CVE-2026-98109 4.7 medium 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_core: Fix race condition during device registration In hci_register_dev(), the power_on work item is queued to hdev->req_workqueue before initializing hdev->adv_monitors_idr and registering the MSFT extension via msft_register(). For devices marked with quirks such as HCI_QUIRK_RAW_DEVICE, the HCI_UNCONFIGURED flag is set on the device. When the power_on work item runs concurrently on another CPU, hci_power_on() detects that the device is unconfigured and immediately invokes hci_dev_do_close(), which calls msft_do_close(). Concurrently, msft_register() allocates the msft structure and exposes it to hdev->msft_data prior to calling mutex_init(&msft->filter_lock). If msft_do_close() executes while hdev->msft_data is already assigned but the mutex has not yet been initialized, mutex_lock(&msft->filter_lock) operates on an uninitialized mutex, triggering a DEBUG_LOCKS warning: DEBUG_LOCKS_WARN_ON(lock->magic != lock) WARNING: kernel/locking/mutex.c:625 at __mutex_lock_common kernel/locking/mutex.c:625 [inline] WARNING: kernel/locking/mutex.c:625 at __mutex_lock+0x12d8/0x1550 kernel/locking/mutex.c:821 ... Call Trace: <TASK> msft_do_close+0x308/0x7b0 net/bluetooth/msft.c:693 hci_dev_close_sync+0x86b/0x10a0 net/bluetooth/hci_sync.c:5522 hci_dev_do_close net/bluetooth/hci_core.c:499 [inline] hci_power_on+0x32c/0x750 net/bluetooth/hci_core.c:937 process_one_work kernel/workqueue.c:3322 [inline] process_scheduled_works+0xa8e/0x14e0 kernel/workqueue.c:3405 worker_thread+0x92d/0xe10 kernel/workqueue.c:3486 kthread+0x388/0x470 kernel/kthread.c:436 ret_from_fork+0x514/0xb70 arch/x86/kernel/process.c:158 ret_from_fork_asm+0x1a/0x30 arch/x86/entry/entry_64.S:245 </TASK> Fix this by moving the queue_work() call in hci_register_dev() to after idr_init(&hdev->adv_monitors_idr) and msft_register(hdev) so that device structures and extensions are fully initialized before asynchronous tasks can access them. Additionally, assign hdev->msft_data in msft_register() only after mutex_init(&msft->filter_lock) has completed. 19 Oct
CVE-2023-53520 4.7 medium 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: Fix hci_suspend_sync crash If hci_unregister_dev() frees the hci_dev object but hci_suspend_notifier may still be accessing it, it can cause the program to crash. CVE-2019-19054 4.7 medium 0.00% linux, canonical, linux_kernel, ubuntu_linux, fedora A memory leak in the cx23888_ir_probe() function in drivers/media/pci/cx23885/cx23888-ir.c in the Linux kernel through 5.3.11 allows attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) by triggering kfifo_alloc() failures, aka CID-a7b2df76b42b. 8 Oct
CVE-2026-10642 4.6 medium 0.00% zephyrproject, zephyr The Zephyr PL011 UART driver (drivers/serial/uart_pl011.c) contains an unbounded software loop in pl011_irq_tx_enable() that repeatedly invokes the interrupt-driven application callback while the TX interrupt mask bit (PL011_IMSC_TXIM) is set, to work around the controller's level-transition TX-interrupt behavior. When CTS hardware flow control is enabled (devicetree hw-flow-control or runtime UART_CFG_FLOW_CTRL_RTS_CTS) and the wired serial peer de-asserts CTS, the controller stops draining the TX FIFO; pl011_fifo_fill() then returns 0 on every call while the application still has pending data and therefore never disables the TX interrupt. The loop condition never clears, so the thread that called uart_irq_tx_enable() (e.g. h4_send() in the Bluetooth HCI H4 driver) spins indefinitely, hanging the executing context and stalling the transport — a denial of service (CWE-835). An attacker controlling the device attached to the UART's CTS line can trigger the hang by withholding CTS during transmission. Because that peer is the device wired to the UART — which may be a removable or external module (e.g. an off-board Bluetooth controller on the HCI H4 link) rather than a permanently-bonded on-PCB part — the attack vector is scored Adjacent (AV:A) rather than Physical; the security subcommittee should confirm the vector against the specific deployment. Impact is availability only; there is no memory-safety, confidentiality, or integrity consequence. The vulnerable loop was introduced in commit b783bc8448ef (Feb 2025) and shipped in releases v4.1.0 through v4.4.0. The fix breaks out of the loop when CTS is blocking and arms the CTS modem-status interrupt to resume transmission when CTS re-asserts. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2020-12358 4.4 medium 0.00% intel, siemens, bios, simatic_ipc547g_firmware, cloud_backup Out of bounds write in the firmware for some Intel(R) Processors may allow a privileged user to potentially enable denial of service via local access. 8 Oct
CVE-2026-81039 4.3 medium 0.00% no CPE yet The Bluetooth host pre-allocates a bt_conn object (a "reservation") from the fixed acl_conns[] pool for every connectable advertising set it starts, in le_adv_start_add_conn() in subsys/bluetooth/host/adv.c. When an incoming peripheral connection completes, find_pending_connect() in subsys/bluetooth/host/hci_core.c looked that reservation up using only the identity and the peer address, with a directed-then-undirected fallback, and had no knowledge of which advertising set actually terminated. With CONFIG_BT_EXT_ADV_MAX_ADV_SET > 1, where the LE Enhanced Connection Complete event is cached until the LE Advertising Set Terminated event identifies the set, this lookup can return the reservation belonging to a different, still-running advertising set. The defect is reachable over the air by any adjacent device. If an application runs two connectable extended advertising sets on the same identity — one undirected and one directed at a peer P (the common "directed reconnect to a bonded central while still accepting new centrals" pattern) — a remote initiator whose address maps to P connecting on the undirected set causes the directed set's reservation to be consumed instead. The initiator address is chosen freely by the remote device and is not authenticated at link establishment, so no bonding, pairing or prior relationship is required to trigger the mis-attribution. The undirected set's own reservation is then stranded: its BT_ADV_ENABLED flag has already been cleared, and le_adv_stop_free_conn() — the only path that returns a reservation to the pool — is reached only for sets that are still enabled, so bt_le_ext_adv_stop() returns early and the object is never released. Each occurrence permanently consumes one CONFIG_BT_MAX_CONN slot until bt_disable() or reboot. In application patterns that restart the directed advertising set after each disconnect, an attacker can repeat the sequence until the pool is exhausted, after which connectable advertising fails with -ENOMEM and the device can no longer accept connections. As a side effect the directed set keeps advertising without a reservation, so a genuine connection on it is dropped by bt_hci_disconnect(). The impact is availability only; no memory corruption or information disclosure results, and configurations with a single advertising set are unaffected. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-78117 4.2 medium 0.00% no CPE yet The Infineon PSOC 6 BLESS HCI driver in drivers/bluetooth/hci/hci_infineon_psoc6_bless.c stored the outgoing HCI packet descriptor in a file-scope variable, static cy_stc_ble_hci_tx_packet_info_t hci_tx_pkt. psoc6_bless_send() cleared and populated that descriptor's packetType, dataLength and data fields before acquiring psoc6_bless_operation_sem, so the driver's serialising semaphore protected only the call into Cy_BLE_SoftHciSendAppPkt() and not the shared state that call reads. The Bluetooth host does not guarantee a single HCI sender. Most transmissions are funnelled through the cooperative TX-processor work queue, but bt_hci_cmd_send() deliberately bypasses bt_dev.cmd_tx_queue for BT_HCI_OP_HOST_NUM_COMPLETED_PACKETS and calls bt_send() directly from the caller's thread; that caller is bt_hci_host_num_completed_packets(), the acl_in_pool destroy callback, which runs on whichever thread drops the last reference to a received ACL buffer. CONFIG_BT_HCI_ACL_FLOW_CONTROL defaults to y on this driver's boards, and an application that returns -EINPROGRESS from its L2CAP recv callback and later calls bt_l2cap_chan_recv_complete() performs that unref from its own preemptible thread. A remote peer that generates Bluetooth traffic concurrently with the device's own transmissions raises the collision rate. When two senders interleave, the semaphore holder can hand the controller a descriptor whose dataLength comes from one net_buf and whose data pointer comes from another — or one whose buffer has already been returned to its pool. The controller then copies and transmits up to a full HCI/ACL payload starting at a shorter or recycled buffer, disclosing adjacent RAM contents to the connected peer; other interleavings duplicate one HCI packet and silently drop another, disrupting the link. The driver only reads through the shared descriptor, so no memory corruption or write primitive results, and the disclosed bytes are not attacker-chosen. The fix makes the descriptor a local variable in psoc6_bless_send(), removing the shared state; Cy_BLE_SoftHciSendAppPkt() copies the packet before returning, so it need not outlive the call. 23 Oct
CVE-2020-29374 3.6 low 0.00% linux, debian, linux_kernel, debian_linux, 500f_firmware An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel before 5.7.3, related to mm/gup.c and mm/huge_memory.c. The get_user_pages (aka gup) implementation, when used for a copy-on-write page, does not properly consider the semantics of read operations and therefore can grant unintended write access, aka CID-17839856fd58. 8 Oct
CVE-2020-24512 3.3 low 0.00% intel, debian, microcode, debian_linux, fas\/aff_bios Observable timing discrepancy in some Intel(R) Processors may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable information disclosure via local access. 8 Oct
CVE-2026-99091 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: MGMT: Fix status of pending commands flushed on power off cmd_complete_rsp() receives a struct cmd_lookup and, for a pending command that has no cmd_complete callback, falls through to cmd_status_rsp(cmd, data). cmd_status_rsp() reads data as a u8 *, so the status sent comes from the first byte of match->sk's representation, not from match->mgmt_status. commit f53e1c9c726d ("Bluetooth: MGMT: Fix possible crash on mgmt_index_removed") changed the callers' data from &status to &match and updated the cmd_complete branch to match->mgmt_status, but left the fall-through passing data unchanged. In mgmt_index_removed() match->sk is NULL, so every such command is answered with status 0x00 (Success) instead of MGMT_STATUS_INVALID_INDEX. In __mgmt_power_off() it is NULL too, unless a Set Powered command was pending: then settings_rsp() has stored that command's socket in match->sk, and the byte sent comes from the socket pointer. Either way the status the caller set, MGMT_STATUS_NOT_POWERED (or MGMT_STATUS_INVALID_INDEX when the device is being unregistered), is lost. Pass the status the callers set. This was seen on a QCA9377 laptop: bluetoothd's Start Discovery, pending when the adapter was powered off, was answered with Command Status 0x00 and no parameters, and bluetoothd 5.72 crashed on the zero-length success. BlueZ master has since added the length check on that path ("adapter: Fix crash on short start discovery reply", BlueZ a734b06059cb), but userspace should still be told Not Powered, not Success. Tested on Ubuntu 7.0.0-31 with a virtual controller (hci_vhci): power off is held in HCI Write Scan Enable while a Start Discovery is submitted, and the flush answers it with status 0x00 before this change and 0x0f (Not Powered) after. CVE-2026-99015 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_sock: Serialize dead-device detachment Rebinding an HCI socket after its controller is unregistered can race monitor control replay and crash the kernel. hci_sock_bind() clears hci_pi(sk)->hdev and drops the device reference under only the socket lock, whereas send_monitor_control_replay() holds hci_sk_list.lock for reading. Replay can observe a non-NULL hdev, then bind can clear it and drop the last reference before create_monitor_ctrl_open() reads hdev->id. This can cause a NULL pointer dereference if the pointer is reloaded, or a use-after-free if the old pointer is retained. The kernel reported: KASAN: null-ptr-deref in range [0x0000000000000068-0x000000000000006f] RIP: 0010:create_monitor_ctrl_open+0x579/0x800 Call Trace: hci_sock_bind+0xd96/0x1190 __sys_bind+0x166/0x200 __x64_sys_bind+0x6d/0xb0 do_syscall_64+0xdd/0x4a0 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x77/0x7f The same missing serialization lets hci_send_to_sock() select a socket for the old device and queue its frame after bind has detached the socket or installed a new binding. Take hci_sk_list.lock for writing when clearing the device pointer and resetting the socket state. This waits for existing replay and delivery readers to finish before detachment and prevents later readers from using the old binding. Keep hci_dev_put() outside the critical section because the final device release can sleep. Fri 30 Oct
CVE-2026-99009 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: RFCOMM: connect the session socket without rfcomm_mutex An RFCOMM connect() issued while a BR/EDR link is being authenticated makes lockdep report a circular dependency, and the reported cycle is a real AB/BA between rfcomm_mutex and hdev->lock. rfcomm_security_cfm() is called from the HCI event path, which already holds hdev->lock: hci_rx_work() hci_event_packet() hci_cc_read_enc_key_size() [hdev->lock] hci_encrypt_cfm() [hci_cb_list_lock] rfcomm_security_cfm() [rfcomm_mutex] while an RFCOMM connect() from userspace takes the same two locks the other way round: rfcomm_sock_connect() rfcomm_dlc_open() [rfcomm_mutex] __rfcomm_dlc_open() rfcomm_session_create() kernel_connect() l2cap_sock_connect() l2cap_chan_connect() [hdev->lock] WARNING: possible circular locking dependency detected kworker/u131:1/1128 is trying to acquire lock: rfcomm_mutex, at: rfcomm_security_cfm+0x31/0x3e0 [rfcomm] but task is already holding lock: hci_cb_list_lock, at: hci_cc_read_enc_key_size+0x1d2/0xcc0 Chain exists of: rfcomm_mutex --> &hdev->lock --> hci_cb_list_lock hci_auth_complete_evt() and hci_encrypt_change_evt() reach the callback the same way. Both orders have to be seen in the same boot, which is why a BR/EDR connection alone is not enough to show it: a session set up by the remote side is created by rfcomm_accept_connection() in krfcommd, which calls kernel_accept() and never takes hdev->lock under rfcomm_mutex. Connecting a device that authenticates and encrypts the link and then calling connect() on an RFCOMM socket towards any address - the connect does not have to succeed, the order is recorded before the page timeout - reports it every time. Only the session socket has to be connected with the lock held, and it does not: nothing else can see the socket before it is put on the session list. So connect it first and take rfcomm_mutex afterwards, which removes the rfcomm_mutex -> hdev->lock order for good, rather than keeping the HCI event path out of rfcomm_mutex. rfcomm_session_create() becomes rfcomm_session_connect(), which returns the connected socket without touching the session list, and rfcomm_dlc_open() adds the session once it holds the lock again. If another opener added a session for the same pair while this socket was connecting, that session is used and this socket is dropped. __rfcomm_dlc_open() now takes the session it should use, and its state check runs after the lock is re-acquired, so a DLC that was opened or closed in the meantime is still handled. Over an existing ACL link the connection can complete before the session reaches the list, and the wakeup from the socket callback is then lost, so krfcommd is woken once the session is visible. Connecting without the lock opens a window in which the socket can be closed. The DLC is not on a session yet, so rfcomm_dlc_close() finds nothing to do and returns without touching it, and rfcomm_dlc_open() would then attach a DLC whose owner is gone. rfcomm_dlc_close() now marks such a DLC with RFCOMM_CLOSED, and rfcomm_dlc_open() checks the mark once it holds rfcomm_mutex again and drops the socket instead of attaching the DLC. The mark is cleared when an open starts, so a DLC that is reused is not affected. This covers both callers of rfcomm_dlc_open(), the socket and the tty layer. Fri 30 Oct
CVE-2026-98809 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_sync: don't drain cmd_sync backlog on unregister hci_unregister_dev() disables cmd_work and cmd_timer, then calls hci_cmd_sync_clear(), whose cancel_work_sync() waits for hci_cmd_sync_work() to return. That worker dequeues and runs every entry on cmd_sync_work_list. With cmd_work disabled nothing reaches the controller, so each queued HCI command waits the full HCI_CMD_TIMEOUT (2s). The backlog has no bound. Userspace can keep queuing MGMT commands such as MGMT_OP_GET_CLOCK_INFO against a controller that doesn't answer. Closing /dev/vhci then blocks in vhci_release() for backlog * 2s: INFO: task syz-executor:5749 blocked for more than 143 seconds. cancel_work_sync hci_cmd_sync_clear hci_unregister_dev vhci_release In a local reproduction the backlog held more than 5000 entries, which comes to hours of hang. Stop the worker from taking new entries once HCI_UNREGISTER is set, and wake any request still waiting with -ENODEV before cancelling the work. The entries left over are destroyed with -ECANCELED by the existing sweep in hci_cmd_sync_clear(). They stay on the list until the work has stopped, so hci_cmd_sync_dequeue() and friends still see them. A callback already running may still issue another command, which delays unregister by at most one timeout per remaining command, not by the whole backlog. Fri 30 Oct
CVE-2026-98736 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_conn: Lock parent access during enhanced SCO setup Bluetooth: hci_conn: Lock parent access during enhanced SCO setup hci_enhanced_setup_sync() runs on the request workqueue without the hci_dev_lock held by its caller when setup was queued. Its CVSD capability check and find_next_esco_param() dereference conn->parent while the receive workqueue can unlink and release that parent. The following interleaving can cause a use-after-free: hci_enhanced_setup_sync() hci_disconn_complete_evt() load conn->parent hci_dev_lock() hci_conn_del(ACL parent) unlink SCO child drop link's parent reference clear child->parent release ACL parent bt_link_release() kfree(parent) hci_dev_unlock() read parent->features[0][3] The reference held for the queued SCO child does not keep its ACL parent alive after unlinking. Commit 42de40abe25d ("Bluetooth: hci_conn: fix the SCO setup context lifetime") protects the child stored in the queued context, but leaves these parent accesses unprotected. With a 40 ms diagnostic delay after loading conn->parent, an instrumented kernel based on fd179f8a05be, which already contains 42de40abe25d, BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in hci_enhanced_setup_sync+0xda5/0xdf0 Read of size 1 at addr ffff888102204047 by task kworker/u17:0/93 Call Trace: hci_enhanced_setup_sync+0xda5/0xdf0 hci_cmd_sync_work+0x13c/0x290 process_one_work+0x6b4/0x10e0 Allocated by task 92: __hci_conn_add+0x304/0x1df0 hci_connect_acl+0x349/0x3e0 hci_connect_sco+0x3b/0x9a0 sco_sock_connect+0x475/0xca0 Freed by task 94: kfree+0x121/0x3c0 bt_link_release+0x79/0xa0 device_release+0xc8/0x240 kobject_put+0x14d/0x280 hci_conn_del+0x524/0xe30 hci_disconn_complete_evt+0x403/0x8c0 hci_event_packet+0x71b/0xb20 hci_rx_work+0x293/0x730 The accessed address is 71 bytes into the freed ACL parent, at its features[0][3] byte; the queued SCO child is a different object. Keep configure_datapath_sync() outside the critical section because it waits for HCI events. Preserve parameter selection and existing return values. Fri 30 Oct
CVE-2026-98735 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_core: Serialize ACL scheduling with channel deletion hci_chan_sent() selects a channel under RCU but drops the read lock before accessing chan->conn and returning the channel. The ACL and LE schedulers then use its packet queue and update its transmit counters without any protection against channel deletion. After TX selects a channel and releases RCU, a disconnect command timeout on the separate request workqueue can run hci_conn_failed() and l2cap_conn_del(). hci_chan_del() can then unlink the channel, complete synchronize_rcu(), purge its queue and free it before TX resumes. This causes use-after-free both in hci_chan_sent() and in its callers. Keep timeout handling outside the critical sections because hci_link_tx_to() acquires the same mutex. This also permits the transmit path to sleep, unlike extending the RCU read-side critical section across packet submission. Fri 30 Oct
CVE-2026-98733 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_core: Serialize fragmented ISO packet queueing The fragmented path in hci_queue_iso() calls __skb_queue_tail() without holding conn->data_q.lock. The socket lock serializes senders, but the transmit worker can concurrently remove packets from this queue using skb_dequeue(). After an insertion saves the old tail pointer, hci_sched_iso() can dequeue that packet and pass it to the driver. The driver can free the packet before the insertion resumes and writes to the old tail's next pointer, causing a use-after-free. Concurrent updates can also corrupt the queue. CVE-2026-97908 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: btqcomsmd: destroy RPMsg endpoints before freeing hci_dev The command and ACL RPMsg endpoints store struct btqcomsmd as their callback private data. If WCNSS delivers data in that window, the endpoint callback can run with an already freed hci_dev and pass it to the Bluetooth core. For qcom_smd endpoints, rpmsg_destroy_ept() closes the channel and clears the callback under the channel recv_lock. The receive path holds the same lock while invoking the callback, so destroying the endpoints first both prevents new callbacks and serializes with any callback already running. Destroy the command and ACL endpoints before hci_free_dev(). Keep hci_unregister_dev() first during remove so the HCI core stops issuing operations before the transport endpoints are shut down. In the full registration-error cleanup path, return directly after freeing the hci_dev to avoid falling through to the partial-construction labels and destroying the endpoints twice. Fri 30 Oct
CVE-2026-93202 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: i3c: master: Fix recursive locking during device registration i3c_master_register_new_i3c_devs() registers newly discovered devices while holding i3c_bus_normaluse_lock(), a down_read(). device_register() can immediately probe the device, and probe callbacks typically invoke I3C helpers that take i3c_bus_normaluse_lock() again, leading to a recursive acquisition of the same rwsem. rwsems do not support recursive read locking and can deadlock when a writer is waiting. See the "Recursive read locks" section of Documentation/locking/lockdep-design.rst. For example, with Intel LPSS I3C, LOCKDEP generates a WARNING like: # echo intel-lpss-i3c.0 > /sys/bus/platform/drivers/mipi-i3c-hci/unbind # echo intel-lpss-i3c.0 > /sys/bus/platform/drivers/mipi-i3c-hci/bind WARNING: possible recursive locking detected kworker/5:1/94 is trying to acquire lock: ffff88811c810d78 (&i3cbus->lock){++++}-{4:4}, at: i3c_device_match_id+0x45/0x370 but task is already holding lock: ffff88811c810d78 (&i3cbus->lock){++++}-{4:4}, at: i3c_master_reg_work_fn+0x21/0x5f0 Fix this by separating device creation from device registration. Populate desc->dev under the maintenance lock, collect the devices that still need registration into a local list, then release the lock before calling device_register(). Finally retake the lock and clean up any devices that failed to register. Use the maintenance lock rather than the normal-use lock while adding device objects. A write-side maintenance lock prevents readers from observing a partially initialized desc->dev during initial device population, or desc->dev disappearing if registration fails. The local list requires a list node, so add a list node member to struct i3c_device. Fri 30 Oct
CVE-2026-90087 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: do not leak an hci_conn when a second LE connect is rejected create_le_conn_complete() decides whether the failed connection is still pending by comparing it against hci_lookup_le_connect(), which returns the first LE connection in BT_CONNECT. That is the same connection only while at most one is pending. Two can be pending. Connections created on the passive scan path sit in BT_CONNECT with HCI_CONN_SCANNING set and are invisible to hci_lookup_le_connect() until hci_le_create_conn_sync() clears the flag when their command is issued, so the -EBUSY guard in hci_connect_le() does not prevent a second connection from being queued while the first is still on the scan path. Whenever two connections are in BT_CONNECT at once, the lookup may return one connection while create_le_conn_complete() is reporting the failure of the other; the early exit then drops the error and hci_conn_failed() never runs on the connection that failed. The controller also rejects a second HCI_OP_LE_CREATE_CONN issued while another connection creation is still outstanding, per Core Spec Vol 4, Part E. The spec calls for Command Disallowed there; the bcm43438 observed here answers with an LMP/LL error code instead, which bt_to_errno() maps to the -EPROTO (-71) in the log below. The leaked connection stays in BT_CONNECT forever, and because hci_connect_le() refuses to dial while hci_lookup_le_connect() finds anything, every subsequent attempt to reach any peer fails with -EBUSY and no command reaches the controller at all. Seen on a bcm43438 with two BLE peers polled on the same interval (state 5 is BT_CONNECT; both handles are UNSET ones, allocated from the ida above HCI_CONN_HANDLE_MAX): Bluetooth: hci1: Opcode 0x2013 failed: -71 # hcitool con < LE 14:9C:EF:03:68:81 handle 3840 state 5 lm CENTRAL < LE C4:D3:6A:8C:B5:38 handle 3841 state 5 lm CENTRAL A btmon capture across the next ten minutes of connect attempts contains no HCI_OP_LE_CREATE_CONN at all; outgoing LE connections do not recover until the adapter is reset. With this change the same scenario fails the rejected connection cleanly and further connects to both peers go through. Ask about the connection itself instead of about the device. Fri 30 Oct

CVE-2026-72336 unscored 0.00% linux In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: 6lowpan: hold L2CAP conn across debugfs control get_l2cap_conn() looks up an LE hci_conn under hdev protection, but then drops that protection before reading hcon->l2cap_data and before lowpan_control_write() later dereferences conn->hcon. A disconnect or device close can tear down the same L2CAP connection in that window. The buggy scenario involves two paths, with each column showing the order within that path: 6LoWPAN control write: HCI disconnect/device close: 1. get_l2cap_conn() finds hcon 1. hci_disconn_cfm() dispatches and hcon->l2cap_data. the L2CAP disconnect callback. 2. get_l2cap_conn() drops hdev 2. l2cap_conn_del() clears protection and returns conn. hcon->l2cap_data and drops the L2CAP connection reference. 3. lowpan_control_write() reads 3. hci_conn_del() removes and drops conn->hcon. the HCI connection. Take a reference to the L2CAP connection with l2cap_conn_hold_unless_zero() while hdev is still locked, and drop that reference after the debugfs command's last use of conn. This mirrors the existing L2CAP ACL receive-side handoff and keeps the connection dereferenceable after leaving hdev protection. Export the existing helper so the bluetooth_6lowpan module can use the same lifetime primitive. CVE-2026-43119 unscored 0.00% linux In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_sync: annotate data-races around hdev->req_status __hci_cmd_sync_sk() sets hdev->req_status under hdev->req_lock: hdev->req_status = HCI_REQ_PEND; However, several other functions read or write hdev->req_status without holding any lock: - hci_send_cmd_sync() reads req_status in hci_cmd_work (workqueue) - hci_cmd_sync_complete() reads/writes from HCI event completion - hci_cmd_sync_cancel() / hci_cmd_sync_cancel_sync() read/write - hci_abort_conn() reads in connection abort path Since __hci_cmd_sync_sk() runs on hdev->req_workqueue while hci_send_cmd_sync() runs on hdev->workqueue, these are different workqueues that can execute concurrently on different CPUs. The plain C accesses constitute a data race. Add READ_ONCE()/WRITE_ONCE() annotations on all concurrent accesses to hdev->req_status to prevent potential compiler optimizations that could affect correctness (e.g., load fusing in the wait_event condition or store reordering). CVE-2026-98738 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: Serialize SMP remote OOB data access build_pairing_cmd() looks up remote OOB data and copies its contents without holding hdev->lock, which serializes the list's writers. After SMP finds an entry, a concurrent management Remove Remote OOB Data command can unlink and free it before SMP reads its present flag or copies its random and confirmation values. Removal can also invalidate an entry while the lookup is still traversing the list. KASAN reported: BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in build_pairing_cmd+0x948/0x9b0 Call Trace: build_pairing_cmd+0x948/0x9b0 smp_recv_cb+0x459f/0x8110 l2cap_recv_frame+0xf14/0x9190 l2cap_recv_acldata+0xa64/0xd40 hci_rx_work+0x4ca/0x730 Allocated by task 87: hci_add_remote_oob_data+0x11d/0x530 add_remote_oob_data+0x282/0x400 hci_sock_sendmsg+0x1033/0x1ea0 Freed by task 93: hci_remote_oob_data_clear+0x108/0x1c0 remove_remote_oob_data+0x198/0x220 hci_sock_sendmsg+0x1033/0x1ea0 Taking hdev->lock in build_pairing_cmd() would recurse for callers that already hold it and invert the device-to-L2CAP lock order on the receive path. Add a per-device remote_oob_lock instead, held across the SMP lookup and copies and by the add, remove and clear helpers. Cover initialization and in-place updates as well, so SMP cannot read partially initialized or updated OOB values. Release the mutex on allocation failure, preserving the existing error return. The new critical sections acquire no device, connection or channel locks. Writers retain their existing hdev->lock protection, which continues to serialize the other readers without changing their locking or behavior. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-98737 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_sync: Fix inquiry cache use-after-free The sync command worker holds hdev->req_lock, but inquiry-cache updates and flushes use hdev->lock. Both hci_acl_create_conn_sync() and hci_stop_discovery_sync() look up entries and read their fields without taking hdev->lock. After either lookup returns, a concurrent HCIINQUIRY ioctl can acquire hdev->lock and flush the cache, freeing the entry. The worker then reads the freed entry while preparing a create-connection or remote-name-cancel command. The list traversal also races with cache updates and removal. CVE-2026-98734 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_core: Serialize SCO and ISO scheduling with teardown hci_low_sent() selects a connection under RCU but drops the read lock before calculating its quota and returning it to the scheduler. The connection is then used without lifetime protection by hci_sched_iso() and hci_sched_sco(). After the TX worker drops the RCU read lock, hci_abort_conn_sync() on hdev->req_workqueue can remove the connection from the hash, complete synchronize_rcu(), purge its queues and release it. The TX worker on hdev->workqueue can then access the freed connection in hci_quote_sent() or while dequeuing packets and updating conn->sent. KASAN reported: BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in hci_low_sent+0x730/0x840 Workqueue: hci0 hci_tx_work Call Trace: hci_low_sent+0x730/0x840 hci_sched_iso+0x25e/0x4d0 hci_tx_work+0x239/0xcb0 Allocated by task 93: __hci_conn_add+0x16f/0x1b40 hci_bind_bis+0x782/0x17b0 hci_connect_bis+0xa0/0x510 iso_sock_connect+0x589/0x1050 Freed by task 88: kfree+0x131/0x3c0 device_release+0xc8/0x240 kobject_put+0x14d/0x280 hci_conn_del+0x55a/0xe80 hci_disconnect_sync+0x156/0x180 hci_abort_conn_sync+0x3e7/0x940 hci_cmd_sync_work+0x13c/0x290 Hold hci_dev_lock() across connection selection and transmission in both SCO and ISO scheduling, serializing them with connection teardown. This also prevents queuing completion timestamps after the connection queues have been purged. Extending RCU across transmission would be unsafe because the transmit path can sleep. Keep the ISO timeout check outside the mutex since hci_link_tx_to() takes it itself. The preceding channel fix already holds this mutex in the ACL and LE schedulers, which call the SCO scheduler between packets. Move the SCO body to __hci_sched_sco(), assert that its caller holds the mutex, and use it directly from these locked paths. Keep a locking hci_sched_sco() wrapper for the direct calls from hci_tx_work(). This avoids recursively acquiring the device mutex while preserving the scheduling order. Remove the obsolete claim that connection removal disables TX. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-97975 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_sysfs: Fix NULL pointer dereference in device_del() A NULL pointer dereference in klist_put() occurs when a child device (such as a BNEP network device in bnep_session) is concurrently being unregistered while hci_conn_del_sysfs() reparents child devices. This is caused by a race condition between hci_conn_del_sysfs() and concurrent child device unregistration (e.g. bnep_session calling unregister_netdev()). During device unregistration, device_del() snapshots a non-NULL parent pointer. Concurrently, hci_conn_del_sysfs() finds the child device using device_find_any_child() and calls device_move() to reparent it to NULL, which removes the node from its parent's klist and clears knode_parent. Subsequently, device_del() calls klist_del(&dev->p->knode_parent) using the stale parent snapshot, causing klist_put() to dereference knode_klist(n)->put on an already removed node, resulting in a NULL pointer dereference. This race was introduced by commit 27aabf27fd01 ("Bluetooth: fix use-after-free in device_for_each_child()"), which replaced device_find_child(..., __match_tty) with device_find_any_child() in hci_conn_del_sysfs(). That change was intended to avoid a use-after-free where conn->dev outlived its parent hdev->dev when child devices held references to conn->dev, because conn->dev only held a reference to hdev->dev while registered in sysfs. Fix the issue properly by taking an explicit reference to the parent device with get_device(&hdev->dev) in hci_conn_init_sysfs() and dropping it with put_device(parent) in bt_link_release() when the conn device is freed. This ensures that hdev->dev remains valid for the entire lifecycle of conn->dev, resolving the underlying use-after-free. With the parent reference held properly, restore the __match_tty filter in hci_conn_del_sysfs() so that device_move() is only invoked on persistent RFCOMM TTY devices as originally intended, eliminating the race condition with unregistering network devices. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-98730 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: btintel_pcie: reject oversized TX packets in send_frame() btintel_pcie_send_frame() eventually copies skb->data into a fixed BTINTEL_PCIE_BUFFER_SIZE (4096) DMA buffer via memcpy() in btintel_pcie_prepare_tx(), with a 4-byte PCIe type header prepended. A user-space process with HCI_CHANNEL_USER access can inject an oversized packet and overflow the buffer. Reject packets larger than BTINTEL_PCIE_BUFFER_SIZE - BTINTEL_PCIE_HCI_TYPE_LEN on entry. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-98633 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: btnxpuart: Fix skb leak in nxp_process_fw_dump() When CONFIG_DEV_COREDUMP=n, hci_devcd_append() returns -EOPNOTSUPP without freeing its skb argument. This leaks the cloned skb and also prevents nxp_set_ind_reset() from being called to perform recovery. Fix by guarding the hci_devcd_append(hdev, skb_clone(skb, GFP_ATOMIC)) call with IS_ENABLED(CONFIG_DEV_COREDUMP). 19 Oct
CVE-2026-98632 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: mgmt: Dequeue pending mesh_send_sync entries on cancel In send_cancel(), pending mesh_tx objects are removed from the hdev->mesh_pending list and freed via mesh_send_complete(). However, if a mesh transmission was already queued onto hdev->cmd_sync_work_list via mesh_next(), the queued entry retains a raw pointer to mesh_tx. When hci_cmd_sync_work later processes the entry, it attempts to execute mesh_send_sync and its destroy callback mesh_send_start_complete using the already freed mesh_tx pointer, leading to a use-after-free. Fix this by invoking hci_cmd_sync_dequeue() for mesh_send_sync on the target mesh_tx before completing it. If the entry is found and dequeued, its destroy callback will complete and free the object; otherwise, mesh_send_complete() is called directly. Additionally, ensure the transmission queue advances after cancellation or errors. In mesh_send_start_complete(), call mesh_next() on error unless err is -ECANCELED, because hci_cmd_sync_dequeue() holds hdev->cmd_sync_work_lock and calling mesh_next() synchronously would deadlock. Instead, advance the queue in send_cancel() once the lock is released and if no transmission is in progress. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-98582 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfc: st21nfca: validate received frame size st21nfca_hci_i2c_repack() trims a received frame at its EOF marker before removing byte stuffing. It then assumes the truncated frame contains the LLC header and two CRC bytes, and it unconditionally reads the byte after an escape marker. A malformed frame can place EOF immediately after the start marker or can end its data portion with an escape marker. The former leaves too few bytes for check_crc(), while the latter makes the unstuffing loop read past the current skb length. Require the minimum framing bytes both before and after unstuffing. Use separate input and output cursors while removing byte stuffing, and reject an escape marker without its encoded byte. This keeps malformed frames within the received frame boundary before CRC processing. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-98462 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_conn: fix CIS hold ownership on reuse Commit 69997d50ec57 ("Bluetooth: ISO: handle bound CIS cleanup via hci_conn") made hci_bind_cis() and hci_connect_cis() return a connection with one hold for the ISO layer. hci_bind_cis() currently takes that hold only after configuring a CIS, so its BT_CONNECTED and matching BT_BOUND paths return a bare lookup result. Its configuration failure path can likewise call hci_conn_drop() before taking a hold. Take the hold before any state-dependent return or configuration error so every successful return follows the documented ownership contract and every error drop is balanced. hci_connect_cis() also assumes hci_conn_link() always takes a new CIS hold before dropping the one returned by hci_bind_cis(). However, the helper returns an existing link without taking another hold. In that case, preserve the CIS hold for the caller and drop the redundant LE hold because the existing link already owns its parent hold. Returning early also avoids changing an existing CIS back to BT_CONNECT. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-98461 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_sock: validate event length before filtering is_filtered_packet() reads the event code from skb->data[0] without first checking that the skb is nonempty. When an opcode filter is configured, it also reads the command opcode at offsets 3 or 4 without checking that a Command Complete or Command Status event is long enough. hci_send_to_sock() invokes the filter before hci_event_packet() validates the event header. A malformed event supplied by a controller or a vhci device can therefore cause an out-of-bounds read. Keep the unmasked event code for the opcode checks. The masked value is needed for the 64-bit event bitmap, but using it to identify command events aliases event codes above 0x3f. In particular, Synchronous Train Complete (0x4f) was treated as Command Status (0x0f) even though its payload has no opcode. Reject actual command events that are too short for the field being inspected. A truncated command event cannot match a configured opcode. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-98460 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_sock: reject out-of-range OCF values The raw HCI socket security filter has 128 OCF bits per supported OGF, but masks the 10-bit OCF with 127 before looking up the command. An unprivileged socket can therefore submit a reserved OCF that aliases an allowlisted command modulo 128. A conforming controller should reject reserved opcodes. Nevertheless, the security decision must apply to the opcode that will actually be sent, especially since controller-specific behavior is outside the host stack's control. Reject OCF values that cannot be represented by the security filter instead of aliasing them onto an unrelated command. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-98459 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: ISO: balance the parent hold in hci_bind_bis() hci_conn_link() takes a lifetime reference to its parent with hci_conn_get(), but only takes an operational hold on the child. hci_conn_unlink() later balances both a hold and a reference on the parent. The SCO and CIS paths pass a parent acquired from a connect helper, so it already has a hold. For an additional BIS, hci_bind_bis() obtains the parent from hci_conn_hash_lookup_big(), which returns a bare pointer. Unlinking the child then drops the parent's existing hold and can schedule it for disconnection while its socket is still using it. Take a hold on the parent before linking it and drop that hold if linking fails. A successful link transfers the hold to hci_conn_unlink(). 19 Oct
CVE-2026-98458 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: ISO: release unused CIS holds after channel attach hci_bind_cis() and hci_connect_cis() return one hci_conn hold for the ISO layer. A new channel association consumes that hold, which is eventually released by iso_conn_free(). There are two cases where iso_chan_add() does not create an association: it returns success when the socket is already attached to the same iso_conn, and it returns -EBUSY when another socket is attached. The hold returned for the current call is unused in both cases. This occurs when deferred setup calls iso_connect_cis() again for its existing socket, or when another socket attempts to reuse the CIS. Detect the idempotent case while the connection is locked and release the unused hold after iso_chan_add(). Also release it on -EBUSY. Do not drop it for other errors: a newly allocated iso_conn releases the transferred hold when its last temporary reference is put. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-98295 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: coredump: Quiesce dump work on unregister hci_devcd_handle_pkt_init() arms dump_timeout and coredump producers queue dump_rx without holding an hdev reference. Unregister leaves both works live, so disconnecting during an active dump lets them access hdev after hci_release_dev() frees it. Shut down coredump processing during unregister. Close the producer gate under dump_q.lock before disabling both works, then free the active buffer and queued packets under hci_dev_lock. Serializing the gate with enqueue prevents controller-specific workers from adding packets after the final purge. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-98294 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_qca: Do not write to the serial port after it is closed hci_uart_close() closes the serdev port if HCI_QUIRK_NON_PERSISTENT_SETUP is set (for example, for the WCN399x family). A failed hci_dev_open_sync() following a successful qca_setup() calls hdev->close() but not hdev->shutdown(), so the port is closed while power->vregs_on is left true. qca_serdev_remove() then passes its power->vregs_on test and calls qca_power_off(), which writes to the closed port unconditionally. Seen on a WCN3988 by unbinding the driver after a controller failure. The trace below is from a 7.0.0 based kernel, where qca_power_off() was still named qca_power_shutdown(): Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 0000000000000038 Call trace: tty_set_termios+0x50/0x238 (P) ttyport_set_baudrate+0x84/0xc0 serdev_device_set_baudrate+0x24/0x40 qca_power_shutdown+0x158/0x1fc [hci_uart] qca_serdev_remove+0x54/0x68 [hci_uart] serdev_drv_remove+0x1c/0x2c device_remove+0x4c/0x80 device_release_driver_internal+0x1cc/0x224 device_driver_detach+0x18/0x24 unbind_store+0xb4/0xc0 Check HCI_UART_PROTO_READY, which hci_uart_close() clears in the same place it closes the port, before writing to it. CVE-2026-98292 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: btmtksdio, btmtkuart: validate WMT event length before struct access btmtksdio.c and btmtkuart.c cast a received WMT event straight to struct btmtk_hci_wmt_evt and read its op/flag fields without checking the event is long enough to contain them, unlike btmtk.c. The FUNC_CTRL case then further casts to struct btmtk_hci_wmt_evt_funcc and reads its 2-byte status field, again without a length check. Firmware that sends a short or malformed WMT event makes both drivers read past the end of the received SKB. Mirror btmtk.c: validate the base WMT header with skb_pull_data() before touching any of its fields, and when a FUNC_CTRL event turns out to be the short, header-only form (a plain enable/disable ack with no status word), decode the result from the header's own flag byte instead (0 = success, otherwise failure). Verified setup on MT7920, MT7921, MT7922 and MT7925: no regression. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-98247 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_codec: validate vendor codec count length The Read Local Supported Codecs parsers consume the variable-sized standard codec array before parsing the vendor codec count. Although the initial reply-size check includes a vendor count byte in the fixed layout, it does not guarantee that the byte remains after the standard codec array. If a controller reply ends immediately after that array, calculating the vendor codec array size reads vnd_codecs->num beyond the skb data. Use skb_pull_data() to validate and consume each codec header before using its count in both command variants. 19 Oct

CVE-2026-97977 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: btusb: Fix UAF of btusb_data by rx_work btusb_close() and btusb_flush() cancel data->rx_work with the asynchronous cancel_delayed_work(), so if btusb_rx_work() is already running on another CPU it keeps running after the cancel returns. btusb_disconnect() calls hci_unregister_dev(), which invokes btusb_close(), and then frees the btusb_data. A still running btusb_rx_work() then dereferences the freed data: while ((skb = skb_dequeue(&data->acl_q))) data->recv_acl(data->hdev, skb); Use cancel_delayed_work_sync() instead. In btusb_close() the cancel also has to happen after btusb_stop_traffic(), otherwise an URB completion racing with the cancel can requeue the work right after it has been waited for. 19 Oct

The firmware reply is received and processed, but hci_req_cmd_complete() finds NULL req_skb, so hci_cmd_sync_complete() is never called, req_status stays HCI_REQ_PEND, and the waiter times out with -ETIMEDOUT. req_skb is only used to read bt_cb(skb)->hci callbacks and opcode -- it is never modified. Replace skb_clone() with skb_get(), which simply increments the reference count of hdev->sent_cmd without allocating new memory and therefore cannot fail. This issue was first observed as a use-after-free in ttyport_close() when ttyport_open() failed, which was investigated in an earlier patch series [1]. That investigation led to the discovery of the true root cause described above. [1] https://lore.kernel.org/all/[email protected]/ 19 Oct

CVE-2026-90257 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: virtio_bt: avoid OOB read of build info string The virtbt_setup_zephyr() sends the Zephyr vendor command 0xfc08 (Read Build Information) and hands the response to bt_dev_info() and hci_set_fw_info() as a "%s" string starting at skb->data + 1, without checking the length. A backend that answers with status only leaves that pointer past the end of the received data, so the walk reads adjacent slab memory until it meets a NUL. Those bytes reach the kernel log and the firmware-info debugfs file. To fix this, print the string with a bounded "%.*s" limited to skb->len - 1. A short or unterminated response then prints as much as arrived instead of failing setup. This mirrors commit dd068ef04412 ("Bluetooth: bpa10x: avoid OOB read of revision string in bpa10x_setup()"), which fixed the identical pattern. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-90254 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_sync: free the advertising instance on the failure and cancel paths adv_timeout_expire() hands a kmalloc()ed instance byte to hci_cmd_sync_queue() with a NULL destroy callback, and only adv_timeout_expire_sync() frees it. That leaks on two paths: - the return value is not checked, and hci_cmd_sync_queue() does not take ownership when it fails (-ENETDOWN, -ENODEV, -ENOMEM); - a cancelled entry is not released, as _hci_cmd_sync_cancel_entry() does not free entry->data when there is no destroy callback. hci_cmd_sync_clear() cancels every pending entry when the controller is unregistered. Free the buffer from a destroy callback, and in the caller when the entry could not be queued at all. 19 Oct
