| CVE-2022-3715 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | gnu, redhat, bash, enterprise_linux | A flaw was found in the bash package, where a heap-buffer overflow can occur in valid parameter_transform. This issue may lead to memory problems. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2019-6488 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | gnu, glibc | The string component in the GNU C Library (aka glibc or libc6) through 2.28, when running on the x32 architecture, incorrectly attempts to use a 64-bit register for size_t in assembly codes, which can lead to a segmentation fault or possibly unspecified other impact, as demonstrated by a crash in __memmove_avx_unaligned_erms in sysdeps/x86_64/multiarch/memmove-vec-unaligned-erms.S during a memcpy. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2025-66863 | 7.5 high | 0.00% | gnu, binutils | An issue was discovered in function d_discriminator in file cp-demangle.c in BinUtils 2.26 allows attackers to cause a denial of service via crafted PE file. | 13 Oct |
| CVE-2025-66864 | 7.5 high | 0.00% | gnu, binutils | An issue was discovered in function d_print_comp_inner in file cp-demangle.c in BinUtils 2.26 allows attackers to cause a denial of service via crafted PE file. | 13 Oct |
| CVE-2025-66865 | 7.5 high | 0.00% | gnu, binutils | An issue was discovered in function d_print_comp_inner in file cp-demangle.c in BinUtils 2.26 allows attackers to cause a denial of service via crafted PE file. | 13 Oct |
| CVE-2025-66866 | 7.5 high | 0.00% | gnu, binutils | An issue was discovered in function d_abi_tags in file cp-demangle.c in BinUtils 2.26 allows attackers to cause a denial of service via crafted PE file. | 13 Oct |
| CVE-2026-118905 | 7.1 high | — | nvm-sh, nvm | Node Version Manager (nvm) is a POSIX-compliant shell function for managing multiple node.js versions. In versions 0.31.2 through 0.40.5, `nvm_ls` filters installed versions with a sed program that embeds the requested version pattern in a `\#...#` address, escaping `.` (and, since 0.40.4, `#`) but not backslash. A version string containing `#` (or `\#`) therefore closes the address early, and the rest of it is parsed as sed commands: with GNU sed, the `e` command runs a shell command as the user; with BSD sed, the `w` and `r` commands write and read files. This is reachable whenever an attacker-influenced version string is passed to `nvm use`, `nvm which`, `nvm ls`, `nvm version`, `nvm run`, or `nvm exec`, or to `nvm-exec` via `NODE_VERSION`, and at least one version is installed. nvm's own `.nvmrc` parser strips comments, so a bare `nvm use` is not affected; however, the bash `cdnvm` and zsh `load-nvmrc` auto-switch hooks documented in the README read `.nvmrc` as-is and pass it to `nvm ls` and `nvm version`, so a user with one of those hooks installed runs the attacker's command just by changing into a directory under a malicious `.nvmrc`; scripts that run `nvm use "$(cat .nvmrc)"` are affected the same way. Version 0.40.6 passes any version pattern containing `#` or a newline through the `.nvmrc` content parser first, so no `#` reaches the sed program. | 15 h ago |
| CVE-2026-6861 | 7.1 high | 0.00% | gnu, emacs | A flaw was found in GNU Emacs. This vulnerability, a memory corruption issue, occurs when Emacs processes specially crafted SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) data. A local user could exploit this by convincing a victim to open a malicious SVG file, which may lead to a denial of service (DoS) or potentially information disclosure. | Mon 26 Oct |
| CVE-2026-89459 | 7.0 high | 0.00% | no CPE yet | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: s390/percpu: Fix MVIY_PERCPU() with older binutils Commit a737737cdb9c ("s390/percpu: Infrastructure for more efficient this_cpu operations") introduced MVIY_PERCPU(), which stringifies arguments that are already C string literals. This generates an assembler macro invocation with whitespace-separated quoted arguments: GEN_MVIY "459712" "%r3" GNU as versions prior to binutils 2.39 drop the separating whitespace between quoted macro arguments during input scrubbing. They consequently parse the invocation as a single argument and emit repeated warnings: Warning: missing closing `"' The .ifc in GEN_MVIY never matches and GNU as exits successfully without emitting the mviy instruction. As a result, the interrupted per-CPU sequence is not marked in lowcore and the exception return path cannot repair the per-CPU address register after migration. All MVIY_PERCPU() callers pass C string literals. Use them directly and separate the assembler macro arguments with an explicit comma. The resulting invocation is: GEN_MVIY 459712, %r3 This form is unambiguous for GNU as and LLVM's integrated assembler. This behavior was fixed in GNU as from binutils 2.39, but Linux supports binutils 2.30. | 19 Oct |
| CVE-2026-53655 | 6.9 medium | 0.00% | isaacs, tar | node-tar is a full-featured Tar for Node.js. Prior to 7.5.16, tar (node-tar) applies a PAX extended header's size= record (and other PAX overrides) to the next header entry of any type, including intermediary metadata headers such as a GNU long-name (L) or long-link (K) entry. Per POSIX pax, a PAX extended header (x) describes the next file entry, not the intermediary extension headers that may sit between the x header and the file it annotates. Because node-tar lets the PAX size override the byte length of an intervening L/K/x header, an attacker can desynchronize node-tar's stream cursor relative to every other mainstream tar implementation (GNU tar, libarchive/bsdtar, Python tarfile, and the now-fixed tar-rs / astral-tokio-tar). The result is a tar parser interpretation differential (CWE-436): a single crafted archive yields a different set of members under node-tar than under the reference tar tools. An attacker can use this to hide a member from one parser while it is visible to another, which defeats security tooling whose scanner and extractor disagree on archive contents (e.g. a malware/secret scanner that lists entries with one library while a downstream step extracts with another) This vulnerability is fixed in 7.5.16. | Sun 25 Oct |
| CVE-2026-58470 | 6.9 medium | 0.00% | gnu, wget | GNU Wget through 1.25.0, fixed in commit 43d3ba9, contains an integer overflow vulnerability in the parse_content_range() function within src/http.c that allows server-controlled values to cause signed integer arithmetic to overflow. Attackers can supply malicious Content-Range header values to trigger undefined behavior and download desynchronization in the affected client. | Sun 25 Oct |
| CVE-2026-111167 | 6.9 medium | 0.00% | no CPE yet | GNU LibreDWG through 0.14.8612 contains a global out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the AcDs decoder acds_private() that allows attackers to read beyond a static table via an unchecked schema property type index. Attackers can supply a crafted R2004 or R2010+ DWG file with a large 'schdat' property type value to crash dwgread, dwg2dxf, or any application using LibreDWG. | 16 Oct |
| CVE-2026-77219 | 6.9 medium | 0.00% | no CPE yet | GNU Emacs before 31.0.91 contains an integer overflow in the PBM/PPM/PGM image loader that allows an attacker to leak heap memory contents by supplying a crafted image with large dimensions and an elevated max color index. The image loader multiplies image dimensions and channel count using signed integer arithmetic; for sufficiently large values, the result wraps to a negative number, bypassing the bounds check and causing the pixel reader to access heap memory past the end of the allocated buffer. The over-read contents are interpreted as pixel color values and rendered on screen. | 12 Oct |
| CVE-2026-56389 | 6.8 medium | 0.00% | gnu, bison | GNU Bison allows for an execution of an arbitrary program during HTML report generation due to improper handling of grammar-defined configuration variables. A grammar file can override the executable used for the XML‑to‑HTML transformation step via %define tool.xsltproc, which is accepted without restriction and passed directly to execvp(). When running bison --html on a attacker-provided grammar, this behavior allows execution of an arbitrary program with the privileges of the Bison process. Maintainers of this project were notified about this vulnerability, and fixed the issue in commit 3169c1e7a2c6acc4c59dfcf8b089896d6881925b. However, they did not provide vulnerable version range. Version 3.8.2 was tested and confirmed as vulnerable, other versions were not tested but might also be vulnerable. | Fri 23 Oct |
| CVE-2024-45777 | 6.7 medium | 0.00% | gnu, redhat, grub2, openshift, enterprise_linux | A flaw was found in grub2. The calculation of the translation buffer when reading a language .mo file in grub_gettext_getstr_from_position() may overflow, leading to a Out-of-bound write. This issue can be leveraged by an attacker to overwrite grub2's sensitive heap data, eventually leading to the circumvention of secure boot protections. | 21 Oct |
| CVE-2024-45780 | 6.7 medium | 0.00% | gnu, grub2 | A flaw was found in grub2. When reading tar files, grub2 allocates an internal buffer for the file name. However, it fails to properly verify the allocation against possible integer overflows. It's possible to cause the allocation length to overflow with a crafted tar file, leading to a heap out-of-bounds write. This flaw eventually allows an attacker to circumvent secure boot protections. | 21 Oct |
| CVE-2024-5742 | 6.7 medium | 0.00% | gnu, redhat, nano, enterprise_linux | A vulnerability was found in GNU Nano that allows a possible privilege escalation through an insecure temporary file. If Nano is killed while editing, a file it saves to an emergency file with the permissions of the running user provides a window of opportunity for attackers to escalate privileges through a malicious symlink. | 15 Oct |
| CVE-2026-35350 | 6.6 medium | 0.00% | uutils, coreutils | The cp utility in uutils coreutils fails to properly handle setuid and setgid bits when ownership preservation fails. When copying with the -p (preserve) flag, the utility applies the source mode bits even if the chown operation is unsuccessful. This can result in a user-owned copy retaining original privileged bits, creating unexpected privileged executables that violate local security policies. This differs from GNU cp, which clears these bits when ownership cannot be preserved. | Mon 26 Oct |
| CVE-2026-9153 | 6.5 medium | 0.00% | gnu, sed | Arbitrary File Read vulnerability in Rapid7 InsightConnect Sed Plugin on Linux allows authenticated attackers to read arbitrary files via the expression parameter due to insufficient input validation. | Sun 25 Oct |
| CVE-2026-9154 | 6.5 medium | 0.00% | gnu, sed | Arbitrary File Write vulnerability in Rapid7 InsightConnect Sed Plugin on Linux allows authenticated attackers to write attacker-controlled content to arbitrary file paths via the expression parameter. | Sun 25 Oct |
| CVE-2025-0686 | 6.4 medium | 0.00% | gnu, grub2 | A flaw was found in grub2. When performing a symlink lookup from a romfs filesystem, grub's romfs filesystem module uses user-controlled parameters from the filesystem geometry to determine the internal buffer size, however, it improperly checks for integer overflows. A maliciously crafted filesystem may lead some of those buffer size calculations to overflow, causing it to perform a grub_malloc() operation with a smaller size than expected. As a result, the grub_romfs_read_symlink() may cause out-of-bounds writes when the calling grub_disk_read() function. This issue may be leveraged to corrupt grub's internal critical data and can result in arbitrary code execution by-passing secure boot protections. | 21 Oct |
| CVE-2025-0685 | 6.4 medium | 0.00% | gnu, grub2 | A flaw was found in grub2. When reading data from a jfs filesystem, grub's jfs filesystem module uses user-controlled parameters from the filesystem geometry to determine the internal buffer size, however, it improperly checks for integer overflows. A maliciouly crafted filesystem may lead some of those buffer size calculations to overflow, causing it to perform a grub_malloc() operation with a smaller size than expected. As a result, the grub_jfs_lookup_symlink() function will write past the internal buffer length during grub_jfs_read_file(). This issue can be leveraged to corrupt grub's internal critical data and may result in arbitrary code execution, by-passing secure boot protections. | 21 Oct |
| CVE-2025-0684 | 6.4 medium | 0.00% | gnu, grub2 | A flaw was found in grub2. When performing a symlink lookup from a reiserfs filesystem, grub's reiserfs fs module uses user-controlled parameters from the filesystem geometry to determine the internal buffer size, however, it improperly checks for integer overflows. A maliciouly crafted filesystem may lead some of those buffer size calculations to overflow, causing it to perform a grub_malloc() operation with a smaller size than expected. As a result, the grub_reiserfs_read_symlink() will call grub_reiserfs_read_real() with a overflown length parameter, leading to a heap based out-of-bounds write during data reading. This flaw may be leveraged to corrupt grub's internal critical data and can result in arbitrary code execution, by-passing secure boot protections. | 21 Oct |
| CVE-2026-118384 | 6.1 medium | 0.00% | no CPE yet | GNU mtools through 4.0.49 has an out-of-bounds write in parse_vses in vfat.c. | Wed 28 Oct |
| CVE-2026-58471 | 6.0 medium | 0.00% | gnu, wget | GNU Wget through 1.25.0, fixed in commit c2640fe, contains a heap buffer overflow vulnerability in the convert_fname() function within src/url.c that allows remote attackers to trigger memory corruption through a server-supplied filename requiring character set conversion. When the output buffer is too small during iconv E2BIG reallocation, the reallocation logic miscalculates the remaining space, leading to a heap buffer overflow that can be exploited via a maliciously crafted server response. | Sun 25 Oct |
| CVE-2026-58472 | 6.0 medium | 0.00% | gnu, wget | GNU Wget through 1.25.0, fixed in commit dd692d9, contains a heap buffer overflow vulnerability in the html_quote_string() function in src/convert.c that allows a remote attacker to trigger memory corruption by supplying a crafted HTML attribute with a large number of characters requiring entity encoding. A server-supplied HTML attribute causes a signed integer counter to overflow during output size accumulation, resulting in an undersized heap allocation and subsequent heap buffer overflow during the copy phase. | Sun 25 Oct |
| CVE-2024-45779 | 6.0 medium | 0.00% | gnu, grub2 | An integer overflow flaw was found in the BFS file system driver in grub2. When reading a file with an indirect extent map, grub2 fails to validate the number of extent entries to be read. A crafted or corrupted BFS filesystem may cause an integer overflow during the file reading, leading to a heap of bounds read. As a consequence, sensitive data may be leaked, or grub2 will crash. | 21 Oct |
| CVE-2026-15146 | 5.9 medium | 0.00% | no CPE yet | GNU Wget versions < 1.25.0+4f85853f64 do not validate the IP address provided by an FTP PASV response while operating in FTP passive mode. A malicious FTP server, or an HTTP server that redirects to an FTP URL, can exploit this behavior to redirect Wget’s data connection to an arbitrary IP address and port. This allows an attacker to forge server-side requests (SSRF) from the machine running Wget, potentially accessing localhost services or internal network resources. | 3 h ago |
| CVE-2026-96596 | 5.9 medium | 0.00% | no CPE yet | Loop with Unreachable Exit Condition ('Infinite Loop') vulnerability in Erlang OTP stdlib (erl_tar module), hexpm hex_core (hex_erl_tar module), hexpm hex (mix_hex_erl_tar module) and erlang rebar3 (r3_hex_erl_tar module) allows an attacker who supplies a tar archive to cause a denial of service via a crafted GNU sparse member. When erl_tar:extract/1,2 writes a member to disk, erl_tar:stream_to_file_loop/3 reads it in chunks of 65536 bytes by default. For a GNU sparse member whose sparse map ends before its real size, erl_tar:do_sparse_read/3 matches its trailing-hole clause before its zero-length clause. After the chunk is used up, the trailing-hole clause reads zero bytes, does not advance the position, and recurses forever. A 2048-byte archive keeps the extracting process and one scheduler busy until the process is killed. The {max_size, N} option prevents this only when N is below the real size of the member. Extraction with the memory option is not affected. hex_core ships its own copy of erl_tar as hex_erl_tar, and Hex and rebar3 ship hex_core with prefixed module names (mix_hex_erl_tar and r3_hex_erl_tar). These copies contain the same code and do not call stdlib's erl_tar, so they are affected on any OTP version. OTP 28 is not affected, but an application running on OTP 28 is affected if it extracts archives through an affected version of hex_core, Hex or rebar3. This issue affects OTP from OTP 29.0 before OTP 29.1.2, corresponding to rebar3 from 3.27.1 before 3.28.0, and stdlib from 8.0 before 8.1.1, and hex from 2.4.2 before 2.5.3; hex_core: from 0.14.0 before 0.20.1. | 22 Oct |
| CVE-2026-103658 | 5.9 medium | 0.00% | no CPE yet | GNU Aspell 0.60.8.2 (first vulnerable version is not known) contains a heap-based buffer overflow write (CWE-122) in its read-only dictionary loader. String::reserve() in common/string.hpp computes its capacity check with a signed int ((int)s + 1), so a requested size of 0x7FFFFFFF wraps negative and the backing buffer is never grown. ReadOnlyDict::load() in modules/speller/default/readonly_ws.cpp passes the unvalidated 32-bit size fields from a .rws dictionary header into this path, so a crafted .rws file with a valid endian marker (12345678) and an oversized length field (e.g. lang_name_size = 0x7FFFFFFF) causes attacker-controlled data to be written out of bounds past an undersized heap allocation. An attacker who induces a victim to load a malicious dictionary — for example via aspell dump master <file> — can corrupt heap memory, resulting in denial of service and potentially code execution. Fixed in b830b6e and will be fixed in release 0.60.8.3. | 16 Oct |
| CVE-2026-115207 | 5.5 medium | 0.00% | no CPE yet | A flaw was found in GNU patch. An attacker can achieve arbitrary file creation outside the intended working directory by enticing a user or automated workflow to apply a specially crafted patch file. Due to missing validation during automatic patch reversal, absolute file paths in patch headers are accepted rather than rejected. Consequently, the utility can create files in arbitrary locations with the permissions of the executing user. | Wed 28 Oct |
| CVE-2026-5704 | 5.5 medium | 0.00% | gnu, redhat, tar, hardened_images, enterprise_linux | A flaw was found in tar. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by crafting a malicious archive, leading to hidden file injection with fully attacker-controlled content. This bypasses pre-extraction inspection mechanisms, potentially allowing an attacker to introduce malicious files onto a system without detection. | Mon 26 Oct |
| CVE-2026-6843 | 5.5 medium | 0.00% | gnu, redhat, nano, openshift_container_platform, enterprise_linux | A flaw was found in nano. A local user could exploit a format string vulnerability in the `statusline()` function. By creating a directory with a name containing `printf` specifiers, the application attempts to display this name, leading to a segmentation fault (SEGV). This results in a Denial of Service (DoS) for the `nano` application. | Mon 26 Oct |
| CVE-2026-6844 | 5.5 medium | 0.00% | gnu, redhat, binutils, hardened_images, openshift_container_platform | A flaw was found in the `readelf` utility of the binutils package. A local attacker could exploit two Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerabilities by providing a specially crafted Executable and Linkable Format (ELF) file. One vulnerability, a resource exhaustion (CWE-400), can lead to an out-of-memory condition. The other, a null pointer dereference (CWE-476), can cause a segmentation fault. Both issues can result in the `readelf` utility becoming unresponsive or crashing, leading to a denial of service. | Mon 26 Oct |
| CVE-2026-35348 | 5.5 medium | 0.00% | uutils, coreutils | The sort utility in uutils coreutils is vulnerable to a process panic when using the --files0-from option with inputs containing non-UTF-8 filenames. The implementation enforces UTF-8 encoding and utilizes expect(), causing an immediate crash when encountering valid but non-UTF-8 paths. This diverges from GNU sort, which treats filenames as raw bytes. A local attacker can exploit this to crash the utility and disrupt automated pipelines. | Mon 26 Oct |
| CVE-2026-35373 | 5.5 medium | 0.00% | uutils, coreutils | A logic error in the ln utility of uutils coreutils causes the program to reject source paths containing non-UTF-8 filename bytes when using target-directory forms (e.g., ln SOURCE... DIRECTORY). While GNU ln treats filenames as raw bytes and creates the links correctly, the uutils implementation enforces UTF-8 encoding, resulting in a failure to stat the file and a non-zero exit code. In environments where automated scripts or system tasks process valid but non-UTF-8 filenames common on Unix filesystems, this divergence causes the utility to fail, leading to a local denial of service for those specific operations. | Mon 26 Oct |
| CVE-2026-35369 | 5.5 medium | 0.00% | uutils, coreutils | An argument parsing error in the kill utility of uutils coreutils incorrectly interprets kill -1 as a request to send the default signal (SIGTERM) to PID -1. Sending a signal to PID -1 causes the kernel to terminate all processes visible to the caller, potentially leading to a system crash or massive process termination. This differs from GNU coreutils, which correctly recognizes -1 as a signal number in this context and would instead report a missing PID argument. | Sun 25 Oct |
| CVE-2024-45778 | 5.5 medium | 0.00% | gnu, redhat, grub2, openshift_container_platform, enterprise_linux | A stack overflow flaw was found when reading a BFS file system. A crafted BFS filesystem may lead to an uncontrolled loop, causing grub2 to crash. | 21 Oct |
| CVE-2025-39903 | 5.5 medium | 0.00% | linux, linux_kernel | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: of_numa: fix uninitialized memory nodes causing kernel panic When there are memory-only nodes (nodes without CPUs), these nodes are not properly initialized, causing kernel panic during boot. of_numa_init of_numa_parse_cpu_nodes node_set(nid, numa_nodes_parsed); of_numa_parse_memory_nodes In of_numa_parse_cpu_nodes, numa_nodes_parsed gets updated only for nodes containing CPUs. Memory-only nodes should have been updated in of_numa_parse_memory_nodes, but they weren't. | CVE-2023-39128 | 5.5 medium | 0.00% | gnu, gdb | GNU gdb (GDB) 13.0.50.20220805-git was discovered to contain a stack overflow via the function ada_decode at /gdb/ada-lang.c. | 15 Oct |
| CVE-2026-19548 | 5.5 medium | 0.00% | redhat, hardened_images, openshift_container_platform, enterprise_linux | Multiple Use-After-Free vulnerabilities were found in the add_archive_element function in ld/ldmain.c of the GNU linker (ld), a component of binutils. The root cause is that plugin_maybe_claim() in ld/plugin.c frees the original BFD object via bfd_close/_bfd_delete_bfd when entry->the_bfd->my_archive == NULL, but the caller retains both the original abfd parameter and a shallow copy (orig_input.the_bfd) as dangling pointers. These dangling pointers are subsequently dereferenced at three distinct locations in add_archive_element: 1. Line ~1442: accessing abfd->my_archive via bfd_usrdata(abfd->my_archive) 2. Line ~1493: multiple accesses to abfd and abfd->my_archive in a conditional check and bfd_get_filename call 3. Line ~1525: dereferencing the shallow copy orig_input.the_bfd->my_archive in trace/verbose logging The vulnerability is triggered when LTO plugins are active (link_info.lto_plugin_active is true) and the input object has abfd->my_archive == NULL, which is a valid state for standalone object files. Red Hat builds binutils with --enable-plugins and --enable-lto, confirming the vulnerable code path is compiled in and reachable. An attacker who can supply a crafted object or archive file to a build process using LTO-enabled linking could exploit this flaw to cause a denial of service (linker crash via segmentation fault). Arbitrary code execution is theoretically possible through heap manipulation but is substantially mitigated by hardening measures including stack protector, FORTIFY_SOURCE, ASLR, and PIE. The attack surface is limited to build-time environments — the linker is a development tool not exposed in production runtime. The most realistic exploitation scenario is a supply chain attack introducing a crafted object file as a build dependency in CI/CD pipelines or development environments. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2026-35345 | 5.3 medium | 0.00% | uutils, coreutils | A vulnerability in the tail utility of uutils coreutils allows for the exfiltration of sensitive file contents when using the --follow=name option. Unlike GNU tail, the uutils implementation continues to monitor a path after it has been replaced by a symbolic link, subsequently outputting the contents of the link's target. In environments where a privileged user (e.g., root) monitors a log directory, a local attacker with write access to that directory can replace a log file with a symlink to a sensitive system file (such as /etc/shadow), causing tail to disclose the contents of the sensitive file. | Mon 26 Oct |
| CVE-2026-56968 | 5.3 medium | 0.00% | gnu, debian, sasl, debian_linux | GNU SASL before 2.2.4 lacks sanitization of a short challenge in _gsasl_ntlm_client_step in the NTLM client, which could result in memory disclosure via a crafted server. | Sun 25 Oct |
| CVE-2026-71394 | 5.3 medium | 0.00% | no CPE yet | GNU Emacs for Android improperly validates the table header input in sfnt_read_table_directory() in src/sfnt.c. Due to an incorrect comparison variable in the read-length check, a crafted font file that claims to contain more table directory entries than actually present causes the parser to return a struct with uninitialized heap memory in the table directory entries. An attacker can deliver a malicious font file via email, EWW (Emacs Web Wowser), or documents with custom faces, causing Emacs to load it. This leads to the use of uninitialized heap data in subsequent table lookups, potentially resulting in information disclosure, crashes, or arbitrary memory access on 32-bit targets. This issue is fixed after commit 7621ee1d01229d50e5c0cddea6bf0b01095a62cf | Sat 24 Oct |
| CVE-2026-12565 | 5.3 medium | 0.00% | no CPE yet | The unarchive internal module's archive extraction commands perform no code-level validation on extracted file paths, relying entirely on the behavior of external tools (e.g. GNU tar) which varies by platform. While CVE-2025-10284 addressed git-specific RCE vectors, the underlying archive extraction path traversal was never fixed. On systems with GNU tar < 1.34 (Ubuntu 20.04, Debian Buster, CentOS 7, many Docker base images), a malicious archive can write files outside the intended extraction directory. | Fri 23 Oct |
| CVE-2016-10739 | 5.3 medium | 0.00% | gnu, opensuse, glibc, leap | In the GNU C Library (aka glibc or libc6) through 2.28, the getaddrinfo function would successfully parse a string that contained an IPv4 address followed by whitespace and arbitrary characters, which could lead applications to incorrectly assume that it had parsed a valid string, without the possibility of embedded HTTP headers or other potentially dangerous substrings. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2026-50643 | 5.1 medium | 0.00% | no CPE yet | 8cc is vulnerable to an Out‑of‑Bounds Read due to improper handling of #line directives and GNU linemarkers. The compiler accepts attacker-controlled filename and line number metadata and later uses it without validation when accessing source line arrays. By supplying invalid or oversized line numbers, an attacker can trigger out-of-bounds memory access and a crash. Maintainer of this project was notified early about this vulnerability, but didn't respond with the details of vulnerability or vulnerable version range. Version corresponding to the commit b480958 was tested and confirmed as vulnerable, other versions were not tested but might also be vulnerable. | Mon 26 Oct |
| CVE-2026-109831 | 5.1 medium | 0.00% | no CPE yet | UnRTF by GNU Project is vulnerable to out-of-bounds write. If a user opens an RTF file crafted by an attacker, it may lead to a denial-of-service (DoS) condition. | 20 Oct |
| CVE-2026-6845 | 5.0 medium | 0.00% | gnu, redhat, binutils, hardened_images, openshift_container_platform | A flaw was found in binutils, specifically within the `readelf` utility. This vulnerability allows a local attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by tricking a user into processing a specially crafted Executable and Linkable Format (ELF) file. The exploitation of this flaw can lead to the system becoming unresponsive due to excessive resource consumption or a program crash. | Mon 26 Oct |
| CVE-2025-54771 | 4.9 medium | 0.00% | no CPE yet | A use-after-free vulnerability has been identified in the GNU GRUB (Grand Unified Bootloader). The flaw occurs because the file-closing process incorrectly retains a memory pointer, leaving an invalid reference to a file system structure. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause grub to crash, leading to a Denial of Service. Possible data integrity or confidentiality compromise is not discarded. | 18 Oct |
