CVE-2026-74376 9.8 critical 1.0% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: md/raid10: reset read_slot when reusing r10bio for discard put_all_bios() always drops devs[i].bio, but it only drops devs[i].repl_bio when r10_bio->read_slot < 0. If discard reuses an r10bio that was previously used for a read, read_slot can still be non-negative, and discard cleanup can skip bio_put() on repl_bio. Reset read_slot to -1 when preparing an r10bio for discard so the replacement bio is always released correctly. 16 Oct
CVE-2026-74361 9.8 critical 1.0% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme: fix FDP fdpcidx bounds check The fdpcidx bounds check sets n = NUMFDPC + 1 but used > instead of >=, incorrectly accepting fdp_idx when it equals n (i.e. NUMFDPC + 1). 16 Oct
CVE-2026-72436 9.8 critical 1.0% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: ipset: Don't use test_bit() in lockless RCU readers in hash types Sashiko pointed out that there are a few lockless RCU readers using test_bit() which is a relaxed atomic operation and provides no memory barrier guarantees. Use test_bit_acquire() instead where the operation may run parallel with add/del/gc, i.e. is not one from the next cases - protected by region lock - in a set destroy phase - in a new/temporary set creation phase 16 Oct
CVE-2026-72251 9.8 critical 1.0% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nf_nat_sip: reload possible stale data pointer quoting sashiko: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [..] noticed a potential memory bug and header corruption involving the SIP NAT helper. In net/netfilter/nf_nat_sip.c:nf_nat_sip(): if (skb_ensure_writable(skb, skb->len)) { nf_ct_helper_log(skb, ct, "cannot mangle packet"); return NF_DROP; } uh = (void *)skb->data + protoff; uh->dest = ct_sip_info->forced_dport; if (!nf_nat_mangle_udp_packet(skb, ct, ctinfo, protoff, 0, 0, NULL, 0)) { If a cloned or fragmented SKB is reallocated by skb_ensure_writable(), the old data buffer is freed. However, nf_nat_sip() fails to update *dptr to point to the new buffer. It also appears to use nf_nat_mangle_udp_packet() on what could be a TCP packet, which would overwrite the sequence number with a checksum update. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ nf_conntrack_sip linerizes skbs, hence no fragmented skb can be seen. But clones are possible, so rebuild dptr. Disable nf_nat_mangle_udp_packet() branch for TCP streams. It doesn't look like this can ever happen, else we should have received bug reports about this, so just check the conntrack is UDP and drop otherwise. The calling conntrack_sip set ->forced_dport for SIP_HDR_VIA_UDP messages, so I don't think this is ever expected to be true for a TCP stream. 16 Oct
CVE-2023-53867 9.8 critical 1.0% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ceph: fix potential use-after-free bug when trimming caps When trimming the caps and just after the 'session->s_cap_lock' is released in ceph_iterate_session_caps() the cap maybe removed by another thread, and when using the stale cap memory in the callbacks it will trigger use-after-free crash. We need to check the existence of the cap just after the 'ci->i_ceph_lock' being acquired. And do nothing if it's already removed. 15 Oct
CVE-2025-59953 9.8 critical 1.0% no CPE yet LMDeploy is a toolkit for compressing, deploying, and serving large language models. Starting in version 0.9.1 and prior to version 0.10.2, the LMdeploy implements an rpc server (AsyncRPCServer in zmq_rpc.py) for supporting the RPC communications. In its core functionality call_and_response(), I found it will directly use the pickles.loads() to deserialize the received messages without any sanitization, hence resulting in a remote code execution vulnerability by this RPC server. Version 0.10.2 contains a patch. 14 Oct

CVE-2025-55108 9.5 critical 1.0% no CPE yet The Control-M/Agent is vulnerable to unauthenticated remote code execution, arbitrary file read and write and similar unauthorized actions when mutual SSL/TLS authentication is not enabled (i.e. in the default configuration). NOTE: * The vendor believes that this vulnerability only occurs when documented security best practices are not followed. BMC has always strongly recommended to use security best practices such as configuring SSL/TLS between Control-M Server and Agent. * The vendor notifies that Control-M/Agent is not impacted in Control-M SaaS 18 Oct
CVE-2026-69264 9.4 critical 1.0% flowiseai, flowise Prior to 3.1.3, Flowise CSVAgent interpolates an attacker-controlled segment of the csvFile data URI directly into a Python source-code template that is then executed by Pyodide. Because Pyodide is loaded with the default js bridge to globalThis, which on Node.js exposes eval and dynamic import, the attacker can break out of the Python string literal, hand a JavaScript string to js.eval, dynamically import Node built-in modules such as fs and child_process, and execute arbitrary file I/O or OS commands as the Flowise process. The two validator paths around this code, validatePythonCodeForDataFrame and validateCustomReadCSVFunction, are never applied to the bootstrap template. A workspace user with chatflows:create or agentflows/chatflows update permission can plant a CSV Agent node with a crafted csvFile; once the chatflow is exposed via POST /api/v1/prediction/:id, any unauthenticated request triggers host remote code execution. This issue is fixed in version 3.1.3. 24 Oct
CVE-2026-9177 9.4 critical 1.0% no CPE yet A Server-Side Template Injection (SSTI) vulnerability was identified in the mail template functionality of the Axway SecureTransport product in version 5.5-20260326. This flaw allows an attacker with admin privileges to inject arbitrary Java code expressions, which are executed server-side when the template is rendered (i.e., during email sending). Successful exploitation of this flaw allows an attacker to execute arbitrary code on the server that results in full host compromise. This issue affects all Axway SecureTransport versions prior 5.5-20260528 update. 23 Oct
CVE-2026-109439 9.3 critical 1.0% no CPE yet Lantronix XPress-DR and XPress-DR-I (CoBos-family) firmware through 8.1.0.0 contains a missing authentication vulnerability that allows remote attackers to read and persistently overwrite device configuration by sending crafted frames to the unauthenticated UDP configuration protocol on port 30718. Attackers can send a type 0xF8 query to read live configuration data and a type 0xFD frame with exactly 0x78 body bytes to rewrite the device IP address and serial-channel forwarding records, causing changes to commit to EEPROM and persist across reboots. The XPress-DR product series reached end-of-life/end-of-support in February 2025. 16 Oct
CVE-2026-48713 9.1 critical 1.0% i18next, i18next-fs-backend Versions prior to 2.6.6 are vulnerable to prototype pollution via crafted missing-key strings when used to persist missing translation keys (e.g. via i18next-http-middleware's missingKeyHandler exposed to untrusted input). Backend.writeFile() splits each queued missing-key string on the configured keySeparator (default .) before calling the internal setPath() walker. The walker (getLastOfPath in lib/utils.js) did not guard against unsafe segments, so a key like "__proto__.polluted" was split into ["__proto__", "polluted"] and walked straight into Object.prototype, allowing an attacker to write arbitrary properties onto the global object prototype. Depending on the host application, polluted prototype properties may cause crashes, corrupted translation behaviour, configuration poisoning, or bypasses of property-based security checks. Applications are affected only if the missingKeyHandler (or another route that forwards untrusted request bodies to i18next.t(..., { ... }) with saveMissing: true) is reachable by untrusted users and the default behaviour of splitting missing-key strings on keySeparator is in use (i.e. keySeparator is not false). Apps that do not expose missing-key persistence to untrusted input are not directly affected through this attack path. This issue has been fixed in version 2.6.6. If developers using the library are unable to upgrade immediately, they should take the following precautions: do not expose i18next-http-middleware's missingKeyHandler to untrusted users (mount it behind authentication, or remove the route), disable missing-key persistence (saveMissing: false, or no backend.create implementation) when accepting writes from untrusted input, and set keySeparator: false in their i18next options to disable backend key splitting (note: this also disables nested translation keys). CVE-2026-45689 9.1 critical 1.0% no CPE yet Rocket.Chat is an open-source, secure, fully customizable communications platform. Prior to 8.5.0, 8.4.1, 8.3.3, 8.2.3, 8.1.4, 8.0.5, 7.13.7, and 7.10.11, an unauthenticated network attacker obtains a valid Rocket.Chat OAuth access token for an arbitrary user by sending a single HTTP POST with MongoDB query operators to /oauth/token. The Rocket.Chat OAuth2 server does not validate that grant parameters are strings before forwarding them to findOne({...}) against the oauth_apps and oauth_access_tokens collections, so an attacker substitutes {"$ne": null} for client_id, client_secret, and refresh_token and receives a freshly minted {access_token, refresh_token} pair bound to whichever user's refresh token Mongo returned first. The resulting access token is a first-class bearer credential against the full /api/v1/* surface as that user. By iterating with $nin / $regex operators the attacker walks the entire oauth_access_tokens collection, collecting one fresh access token per user per request. If any matched token belongs to an admin, the stolen bearer gives full admin API access (including Apps-Engine app installation, i.e. server-side code execution). No account, credentials, userId, or prior interaction with the instance are required. This vulnerability is fixed in 8.5.0, 8.4.1, 8.3.3, 8.2.3, 8.1.4, 8.0.5, 7.13.7, and 7.10.11. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2026-59145 9.1 critical 1.0% no CPE yet Data::Intern::Shared versions before 0.02 for Perl allow an out-of-bounds read via unvalidated slot, reverse and arena indices in si_idx_find. The attach-time validator si_validate_header is thorough about the header and layout (magic, version, section offsets, total_size, count and arena_used) but does not validate the three arrays it then trusts. Every lookup in si_idx_find walks a triple indirection read straight from the mmap'd segment, arena[reverse[slots[i].id]], with no bound on slots[i].id against count, on the reverse[id] arena offset against arena_used, or on the arena record's length prefix. A local peer that can write the backing file can leave the header valid while poisoning a slot id, a reverse offset or an arena length prefix, so an id_of, intern or string lookup dereferences the chain out of bounds; because string() returns a file-controlled length of bytes from the arena, adjacent process memory can be disclosed. 24 Oct
CVE-2026-101634 9.1 critical 1.0% no CPE yet Vulnerability in the Oracle Mobile Field Service product of Oracle E-Business Suite (component: Internal Operations). Supported versions that are affected are 12.2.3-12.2.15. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise Oracle Mobile Field Service. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all Oracle Mobile Field Service accessible data and unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete DOS) of Oracle Mobile Field Service. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 9.1 (Confidentiality and Availability impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:H). 21 Oct
CVE-2026-89713 9.1 critical 1.0% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NFSD: check truncate permission under inode lock nfsd_setattr() checks whether a size update needs NFSD_MAY_TRUNC before it takes inode_lock(). The comparison uses the file size sampled by that unlocked read, but the actual ATTR_SIZE update is applied later under inode_lock() by notify_change(). This leaves a TOCTOU window for append-only files. If a client sends a SETATTR that does not shrink the file at the time of the unlocked sample, a concurrent append can extend the file before nfsd_setattr() takes inode_lock(). notify_change() then applies a real truncation without the NFSD_MAY_TRUNC check that rejects IS_APPEND(inode). The VFS truncate syscall paths perform their own append-only checks before calling notify_change(), so NFSD must make this decision against the locked size it is about to change. Split the write-count acquisition from the truncation permission check. Keep get_write_access() before the locked setattr work, then recheck whether the requested size is below i_size_read(inode) after inode_lock() has been acquired and before notify_change(ATTR_SIZE). This also avoids the plain unlocked inode->i_size load. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-52958 9.1 critical 1.0% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libceph: Fix potential out-of-bounds access in osdmap_decode() When decoding osd_state and osd_weight from an incoming osdmap in osdmap_decode(), both are decoded for each osd, i.e., map->max_osd times. The ceph_decode_need() check only accounts for sizeof(*map->osd_weight) once. This can potentially result in an out-of-bounds memory access if the incoming message is corrupted such that the max_osd value exceeds the actual content of the osdmap message. This patch fixes the issue by changing the corresponding part in the ceph_decode_need() check to account for map->max_osd*sizeof(*map->osd_weight). 19 Oct
CVE-2026-71235 8.8 high 1.0% no CPE yet Magistrala's Rules Engine allows authenticated users to create rules with embedded Go or Lua scripts executed server-side when IoT messages arrive. The Lua script engine (re/lua.go) performs no input validation at all and preloads dangerous libraries: db (arbitrary database access), ioutil (file I/O), an HTTP client (SSRF), and filepath (traversal). 24 Oct

CVE-2025-62703 8.8 high 1.0% fugue-project, fugue Fugue is a unified interface for distributed computing that lets users execute Python, Pandas, and SQL code on Spark, Dask, and Ray with minimal rewrites. In version 0.9.2 and prior, there is a remote code execution vulnerability by pickle deserialization via FlaskRPCServer. The Fugue framework implements an RPC server system for distributed computing operations. In the core functionality of the RPC server implementation, I found that the _decode() function in fugue/rpc/flask.py directly uses cloudpickle.loads() to deserialize data without any sanitization. This creates a remote code execution vulnerability when malicious pickle data is processed by the RPC server. The vulnerability exists in the RPC communication mechanism where the client can send arbitrary serialized Python objects that will be deserialized on the server side, allowing attackers to execute arbitrary code on the victim's machine. This issue has been patched via commit 6f25326. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-89493 8.8 high 1.0% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ocfs2: validate rl_used against rl_count in refcount block validator ocfs2_find_refcount_rec_in_rl() walks the on-disk refcount record array with: for (; i < le16_to_cpu(rb->rf_records.rl_used); i++) { rec = &rb->rf_records.rl_recs[i]; ... rl_recs[] lives in a single metadata block (4096 bytes on the common configuration), so its real capacity is fixed by ocfs2_refcount_recs_per_rb(sb) (247 records for a 4K block with the 16-byte ocfs2_refcount_rec). rl_used and rl_count are both read directly off disk by ocfs2_validate_refcount_block() and are never checked against that capacity, nor against each other, before any refcount/reflink/CoW operation walks the array. A crafted (or corrupted) refcount block with rl_used == 0xffff makes the loop above walk far past the end of the block, dereferencing rl_recs[i] for i up to 65534. The resulting index is then handed to the sibling ocfs2_insert_refcount_rec(), whose insert-shift does: if (index < le16_to_cpu(rf_list->rl_used)) memmove(&rf_list->rl_recs[index + 1], &rf_list->rl_recs[index], (le16_to_cpu(rf_list->rl_used) - index) * sizeof(struct ocfs2_refcount_rec)); i.e. a memmove() of up to (0xffff - index) * 16 bytes (~1 MiB) from an offset already past the block. This is reachable from an ordinary reflink (FICLONE) against a crafted/corrupted ocfs2 image: attaching an extent whose cpos sorts past every real record in the leaf forces the lookup to run off the end instead of returning early on a match. The attacker model is local: CAP_SYS_ADMIN mounting a crafted or corrupted ocfs2 image, or a raw write to the block device backing an already-mounted ocfs2 filesystem. ocfs2_validate_refcount_block() already validates the block's ECC, signature, rf_blkno and rf_fs_generation, but never rl_count/rl_used against the block's actual on-disk capacity. This is the same class of gap that ocfs2_validate_extent_block() (fs/ocfs2/alloc.c) already closes for the sibling extent-list header, which checks both the record capacity and the "used" bound before any code walks h_list.l_recs[]: if (le16_to_cpu(eb->h_list.l_count) != ocfs2_extent_recs_per_eb(sb)) { rc = ocfs2_error(...); goto bail; } if (le16_to_cpu(eb->h_list.l_next_free_rec) > le16_to_cpu(eb->h_list.l_count)) { rc = ocfs2_error(...); goto bail; } Add the equivalent pair of checks to ocfs2_validate_refcount_block(): reject a refcount block whose rl_count does not match the fixed per-block capacity returned by ocfs2_refcount_recs_per_rb(), and reject rl_used > rl_count. Both checks are skipped when OCFS2_REFCOUNT_TREE_FL is set, because in that case the same union bytes hold an ocfs2_extent_list (rf_list), not the refcount record list (rf_records) -- that layout is already validated separately by ocfs2_validate_extent_block() when the referenced extent block is read. This mirrors the existing "!(rb->rf_flags & OCFS2_REFCOUNT_TREE_FL)" guard used elsewhere in this file (e.g. ocfs2_get_refcount_rec()) to decide whether rf_records or rf_list is the live member of the union. With this in place, a forged rl_used/rl_count is caught at block validation time (ocfs2_error()), consistent with every other corruption check in this function, instead of driving an out-of-bounds read in ocfs2_find_refcount_rec_in_rl() and a subsequent out-of-bounds memmove() in ocfs2_insert_refcount_rec(). Verified against a crafted image on a v6.19 KASAN (KASAN_GENERIC) build: replaying the same reflink (FICLONE) reliably hit a KASAN report in __ocfs2_increase_refcount()/ocfs2_insert_refcount_rec() before this patch, and triggers no report once ocfs2_validate_refcount_block() rejects the forged rl_used/rl_count. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-72160 8.8 high 1.0% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ocfs2: reject dinodes with non-canonical i_mode type Patch series "ocfs2: harden inode validators against forged metadata", v2. This series adds three structural checks to OCFS2 dinode validation so malformed on-disk fields are rejected before ocfs2_populate_inode() copies them into the in-core inode. The checks cover: - i_mode values whose type bits do not name a canonical POSIX file type; - non-device dinodes whose id1.dev1.i_rdev field is non-zero; and - non-inline dinodes that claim non-zero i_size while i_clusters is zero, covering directories unconditionally and regular files on non-sparse volumes. The normal read path reports these through ocfs2_error(), matching the existing suballoc-slot, inline-data, chain-list, and refcount checks. The online filecheck path uses the same structural predicates but keeps its own reporting contract, returning OCFS2_FILECHECK_ERR_INVALIDINO instead of calling ocfs2_error(). This patch (of 3): ocfs2_validate_inode_block() currently accepts any non-zero i_mode value. ocfs2_populate_inode() then copies that mode verbatim into inode->i_mode and dispatches on i_mode & S_IFMT to the file/dir/symlink/special_file iops; an unrecognised type falls through to ocfs2_special_file_iops and init_special_inode(). Reject dinodes whose type bits do not name one of the seven canonical POSIX file types. Use fs_umode_to_ftype(), the same generic file-type conversion helper OCFS2 already uses for directory entries, so the accepted inode type set matches the kernel file-type vocabulary instead of open-coding a local switch. Apply the same structural check to the online filecheck read path. filecheck keeps its own error namespace, so it reports malformed i_mode through the filecheck logger and OCFS2_FILECHECK_ERR_INVALIDINO instead of calling ocfs2_error(), but it must not allow a malformed dinode to proceed into ocfs2_populate_inode(). 16 Oct
CVE-2026-70464 8.7 high 1.0% no CPE yet rsync daemon 2.0.0 before 3.5.0 contains a denial of service vulnerability that allows unauthenticated remote attackers to exhaust daemon connection slots by stalling the handshake process before or after module selection without triggering the I/O timeout. Attackers can open many simultaneous connections and trickle data at the minimum rate to avoid timeout, or stall entirely before module selection where no timeout applies, consuming all available connection slots and denying service to legitimate clients. 24 Oct
CVE-2026-80590 8.6 high 1.0% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: inet: frags: strip GSO state from fragments before reassembly A virtio_net_hdr (tun/tap, or AF_PACKET with PACKET_VNET_HDR) can mark an IPv4 or IPv6 fragment as GSO; nothing relates gso_type to frag_off. inet_frag_reasm_prepare()/inet_frag_reasm_finish() keep the first fragment's skb as the head of the reassembled datagram, including its shinfo->gso_size/gso_type/gso_segs, and chain the remaining fragments on frag_list with whatever linear/paged layout they arrived with. After ip_defrag() (ip_local_deliver(), nf_defrag_ipv4, ...) the reassembled skb therefore still claims to be GSO (SKB_GSO_DODGY), and the next software segmentation point - udp_rcv_segment() on local delivery, validate_xmit_skb(), or the ip_finish_output_gso() slow path - hands it to skb_segment(). skb_segment()'s frag_list walk assumes GRO-shaped input and hits one of its BUG_ON()s. Two writes to a tap by an unprivileged user in its own userns are enough: kernel BUG at net/core/skbuff.c:4899! The same is reachable with CAP_NET_RAW in a netns where a defrag point precedes a GSO point, and from a guest whose VMM forwards virtio_net_hdr to a tap. The SKB_GSO_DODGY frag_list checks added by commit 3dcbdb134f32 ("net: gso: Fix skb_segment splat when splitting gso_size mangled skb having linear-headed frag_list") and by commit 9e4b7a99a03a ("net: gso: fix panic on frag_list with mixed head alloc types") do not cover it: page-backed heads skip them, and kmalloc heads skip them when gso_size == skb_headlen(head), which the sender controls. An skb entering a frag queue is an IP fragment by definition and cannot legitimately carry GSO state: GRO does not merge fragments and the stack segments before it fragments, so only untrusted sources are affected. This has been reachable since commit f43798c27684 ("tun: Allow GSO using virtio_net_hdr"), the first path that let userspace attach GSO metadata to an IP fragment. Reset the GSO fields of every fragment as it is queued, in inet_frag_queue_insert(), which IPv4, IPv6, nf_conntrack_reasm and 6lowpan reassembly share; then neither the head nor the frag_list members of the reassembled skb carry them (the members matter too: the ip_do_fragment()/ip6_fragment() fast paths send them out as they are). The head may remain CHECKSUM_PARTIAL; that is already accepted on receive and resolved by skb_checksum_help() in ip_do_fragment()/ip6_fragment() on forward. Tested on top of net.git (dc4b95b8fee9), x86_64: the tap reproducer above, two further IPv4 frag_list geometries that reach BUG_ON(i >= nfrags) and BUG_ON(!list_skb->head_frag), and an IPv6 fragment-header variant (udp6_ufo_fragment()) each panic the unpatched kernel; with this patch all four datagrams are delivered intact and nothing is logged. 19 Oct

CVE-2026-89973 8.2 high 1.0% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme-tcp: check the data direction of a C2HData PDU nvme_tcp_handle_c2h_data() finds the request by command id and checks that it has a payload, but it does not check that the command asked for data to be read. A controller that answers a write command with C2HData therefore reaches nvme_tcp_recv_data(), where _copy_to_iter() hits WARN_ON_ONCE(i->data_source) and returns 0. The receive path turns that into -EFAULT and resets the controller. No data is copied, so this is not memory corruption. What a controller gets is a kernel warning it can raise at will, which is fatal on a host booted with panic_on_warn. The send path already knows the direction - it consults rq_data_dir() when it builds a command - and nvme_tcp_handle_r2t() checks the length and the offset of the request it names. The C2HData path does not check the direction at all. Reject a C2HData PDU whose command is not a read. Rejecting it fails the command and resets the controller, as the neighbouring check in this function does; what goes away is the warning. CVE-2025-59937 8.2 high 1.0% pebcak, go-mail go-mail is a comprehensive library for sending mails with Go. In versions 0.7.0 and below, due to incorrect handling of the mail.Address values when a sender- or recipient address is passed to the corresponding MAIL FROM or RCPT TO commands of the SMTP client, there is a possibility of wrong address routing or even ESMTP parameter smuggling. For successful exploitation, it is required that the user's code allows for arbitrary mail address input (i. e. through a web form or similar). If only static mail addresses are used (i. e. in a config file) and the mail addresses in use do not consist of quoted local parts, this should not affect users. This issue is fixed in version 0.7.1 9 Oct

CVE-2026-90176 8.1 high 1.0% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: Do not skip lock checks for single-byte ranges check_lock_range() uses inclusive ranges. Its callers pass the end offset as start + length - 1, so start == end represents a valid single-byte range rather than an empty range. The start == end shortcut therefore skips mandatory byte-range lock checks for one-byte reads, writes, copychunk operations and one-byte truncate ranges. A conflicting lock covering that byte is not checked and the operation is allowed to proceed. Remove the shortcut. The truncate size == inode->i_size case is already handled by only calling check_lock_range() when the new size differs from the current file size. 19 Oct

CVE-2026-7831 7.6 high 1.0% uvnc, ultravnc UltraVNC viewer through 1.8.2.2 contains an off-by-one stack buffer overflow in the RFB ServerInit message handler. In vncviewer/ClientConnection.cpp, when the server-supplied nameLength equals exactly 2024 the code declares a 2024-byte stack buffer _dn[2024] and calls ReadString(_dn, 2024). ReadString writes the NUL terminator at buf[length], i.e., _dn[2024], one byte past the end of the stack buffer. A malicious VNC server can trigger this condition by advertising a desktop name of length 2024 in its ServerInit message. On release builds without stack canaries the single-byte NUL overwrite adjacent stack data. On builds with /GS stack protection the canary is corrupted and the process terminates, resulting in denial of service. User interaction (connecting the viewer to the malicious server) is required. CVE-2024-53178 7.5 high 1.0% linux In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: Don't leak cfid when reconnect races with open_cached_dir open_cached_dir() may either race with the tcon reconnection even before compound_send_recv() or directly trigger a reconnection via SMB2_open_init() or SMB_query_info_init(). The reconnection process invokes invalidate_all_cached_dirs() via cifs_mark_open_files_invalid(), which removes all cfids from the cfids->entries list but doesn't drop a ref if has_lease isn't true. This results in the currently-being-constructed cfid not being on the list, but still having a refcount of 2. It leaks if returned from open_cached_dir(). Fix this by setting cfid->has_lease when the ref is actually taken; the cfid will not be used by other threads until it has a valid time.
