CVE-2024-35960 9.1 critical 1.0% linux, debian, linux_kernel, debian_linux In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/mlx5: Properly link new fs rules into the tree Previously, add_rule_fg would only add newly created rules from the handle into the tree when they had a refcount of 1. On the other hand, create_flow_handle tries hard to find and reference already existing identical rules instead of creating new ones. These two behaviors can result in a situation where create_flow_handle 1) creates a new rule and references it, then 2) in a subsequent step during the same handle creation references it again, resulting in a rule with a refcount of 2 that is not linked into the tree, will have a NULL parent and root and will result in a crash when the flow group is deleted because del_sw_hw_rule, invoked on rule deletion, assumes node->parent is != NULL. This happened in the wild, due to another bug related to incorrect handling of duplicate pkt_reformat ids, which lead to the code in create_flow_handle incorrectly referencing a just-added rule in the same flow handle, resulting in the problem described above. Full details are at [1]. This patch changes add_rule_fg to add new rules without parents into the tree, properly initializing them and avoiding the crash. This makes it more consistent with how rules are added to an FTE in create_flow_handle. 15 Oct

CVE-2025-38429 10.0 critical — linux In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bus: mhi: ep: Update read pointer only after buffer is written Inside mhi_ep_ring_add_element, the read pointer (rd_offset) is updated before the buffer is written, potentially causing race conditions where the host sees an updated read pointer before the buffer is actually written. Updating rd_offset prematurely can lead to the host accessing an uninitialized or incomplete element, resulting in data corruption. Invoke the buffer write before updating rd_offset to ensure the element is fully written before signaling its availability. 11 h ago
CVE-2026-74612 10.0 critical 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: veth: fix skb length accounting after XDP frag adjustment veth exposes non-linear skb fragments through an xdp_buff. If an XDP program adjusts the fragment area, veth_xdp_rcv_skb() copies xdp_frags_size back to skb->data_len but leaves skb->len containing the old fragment contribution. After a fragment shrink, this makes skb_headlen() larger than the actual linear area. In the reproduced UDP receive path, __skb_datagram_iter() copied 1024 bytes past the actual linear tail to userspace, starting at struct skb_shared_info. The copied bytes included the affected skb's nr_frags, xdp_frags_size, and a kernel pointer from skb_shinfo(skb)->frags[0]. Real packet data was displaced by the same amount and truncated at the end. Subtract the old data_len before replacing it and add the new data_len afterwards, keeping skb->len and skb->data_len synchronized. Additionally, bpf_xdp_pull_data() can advance data_end while leaving frags present. The skb is then still non-linear, so the old __skb_put(skb, off) triggers SKB_LINEAR_ASSERT(). Use skb_set_tail_pointer() and update skb->len explicitly instead, following bpf_prog_run_generic_xdp(). Unlike __skb_put(), skb_set_tail_pointer() does not require a linear skb. A 60000-byte UDP datagram on a veth pair with MTU 64000 was shortened by 1024 bytes from its fragment area. Before the fix, all 10 runs produced corrupted payloads. After the fix, all 10 runs matched the expected payload exactly. A forced-tailroom reproducer also exercises bpf_xdp_pull_data() with frags still present; the old code triggers SKB_LINEAR_ASSERT(), while this fix passes 10/10 runs. 16 Oct
CVE-2026-74475 10.0 critical 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vxlan: use neigh_ha_snapshot() in route_shortcircuit() The neighbour hardware address n->ha can be updated asynchronously by the neighbour subsystem, protected by n->ha_lock seqlock. Reading n->ha without holding the seqlock loop can lead to torn reads or reading a partially updated MAC address. Use neigh_ha_snapshot() in route_shortcircuit() to safely copy n->ha under read_seqbegin()/read_seqretry() lock protection before using it. Note that arp_reduce() and neigh_reduce() seem to have the same issue left for future patches. 16 Oct
CVE-2026-72493 9.9 critical 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: serialize netif_running() check in enqueue_to_backlog() Syzbot reported a KASAN slab-use-after-free in fib_rules_lookup(). The root cause is a race condition where packets can escape the backlog flushing during device unregistration (e.g., during netns exit). Commit e9e4dd3267d0 ("net: do not process device backlog during unregistration") introduced a lockless netif_running() check in enqueue_to_backlog() to prevent queuing packets to an unregistering device. However, this creates a TOCTOU race window. A lockless transmitter (like veth_xmit) can pass the check before dev_close() clears IFF_UP. If the transmitter is then delayed, flush_all_backlogs() can run and finish before the transmitter grabs the backlog lock and queues the packet. The packet then escapes the flush and triggers UAF later when processed. Fix this by moving the netif_running() check inside the backlog lock. This serializes the check with the flush work (which also grabs the lock). We then either queue the packet before the flush runs (so it gets flushed), or check netif_running() after the flush/close completes (so it gets dropped). 21 Oct
CVE-2026-80587 9.8 critical 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mptcp: avoid combining some incoming suboptions Some MPTCP suboptions are mutually exclusive according to the RFC8684, but also because in different places, the code doesn't expect some combinations to be present. That's specially true for suboptions that would be present twice, but with different attributes. The new restrictions are the same as the ones applied on the output side, with mptcp_write_options. The same rules can be reused with a small fix: an MP_FASTCLOSE can be used with a DSS when the sender picks this option [1], which is not the case on Linux. Here are the rules: Which options can be used together? X: mutually exclusive O: often used together C: can be used together in some cases P: could be used together but we prefer not to (optimisations) | Opt: | MPC | MPJ | DSS | ADD | RM | PRIO | FAIL | FC | |------|------|------|------|------|------|------|------|------| | MPC |------|------|------|------|------|------|------|------| | MPJ | X |------|------|------|------|------|------|------| | DSS | X | X |------|------|------|------|------|------| | ADD | X | X | P |------|------|------|------|------| | RM | C | C | C | P |------|------|------|------| | PRIO | X | C | C | C | C |------|------|------| | FAIL | X | X | C | X | X | X |------|------| | FC | X | X | P | X | X | X | X |------| | RST | X | X | X | X | X | X | O | O | |------|------|------|------|------|------|------|------|------| The only difference is with the 'P': another stack could send and ADD_ADDR with other suboptions (DSS, RM_ADDR), and this should be allowed. A few points of attention: - In theory, an MP_CAPABLE could be used with a RM_ADDR, but there is no reason to add it with a SYN. Note that even with a 4th ACK, it doesn't seem to be useful, except when IDs are known in advance via another channel. Better not to break that. - Now, combining both an MP_CAPABLE and an MP_JOIN will no longer result to a reject of the two options, but only the second suboption is ignored. That seems OK to do that for this unexpected error. At least now all inconsistent combinations are handled the same way. This could change later in next. This also means the explicit checks for having both MPC + MPJ in subflow.c will now be unreachable. That's fine, they will be removed in a follow-up patch. - In case of conflicting combinations, the extra suboption(s) is/are ignored: having such combinations either means the remote peer is buggy, or is evil. The simplest action is then taken in this case: stop processing the current suboption. - In mp_opt->suboptions, there is also a bit reserved to the checksum, which can be used in an MP_CAPABLE and a DSS. Each time a DSS option can be used in parallel with another option, the checksum can be set, so the verification is combined into a new OPTIONS_MPTCP_DSS macro. - An MP_CAPABLE ACK can carry a Data-Level Length, and an optional Checksum: they are the same as the ones found in a DSS, because a DSS cannot be used in parallel to an MP_CAPABLE. Similarly, even if there is room, a DSS cannot be used with an MP_JOIN. 11 h ago

CVE-2024-53179 9.8 critical — linux In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix use-after-free of signing key Customers have reported use-after-free in @ses->auth_key.response with SMB2.1 + sign mounts which occurs due to following race: task A task B cifs_mount() dfs_mount_share() get_session() cifs_mount_get_session() cifs_send_recv() cifs_get_smb_ses() compound_send_recv() cifs_setup_session() smb2_setup_request() kfree_sensitive() smb2_calc_signature() crypto_shash_setkey() *UAF* Fix this by ensuring that we have a valid @ses->auth_key.response by checking whether @ses->ses_status is SES_GOOD or SES_EXITING with @ses->ses_lock held. After commit 24a9799aa8ef ("smb: client: fix UAF in smb2_reconnect_server()"), we made sure to call ->logoff() only when @ses was known to be good (e.g. valid ->auth_key.response), so it's safe to access signing key when @ses->ses_status == SES_EXITING. 11 h ago
CVE-2024-53177 9.8 critical — linux In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: prevent use-after-free due to open_cached_dir error paths If open_cached_dir() encounters an error parsing the lease from the server, the error handling may race with receiving a lease break, resulting in open_cached_dir() freeing the cfid while the queued work is pending. Have cached_dir_lease_break(), cfids_laundromat_worker(), and invalidate_all_cached_dirs() clear has_lease immediately while still holding cfids->cfid_list_lock, and then use this to also simplify the reference counting in cfids_laundromat_worker() and invalidate_all_cached_dirs(). CVE-2024-53095 9.8 critical — linux In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: Fix use-after-free of network namespace. Recently, we got a customer report that CIFS triggers oops while reconnecting to a server. [0] The workload runs on Kubernetes, and some pods mount CIFS servers in non-root network namespaces. The problem rarely happened, but it was always while the pod was dying. The root cause is wrong reference counting for network namespace. CIFS uses kernel sockets, which do not hold refcnt of the netns that the socket belongs to. That means CIFS must ensure the socket is always freed before its netns; otherwise, use-after-free happens. The repro steps are roughly: 1. mount CIFS in a non-root netns 2. drop packets from the netns 3. destroy the netns 4. unmount CIFS We can reproduce the issue quickly with the script [1] below and see the splat [2] if CONFIG_NET_NS_REFCNT_TRACKER is enabled. When the socket is TCP, it is hard to guarantee the netns lifetime without holding refcnt due to async timers. Let's hold netns refcnt for each socket as done for SMC in commit 9744d2bf1976 ("smc: Fix use-after-free in tcp_write_timer_handler()."). Note that we need to move put_net() from cifs_put_tcp_session() to clean_demultiplex_info(); otherwise, __sock_create() still could touch a freed netns while cifsd tries to reconnect from cifs_demultiplex_thread(). CVE-2024-38570 9.8 critical — linux In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gfs2: Fix potential glock use-after-free on unmount When a DLM lockspace is released and there ares still locks in that lockspace, DLM will unlock those locks automatically. Commit fb6791d100d1b started exploiting this behavior to speed up filesystem unmount: gfs2 would simply free glocks it didn't want to unlock and then release the lockspace. This didn't take the bast callbacks for asynchronous lock contention notifications into account, which remain active until until a lock is unlocked or its lockspace is released. To prevent those callbacks from accessing deallocated objects, put the glocks that should not be unlocked on the sd_dead_glocks list, release the lockspace, and only then free those glocks. As an additional measure, ignore unexpected ast and bast callbacks if the receiving glock is dead. 11 h ago
CVE-2024-36911 9.8 critical — linux In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hv_netvsc: Don't free decrypted memory In CoCo VMs it is possible for the untrusted host to cause set_memory_encrypted() or set_memory_decrypted() to fail such that an error is returned and the resulting memory is shared. Callers need to take care to handle these errors to avoid returning decrypted (shared) memory to the page allocator, which could lead to functional or security issues. The netvsc driver could free decrypted/shared pages if set_memory_decrypted() fails. Check the decrypted field in the gpadl to decide whether to free the memory. 11 h ago

CVE-2026-53055 9.8 critical 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: hisilicon/sec2 - prevent req used-after-free for sec During packet transmission, if the system is under heavy load, the hardware might complete processing the packet and free the request memory (req) before the transmission function finishes. CVE-2026-99079 9.8 critical 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/mlx5e: Prevent stale XSK buffer release on refill retry When an XDP redirect to an AF_XDP socket fails because its RX ring is full, the XSK core frees the buffer. During the subsequent batched refill of a legacy cyclic RQ, mlx5e also releases the WQE's XSK buffer before allocating a replacement. If that refill succeeds only partially, a WQE left without a replacement retains its old buffer pointer. The buffer can meanwhile be allocated to another WQE. A later refill retry can then free the live buffer through the stale pointer and publish the same UMEM frame twice. Mark the WQE as released immediately after the driver-side free. The flag is already cleared when a replacement buffer is assigned, so refill retries no longer release stale pointers. The failure is silent and produces no kernel warning or splat. A standalone legacy cyclic-RQ zero-copy libxsk reproducer, using 64-byte UDP traffic offered at 12 Mpps, detected it: stock stopped after 2,854,914 packets in 4.094 seconds, with 4,542 xdp_rx_ring_full events and 64 ownership/double-publication errors. With this change it processed 356,904,225 packets in 30 seconds despite 571,405 xdp_rx_ring_full events, with no ownership or data errors. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2026-99078 9.8 critical 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/mlx5e: Prevent stale XSK buffer release on MPWQE refill retry With AF_XDP on a striding RQ, mlx5e defers releasing XSK buffers until an MPWQE is refilled. If XSK allocation then returns -ENOMEM, actual_wq_head is not advanced and a later NAPI poll retries the same WQE. mlx5e_free_rx_mpwqe() leaves each released slot marked as releasable. On retry it can therefore call xsk_buff_free() again through stale pointers after the frames have returned to the XSK pool and been reallocated. Set all skip_release_bitmap bits in the common error path of mlx5e_xsk_alloc_rx_mpwqe(). This matches mlx5e_alloc_rx_mpwqe(). A successful allocation already clears the bitmap after replacing every buffer, so retries become idempotent without changing the success path. Fault injection forced three consecutive failures for one selected MPWQE. Both an early allocation failure and a partial 8-of-16-buffer unwind released the original 16 XSK buffers only once. Each error left a full bitmap, the following NAPI retry skipped the release, and a later successful allocation cleared it. A 20-second AF_XDP zero-copy pressure run exercised 1,575,262 buffer allocation failures without invalid descriptors, WQE errors, or kernel warnings. Sat 24 Oct

CVE-2026-46325 9.8 critical 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/rxe: Fix iova-to-va conversion for MR page sizes != PAGE_SIZE The current implementation incorrectly handles memory regions (MRs) with page sizes different from the system PAGE_SIZE. The core issue is that rxe_set_page() is called with mr->page_size step increments, but the page_list stores individual struct page pointers, each representing PAGE_SIZE of memory. ib_sg_to_page() has ensured that when i>=1 either a) SG[i-1].dma_end and SG[i].dma_addr are contiguous or b) SG[i-1].dma_end and SG[i].dma_addr are mr->page_size aligned. This leads to incorrect iova-to-va conversion in scenarios: 1) page_size < PAGE_SIZE (e.g., MR: 4K, system: 64K): ibmr->iova = 0x181800 sg[0]: dma_addr=0x181800, len=0x800 sg[1]: dma_addr=0x173000, len=0x1000 Access iova = 0x181800 + 0x810 = 0x182010 Expected VA: 0x173010 (second SG, offset 0x10) Before fix: - index = (0x182010 >> 12) - (0x181800 >> 12) = 1 - page_offset = 0x182010 & 0xFFF = 0x10 - xarray[1] stores system page base 0x170000 - Resulting VA: 0x170000 + 0x10 = 0x170010 (wrong) 2) page_size > PAGE_SIZE (e.g., MR: 64K, system: 4K): ibmr->iova = 0x18f800 sg[0]: dma_addr=0x18f800, len=0x800 sg[1]: dma_addr=0x170000, len=0x1000 Access iova = 0x18f800 + 0x810 = 0x190010 Expected VA: 0x170010 (second SG, offset 0x10) Before fix: - index = (0x190010 >> 16) - (0x18f800 >> 16) = 1 - page_offset = 0x190010 & 0xFFFF = 0x10 - xarray[1] stores system page for dma_addr 0x170000 - Resulting VA: system page of 0x170000 + 0x10 = 0x170010 (wrong) Yi Zhang reported a kernel panic[1] years ago related to this defect. Solution: 1. Replace xarray with pre-allocated rxe_mr_page array for sequential indexing (all MR page indices are contiguous) 2. Each rxe_mr_page stores both struct page* and offset within the system page 3. Handle MR page_size != PAGE_SIZE relationships: - page_size > PAGE_SIZE: Split MR pages into multiple system pages - page_size <= PAGE_SIZE: Store offset within system page 4. Add boundary checks and compatibility validation This ensures correct iova-to-va conversion regardless of MR page size and system PAGE_SIZE relationship, while improving performance through array-based sequential access. Tests on 4K and 64K PAGE_SIZE hosts: - rdma-core/pytests $ ./build/bin/run_tests.py --dev eth0_rxe - blktest: $ TIMEOUT=30 QUICK_RUN=1 USE_RXE=1 NVMET_TRTYPES=rdma ./check nvme srp rnbd [1] https://lore.kernel.org/all/CAHj4cs9XRqE25jyVw9rj9YugffLn5+f=1znaBEnu1usLOciD+g@mail.gmail.com/T/ 21 Oct
CVE-2025-68745 9.8 critical 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: qla2xxx: Clear cmds after chip reset Commit aefed3e5548f ("scsi: qla2xxx: target: Fix offline port handling and host reset handling") caused two problems: 1. Commands sent to FW, after chip reset got stuck and never freed as FW is not going to respond to them anymore. 2. BUG_ON(cmd->sg_mapped) in qlt_free_cmd(). Commit 26f9ce53817a ("scsi: qla2xxx: Fix missed DMA unmap for aborted commands") attempted to fix this, but introduced another bug under different circumstances when two different CPUs were racing to call qlt_unmap_sg() at the same time: BUG_ON(!valid_dma_direction(dir)) in dma_unmap_sg_attrs(). So revert "scsi: qla2xxx: Fix missed DMA unmap for aborted commands" and partially revert "scsi: qla2xxx: target: Fix offline port handling and host reset handling" at __qla2x00_abort_all_cmds. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-90037 9.8 critical 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NFSD: Prevent client use-after-free during close_lru reaping An nfs4_openowner left on nn->close_lru after its final CLOSE keeps its last closed stateid in oo_last_closed_stid, holding only a raw pointer to its nfs4_client. The laundromat reaps timed-out entries, drops nn->client_lock, and calls nfs4_put_stid(), which dereferences the client through cl_lock. Nothing pins the client across that window, so a concurrent force_expire_client() can free it and nfs4_put_stid() reads freed memory. __destroy_client() hits the same race, walking clp->cl_openowners without cl_lock. Pin the client with cl_rpc_users before dropping client_lock, and skip clients already expiring. __destroy_client() then cleans up its own close_lru entries through release_last_closed_stateid(), so teardown no longer races the laundromat. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-90036 9.8 critical 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NFSD: Prevent client use-after-free during blocked-lock reaping A bare lock owner -- its only remaining reference a blocked lock on nn->blocked_locks_lru -- holds a raw pointer to its nfs4_client but no reference keeping the client alive. When the per-net laundromat reaps such a lock, freeing the nbl drops the owner reference held through flc_owner, and the final nfs4_put_stateowner() takes the client's cl_lock. Because the laundromat detaches the nbl first, __destroy_client() no longer finds it, so a concurrent force_expire_client() can free the client before nfs4_put_stateowner() runs, dereferencing cl_lock in freed memory. Pin the client with cl_rpc_users before dropping nn->blocked_locks_lock, and skip clients already expiring, whose blocked locks __destroy_client() frees while holding an owner reference. Take nn->client_lock outside nn->blocked_locks_lock. Every other site holds nn->blocked_locks_lock as a leaf, acquiring no further lock, so placing nn->client_lock outside it cannot form a lock-order cycle. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-89702 9.8 critical 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: size fh_verify server sockaddr slot by xpt_locallen The nfsd_fh_verify and nfsd_fh_verify_err tracepoints declare the server sockaddr slot sized by xpt_remotelen but fill it from xpt_local using xpt_locallen: TP_STRUCT__entry( ... __sockaddr(server, rqstp->rq_xprt->xpt_remotelen) ... ) TP_fast_assign( ... __assign_sockaddr(server, &rqstp->rq_xprt->xpt_local, rqstp->rq_xprt->xpt_locallen); ... ) When xpt_locallen exceeds xpt_remotelen, __assign_sockaddr's memcpy writes past the reserved ring-buffer slot. In the reverse direction (xpt_locallen < xpt_remotelen) the slot is oversized and the unwritten tail leaks prior ring-buffer contents to trace consumers. The write-past-end case is reachable on NFS/UDP. svc_xprt_set_remote() is only called from svc_tcp_accept() (net/sunrpc/svcsock.c) and from the RDMA connect path; svc_create_socket() for UDP calls only svc_xprt_set_local(), so xpt_remotelen stays 0 for the xprt's lifetime. Every fh_verify trace for an NFSv2/v3-over-UDP request then copies 16 or 28 bytes from xpt_local into a zero-byte slot. The other NFSD tracepoints that record the server address (NFSD_TRACE_PROC_CALL_FIELDS, NFSD_TRACE_PROC_RES_FIELDS, SVC_RQST_ENDPOINT_FIELDS) already size the server slot by xpt_locallen; nfsd_fh_verify and nfsd_fh_verify_err were the only exceptions. Fix by sizing the server slot with xpt_locallen so the declared slot matches the copy length. The client slot and its assignment already agree on xpt_remotelen and are left untouched. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-89676 9.8 critical 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: fix stale s2s_cp_stateids IDR entry for async COPY For an async COPY, nfsd4_copy() called nfs4_init_copy_state() before dup_copy_fields(), so the s2s_cp_stateids IDR was pointed at &u->copy->cp_stateid -- memory in the per-rqstp COMPOUND buffer that is reused by the next request. dup_copy_fields() copies only the value into async_copy, so the IDR slot dangled at the transient buffer for the whole background copy. Any IDR walker then dereferences reused request memory: the laundromat reads cs_type from it and, if the bytes look like an expired NFS4_COPYNOTIFY_STID, follows into refcount_dec()/idr_remove()/kfree() on garbage; manage_cpntf_state() has the same exposure via idr_find(). Duplicate the fields first, then register the stateid on the stable async_copy. result->cb_stateid is unchanged. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-89659 9.8 critical 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NFSD: Prevent client use-after-free during delegation revoke A delegation stateid holds only a bare pointer to its owning nfs4_client and does not keep it alive. The client survives its stateids only because __destroy_client() drains cl_delegations and cl_revoked before free_client() runs. nfs4_laundromat() breaks that invariant: it unhashes an expired delegation from cl_delegations, drops deleg_lock, then revoke_delegation() relinks it onto cl_revoked under cl_lock. In that window the delegation is on neither list, so client_has_state() can report no remaining state. Every teardown path first requires cl_rpc_users to be zero, but the laundromat holds no such reference. A client whose recalled delegation has just timed out can therefore reach free_client() while revoke_delegation() is still about to dereference cl_lock, a use-after-free. Pin the client with cl_rpc_users across the revoke so teardown blocks until it completes, then reap the delegation from cl_revoked. A client already expiring reaps its own, so skip it and leave the delegation on del_recall_lru. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-89633 9.8 critical 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix OOB read/write from unvalidated DataOffset in coalesce_t2() coalesce_t2() computes data pointers directly from server-supplied DataOffset fields with no validation against buffer bounds: data_area_of_tgt = (char *)&pSMBt->hdr.Protocol + get_unaligned_le16(&pSMBt->t2_rsp.DataOffset); data_area_of_src = (char *)&pSMBs->hdr.Protocol + get_unaligned_le16(&pSMBs->t2_rsp.DataOffset); data_area_of_tgt += total_in_tgt; ... memcpy(data_area_of_tgt, data_area_of_src, total_in_src); A small DataOffset can push a pointer below the actual byte area, overwriting header fields; a large one can push it past the buffer end, causing out-of-bounds heap reads (source) or writes (target). The BCC overflow guard does not prevent this: BCC reflects how much data is present, while DataOffset controls where in the buffer it starts. The "validate target area" comment present since the function was first written in 2005 was a placeholder that was never implemented. Add lower- and upper-bound checks for both data pointers before the memcpy, and before any target header fields are modified. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-89530 9.8 critical 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: svcrdma: Reject inline replies that overflow the pull-up buffer An RPC-over-RDMA client can request a reply, such as an NFS READ payload, without providing a Write list or a Reply chunk to carry it. When such a reply needs more scatter/gather entries than the device's Send Queue supports, svc_rdma_pull_up_needed() selects pull-up and svc_rdma_pull_up_reply_msg() linearizes the whole reply into sctxt->sc_xprt_buf. That buffer is only sc_max_req_size bytes, while the reply on this path is bounded only by the client's request, so svc_rdma_xb_linearize() copies past the end of the buffer and corrupts adjacent slab memory. The oversized length is then stored in sc_sges[0].length and posted, so the device also reads beyond the mapped region. The SGE-exhaustion branch is the only pull-up path that can exceed the buffer: the threshold branch pulls up only replies smaller than RPCRDMA_PULLUP_THRESH, and replies that fit the device's SGE budget are sent directly without linearization. Make svc_rdma_pull_up_needed() report -E2BIG when the reply it would pull up cannot fit sc_max_req_size, and fail the request with ERR_CHUNK as RFC 8166 Section 4.5.3 directs rather than dropping the connection. The helper no longer answers a simple yes/no question: it now reports pull-up, no pull-up, or -E2BIG for a reply too large to linearize. Rename svc_rdma_pull_up_needed() to svc_rdma_check_pull_up() so its name no longer implies a boolean predicate. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-80694 9.8 critical 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ethernet: mtk_eth_soc: pass eth to mtk_handle_irq_rx in poll_controller mtk_handle_irq_rx expects a struct mtk_eth * (matching the request_irq cookie), but mtk_poll_controller incorrectly passed the net_device *. Calling ndo_poll_controller with CONFIG_NET_POLL_CONTROLLER enabled would then crash. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-74611 9.8 critical 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tls: rx: restore msg_iter before TLS 1.3 optimistic retry tls_decrypt_sg() advances msg->msg_iter when it maps user pages for the optimistic TLS 1.3 zero-copy path. If the decrypted record turns out not to be unpadded application data, tls_decrypt_sw() retries into a kernel skb, but leaves the iterator advanced. The subsequent copy from the skb then writes decrypted bytes again at a later point in the caller iovecs while recvmsg() reports only the post-retry length. A TLS peer can trigger this after the receiver enables TLS_RX_EXPECT_NO_PAD. Revert the iterator by the number of bytes consumed by the optimistic mapping before retrying without zero-copy. Add a selftest which sends a TLS 1.3 control record with TLS_RX_EXPECT_NO_PAD enabled and verifies that recvmsg() does not overwrite later iovecs beyond the returned length. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-74345 9.8 critical 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/siw: Fix endpoint/socket association handling Disassociating a socket from an endpoint via siw_socket_disassoc() may release the last reference on that endpoint and free it. Therefore, don't clear the endpoints socket pointer after calling that function, but within. This fixes a: BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in siw_cm_work_handler (drivers/infiniband/sw/siw/siw_cm.c:1053 drivers/infiniband/sw/siw/siw_cm.c:1075) which occurred after processing a malformed MPA request during connection establishment, causing the new endpoint to be closed. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-72463 9.8 critical 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfrm: Fix dev use-after-free in xfrm async resumption xfrm async resumption hold skb->dev refcnt until after transport_finish. However, xfrm_rcv_cb may modify skb->dev to tunnel dev without taking device reference, such as vti_rcv_cb. The subsequent async resumption will decrement the tunnel device's reference count, which lead to uaf of tunnel dev and refcnt leak of orig dev as below: unregister_netdevice: waiting for vti1 to become free. Usage count = -2 Stash the original skb->dev to fix refcnt imbalance. The new skb->dev set by xfrm_rcv_cb can race with device teardown. Extend rcu protection over xfrm_rcv_cb and transport_finish to prevent races. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-68426 9.8 critical 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfrm: fix stale skb->prev after async crypto steals a GSO segment skb_gso_segment() leaves the segment list head with ->prev pointing at the last segment, an invariant validate_xmit_skb_list() relies on when it sets its tail pointer (tail = skb->prev). When validate_xmit_xfrm() walks a GSO list and some segments are stolen by async crypto (->xmit() returns -EINPROGRESS), those segments are unlinked from the list but the head ->prev is never updated. If the last segment is the one stolen, the returned head still has ->prev pointing at it, even though it is now owned by the crypto engine and may be freed. validate_xmit_skb_list() later does tail->next = skb, writing through that stale pointer -- a use-after-free. Repoint skb->prev at the last retained segment before returning. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-64523 9.8 critical 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/handshake: Take a long-lived file reference at submit handshake_nl_accept_doit() needs the file pointer backing req->hr_sk->sk_socket to survive the window between handshake_req_next() and the subsequent FD_PREPARE() and get_file(). The submit-side sock_hold() does not provide that. sk_refcnt keeps struct sock alive, but struct socket is owned by sock->file: when the consumer fputs the last file reference, sock_release() tears the socket down regardless of any sock_hold. Add an hr_file pointer to struct handshake_req and acquire an explicit reference on sock->file during handshake_req_submit(). handshake_complete() and handshake_req_cancel() release the reference on the completion-bit-winning path. The submit error path must also release the file reference, but after rhashtable insertion a concurrent handshake_req_cancel() can discover the request and race the error path. Gate the error-path cleanup -- sk_destruct restoration, fput, and request destruction -- with test_and_set_bit(HANDSHAKE_F_REQ_COMPLETED), the same serialization handshake_complete() and handshake_req_cancel() already use. When cancel has already claimed ownership, the submit error path returns without touching the request; socket teardown handles final destruction. The accept-side dereferences are not yet retargeted; that change comes in the next patch. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-63978 9.8 critical 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/handshake: Drain pending requests at net namespace exit The arguments to list_splice_init() in handshake_net_exit() are reversed. The call moves the local empty "requests" list onto hn->hn_requests, leaving the local list empty, so the subsequent drain loop runs zero iterations. Pending handshake requests that had not yet been accepted are not torn down when the net namespace is destroyed; each one keeps a reference on a socket file and on the handshake_req allocation. Pass the source and destination in the documented order (list_splice_init(list, head) moves list onto head) so the pending list is transferred to the local scratch list and drained through handshake_complete(). Fixing the splice direction exposes a list-corruption race. After the splice each req->hr_list still has non-empty link pointers, threading the stack-local scratch list rather than hn_requests. A concurrent handshake_req_cancel() -- for example, from sunrpc's TLS timeout on a kernel socket whose netns reference was not taken -- finds the request through the rhashtable, calls remove_pending(), and sees !list_empty(&req->hr_list). __remove_pending_locked() then list_del_init()s an entry off the scratch list while the drain iterates, corrupting it. The same call arriving after the drain loop has run list_del() on an entry hits LIST_POISON instead. Have remove_pending() check HANDSHAKE_F_NET_DRAINING under hn_lock and report not-found when drain is in progress. The drain has already taken ownership; handshake_complete()'s existing test_and_set on HANDSHAKE_F_REQ_COMPLETED still arbitrates between drain and cancel for who calls the consumer's hp_done. Use list_del_init() rather than list_del() in the drain so req->hr_list does not carry LIST_POISON after drain releases the entry. The DRAINING guard in remove_pending() makes cancel return false, but cancel still falls through to test_and_set_bit on HANDSHAKE_F_REQ_COMPLETED and drops the request's hr_file reference. Without another pin, if that is the last reference, sk_destruct frees the request while it is still linked on the drain loop's local list. Pin each request's hr_file under hn_lock before releasing the list, and drop that drain pin after the loop finishes with the request. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-64387 9.8 critical 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix query directory replay double-free A response-bearing attempt can return a replayable error and free its response buffer. CVE-2026-64384 9.8 critical 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix change notify replay double-free A response-bearing attempt can return a replayable error and free its response buffer. Reset response bookkeeping before each attempt to prevent the stale free. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-64383 9.8 critical 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix double-free in SMB2_flush() replay SMB2_flush() keeps its response buffer bookkeeping across replay attempts. If a replayable flush response is received and the retry then fails before cifs_send_recv() stores a replacement response, flush_exit will free the stale response pointer a second time. Reinitialize resp_buftype and rsp_iov at the top of the replay loop so cleanup only acts on response state produced by the current attempt. This fixes a double-free without changing replay handling for successful requests. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-64232 9.8 critical 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: block: recompute nr_integrity_segments in blk_insert_cloned_request blk_insert_cloned_request() already recomputes nr_phys_segments against the bottom queue, because "the queue settings related to segment counting may differ from the original queue." The exact same reasoning applies to integrity segments: a stacked driver's underlying queue can have tighter virt_boundary_mask, seg_boundary_mask, or max_segment_size than the top queue, in which case blk_rq_count_integrity_sg() against the bottom queue produces a different count than the cached rq->nr_integrity_segments inherited from the source request by blk_rq_prep_clone(). When the cached count is lower than the bottom queue's actual count, blk_rq_map_integrity_sg() trips BUG_ON(segments > rq->nr_integrity_segments); on dispatch. The same families of stacked setups that motivated the existing nr_phys_segments recompute -- dm-multipath fanning out to nvme-rdma in particular -- can produce this. Mirror the nr_phys_segments handling: when the request carries integrity, recompute nr_integrity_segments against the bottom queue and reject the request if it exceeds the bottom queue's max_integrity_segments. blk_rq_count_integrity_sg() and queue_max_integrity_segments() are both already available via <linux/blk-integrity.h>, which blk-mq.c includes. This closes a latent gap in the stacking contract and brings the integrity-segment accounting in line with the existing phys-segment accounting. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-64162 9.8 critical 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: idpf: fix read_dev_clk_lock spinlock init in idpf_ptp_init() In idpf_ptp_init(), read_dev_clk_lock is initialized after ptp_schedule_worker() had already been called (and after idpf_ptp_settime64() could reach the lock). CVE-2026-64037 9.8 critical 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: iwlwifi: mld: fix TSO segmentation explosion when AMSDU is disabled When the TLC notification disables AMSDU for a TID, the MLD driver sets max_tid_amsdu_len to the sentinel value 1. The TSO segmentation path in iwl_mld_tx_tso_segment() checks for zero but not for this sentinel, allowing it to reach the num_subframes calculation: num_subframes = (max_tid_amsdu_len + pad) / (subf_len + pad) = (1 + 2) / (1534 + 2) = 0 This zero propagates to iwl_tx_tso_segment() which sets: gso_size = num_subframes * mss = 0 Calling skb_gso_segment() with gso_size=0 creates over 32000 tiny segments from a single GSO skb. This floods the TX ring with ~1024 micro-frames (the rest are purged), creating a massive burst of TX completion events that can lead to memory corruption and a subsequent use-after-free in TCP's retransmit queue (refcount underflow in tcp_shifted_skb, NULL deref in tcp_rack_detect_loss). The MVM driver is immune because it checks mvmsta->amsdu_enabled before reaching the num_subframes calculation. The MLD driver has no equivalent bitmap check and relies solely on max_tid_amsdu_len, which does not catch the sentinel value. Fix this by detecting the sentinel value (max_tid_amsdu_len == 1) at the existing check and falling back to non-AMSDU TSO segmentation. Also add a WARN_ON_ONCE guard after the num_subframes division as defense-in-depth to catch any future code paths that produce zero through a different mechanism. 19 Oct
