CVE-2025-11489 1.1 low 0.00% wonderwhy-er, desktopcommandermcp A security vulnerability has been detected in wonderwhy-er DesktopCommanderMCP up to 0.2.13. This vulnerability affects the function isPathAllowed of the file src/tools/filesystem.ts. The manipulation leads to symlink following. The attack can only be performed from a local environment. The attack's complexity is rated as high. It is stated that the exploitability is difficult. The exploit has been disclosed publicly and may be used. The vendor explains: "Our restriction features are designed as guardrails for LLMs to help them stay closer to what users want, rather than hardened security boundaries. (...) For users where security is a top priority, we continue to recommend using Desktop Commander with Docker, which provides actual isolation. (...) We'll keep this issue open for future consideration if we receive more user demand for improved restrictions." This vulnerability only affects products that are no longer supported by the maintainer. 8 Oct
CVE-2026-99036 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dm: fix reading free memory in do_resume When do_resume calls dm_table_get_mode(new_map), the call is done without holding any locks (it only holds a reference to the md). It may be possible that another concurrent ioctl on the same device will swap table after dm_swap_table and before dm_table_get_mode. In this case, dm_table_get_mode(new_map) reads freed memory. This race condition was triggered by syzbot. This commit fixes the race by reading mode of the new table before dm_swap_table. Note that new_map is also passed to dm_ima_need_measure, but this function doesn't attempt to dereference it, so this call should be safe. Note that this is not a security bug because only root can trigger it and the commonly used tools such as lvm or cryptsetup do not call the ioctls concurrently, so that they can't trigger it acceidentally. CVE-2026-98542 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cgroup/cpuset: Return PERR_NOCPUS in remote_partition_enable() on subpartitions_cpus conflict When a remote partition is created underneath an existing local partition via a non-partition (PRS_MEMBER) intermediate cgroup, update_prstate() sees parent->partition_root_state == PRS_MEMBER and calls remote_partition_enable(). Commit 86888c7bd117 ("cgroup/cpuset: Add warnings to catch inconsistency in exclusive CPUs") replaced the cpumask_intersects(tmp->new_cpus, subpartitions_cpus) error check in remote_partition_enable() with WARN_ON_ONCE(). As a result, remote_partition_enable() emits a warning and proceeds to enable the remote partition on CPUs that are already owned by the ancestor local partition in subpartitions_cpus. This can be reproduced on Linux 7.3.0-rc3 with: mkdir -p /tmp/cg1 mount -t cgroup2 none /tmp/cg1 echo "+cpuset" > /tmp/cg1/cgroup.subtree_control mkdir /tmp/cg1/A echo 1 > /tmp/cg1/A/cpuset.cpus echo 1 > /tmp/cg1/A/cpuset.cpus.exclusive echo root > /tmp/cg1/A/cpuset.cpus.partition echo "+cpuset" > /tmp/cg1/A/cgroup.subtree_control mkdir /tmp/cg1/A/B echo 1 > /tmp/cg1/A/B/cpuset.cpus echo 1 > /tmp/cg1/A/B/cpuset.cpus.exclusive echo "+cpuset" > /tmp/cg1/A/B/cgroup.subtree_control mkdir /tmp/cg1/A/B/D echo 1 > /tmp/cg1/A/B/D/cpuset.cpus echo 1 > /tmp/cg1/A/B/D/cpuset.cpus.exclusive echo root > /tmp/cg1/A/B/D/cpuset.cpus.partition which triggers: WARNING: kernel/cgroup/cpuset.c:1594 at remote_partition_enable+0x1c1/0x300 and leaves both /tmp/cg1/A and /tmp/cg1/A/B/D as active root partitions claiming exclusive CPU 1. Fix this by returning PERR_NOCPUS when tmp->new_cpus intersects subpartitions_cpus in remote_partition_enable(), matching the error code used by remote_cpus_update() for the same subpartitions_cpus conflict, and add a regression test case to tools/testing/selftests/cgroup/test_cpuset_prs.sh. Tested in QEMU on Linux 7.3.0-rc3 using the reproducer above and tools/testing/selftests/cgroup/test_cpuset_prs.sh. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-98273 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: x86/kprobes: Fix crash when probing CS CALL instructions When using eBPF to probe CS CALL instructions within a function, a crash can be triggered. The eBPF tool probes offset 257 of the __hrtimer_run_queues() function: <__hrtimer_run_queues+249>: nopl 0x0(%rax,%rax,1) <__hrtimer_run_queues+254>: mov %r14,%rdi <__hrtimer_run_queues+257>: cs call <__x86_indirect_thunk_r12> <__hrtimer_run_queues+263>: mov %eax,%r12d <__hrtimer_run_queues+266>: xchg %ax,%ax <__hrtimer_run_queues+268>: mov %r13,%rdi Which triggers this crash: BUG: unable to handle page fault for address: 00000000000f41c9 #PF: supervisor write access in kernel mode #PF: error_code(0x0002) - not-present page PGD 0 P4D 0 Oops: 0002 [#1] SMP NOPTI CPU: 1 PID: 0 Comm: swapper/1 Kdump: loaded Tainted: P RIP: 0010:__hrtimer_run_queues+0x106/0x230 Note that __hrtimer_run_queues+0x106 is __hrtimer_run_queues+262, which is at the 6th byte of the above CS CALL instruction. Since the CS CALL instruction occupies 6 bytes, the exception occurred in the middle of that call instruction. The root cause is that when using eBPF tools to probe in the middle of a function, a kprobe with INT3 is used as the underlying implementation. During single-step emulation of the original CALL instruction, int3_emulate_call() assumes that the probed CALL instruction is 5 bytes long. However, the actual CS-prefixed CALL instruction occupies 6 bytes, so it constructs an incorrect exception return address. When the CPU returns from the kprobe handler, the next instruction to be executed is at the address of the last byte of that CS CALL instruction. Coincidentally, starting from that address, the CPU fetches and decodes a completely different instruction, which ultimately triggers a kernel crash. Fix the issue by using the actual instruction length obtained from the instruction decoder when constructing the exception return address, rather than relying on the hardcoded CALL_INSN_SIZE macro. CVE-2026-90063 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: virtio-net: Ensure that TCP packets don't overflow gso_segs The user can specify any gso_size in a packet crafted with an AF_PACKET PACKET_VNET_HDR socket, even smaller than TCP_MIN_GSO_SIZE = 8. At the same time, GSO_MAX_SIZE = 8 * GSO_MAX_SEGS = 8 * 65535. When the user crafts a packet with gso_size < 8, there is a risk for partial GSO to overflow the 16-bit gso_segs field when dividing the SKB length by gso_size. Adjust gso_size of TCP packets to be at least TCP_MIN_GSO_SIZE = 8. Keep gso_size of UDP GSO packets, as gso_size=1 is valid and explicitly tested at tools/testing/selftests/net/tun.c:649. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-89519 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sched_ext: Replace SCX_RQ_BAL_KEEP with a dispatch verdict return SCX_RQ_BAL_KEEP tells the pick to keep running the previous task, a leftover from when balancing and picking were separate operations. An rq-level flag only works while dispatches and picks pair up one to one, which core scheduling breaks: selections interleave through dispatch's lock drops and a pick can consume a stale flag, keeping a task that has since been dequeued. Fixing core scheduling support requires the decision to travel with the dispatch that made it. Make scx_dispatch_sched() and balance_one() return an explicit verdict instead and drop the flag's plumbing from the tools autogen enum headers. Also factor the pick-side invocation, its follow-up queueing and the post-dispatch checks out of do_pick_task_scx() into dispatch_pick(). No functional changes intended. v2: Drop the SCX_RQ_BAL_KEEP plumbing from the tools autogen enum headers as well (Andrea). 19 Oct
