| CVE-2026-98515 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | no CPE yet | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/nouveau: fix double-free in nvif_vmm_dtor On failure, nouveau_cli_init() calls nouveau_cli_fini() to tear the client down. Then, nouveau_drm_open() also enters into its cleanup path and calls nouveau_cli_fini() AGAIN. nouveau_cli_fini() calls nouveau_vmm_fini(): void nouveau_vmm_fini(struct nouveau_vmm *vmm) { nouveau_svmm_fini(&vmm->svmm); nvif_vmm_dtor(&vmm->vmm); vmm->cli = NULL; } Inside nvif_vmm_dtor(), vmm->page is freed unconditionally: void nvif_vmm_dtor(struct nvif_vmm *vmm) { kfree(vmm->page); nvif_object_dtor(&vmm->object); } vmm->page is never cleared after being freed, so the second call of nvif_vmm_dtor() will cause a double-free. Found by fuzzing the nouveau driver with a modified Syzkaller: BUG: KASAN: double-free in nvif_vmm_dtor+0x31/0x50 drivers/gpu/drm/nouveau/nvif/vmm.c:194 Free of addr ffff888010fcdc30 by task syz.0.173/2567 CPU: 1 UID: 0 PID: 2567 Comm: syz.0.173 Not tainted 7.2.0 #24 PREEMPT(lazy) Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (Q35 + ICH9, 2009), BIOS 1.16.3-debian-1.16.3-2 04/01/2014 Call Trace: <TASK> __dump_stack lib/dump_stack.c:94 [inline] dump_stack_lvl+0x95/0xe0 lib/dump_stack.c:120 print_address_description mm/kasan/report.c:378 [inline] print_report+0xcb/0x5a0 mm/kasan/report.c:482 kasan_report_invalid_free+0xaa/0xd0 mm/kasan/report.c:557 check_slab_allocation+0xe4/0x110 mm/kasan/common.c:235 kasan_slab_pre_free include/linux/kasan.h:199 [inline] slab_free_hook mm/slub.c:2622 [inline] slab_free mm/slub.c:6377 [inline] kfree+0x192/0x590 mm/slub.c:6692 nvif_vmm_dtor+0x31/0x50 drivers/gpu/drm/nouveau/nvif/vmm.c:194 nouveau_vmm_fini+0x16/0x50 drivers/gpu/drm/nouveau/nouveau_vmm.c:127 nouveau_cli_fini+0x10e/0x210 drivers/gpu/drm/nouveau/nouveau_drm.c:225 nouveau_drm_open+0x24e/0x740 drivers/gpu/drm/nouveau/nouveau_drm.c:1255 drm_file_alloc+0x5f2/0xad0 drivers/gpu/drm/drm_file.c:176 drm_open_helper+0x1d7/0x4a0 drivers/gpu/drm/drm_file.c:335 drm_open+0x190/0x3d0 drivers/gpu/drm/drm_file.c:388 drm_stub_open+0x1f2/0x460 drivers/gpu/drm/drm_drv.c:1211 chrdev_open+0x21c/0x660 fs/char_dev.c:411 do_dentry_open+0x59d/0x12b0 fs/open.c:947 vfs_open+0x82/0x390 fs/open.c:1052 do_open fs/namei.c:4700 [inline] path_openat+0x2345/0x3420 fs/namei.c:4863 do_file_open+0x207/0x460 fs/namei.c:4892 do_sys_openat2+0xd1/0x1d0 fs/open.c:1368 do_sys_open fs/open.c:1374 [inline] __do_sys_openat fs/open.c:1390 [inline] __se_sys_openat fs/open.c:1385 [inline] __x64_sys_openat+0x144/0x200 fs/open.c:1385 do_syscall_x64 arch/x86/entry/syscall_64.c:63 [inline] do_syscall_64+0x115/0x690 arch/x86/entry/syscall_64.c:94 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x77/0x7f RIP: 0033:0x7fc6d687594d Code: ff c3 66 2e 0f 1f 84 00 00 00 00 00 90 f3 0f 1e fa 48 89 f8 48 89 f7 48 89 d6 48 89 ca 4d 89 c2 4d 89 c8 4c 8b 4c 24 08 0f 05 <48> 3d 01 f0 ff ff 73 01 c3 48 c7 c1 b0 ff ff ff f7 d8 64 89 01 48 RSP: 002b:00007fc6d5295008 EFLAGS: 00000246 ORIG_RAX: 0000000000000101 RAX: ffffffffffffffda RBX: 00007fc6d6b06180 RCX: 00007fc6d687594d RDX: 0000000000022501 RSI: 0000200000000000 RDI: ffffffffffffff9c RBP: 00007fc6d691c303 R08: 0000000000000000 R09: 0000000000000000 R10: 0000000000000000 R11: 0000000000000246 R12: 0000000000000000 R13: 00007fc6d6b06218 R14: 00007fc6d6b06180 R15: 00007ffd9451d760 </TASK> Allocated by task 2567 on cpu 1 at 163.593900s: kasan_save_stack+0x24/0x50 mm/kasan/common.c:57 kasan_save_track+0x17/0x60 mm/kasan/common.c:78 poison_kmalloc_redzone mm/kasan/common.c:398 [inline] __kasan_kmalloc+0xaa/0xb0 mm/kasan/common.c:415 kasan_kmalloc include/linux/kasan.h:263 [inline] __do_kmalloc_node mm/slub.c:5334 [inline] __kmalloc_noprof+0x304/0x7c0 mm/slub.c:5359 _kmalloc_noprof include/linux/slab.h:992 [inline] nvif_vmm_ctor+0x3c0/0x7e0 drivers/gpu/drm/nouveau/nvif/vmm.c:237 nouveau_vmm_init+0x40/0x90 drivers/gpu/drm/nouveau/nouveau_vmm.c:134 nouveau_cli_init+0x7b9/0 ---truncated--- | Sat 24 Oct |
| CVE-2026-63809 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | linux, linux_kernel | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: use kvfree() for replaced sysctl write buffer proc_sys_call_handler() allocates its temporary sysctl buffer with kvzalloc() and passes it to __cgroup_bpf_run_filter_sysctl(). Since kvzalloc() may fall back to vmalloc() for large allocations, freeing that buffer with kfree() is wrong and can corrupt memory. Use kvfree() to safely handle both kmalloc and kvzalloc()/vmalloc allocations. The bug was first flagged by an experimental analysis tool we are developing for kernel memory-management bugs while analyzing v6.13-rc1. The tool is still under development and is not yet publicly available. Manual inspection confirms that the bug is still present in v7.1-rc5. Reproduced the bug based on v7.1-rc4 in a QEMU x86_64 guest booted with KASAN and CONFIG_FAILSLAB enabled. To exercise the replacement path, the test tree also included the accompanying fix for the stale ret == 1 check in __cgroup_bpf_run_filter_sysctl(). The reproducer confines failslab injections to the proc_sys_call_handler() range, uses stacktrace-depth=32, and injects fail-nth=1 while writing 8191 bytes to /proc/sys/kernel/domainname from a task in the target cgroup. Under that setup, fail-nth=1 triggered the fault: BUG: unable to handle page fault for address: ffffeb0200024d48 #PF: supervisor read access in kernel mode #PF: error_code(0x0000) - not-present page PGD 0 P4D 0 Oops: Oops: 0000 SMP KASAN NOPTI CPU: 2 UID: 0 PID: 209 Comm: repro_proc_sys_ Not tainted 7.1.0-rc4-00686-g97625979a5d4 PREEMPT(lazy) Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (Q35 + ICH9, 2009), BIOS 1.15.0-1 04/01/2014 RIP: 0010:kfree+0x6e/0x510 ... | CVE-2026-31505 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | linux, linux_kernel | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iavf: fix out-of-bounds writes in iavf_get_ethtool_stats() iavf incorrectly uses real_num_tx_queues for ETH_SS_STATS. Since the value could change in runtime, we should use num_tx_queues instead. Moreover iavf_get_ethtool_stats() uses num_active_queues while iavf_get_sset_count() and iavf_get_stat_strings() use real_num_tx_queues, which triggers out-of-bounds writes when we do "ethtool -L" and "ethtool -S" simultaneously [1]. For example when we change channels from 1 to 8, Thread 3 could be scheduled before Thread 2, and out-of-bounds writes could be triggered in Thread 3: Thread 1 (ethtool -L) Thread 2 (work) Thread 3 (ethtool -S) iavf_set_channels() ... iavf_alloc_queues() -> num_active_queues = 8 iavf_schedule_finish_config() iavf_get_sset_count() real_num_tx_queues: 1 -> buffer for 1 queue iavf_get_ethtool_stats() num_active_queues: 8 -> out-of-bounds! iavf_finish_config() -> real_num_tx_queues = 8 Use immutable num_tx_queues in all related functions to avoid the issue. | CVE-2026-98073 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | no CPE yet | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: Remove conflicting altnames for dying netns in __dev_change_net_namespace(). syzbot reported the warning in cfg80211_pernet_exit(). [0] The repro does the following: 1. create two device in root netns and non-root netns 2. assign the same altname for the two devices 3. remove the non-root netns Since commit 7663d522099e ("net: check for altname conflicts when changing netdev's netns"), cfg80211_switch_netns() and cfg802154_switch_netns() fail if init_net has a device with the conflicting altname. default_device_exit_net() had the same issue and commit d09486a04f5d ("net: fix removing a namespace with conflicting altnames") fixed it. cfg80211_pernet_exit() and cfg802154_pernet_exit() need the same fix. Let's generalise the fix by removing conflicting altnames for dying netns in __dev_change_net_namespace(). Only allocate a new tracker in netdev_watchdog_up() if one is not already present. In dev_watchdog(), ensure we don't release the tracker if the timer was rescheduled either by dev_watchdog() itself or concurrently by netdev_watchdog_up(). | 21 Oct |
| CVE-2026-74257 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | no CPE yet | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sockmap: Fix use-after-free in udp_bpf_recvmsg() syzbot reported use-after-free of struct sk_msg in sk_msg_recvmsg(). [0] sk_msg_recvmsg() peeks sk_msg from psock->ingress_msg under a lock, but its processing is lockless. Thus, sk_msg_recvmsg() must be serialised by callers, otherwise multiple threads could touch the same sk_msg. For example, TCP uses lock_sock(), and AF_UNIX uses unix_sk(sk)->iolock. Initially, udp_bpf_recvmsg() had used lock_sock(), but the cited commit removed it. Let's serialise sk_msg_recvmsg() with lock_sock() in udp_bpf_recvmsg(). Note that holding spin_lock_bh(&sk->sk_receive_queue.lock) is not an option due to copy_page_to_iter() in sk_msg_recvmsg(). | CVE-2026-64097 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | linux, linux_kernel | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Validate GPIO pin LUT table size before iterating [Why&How] The GPIO pin table parsers in get_gpio_i2c_info() and bios_parser_get_gpio_pin_info() derive an element count from the VBIOS table_header.structuresize field, then iterate over gpio_pin[] entries. However, GET_IMAGE() only validates that the table header itself fits within the BIOS image. If the VBIOS reports a structuresize larger than the actual mapped data, the loop reads past the end of the BIOS image, causing an out-of-bounds read. Fix this by calling bios_get_image() to validate that the full claimed structuresize is accessible within the BIOS image before entering the loop in both functions. | CVE-2025-39955 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | linux, linux_kernel | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tcp: Clear tcp_sk(sk)->fastopen_rsk in tcp_disconnect(). syzbot reported the splat below where a socket had tcp_sk(sk)->fastopen_rsk in the TCP_ESTABLISHED state. [0] syzbot reused the server-side TCP Fast Open socket as a new client before the TFO socket completes 3WHS: 1. accept() 2. connect(AF_UNSPEC) 3. connect() to another destination As of accept(), sk->sk_state is TCP_SYN_RECV, and tcp_disconnect() changes it to TCP_CLOSE and makes connect() possible, which restarts timers. Since tcp_disconnect() forgot to clear tcp_sk(sk)->fastopen_rsk, the retransmit timer triggered the warning and the intended packet was not retransmitted. Let's call reqsk_fastopen_remove() in tcp_disconnect(). Therefore, if the application closes the socket immediately after accept, newclcsock->sk can be NULL. A possible execution order could be as follows: smc_listen_work | userspace ----------------------------------------------------------------- lock_sock(sk) | smc_listen_out_connected() | | \- smc_listen_out | | | \- release_sock | | |- sk->sk_data_ready() | | fd = accept(); | close(fd); | \- socket->sk = NULL; /* newclcsock->sk is NULL now */ SMC_STAT_SERV_SUCC_INC(sock_net(newclcsock->sk)) Since smc_listen_out_connected() will not fail, simply swapping the order of the code can easily fix this issue. | 19 Oct |
| CVE-2025-39711 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | linux, linux_kernel | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: ivsc: Fix crash at shutdown due to missing mei_cldev_disable() calls Both the ACE and CSI driver are missing a mei_cldev_disable() call in their remove() function. This causes the mei_cl client to stay part of the mei_device->file_list list even though its memory is freed by mei_cl_bus_dev_release() calling kfree(cldev->cl). This leads to a use-after-free when mei_vsc_remove() runs mei_stop() which first removes all mei bus devices calling mei_ace_remove() and mei_csi_remove() followed by mei_cl_bus_dev_release() and then calls mei_cl_all_disconnect() which walks over mei_device->file_list dereferecing the just freed cldev->cl. And mei_vsc_remove() it self is run at shutdown because of the platform_device_unregister(tp->pdev) in vsc_tp_shutdown() When building a kernel with KASAN this leads to the following KASAN report: [ 106.634504] ================================================================== [ 106.634623] BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in mei_cl_set_disconnected (drivers/misc/mei/client.c:783) mei [ 106.634683] Read of size 4 at addr ffff88819cb62018 by task systemd-shutdow/1 [ 106.634729] [ 106.634767] Tainted: [E]=UNSIGNED_MODULE [ 106.634770] Hardware name: Dell Inc. | CVE-2025-39824 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | linux, debian, linux_kernel, debian_linux | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: asus: fix UAF via HID_CLAIMED_INPUT validation After hid_hw_start() is called hidinput_connect() will eventually be called to set up the device with the input layer since the HID_CONNECT_DEFAULT connect mask is used. During hidinput_connect() all input and output reports are processed and corresponding hid_inputs are allocated and configured via hidinput_configure_usages(). This process involves slot tagging report fields and configuring usages by setting relevant bits in the capability bitmaps. However it is possible that the capability bitmaps are not set at all leading to the subsequent hidinput_has_been_populated() check to fail leading to the freeing of the hid_input and the underlying input device. This becomes problematic because a malicious HID device like a ASUS ROG N-Key keyboard can trigger the above scenario via a specially crafted descriptor which then leads to a user-after-free when the name of the freed input device is written to later on after hid_hw_start(). Below, report 93 intentionally utilises the HID_UP_UNDEFINED Usage Page which is skipped during usage configuration, leading to the frees. 0x05, 0x0D, // Usage Page (Digitizer) 0x09, 0x05, // Usage (Touch Pad) 0xA1, 0x01, // Collection (Application) 0x85, 0x0D, // Report ID (13) 0x06, 0x00, 0xFF, // Usage Page (Vendor Defined 0xFF00) 0x09, 0xC5, // Usage (0xC5) 0x15, 0x00, // Logical Minimum (0) 0x26, 0xFF, 0x00, // Logical Maximum (255) 0x75, 0x08, // Report Size (8) 0x95, 0x04, // Report Count (4) 0xB1, 0x02, // Feature (Data,Var,Abs) 0x85, 0x5D, // Report ID (93) 0x06, 0x00, 0x00, // Usage Page (Undefined) 0x09, 0x01, // Usage (0x01) 0x15, 0x00, // Logical Minimum (0) 0x26, 0xFF, 0x00, // Logical Maximum (255) 0x75, 0x08, // Report Size (8) 0x95, 0x1B, // Report Count (27) 0x81, 0x02, // Input (Data,Var,Abs) 0xC0, // End Collection Below is the KASAN splat after triggering the UAF: [ 21.672709] ================================================================== [ 21.673700] BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in asus_probe+0xeeb/0xf80 [ 21.673700] Write of size 8 at addr ffff88810a0ac000 by task kworker/1:2/54 [ 21.673700] [ 21.673700] CPU: 1 UID: 0 PID: 54 Comm: kworker/1:2 Not tainted 6.16.0-rc4-g9773391cf4dd-dirty #36 PREEMPT(voluntary) [ 21.673700] Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS 1.16.2-debian-1.16.2-1 04/01/2014 [ 21.673700] Call Trace: [ 21.673700] <TASK> [ 21.673700] dump_stack_lvl+0x5f/0x80 [ 21.673700] print_report+0xd1/0x660 [ 21.673700] kasan_report+0xe5/0x120 [ 21.673700] __asan_report_store8_noabort+0x1b/0x30 [ 21.673700] asus_probe+0xeeb/0xf80 [ 21.673700] hid_device_probe+0x2ee/0x700 [ 21.673700] really_probe+0x1c6/0x6b0 [ 21.673700] __driver_probe_device+0x24f/0x310 [ 21.673700] driver_probe_device+0x4e/0x220 [...] [ 21.673700] [ 21.673700] Allocated by task 54: [ 21.673700] kasan_save_stack+0x3d/0x60 [ 21.673700] kasan_save_track+0x18/0x40 [ 21.673700] kasan_save_alloc_info+0x3b/0x50 [ 21.673700] __kasan_kmalloc+0x9c/0xa0 [ 21.673700] __kmalloc_cache_noprof+0x139/0x340 [ 21.673700] input_allocate_device+0x44/0x370 [ 21.673700] hidinput_connect+0xcb6/0x2630 [ 21.673700] hid_connect+0xf74/0x1d60 [ 21.673700] hid_hw_start+0x8c/0x110 [ 21.673700] asus_probe+0x5a3/0xf80 [ 21.673700] hid_device_probe+0x2ee/0x700 [ 21.673700] really_probe+0x1c6/0x6b0 [ 21.673700] __driver_probe_device+0x24f/0x310 [ 21.673700] driver_probe_device+0x4e/0x220 [...] [ 21.673700] [ 21.673700] Freed by task 54: [ 21.673700] kasan_save_stack+0x3d/0x60 [ 21.673700] kasan_save_track+0x18/0x40 [ 21.673700] kasan_save_free_info+0x3f/0x60 [ 21.673700] __kasan_slab_free+0x3c/0x50 [ 21.673700] kfre ---truncated--- | 19 Oct |

[0] When atmtcp_v_open() or atmtcp_v_close() is called via connect() or close(), atmtcp_send_control() is called to send an in-kernel special message. The message has ATMTCP_HDR_MAGIC in atmtcp_control.hdr.length. Also, a pointer of struct atm_vcc is set to atmtcp_control.vcc. The notable thing is struct atmtcp_control is uAPI but has a space for an in-kernel pointer. struct atmtcp_control { struct atmtcp_hdr hdr; /* must be first */ ... atm_kptr_t vcc; /* both directions */ ... } __ATM_API_ALIGN; typedef struct { unsigned char _[8]; } __ATM_API_ALIGN atm_kptr_t; The special message is processed in atmtcp_recv_control() called from atmtcp_c_send(). atmtcp_c_send() is vcc->dev->ops->send() and called from 2 paths: 1. .ndo_start_xmit() (vcc->send() == atm_send_aal0()) 2. vcc_sendmsg() The problem is sendmsg() does not validate the message length and userspace can abuse atmtcp_recv_control() to overwrite any kptr by atmtcp_control. Let's add a new ->pre_send() hook to validate messages from sendmsg(). Specifically, the fields usbdev_intf0 and usbdev_intf1 are not protected by the users counter (ictx->users). During probe, imon_init_intf0 or imon_init_intf1 increments the usb_device reference count depending on the interface. However, during disconnect, usb_put_dev is called unconditionally, regardless of actual usage. As a result, if vfd_write or other operations are still in progress after disconnect, this can lead to a use-after-free of the usb_device pointer. Thread 1 vfd_write Thread 2 imon_disconnect ... if usb_put_dev(ictx->usbdev_intf0) else usb_put_dev(ictx->usbdev_intf1) ... while send_packet if pipe = usb_sndintpipe( ictx->usbdev_intf0) UAF else pipe = usb_sndctrlpipe( ictx->usbdev_intf0, 0) UAF Guard access to usbdev_intf0 and usbdev_intf1 after disconnect by checking ictx->disconnected in all writer paths. Add early return with -ENODEV in send_packet(), vfd_write(), lcd_write() and display_open() if the device is no longer present. Set and read ictx->disconnected under ictx->lock to ensure memory synchronization. Acquire the lock in imon_disconnect() before setting the flag to synchronize with any ongoing operations. Ensure writers exit early and safely after disconnect before the USB core proceeds with cleanup. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with Syzkaller. | 19 Oct |
| CVE-2025-40006 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | no CPE yet | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/hugetlb: fix folio is still mapped when deleted Migration may be raced with fallocating hole. remove_inode_single_folio will unmap the folio if the folio is still mapped. However, it's called without folio lock. If the folio is migrated and the mapped pte has been converted to migration entry, folio_mapped() returns false, and won't unmap it. Due to extra refcount held by remove_inode_single_folio, migration fails, restores migration entry to normal pte, and the folio is mapped again. As a result, we triggered BUG in filemap_unaccount_folio. So let's sign extend struct ops return values according to the LoongArch ABI ([1]) and return value spec in function model. | CVE-2025-40064 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | no CPE yet | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smc: Fix use-after-free in __pnet_find_base_ndev(). syzbot reported use-after-free of net_device in __pnet_find_base_ndev(), which was called during connect(). [0] smc_pnet_find_ism_resource() fetches sk_dst_get(sk)->dev and passes down to pnet_find_base_ndev(), where RTNL is held. Then, UAF happened at __pnet_find_base_ndev() when the dev is first used. This means dev had already been freed before acquiring RTNL in pnet_find_base_ndev(). While dev is going away, dst->dev could be swapped with blackhole_netdev, and the dev's refcnt by dst will be released. We must hold dev's refcnt before calling smc_pnet_find_ism_resource(). Also, smc_pnet_find_roce_resource() has the same problem. Let's use __sk_dst_get() and dst_dev_rcu() in the two functions. | CVE-2026-68377 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | no CPE yet | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: act_tunnel_key: Defer dst_release to RCU callback Fix a race-condition use-after-free in tunnel_key_release_params(). The function releases the metadata_dst of the old params synchronously via dst_release() while deferring the params struct free with kfree_rcu(). A concurrent tunnel_key_act() reader on the datapath may still hold the old params pointer (under rcu_read_lock_bh) and proceed to call dst_clone(¶ms->tcft_enc_metadata->dst) after the writer's dst_release has already pushed the dst's rcuref to RCUREF_DEAD. | CVE-2026-64582 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | no CPE yet | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/rxe: Fix a use-after-free problem in rxe_mmap rxe_mmap() removes a rxe_mmap_info struct from the pending_mmaps list and releases pending_lock while the struct's kref is still at 1: list_del_init(&ip->pending_mmaps); spin_unlock_bh(&rxe->pending_lock); /* ref == 1, no lock held */ ret = remap_vmalloc_range(vma, ip->obj, 0); /* walks PTEs */ [...] rxe_vma_open(vma); /* kref_get, ref → 2 */ remap_vmalloc_range_partial() walks PTEs without any lock. A concurrent DESTROY_CQ ioctl on another CPU calls: kref_put(&q->ip->ref, rxe_mmap_release) /* ref 1→0 */ vfree(ip->obj) /* clears vmalloc PTEs mid-walk */ kfree(ip) /* frees rxe_mmap_info */ This yields: 1. Kernel crash, vmalloc_to_page() returns NULL when vfree wins the per-PTE race -> vm_insert_page(NULL) → GPF in validate_page_before_insert 2. Page UAF, vmalloc_to_page() reads a stale PTE before vfree clears it. User VMA holds a PTE to a free'd page which might eventually get reallocated later by vmalloc which allows the attacker to get a clean page-level UAF. It is worth noting that even though a page-level UAF is possible given the strong primitive, it is statistically very difficult to achieve given the very short time window (after the last insert_page and before the kref_get). | CVE-2026-53005 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | linux, linux_kernel | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: af_unix: Drop all SCM attributes for SOCKMAP. SOCKMAP can hide inflight fd from AF_UNIX GC. When a socket in SOCKMAP receives skb with inflight fd, sk_psock_verdict_data_ready() looks up the mapped socket and enqueue skb to its psock->ingress_skb. Since neither the old nor the new GC can inspect the psock queue, the hidden skb leaks the inflight sockets. Note that this cannot be detected via kmemleak because inflight sockets are linked to a global list. In addition, SOCKMAP redirect breaks the Tarjan-based GC's assumption that unix_edge.successor is always alive, which is no longer true once skb is redirected, resulting in use-after-free below. [0] Moreover, SOCKMAP does not call scm_stat_del() properly, so unix_show_fdinfo() could report an incorrect fd count. sk_msg_recvmsg() does not support any SCM attributes in the first place. Let's drop all SCM attributes before passing skb to the SOCKMAP layer. | CVE-2026-45970 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | linux, linux_kernel | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bonding: alb: fix UAF in rlb_arp_recv during bond up/down The ALB RX path may access rx_hashtbl concurrently with bond teardown. During rapid bond up/down cycles, rlb_deinitialize() frees rx_hashtbl while RX handlers are still running, leading to a null pointer dereference detected by KASAN. However, the root cause is that rlb_arp_recv() can still be accessed after setting recv_probe to NULL, which is actually a use-after-free (UAF) issue. Fix this by setting recv_probe to NULL and then calling synchronize_net() to wait for any concurrent RX processing to finish. This ensures that no RX handler can access rx_hashtbl after it is freed in bond_alb_deinitialize(). | 19 Oct |
| CVE-2026-43368 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | linux, linux_kernel | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/i915: Fix potential overflow of shmem scatterlist length When a scatterlists table of a GEM shmem object of size 4 GB or more is populated with pages allocated from a folio, unsigned int .length attribute of a scatterlist may get overflowed if total byte length of pages allocated to that single scatterlist happens to reach or cross the 4GB limit. As a consequence, users of the object may suffer from hitting unexpected, premature end of the object's backing pages. | CVE-2026-43278 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | linux, linux_kernel | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dm: clear cloned request bio pointer when last clone bio completes Stale rq->bio values have been observed to cause double-initialization of cloned bios in request-based device-mapper targets, leading to use-after-free and double-free scenarios. One such case occurs when using dm-multipath on top of a PCIe NVMe namespace, where cloned request bios are freed during blk_complete_request(), but rq->bio is left intact. Subsequent clone teardown then attempts to free the same bios again via blk_rq_unprep_clone(). The resulting double-free path looks like: nvme_pci_complete_batch() nvme_complete_batch() blk_mq_end_request_batch() blk_complete_request() // called on a DM clone request bio_endio() // first free of all clone bios ... rq->end_io() // end_clone_request() dm_complete_request(tio->orig) dm_softirq_done() dm_done() dm_end_request() blk_rq_unprep_clone() // second free of clone bios Fix this by clearing the clone request's bio pointer when the last cloned bio completes, ensuring that later teardown paths do not attempt to free already-released bios. | 19 Oct |
| CVE-2026-43016 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | linux, linux_kernel | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: sockmap: Fix use-after-free of sk->sk_socket in sk_psock_verdict_data_ready(). syzbot reported use-after-free of AF_UNIX socket's sk->sk_socket in sk_psock_verdict_data_ready(). | CVE-2026-31508 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | linux, linux_kernel | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: openvswitch: Avoid releasing netdev before teardown completes The patch cited in the Fixes tag below changed the teardown code for OVS ports to no longer unconditionally take the RTNL. After this change, the netdev_destroy() callback can proceed immediately to the call_rcu() invocation if the IFF_OVS_DATAPATH flag is already cleared on the netdev. The ovs_netdev_detach_dev() function clears the flag before completing the unregistration, and if it gets preempted after clearing the flag (as can happen on an -rt kernel), netdev_destroy() can complete and the device can be freed before the unregistration completes. This leads to a splat like: [ 998.393867] Oops: general protection fault, probably for non-canonical address 0xff00000001000239: 0000 [#1] SMP PTI [ 998.393877] CPU: 42 UID: 0 PID: 55177 Comm: ip Kdump: loaded Not tainted 6.12.0-211.1.1.el10_2.x86_64+rt #1 PREEMPT_RT [ 998.393886] Hardware name: Dell Inc. | CVE-2026-23428 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | linux, linux_kernel | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: fix use-after-free of share_conf in compound request smb2_get_ksmbd_tcon() reuses work->tcon in compound requests without validating tcon->t_state. ksmbd_tree_conn_lookup() checks t_state == TREE_CONNECTED on the initial lookup path, but the compound reuse path bypasses this check entirely. If a prior command in the compound (SMB2_TREE_DISCONNECT) sets t_state to TREE_DISCONNECTED and frees share_conf via ksmbd_share_config_put(), subsequent commands dereference the freed share_conf through work->tcon->share_conf. After adding a temporary mdelay(1000) in macvlan_forward_source_one() to open the race window, valis repro was: ip link add p1 type veth peer p2 ip link set address 00:00:00:00:00:20 dev p1 ip link set up dev p1 ip link set up dev p2 ip link add mv0 link p2 type macvlan mode source (ip link add invalid% link p2 type macvlan mode source macaddr add 00:00:00:00:00:20 &) ; sleep 0.5 ; ping -c1 -I p1 1.2.3.4 PING 1.2.3.4 (1.2.3.4): 56 data bytes RTNETLINK answers: Invalid argument BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in macvlan_forward_source (drivers/net/macvlan.c:408 drivers/net/macvlan.c:444) Read of size 8 at addr ffff888016bb89c0 by task e/175 CPU: 1 UID: 1000 PID: 175 Comm: e Not tainted 6.19.0-rc8+ #33 NONE Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS 1.14.0-2 04/01/2014 Call Trace: <IRQ> dump_stack_lvl (lib/dump_stack.c:123) print_report (mm/kasan/report.c:379 mm/kasan/report.c:482) ? macvlan_forward_source (drivers/net/macvlan.c:408 drivers/net/macvlan.c:444) kasan_report (mm/kasan/report.c:597) ? macvlan_forward_source (drivers/net/macvlan.c:408 drivers/net/macvlan.c:444) macvlan_forward_source (drivers/net/macvlan.c:408 drivers/net/macvlan.c:444) ? tasklet_init (kernel/softirq.c:983) macvlan_handle_frame (drivers/net/macvlan.c:501) Allocated by task 169: kasan_save_stack (mm/kasan/common.c:58) kasan_save_track (./arch/x86/include/asm/current.h:25 mm/kasan/common.c:70 mm/kasan/common.c:79) __kasan_kmalloc (mm/kasan/common.c:419) __kvmalloc_node_noprof (./include/linux/kasan.h:263 mm/slub.c:5657 mm/slub.c:7140) alloc_netdev_mqs (net/core/dev.c:12012) rtnl_create_link (net/core/rtnetlink.c:3648) rtnl_newlink (net/core/rtnetlink.c:3830 net/core/rtnetlink.c:3957 net/core/rtnetlink.c:4072) rtnetlink_rcv_msg (net/core/rtnetlink.c:6958) netlink_rcv_skb (net/netlink/af_netlink.c:2550) netlink_unicast (net/netlink/af_netlink.c:1319 net/netlink/af_netlink.c:1344) netlink_sendmsg (net/netlink/af_netlink.c:1894) __sys_sendto (net/socket.c:727 net/socket.c:742 net/socket.c:2206) __x64_sys_sendto (net/socket.c:2209) do_syscall_64 (arch/x86/entry/syscall_64.c:63 arch/x86/entry/syscall_64.c:94) entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe (arch/x86/entry/entry_64.S:131) Freed by task 169: kasan_save_stack (mm/kasan/common.c:58) kasan_save_track (./arch/x86/include/asm/current.h:25 mm/kasan/common.c:70 mm/kasan/common.c:79) kasan_save_free_info (mm/kasan/generic.c:587) __kasan_slab_free (mm/kasan/common.c:287) kfree (mm/slub.c:6674 mm/slub.c:6882) rtnl_newlink (net/core/rtnetlink.c:3845 net/core/rtnetlink.c:3957 net/core/rtnetlink.c:4072) rtnetlink_rcv_msg (net/core/rtnetlink.c:6958) netlink_rcv_skb (net/netlink/af_netlink.c:2550) netlink_unicast (net/netlink/af_netlink.c:1319 net/netlink/af_netlink.c:1344) netlink_sendmsg (net/netlink/af_netlink.c:1894) __sys_sendto (net/socket.c:727 net/socket.c:742 net/socket.c:2206) __x64_sys_sendto (net/socket.c:2209) do_syscall_64 (arch/x86/entry/syscall_64.c:63 arch/x86/entry/syscall_64.c:94) entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe (arch/x86/entry/entry_64.S:131) | 19 Oct |
| CVE-2026-23171 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | linux, linux_kernel | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bonding: fix use-after-free due to enslave fail after slave array update Fix a use-after-free which happens due to enslave failure after the new slave has been added to the array. Since the new slave can be used for Tx immediately, we can use it after it has been freed by the enslave error cleanup path which frees the allocated slave memory. Slave update array is supposed to be called last when further enslave failures are not expected. Move it after xdp setup to avoid any problems. It is very easy to reproduce the problem with a simple xdp_pass prog: ip l add bond1 type bond mode balance-xor ip l set bond1 up ip l set dev bond1 xdp object xdp_pass.o sec xdp_pass ip l add dumdum type dummy Then run in parallel: while :; do ip l set dumdum master bond1 1>/dev/null 2>&1; done; mausezahn bond1 -a own -b rand -A rand -B 1.1.1.1 -c 0 -t tcp "dp=1-1023, flags=syn" The crash happens almost immediately: [ 605.602850] Oops: general protection fault, probably for non-canonical address 0xe0e6fc2460000137: 0000 [#1] SMP KASAN NOPTI [ 605.602916] KASAN: maybe wild-memory-access in range [0x07380123000009b8-0x07380123000009bf] [ 605.602946] CPU: 0 UID: 0 PID: 2445 Comm: mausezahn Kdump: loaded Tainted: G B 6.19.0-rc6+ #21 PREEMPT(voluntary) [ 605.602979] Tainted: [B]=BAD_PAGE [ 605.602998] Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (Q35 + ICH9, 2009), BIOS 1.16.3-debian-1.16.3-2 04/01/2014 [ 605.603032] RIP: 0010:netdev_core_pick_tx+0xcd/0x210 [ 605.603063] Code: 48 89 fa 48 c1 ea 03 80 3c 02 00 0f 85 3e 01 00 00 48 b8 00 00 00 00 00 fc ff df 4c 8b 6b 08 49 8d 7d 30 48 89 fa 48 c1 ea 03 <80> 3c 02 00 0f 85 25 01 00 00 49 8b 45 30 4c 89 e2 48 89 ee 48 89 [ 605.603111] RSP: 0018:ffff88817b9af348 EFLAGS: 00010213 [ 605.603145] RAX: dffffc0000000000 RBX: ffff88817d28b420 RCX: 0000000000000000 [ 605.603172] RDX: 00e7002460000137 RSI: 0000000000000008 RDI: 07380123000009be [ 605.603199] RBP: ffff88817b541a00 R08: 0000000000000001 R09: fffffbfff3ed8c0c [ 605.603226] R10: ffffffff9f6c6067 R11: 0000000000000001 R12: 0000000000000000 [ 605.603253] R13: 073801230000098e R14: ffff88817d28b448 R15: ffff88817b541a84 [ 605.603286] FS: 00007f6570ef67c0(0000) GS:ffff888221dfa000(0000) knlGS:0000000000000000 [ 605.603319] CS: 0010 DS: 0000 ES: 0000 CR0: 0000000080050033 [ 605.603343] CR2: 00007f65712fae40 CR3: 000000011371b000 CR4: 0000000000350ef0 [ 605.603373] Call Trace: [ 605.603392] <TASK> [ 605.603410] __dev_queue_xmit+0x448/0x32a0 [ 605.603434] ? __pfx_vprintk_emit+0x10/0x10 [ 605.603461] ? __pfx_vprintk_emit+0x10/0x10 [ 605.603484] ? __pfx___dev_queue_xmit+0x10/0x10 [ 605.603507] ? bond_start_xmit+0xbfb/0xc20 [bonding] [ 605.603546] ? _printk+0xcb/0x100 [ 605.603566] ? __pfx__printk+0x10/0x10 [ 605.603589] ? bond_start_xmit+0xbfb/0xc20 [bonding] [ 605.603627] ? add_taint+0x5e/0x70 [ 605.603648] ? add_taint+0x2a/0x70 [ 605.603670] ? end_report.cold+0x51/0x75 [ 605.603693] ? bond_start_xmit+0xbfb/0xc20 [bonding] [ 605.603731] bond_start_xmit+0x623/0xc20 [bonding] | 19 Oct |

| CVE-2025-68801 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | no CPE yet | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mlxsw: spectrum_router: Fix neighbour use-after-free We sometimes observe use-after-free when dereferencing a neighbour [1]. The problem seems to be that the driver stores a pointer to the neighbour, but without holding a reference on it. A reference is only taken when the neighbour is used by a nexthop. Fix by simplifying the reference counting scheme. Always take a reference when storing a neighbour pointer in a neighbour entry. Avoid taking a referencing when the neighbour is used by a nexthop as the neighbour entry associated with the nexthop already holds a reference. Tested by running the test that uncovered the problem over 300 times. Without this patch the problem was reproduced after a handful of iterations. | CVE-2025-68800 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | no CPE yet | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mlxsw: spectrum_mr: Fix use-after-free when updating multicast route stats Cited commit added a dedicated mutex (instead of RTNL) to protect the multicast route list, so that it will not change while the driver periodically traverses it in order to update the kernel about multicast route stats that were queried from the device. One instance of list entry deletion (during route replace) was missed and it can result in a use-after-free [1]. Fix by acquiring the mutex before deleting the entry from the list and releasing it afterwards. | CVE-2025-68793 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | no CPE yet | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: fix a job->pasid access race in gpu recovery Avoid a possible UAF in GPU recovery due to a race between the sched timeout callback and the tdr work queue. The gpu recovery function calls drm_sched_stop() and later drm_sched_start(). drm_sched_start() restarts the tdr queue which will eventually free the job. If the tdr queue frees the job before time out callback completes, the job will be freed and we'll get a UAF when accessing the pasid. Cache it early to avoid the UAF. If allocated memory contains only zeros, then everything will work pretty fine. But if the allocated memory contains the "garbage", then it can affect the bitmap operations and it triggers the reported issue. This patch simply exchanges the kmalloc() on kzalloc() with the goal to guarantee the correctness of bitmap operations. Because, newly created allocation bitmap should have all available blocks free. Potentially, initialization bitmap's read operation could not fill the whole allocated memory and "garbage" in the not initialized memory will be the reason of volume coruptions and file system driver bugs. | 19 Oct |
