| CVE-2026-97590 | unscored | 0.00% | no CPE yet | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: s390/crypto: Fix missing scrub of temp buffers with PAES algorithm In function ctr_paes_do_crypt() there is a buffer used to process remaining bytes < AES_BLOCK_SIZE. This buffer was not scrubbed and thus could lead to expose of unwanted data. Rework the code to explicitly scrub the buffer at the end of the function to avoid exposure of maybe sensitive data. In function __xts_2keys_prep_param() change the existing scrub to clean the whole param block instead of just the key field. | 19 Oct |
| CVE-2026-93106 | unscored | 0.00% | no CPE yet | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crash_dump: release keyring reference at the correct time restore_dm_crypt_keys_to_thread_keyring() gets a reference to the user keyring before restoring the saved dm-crypt keys. The same keyring reference is then passed to add_key_to_keyring() for each saved key, but add_key_to_keyring() drops that reference on every call. This is only balanced when exactly one key is restored. With multiple keys, the keyring reference is dropped too many times and may trigger a refcount underflow or use-after-free. When more than five keys are restored, a refcount underflow/use-after-free warning can be triggered. The early error paths after lookup_user_key() also return without dropping the keyring reference. Keep ownership of the keyring reference in restore_dm_crypt_keys_to_thread_keyring(), drop it once on all exit paths, and make add_key_to_keyring() only use the reference without consuming it. | 19 Oct |
| CVE-2026-80853 | unscored | 0.00% | no CPE yet | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: SEV: Allocate full pages for {DE,EN}CRYPT ops on SNP-enabled hosts When {de,en}crypting memory of an SEV or SEV-ES guest on an SNP-enabled host via a temporary buffer, allocate a full 4KiB page for the buffer to ensure the page containing the buffer is wholly owned by KVM, i.e. won't be concurrently allocated and accessed by other kernel code while KVM is using the buffer to {de,en}crypt memory. On SNP-enabled platforms, when sending SEV/SEV-ES commands that trigger firmware writes to memory, the to-be-written page(s) must be (temporarily) assigned to Firmware (as required by the SNP architecture, to guard against using such commands as gadgets to attack SNP guests). See snp_map_cmd_buf_desc() and friends. Unfortunately, transferring ownership of a page to Firmware makes the page inaccessible to software, and thus writes generate RMP #PF violations. If KVM uses a sub-page allocation for its temporary buffer, some other actor in the kernel can allocate and use the other portions of the page, and thus trigger unexpected (and seemingly spurious) RMP #PF violations due to software attempting to access a Firmware-owned page. BUG: unable to handle page fault for address: ffff906ae30f0300 #PF: supervisor write access in kernel mode #PF: error_code(0x80000003) - RMP violation PGD 6b1b80d067 P4D 6b1b80d067 PUD 100231e2063 PMD 10055a88063 PTE 80000100630f0163 SEV-SNP: PFN 0x100630f0 unassigned, dumping non-zero entries in 2M PFN region: [0x10063000 - 0x10063200] Oops: Oops: 0003 [#1] SMP CPU: 70 UID: 0 PID: 10658 Comm: svw_WaiterThrea Tainted: G U W O 7.1.0-smp--c22293789940-seanjc-next #1 PREEMPTLAZY Tainted: [U]=USER, [W]=WARN, [O]=OOT_MODULE Hardware name: Google, Inc. | CVE-2026-80831 | unscored | 0.00% | no CPE yet | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: mxs-dcp - fix source scatterlist length access mxs_dcp_aes_block_crypt() uses sg_dma_len() without mapping the source scatterlist with dma_map_sg() first. Therefore, sg_dma_len() is invalid and could return zero or a stale DMA length, causing encryption and decryption to process the wrong number of bytes when CONFIG_NEED_SG_DMA_LENGTH=y. Use the original scatterlist length instead. | 19 Oct |
| CVE-2025-40295 | unscored | 0.00% | no CPE yet | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fscrypt: fix left shift underflow when inode->i_blkbits > PAGE_SHIFT When simulating an nvme device on qemu with both logical_block_size and physical_block_size set to 8 KiB, an error trace appears during partition table reading at boot time. The issue is caused by inode->i_blkbits being larger than PAGE_SHIFT, which leads to a left shift of -1 and triggering a UBSAN warning. File I/O does not trigger this problem because for filesystems that do not support the FS_LBS feature, sb_set_blocksize() prevents sb->s_blocksize_bits from being larger than PAGE_SHIFT. During inode allocation, alloc_inode()->inode_init_always() assigns inode->i_blkbits from sb->s_blocksize_bits. Currently, only xfs_fs_type has the FS_LBS flag, and since xfs I/O paths do not reach submit_bh_wbc(), it does not hit the left-shift underflow issue. [EB: use folio_pos() and consolidate the two shifts by i_blkbits] | 18 Oct |
