CVE-2025-38181 5.5 medium 1.0% linux, debian, linux_kernel, debian_linux In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: calipso: Fix null-ptr-deref in calipso_req_{set,del}attr(). syzkaller reported a null-ptr-deref in sock_omalloc() while allocating a CALIPSO option. [0] The NULL is of struct sock, which was fetched by sk_to_full_sk() in calipso_req_setattr(). Since commit a1a5344ddbe8 ("tcp: avoid two atomic ops for syncookies"), reqsk->rsk_listener could be NULL when SYN Cookie is returned to its client, as hinted by the leading SYN Cookie log. Here are 3 options to fix the bug: 1) Return 0 in calipso_req_setattr() 2) Return an error in calipso_req_setattr() 3) Alaways set rsk_listener 1) is no go as it bypasses LSM, but 2) effectively disables SYN Cookie for CALIPSO. 3) is also no go as there have been many efforts to reduce atomic ops and make TCP robust against DDoS. See also commit 3b24d854cb35 ("tcp/dccp: do not touch listener sk_refcnt under synflood"). As of the blamed commit, SYN Cookie already did not need refcounting, and no one has stumbled on the bug for 9 years, so no CALIPSO user will care about SYN Cookie. Let's return an error in calipso_req_setattr() and calipso_req_delattr() in the SYN Cookie case. This can be reproduced by [1] on Fedora and now connect() of nc times out. [0]: TCP: request_sock_TCPv6: Possible SYN flooding on port [::]:20002. Sending cookies. CVE-2026-57196 2.3 low 1.0% no CPE yet Asterisk is an open source private branch exchange and telephony toolkit. Prior to Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3, an unauthenticated attacker may use reflected cross-site scripting in `phone provisioning HTTP error pages` to retrieve an authorized user's `AMI session cookie` and impersonate that user when `res_phoneprov` is enabled. The Asterisk HTTP web server, Asterisk Manager Interface (AMI), and AMI access via HTTP must all be enabled; each is disabled by default. The attacker must be able to connect to the HTTP server, which binds only to `127.0.0.1` by default even when enabled, and must convince the authorized user to click a malicious link. This issue is fixed in Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3. Tue 27 Oct
CVE-2025-12419 9.9 critical 0.00% mattermost, mattermost_server Mattermost versions 10.12.x <= 10.12.1, 10.11.x <= 10.11.4, 10.5.x <= 10.5.12, 11.0.x <= 11.0.3 fail to properly validate OAuth state tokens during OpenID Connect authentication which allows an authenticated attacker with team creation privileges to take over a user account via manipulation of authentication data during the OAuth completion flow. This requires email verification to be disabled (default: disabled), OAuth/OpenID Connect to be enabled, and the attacker to control two users in the SSO system with one of them never having logged into Mattermost. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-40884 9.8 critical 0.00% goshs goshs is a SimpleHTTPServer written in Go. Prior to 2.0.0-beta.6, goshs contains an SFTP authentication bypass when the documented empty-username basic-auth syntax is used. If the server is started with -b ':pass' together with -sftp, goshs accepts that configuration but does not install any SFTP password handler. As a result, an unauthenticated network attacker can connect to the SFTP service and access files without a password. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.0.0-beta.6. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-3144 9.8 critical 0.00% ibm, api_connect IBM API Connect 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.0.3 uses default credentials which could allow an attacker to gain unauthorized access to the application before the system enforces a credential update. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2026-89702 9.8 critical 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: size fh_verify server sockaddr slot by xpt_locallen The nfsd_fh_verify and nfsd_fh_verify_err tracepoints declare the server sockaddr slot sized by xpt_remotelen but fill it from xpt_local using xpt_locallen: TP_STRUCT__entry( ... __sockaddr(server, rqstp->rq_xprt->xpt_remotelen) ... ) TP_fast_assign( ... __assign_sockaddr(server, &rqstp->rq_xprt->xpt_local, rqstp->rq_xprt->xpt_locallen); ... ) When xpt_locallen exceeds xpt_remotelen, __assign_sockaddr's memcpy writes past the reserved ring-buffer slot. In the reverse direction (xpt_locallen < xpt_remotelen) the slot is oversized and the unwritten tail leaks prior ring-buffer contents to trace consumers. The write-past-end case is reachable on NFS/UDP. svc_xprt_set_remote() is only called from svc_tcp_accept() (net/sunrpc/svcsock.c) and from the RDMA connect path; svc_create_socket() for UDP calls only svc_xprt_set_local(), so xpt_remotelen stays 0 for the xprt's lifetime. Every fh_verify trace for an NFSv2/v3-over-UDP request then copies 16 or 28 bytes from xpt_local into a zero-byte slot. The other NFSD tracepoints that record the server address (NFSD_TRACE_PROC_CALL_FIELDS, NFSD_TRACE_PROC_RES_FIELDS, SVC_RQST_ENDPOINT_FIELDS) already size the server slot by xpt_locallen; nfsd_fh_verify and nfsd_fh_verify_err were the only exceptions. Fix by sizing the server slot with xpt_locallen so the declared slot matches the copy length. The client slot and its assignment already agree on xpt_remotelen and are left untouched. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-73595 9.8 critical 0.00% dell, policy_manager_for_secure_connect_gateway Dell Secure Connect Gateway (SCG) Policy Manager, versions prior to 5.34.00.16, Versions prior to 5.36, contains a Download of Code Without Integrity Check vulnerability. An unauthenticated attacker with remote access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to Code execution, Information disclosure, Information tampering, and Protection mechanism bypass. 15 Oct
CVE-2026-73278 9.8 critical 0.00% gitea Gitea's OAuth2 and OpenID Connect sign-in paths do not require a WebAuthn challenge when WebAuthn is the account's only configured second factor. A party able to authenticate through the affected external identity flow can obtain a full session without the passkey verification enforced during password login. One affected path can also persist an external identity link, extending the compromise beyond the initial session; accounts with TOTP configured are outside the reported WebAuthn-only scenario. 13 Oct
CVE-2026-76779 9.8 critical 0.00% dell, policy_manager_for_secure_connect_gateway Dell Secure Connect Gateway (SCG) Policy Manager, versions prior to 5.34.00.16, contains an Improper Restriction of Excessive Authentication Attempts vulnerability. An unauthenticated attacker with remote access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to Elevation of privileges, Protection mechanism bypass, and Unauthorized access. 13 Oct
CVE-2026-48360 9.6 critical 0.00% no CPE yet Adobe Connect is affected by an Improper Control of Generation of Code ('Code Injection') vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must visit a maliciously crafted URL or interact with a compromised web page. Scope is changed. Wed 28 Oct
CVE-2026-102693 9.6 critical 0.00% no CPE yet RIOT is an open-source microcontroller operating system designed for Internet of Things devices and other embedded systems. Prior to 2026.04, the ATWINC15x0 driver's _atwinc15x0_sta_set_current_ssid function uses strcpy to copy an SSID without checking the destination size. When MODULE_ATWINC15X0_DYNAMIC_CONNECT is enabled, a nearby attacker can advertise a malformed or oversized SSID that is processed during Wi-Fi scanning, causing memory corruption and potentially a hard fault, denial of service, or code execution. This issue is fixed in version 2026.04. 16 Oct
CVE-2026-107282 9.4 critical 0.00% no CPE yet The AsyncHttpClient (AHC) library allows Java applications to easily execute HTTP requests and asynchronously process HTTP responses. Prior to 3.0.13 and 2.16.1, cross-host request replay updates the current request but leaves the target request and related proxy context pointing at the original origin. Connection-pool selection, CONNECT handling, realm selection, and TLS setup can consequently send the original host's path, Host header, Authorization credentials, or plaintext request to the replay destination. Documented ResponseFilter failover and retry paths can trigger the replay. This issue is fixed in versions 3.0.13 and 2.16.1. 10 Oct
CVE-2026-111732 9.3 critical — rt-labs, p-net P-Net before 1.0.3, when built with PNET_OPTION_AR_VENDOR_BLOCKS enabled, parses a data length from a field of the ARVendorBlock request that is not part of the block definition and uses it as the number of bytes to copy into a fixed-size buffer, without comparing it with the buffer size or the block length. A crafted Connect request causes an out-of-bounds write. This can lead to a crash (denial of service) or potentially arbitrary code execution. This option is disabled by default. 20 h ago
CVE-2026-117603 9.3 critical 0.00% no CPE yet Electrum before 4.7.2 contains a spending limit bypass vulnerability in the Nostr Wallet Connect plugin that allows malicious NWC clients to exceed daily_limit_sat by exploiting non-atomic budget checks and millisatoshi truncation. Attackers can send concurrent pay_invoice requests that pass budget_allows_spend() before add_to_budget() runs, or repeatedly pay msat amounts that are floored to whole satoshis, to drain funds beyond the limit. CVE-2026-17349 9.3 critical 0.00% pgadmin, pgadmin_4 /misc/workspace/adhoc_connect_server, part of the Workspaces feature introduced in pgAdmin 4 9.0, when passed the id of an existing server, clones that server via Server.clone(), which copies every column from the source row, including user_id, shared, shared_username, and the stored credential fields password, save_password, and tunnel_password. When a non-owner triggered an adhoc connect against another user's (in practice, typically an administrator's) shared server, the clone inherited that user's ownership, shared flag, and stored database credentials verbatim. pgAdmin persisted this cross-tenant, credential-bearing server row before the connection was even attempted, so it survived even when the connection subsequently failed. The non-owner could then open the newly-owned clone and pgAdmin would connect using the source user's stored database password on the non-owner's behalf, granting the non-owner use of database credentials -- and whatever database privileges they confer -- that were never their own. Fix forces the cloned adhoc record's ownership fields (user_id, shared, shared_username) and stored credential fields (password, save_password, tunnel_password) to belong to the calling user and be cleared/private before committing, regardless of the source server's ownership, sharing state, or stored credentials. A regression test asserts that an adhoc connect triggered by a non-owner against another user's shared server persists a row owned by the caller, not shared, and without the source's stored credentials. This issue affects pgAdmin 4: from 9.0 before 9.17. Fri 23 Oct
CVE-2023-7325 9.3 critical 0.00% no CPE yet Anheng Mingyu Operation and Maintenance Audit and Risk Control System up to 2023-08-10 contains a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in the xmlrpc.sock handler. The product accepts specially crafted XML-RPC requests that can be used to instruct the server to connect to internal unix socket RPC endpoints and perform privileged XML-RPC methods. An attacker able to send such requests can invoke administrative RPC methods via the unix socket interface to create arbitrary user accounts on the system, resulting in account creation and potential takeover of the bastion host. VulnCheck has observed this vulnerability being exploited in the wild as of 2025-10-30 at 00:30:17.837319 UTC. 18 Oct
CVE-2025-59743 9.3 critical 0.00% andsoft, e-tms SQL injection vulnerability in AndSoft's e-TMS v25.03. This vulnerability could allow an attacker to retrieve, create, update, and delete databases by sending a POST request. The relationship between parameter and assigned identifier is a 'SessionID' cookie in '/inc/connect/CONNECTION.ASP'. 12 Oct
CVE-2026-73665 9.3 critical 0.00% sangoma, freepbx FreePBX is an open source IP PBX. Prior to 17.0.9, the UCP Node server on ports 8001 and 8003 uses io.use(checkAuth) in node/lib/server.js, but Socket.IO version 4 applies that middleware only to the default namespace. An unauthenticated client can connect to custom namespaces that do not consistently invoke checkAuth in node/lib/auth.js and send crafted event values containing carriage-return or newline characters through the Asterisk Manager Interface action path patched by node/lib/asterisk-manager-patch.js, allowing arbitrary commands to execute as the asterisk service user. This issue is fixed in version 17.0.9. 9 Oct
CVE-2026-107726 9.3 critical 0.00% no CPE yet Hazelcast is a unified real-time data platform combining stream processing with a fast data store. Prior to 5.4.5, 5.5.10, and 5.6.1, improper validation of data supplied by a malicious client able to connect to a cluster allows arbitrary reads from a cluster member's Java heap, off-heap data, and JVM process address space. The same flaw can crash cluster members and, in some Hazelcast Enterprise Edition configurations, corrupt memory with possible arbitrary code execution. Both slim and full distributions are affected. This issue is fixed in versions 5.4.5, 5.5.10, 5.6.1, and 5.7.0. 9 Oct
CVE-2025-61778 9.3 critical 0.00% no CPE yet Akka.NET is a .NET port of the Akka project from the Scala / Java community. In all versions of Akka.Remote from v1.2.0 to v1.5.51, TLS could be enabled via our `akka.remote.dot-netty.tcp` transport and this would correctly enforce private key validation on the server-side of inbound connections. Akka.Remote, however, never asked the outbound-connecting client to present ITS certificate - therefore it's possible for untrusted parties to connect to a private key'd Akka.NET cluster and begin communicating with it without any certificate. The issue here is that for certificate-based authentication to work properly, ensuring that all members of the Akka.Remote network are secured with the same private key, Akka.Remote needed to implement mutual TLS. This was not the case before Akka.NET v1.5.52. Those who run Akka.NET inside a private network that they fully control or who were never using TLS in the first place are now affected by the bug. However, those who use TLS to secure their networks must upgrade to Akka.NET V1.5.52 or later. One patch forces "fail fast" semantics if TLS is enabled but the private key is missing or invalid. Previous versions would only check that once connection attempts occurred. The second patch, a critical fix, enforces mutual TLS (mTLS) by default, so both parties must be keyed using the same certificate. As a workaround, avoid exposing the application publicly to avoid the vulnerability having a practical impact on one's application. However, upgrading to version 1.5.52 is still recommended by the maintainers. 9 Oct
CVE-2025-9313 9.3 critical 0.00% no CPE yet An unauthenticated user can connect to a publicly accessible database using arbitrary credentials. The system grants full access to the database by leveraging a previously authenticated connection through a "mmBackup" application. This flaw allows attackers to bypass authentication mechanisms and gain unauthorized access to database with sensitive data. This issue affects Asseco mMedica in versions before 11.9.5. 8 Oct
CVE-2026-41930 9.2 critical 0.00% no CPE yet Vvveb before version 1.0.8.2 contains a hard-coded credentials vulnerability in its docker-compose-apache.yaml configuration that allows unauthenticated attackers to access the bundled phpMyAdmin container with pre-configured database credentials. Attackers can connect to the phpMyAdmin port to gain unrestricted read and write access to the entire Vvveb database, including administrator password hashes, customer personally identifiable information, and order data, enabling account takeover and data manipulation. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-108549 9.2 critical 0.00% no CPE yet cc-connect through 1.5.0 contains a missing authentication vulnerability in the MAX platform adapter webhook mode in platform/max/max.go that accepts unauthenticated updates when no webhook_secret is configured. Remote attackers reaching the webhook listener on port 8080 can forge updates with an allowed or admin user_id to run privileged commands like /shell on the host. 13 Oct
CVE-2025-49594 9.2 critical 0.00% no CPE yet XWiki OIDC has various tools to manipulate OpenID Connect protocol in XWiki. Starting in version 2.17.1 and prior to version 2.18.2, anyone with VIEW access to a user profile can create a token for that user. If that XWiki instance is configured to allow token authentication, it allows authentication with any user (since users are very commonly viewable, at least to other registered users). Version 2.18.2 contains a patch. As a workaround, disable token access. 9 Oct
CVE-2026-40289 9.1 critical 0.00% praison, praisonai, praisonaiagents PraisonAI is a multi-agent teams system. In versions below 4.5.139 of PraisonAI and 1.5.140 of praisonaiagents, the browser bridge (praisonai browser start) is vulnerable to unauthenticated remote session hijacking due to missing authentication and a bypassable origin check on its /ws WebSocket endpoint. The server binds to 0.0.0.0 by default and only validates the Origin header when one is present, meaning any non-browser client that omits the header is accepted without restriction. An unauthenticated network attacker can connect, send a start_session message, and the server will route it to the first idle browser-extension WebSocket (effectively hijacking that session) and then broadcast all resulting automation actions and outputs back to the attacker. This enables unauthorized remote control of connected browser automation sessions, leakage of sensitive page context and automation results, and misuse of model-backed browser actions in any environment where the bridge is network-reachable. This issue has been fixed in versions 4.5.139 of PraisonAI and 1.5.140 of praisonaiagents. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-42889 9.1 critical 0.00% no CPE yet Relay adds real-time collaboration to Obsidian. Relay Server versions 0.9.0 through 0.9.6 contain an authentication bypass in the multi-document WebSocket endpoints. When authentication is configured, WebSocket connections without a token query parameter were incorrectly treated as having full server permissions. An unauthenticated network attacker who knows or guesses a document ID could connect to the document sync WebSocket and read or modify document contents without a valid document token. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.9.7. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-63687 9.1 critical 0.00% apache, cxf Apache CXF's JwtRequestCodeFilter copies all claims from a signed request JWT into the authorization parameter map without excluding security-sensitive parameters. A client that can produce a validly-signed request JWT (e.g., one whose client_secret is known or compromised) can thereby substitute the code_challenge, code_challenge_method, nonce, and state values that were set in the outer HTTP request, undermining PKCE integrity and OpenID Connect replay protection. Users are recommended to upgrade to versions 4.2.3 or 4.1.8 or 3.6.12, which fix this issue. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2026-55953 9.1 critical 0.00% erlang, erlang\/otp, erlang\/ssl The Erlang/OTP ssl TLS 1.2 (and earlier) and DTLS client does not verify that the cipher suite selected by the server in ServerHello was among the suites offered by the client in ClientHello. The client-side tls_handshake:hello/5 handler validates the negotiated protocol version and the downgrade sentinel but hands the server-chosen suite directly to ssl_handshake:handle_server_hello_extensions/9, which installs it without a membership check. The TLS 1.3 client path performs this check (per RFC 8446), so it is not affected. An on-path attacker between the client and the intended server can respond with a ServerHello selecting an anonymous key exchange suite such as TLS_DH_anon_* or TLS_ECDH_anon_* that the client never offered. Anonymous suites do not require the server to present a certificate, so the entire verify_peer and cacerts configuration is bypassed: the attacker completes the handshake with its own ephemeral parameters, no certificate is validated, no hostname is checked, and ssl:connect returns {ok, Socket}. All subsequent application traffic is readable and modifiable by the attacker. This issue affects OTP from OTP 17.0 before OTP 27.3.4.15, from OTP 28.0 before OTP 28.5.0.4, and from OTP 29.0 before OTP 29.0.4, corresponding to ssl from 5.3.4 before 11.2.12.11, from 11.3 before 11.6.0.4, and from 11.7 before 11.7.4. Whether OTP before OTP 17.0, corresponding to ssl before 5.3.4, is affected is unknown. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2026-89631 9.1 critical 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: reject a tree connect response whose byte count is too small CIFSTCon() bounds its strnlen() over the byte area with the server's ByteCount minus two, which for ByteCount 0 or 1 goes negative as an int and converts to a huge size_t. The later subtraction wraps the __u16 bytes_left, and that is what bounds cifs_strndup_from_utf16(): a bound of up to 65535 against a ~16 KB cifs_req_poolp object runs off the end of the slab object, and the bytes reach userspace through tcon->nativeFileSystem in /proc/fs/cifs/DebugData. Reject a byte area too small for what the parser consumes. Two bytes is the least it can consume, and no conformant response carries fewer. The new trace point is the 129th smb_eio_trace entry, which __mode(byte) cannot represent, so the attribute goes with it. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-109383 9.1 critical 0.00% nodejs, undici undici is an HTTP client library for Node.js. In versions 4.0.0 through 6.29.0, 7.0.0 through 7.30.0, and 8.0.0 through 8.12.1, its Agent dispatcher passes its constructor options through a JSON-based deep clone before forwarding them to each per-origin pool, and because JSON cannot represent functions, a caller-supplied tls option containing a checkServerIdentity callback is silently dropped before it reaches the TLS layer. As a result, a TLS peer whose certificate a custom checkServerIdentity was written to reject, but which passes Node's default hostname and chain checks, is silently accepted. Because Agent is the default dispatcher behind request, fetch, and setGlobalDispatcher, this affects the path most applications use, and EnvHttpProxyAgent is affected on its direct and no-proxy routes as well, while only applications that pass a function-valued tls option such as a custom checkServerIdentity for certificate or public-key pinning are at risk. The issue is fixed in undici 6.29.1, 7.30.1, and 8.12.2, which preserve the tls option outside the JSON clone so custom verification callbacks are forwarded unchanged, and users should upgrade to one of those versions or later. As a workaround, pass the TLS options through connect instead of tls, or for proxied destinations use requestTls and proxyTls. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-67231 9.1 critical 0.00% broadcom, rabbitmq_server RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. Prior to versions 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, 4.2.6, and 4.3.0, The trust-store plugin installs a verify_fun that overrides {bad_cert, unknown_ca} / {bad_cert, selfsigned_peer} when the presented cert "matches" a whitelisted one. The match key is extract_issuer_id/1 → public_key:pkix_issuer_id/2 → {IssuerName, SerialNumber} , both fields are taken verbatim from the presented certificate body and contain no public-key, SKI, fingerprint or signature material. is_whitelisted/1 is a pure ets:member lookup; the stored full DER is used only for list/0 display and is never compared against the presented cert. cacerts is [], so the whitelisted cert is never used as a trust anchor for path validation either. TLS client-authentication bypass: an attacker who knows the issuer DN + serial of any whitelisted certificate can connect with a forged self-signed cert. Preconditions include rabbitmq_trust_store plugin enabled and used as the TLS verify_fun Attacker knows or can guess the {Issuer, Serial} of at least one whitelisted cert (non-secret; exposed via CLI/logs/any cert copy). This issue is fixed in versions 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, 4.2.6, and 4.3.0. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-116399 8.8 high — instawp, instawp connect Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) vulnerability in InstaWP InstaWP Connect instawp-connect allows Cross Site Request Forgery. This issue affects InstaWP Connect: from n/a through 0.1.4.2. 19 h ago
CVE-2026-116176 8.8 high 0.00% vllm vLLM from 0.9.2 before 0.24.0 contains a server-side request forgery vulnerability that allows API callers to force outbound connections by embedding a decode address in the X-Request-Id header. Attackers can make a P2pNcclConnector prefill worker ZMQ-connect to an attacker host, leaking the NCCL unique_id and KV-cache tensors or blocking the worker. Wed 28 Oct
CVE-2026-116672 8.8 high 0.00% no CPE yet Authlib is a Python library which builds OAuth and OpenID Connect servers. From 0.15 until 1.9.1, the documented ClientConfigurationEndpoint.authenticate_client and ClientConfigurationEndpoint.check_permission reference implementations look up a target client from request-controlled client_id data and check only whether that target is editable, without verifying that request.credential belongs to the target client. Deployments following both examples can allow a client holding any valid registration access token to read, modify, or delete another client's registration. Changing redirect_uris can enable authorization code or token interception, while deleting registrations can deny service to affected clients. This issue is fixed in version 1.9.1. Tue 27 Oct
CVE-2026-33318 8.8 high 0.00% actualbudget, actual Actual is a local-first personal finance tool. Prior to version 26.4.0, any authenticated user (including `BASIC` role) can escalate to `ADMIN` on servers migrated from password authentication to OpenID Connect. Three weaknesses combine: `POST /account/change-password` has no authorization check, allowing any session to overwrite the password hash; the inactive password `auth` row is never removed on migration; and the login endpoint accepts a client-supplied `loginMethod` that bypasses the server's active auth configuration. Together these allow an attacker to set a known password and authenticate as the anonymous admin account created during the multiuser migration. The three weaknesses form a single, sequential exploit chain — none produces privilege escalation on its own. Missing authorization on POST /change-password allows overwriting a password hash, but only matters if there is an orphaned row to target. Orphaned password row persisting after migration provides the target row, but is harmless without the ability to authenticate using it. Client-controlled loginMethod: "password" allows forcing password-based auth, but is useless without a known hash established by step 1. All three must be chained in sequence to achieve the impact. No single weakness independently results in privilege escalation. The single root cause is the missing authorization check on /change-password; the other two are preconditions that make it exploitable. Version 26.4.0 contains a fix. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-53661 8.8 high 0.00% no CPE yet Boruta is a standalone authorization server that aims to implement OAuth 2.0 and Openid Connect up to decentralized identity specifications. Prior to version 0.9.1, boruta session cookies and the identity “remember me” cookie were set without the Secure attribute. In deployments where users could reach the same Boruta origin over plaintext HTTP, browsers could send these cookies over an unencrypted connection. An attacker able to observe or intercept that network traffic could recover a valid session or remember-me cookie and reuse it to impersonate the affected user. Affected components include boruta_web, boruta_identity, and boruta_admin. The affected cookies include the shared session cookie, defaulting to _boruta_web_key, and the identity remember-me cookie, defaulting to `_boruta_identity_web_user_remember_me`. The issue is fixed in commit 18691c655164635066aa113003a3cd87f6ed11cd, released as part of version 0.9.1. The patch sets `secure: true` and `same_site: "Lax"` on configured session cookies for boruta_web, boruta_identity, and boruta_admin, and sets `secure: true` on the identity remember-me cookie. Until upgrading to a release containing the fix: terminate or reject plaintext HTTP before requests reach Boruta; enforce HTTPS-only access at the reverse proxy or load balancer; enable HSTS for Boruta domains; if cookie exposure is suspected, rotate SECRET_KEY_BASE and BORUTA_SESSION_COOKIE_SIGNING_SALT, then require users to authenticate again. Upgrade to a version containing commit 18691c655164635066aa113003a3cd87f6ed11cd, or apply the patch manually. After deploying the fix, verify that Boruta session and remember-me cookies include the Secure attribute in browser developer tools or with an HTTP response inspection tool. Mon 26 Oct
