CVE-2026-33882 6.5 medium 0.00% statamic Statamic is a Laravel and Git powered content management system (CMS). Prior to versions 5.73.16 and 6.7.2, the markdown preview endpoint could be manipulated to return augmented data from arbitrary fieldtypes. With the users fieldtype specifically, an authenticated control panel user could retrieve sensitive user data including email addresses, encrypted passkey data, and encrypted two-factor authentication codes. This has been fixed in 5.73.16 and 6.7.2. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-14898 6.5 medium 0.00% no CPE yet The OpenAI Codex desktop app for macOS rendered remote images from Markdown in model responses. An attacker who could place an indirect prompt injection in content processed by Codex, such as a connected-tool result or another untrusted source, could induce the model to construct a remote image URL containing sensitive data. The app automatically fetched that URL when rendering the response, sending the embedded data to an attacker-controlled server without a separate user click. Successful exploitation could exfiltrate secrets and other information accessible in the Codex session, including API keys, source code, and data returned by connected tools. No direct integrity or availability impact was demonstrated, and there is no known exploitation in the wild. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2025-12983 6.5 medium 0.00% gitlab GitLab has remediated an issue in GitLab CE/EE affecting all versions from 16.9 before 18.3.6, 18.4 before 18.4.4, and 18.5 before 18.5.2 that could have allowed an authenticated attacker to cause a denial of service condition by submitting specially crafted markdown content with nested formatting patterns. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-106559 6.5 medium 0.00% linuxfoundation, backstage\/plugin-scaffolder-backend-module-confluence-to-markdown, backstage Backstage is an open framework for building developer portals. Prior to 0.3.25, the @backstage/plugin-scaffolder-backend-module-confluence-to-markdown package is affected by improper input validation in confluence to markdown scaffolder module. Insufficient input validation in the Confluence to Markdown scaffolder module could allow an attacker to influence file write operations during template execution. Exploitation requires a Backstage user to run a template that processes attacker-influenced Confluence content. This issue is fixed in version 0.3.25. 16 Oct
CVE-2026-106560 6.5 medium 0.00% linuxfoundation, backstage\/plugin-scaffolder-backend-module-confluence-to-markdown, backstage Backstage is an open framework for building developer portals. Prior to 0.3.25, the @backstage/plugin-scaffolder-backend-module-confluence-to-markdown package is affected by improper repository path validation in a scaffolder backend module. An authenticated user who can execute an affected template and control its repository file location may cause generated content to be written outside the task workspace, within locations writable by the Backstage backend process. This issue is fixed in version 0.3.25. 16 Oct
CVE-2026-107287 6.5 medium 0.00% pydantic, pydantic_ai Pydantic AI is a Python agent framework for building applications and workflows with Generative AI. From 1.77.0 until 1.107.7 and 2.52.0, the local web_fetch_tool and the WebFetch local fallback can consume excessive CPU and memory during HTML-to-Markdown conversion of attacker-controlled HTML containing deeply nested block elements. Conversion repeatedly reprocesses accumulated text and can greatly expand intermediate output before the returned-content limit is applied, allowing a model-directed fetch to delay other work in the process. Provider-native web fetching is not affected. This issue is fixed in versions 1.107.7 and 2.52.0. 14 Oct
CVE-2026-95112 6.5 medium 0.00% gitea When processing issue and comment bodies, Gitea scanned the entire preceding text for action keywords such as "closes" or "fixes" once per Markdown link, giving processing time quadratic in the input size. An authenticated user able to submit issue or comment content could send a crafted body of about 1 MB that keeps a CPU core busy for several minutes while holding a database transaction open. 13 Oct
CVE-2025-59940 6.5 medium 0.00% no CPE yet mkdocs-include-markdown-plugin is an Mkdocs Markdown includer plugin. In versions 7.1.7 and below, there is a vulnerability where unvalidated input can collide with substitution placeholders. This issue is fixed in version 7.1.8. 9 Oct
CVE-2025-10180 6.4 medium 0.00% no CPE yet The Markdown Shortcode plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's 'markdown' shortcode in all versions up to, and including, 0.2.1 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user supplied attributes. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. 11 Oct
CVE-2026-66921 6.3 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Pivotick’s Markdown node-reference renderer failed to HTML-escape the attacker-controlled nodeName value before interpolating it into both the data-node-name attribute and the body of a generated <span> element. Because the node-reference tokenizer rejected only square brackets, a crafted node name could still contain quotation marks, angle brackets, or other HTML metacharacters. An attacker could therefore terminate the quoted attribute or inject additional HTML elements and event-handler attributes. When malicious node-reference content is rendered by a consumer that does not apply DOMPurify or equivalent sanitization, arbitrary JavaScript may execute in the victim’s browser in the security context of the application. Successful exploitation requires a victim to open or render a crafted graph or note and could allow the attacker to access same-origin information, modify displayed content, or perform actions using the victim’s session. The patch resolves the issue by applying context-appropriate HTML escaping to node names before inserting them into either HTML text or quoted attribute values. The shared escaping function now encodes ampersands, angle brackets, and both types of quotation marks. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2026-112991 6.3 medium 0.00% no CPE yet The html_to_markdown expansion module in MISP Modules contains a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in its is_safe_url() URL validation function. The BLOCKED_RANGES list used to reject unsafe destination addresses was incomplete, omitting several critical IP address ranges. Specifically, the following ranges were not blocked: 0.0.0.0/8 (unspecified, which routes to loopback on Linux), 100.64.0.0/10 (carrier-grade NAT per RFC 6598), ::/128 (IPv6 unspecified), fc00::/7 (IPv6 Unique Local Addresses), and fe80::/10 (IPv6 link-local). The existing list only covered IPv4 loopback (127.0.0.0/8), RFC 1918 private ranges, IPv4 link-local (169.254.0.0/16), and IPv6 loopback (::1/128). An authenticated user with the ability to create or modify MISP attributes that trigger the html_to_markdown expansion module could supply URLs pointing to these unblocked internal address ranges. Because the module fetches the URL server-side to convert HTML content to Markdown, the request is made from the MISP server's network context. This allows an attacker to probe and read responses from internal services, carrier-grade NAT infrastructure, or link-local endpoints that would otherwise be unreachable from external networks. IPv4-mapped IPv6 forms (e.g., [::ffff:0.0.0.0]) also bypassed the existing checks. The security impact is primarily confidentiality: an attacker can read data served by internal services reachable from the MISP server. The MISP instance itself is not compromised, but it is abused as a proxy to access otherwise restricted network resources. 20 Oct
CVE-2025-54384 6.3 medium 0.00% no CPE yet CKAN is an open-source DMS (data management system) for powering data hubs and data portals. Prior to 2.10.9 and 2.11.4, the helpers.markdown_extract() function did not perform sufficient sanitization of input data before wrapping in an HTML literal element. This helper is used to render user-provided data on dataset, resource, organization or group pages (plus any page provided by an extension that used that helper function), leading to a potential XSS vector. This vulnerability has been fixed in CKAN 2.10.9 and 2.11.4. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-59923 6.1 medium 0.00% mistune_project, mistune Mistune is a Python Markdown parser with renderers and plugins. Prior to 3.3.0, HTMLRenderer.safe_url() does not block percent-encoded javascript URIs, allowing attacker-supplied Markdown links or images to bypass URL protections and execute script in rendered HTML. This issue is fixed in version 3.3.0. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2026-59929 6.1 medium 0.00% mistune_project, mistune Mistune is a Python Markdown parser with renderers and plugins. Prior to 3.3.0, the safe_url filter in src/mistune/renderers/html.py blocks only javascript:, vbscript:, file:, and data: schemes, allowing legacy or chained schemes such as feed:, view-source:, jar:, livescript:, mocha:, ms-its:, mk:, and res: to reach rendered href and src attributes and potentially execute script in affected user agents. This issue is fixed in version 3.3.0. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2026-71478 6.1 medium 0.00% no CPE yet league/commonmark is a PHP library for parsing and rendering CommonMark Markdown. From 1.5.0 until 2.9.0, the AttributesExtension's href and src unsafe-link filter can be bypassed by embedding control bytes, such as a tab, carriage return, line feed, or leading C0 control character, in a javascript: URL that browsers discard before parsing the scheme, causing the browser to still execute the script even when the unsafe-link filter is enabled. This issue is fixed in 2.9.0. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2026-111059 6.1 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Mercury is a Python framework for sharing Jupyter notebooks as web applications and dashboards. From 3.0.0 until 3.2.11, mr.Markdown converts attacker-controlled Markdown to HTML without sanitizing raw HTML before assigning it to an ipywidgets.HTML sink. Event-handler attributes and other active HTML can therefore reach the DOM and execute when another user views the application. This issue is fixed in version 3.2.11. 20 Oct
CVE-2026-58173 6.0 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Vibe-Trading before 0.1.10 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows attackers to write files outside the intended memory root directory by supplying a malicious memory_type value containing path traversal sequences through the remember tool. Attackers can manipulate the memory_type parameter in the persistent memory store to cause the application to write arbitrary Markdown files to unintended locations on the filesystem. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2026-59924 5.9 medium 0.00% mistune_project, mistune Mistune is a Python Markdown parser with renderers and plugins. Prior to 3.3.0, Include.parse() joins and normalizes user-supplied include paths without verifying that the result remains within the intended markdown directory, allowing crafted include paths to access files outside that directory when markdown files are processed using md.read(). This issue is fixed in version 3.3.0. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2026-44363 5.8 medium 0.00% no CPE yet MISP modules are autonomous modules that can be used to extend MISP for new services. Prior to 3.0.7, an unsafe remote resource fetching vulnerability existed in MISP Modules expansion modules. The html_to_markdown module accepted arbitrary HTTP(S) URLs without sufficient validation, which could allow Server-Side Request Forgery against loopback, private, or link-local network resources. Additionally, the qrcode module disabled TLS certificate verification when retrieving remote images, exposing requests to potential man-in-the-middle interception or response tampering. The issue was fixed by validating URL schemes, blocking local and private address ranges, resolving hostnames before fetching, enforcing request timeouts, and re-enabling TLS certificate verification. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.0.7. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-54703 5.8 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Markdown Preview Enhanced is a Markdown preview extension for Visual Studio Code. Prior to 0.8.30, the _crossnote.updateMarkdown command in Markdown Preview Enhanced accepts an arbitrary URI and attacker-controlled content, then passes them to vscode.workspace.fs.writeFile without validating that the target is the Markdown file represented by the current preview. JavaScript already executing in the preview webview can invoke this command through the extension message bridge and write any file permitted by the VS Code user's operating-system privileges, including user configuration, startup, source, and build files. This file-write vulnerability requires a separate webview JavaScript execution path, such as the independently tracked head.html injection and blind command-dispatch weaknesses. This issue is fixed in version 0.8.30. 16 Oct
CVE-2026-44696 5.7 medium 0.00% no CPE yet OpenProject is open-source, web-based project management software. Prior to 17.4.0, OpenProject's rich text (markdown) rendering pipeline uses Sanitize::Config::RELAXED[:css] for inline style sanitization. This configuration permits essentially all CSS properties in style attributes on permitted HTML elements (figure, img, table, th, tr, td). This allows any authenticated user with write access to formattable text fields (work package descriptions, comments, project descriptions, news) to inject CSS This vulnerability is fixed in 17.4.0. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2026-57568 5.7 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Lychee is a free, open-source photo-management tool. Prior to 7.6.0, Lychee permits an authenticated user with album-edit permissions to store a javascript URI in an album or photo Markdown description because config/markdown.php enables allow_unsafe_links. app/Http/Resources/Models/Utils/PreformattedPhotoData.php and app/Http/Resources/Models/Utils/PreFormattedAlbumData.php convert the description to HTML, and the gallery components PhotoDetails.vue, Overlay.vue, PhotoThumb.vue, AlbumHero.vue, and AlbumCard.vue render that HTML with v-html. A visitor, including an unauthenticated visitor to a public album, who clicks the rendered link executes attacker-controlled JavaScript in the Lychee origin, which can expose session data or enable authenticated requests in the victim's context. This gallery-view flaw is distinct from CVE-2026-33738, which addressed feed rendering. This issue is fixed in version 7.6.0. 16 Oct
CVE-2026-7702 5.5 medium 0.00% no CPE yet A vulnerability was detected in toeverything AFFiNE up to 0.26.3. This issue affects the function allowDocPreview of the file /workspace/:workspaceId/:docId of the component Public Markdown Preview Endpoint. The manipulation results in authorization bypass. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploit is now public and may be used. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-41318 5.4 medium 0.00% mintplexlabs, anythingllm AnythingLLM is an application that turns pieces of content into context that any LLM can use as references during chatting. Prior to version 1.12.1, AnythingLLM's in-chat markdown renderer has an unsafe custom rule for images that interpolates the markdown image's `alt` text into an HTML `alt="..."` attribute without any HTML encoding. Every call-site in the app wraps `renderMarkdown(...)` with `DOMPurify.sanitize(...)` as defense-in-depth — except the `Chartable` component, which renders chart captions with no sanitization. The chart caption is the natural-language text the LLM emits around a `create-chart` tool call, so any attacker who can influence the LLM's output — most cheaply via indirect prompt injection in a shared workspace document, or directly if they can create a chart record in a multi-user workspace — can trigger stored DOM-level XSS in every other user's browser when they open that conversation. AnythingLLM chat history is loaded server-side via `GET /api/workspace/:slug/chats` and rendered directly into the chat UI. Version 1.12.1 contains a patch for this issue. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-35600 5.4 medium 0.00% vikunja Vikunja is an open-source self-hosted task management platform. Prior to 2.3.0, task titles are embedded directly into Markdown link syntax in overdue email notifications without escaping Markdown special characters. When rendered by goldmark and sanitized by bluemonday (which allows <a> and <img> tags), injected Markdown constructs produce phishing links and tracking pixels in legitimate notification emails. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.3.0. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-41063 5.4 medium 0.00% wwbn, avideo WWBN AVideo is an open source video platform. In versions 29.0 and below, an incomplete XSS fix in AVideo's `ParsedownSafeWithLinks` class overrides `inlineMarkup` for raw HTML but does not override `inlineLink()` or `inlineUrlTag()`, allowing `javascript:` URLs in markdown link syntax to bypass sanitization. Commit cae8f0dadbdd962c89b91d0095c76edb8aadcacf contains an updated fix. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-95629 5.4 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') vulnerability in Apache Camel Docling component. This issue affects Apache Camel: from 4.15.0 before 4.18.5, from 4.19.0 before 4.22.2. DoclingProducer runs the external docling tool in CLI mode, the default, and tells it where to write the converted document through the --output flag. When the CamelDoclingOutputFilePath header was set, addOutputDirectoryArguments handed its value to that flag verbatim: the value was not normalized, an absolute path or a path containing .. segments was accepted as given, and no endpoint option could confine it to a directory. The custom-argument validation added by the fix for CVE-2026-40047 refuses the --output and -o flags in the CamelDoclingCustomArguments header and tells callers to choose the output directory with this header instead, so the one value that decides where docling writes reached the command line without any of the checks applied to custom arguments. Docling writes the conversion result, as Markdown, HTML, JSON or text, into that directory, naming the file after the input file, and the producer afterwards removes only its own temporary directory, so the file is left in place. A party able to set the header could therefore have conversion output created in any directory the Camel process can write to. The content of such a file is the conversion of the document carried by the message, so it is shaped by whoever supplies that document without being written byte for byte, and when the document content arrives in the message body the producer stores it under a random temporary name, which the output file then carries. The header belongs to the Camel header namespace, which consumers applying Camel's default header filtering, such as the JMS and Kafka consumers, remove from incoming messages, so the issue is reached where a route forwards externally influenced values into the header or where a consumer maps incoming headers without that filtering. The docling-serve mode does not use the header. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 4.23.0, which fixes the issue. If users are on the 4.22.x releases stream, then they are suggested to upgrade to 4.22.2. If users are on the 4.18.x releases stream, then they are suggested to upgrade to 4.18.5. The fix adds an outputBaseDirectory endpoint option that is unset by default, so after upgrading, set it on every docling endpoint whose CamelDoclingOutputFilePath header can carry a value influenced from outside the deployment; without it the header is normalized but can still name any directory. The 4.15.x to 4.17.x and 4.19.x to 4.21.x release lines reached end of life before this issue was resolved and will not receive a fix, so deployments on them must move to a supported release. For deployments that cannot upgrade immediately, do not build the CamelDoclingOutputFilePath header from values that originate outside the deployment, remove that header from messages that arrive from outside before they reach a docling endpoint, and make sure that consumers which map incoming message headers drop the Camel header namespace, so that only the route itself chooses the output directory. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-54025 5.4 medium 0.00% librechat LibreChat is an enhanced ChatGPT clone that supports multiple AI providers. Prior to 0.8.4-rc1, there is a vulnerability in LibreChat's markdown artifact preview pipeline. The marked library v15.0.12 does not HTML-escape double-quote characters in image alt text when a custom renderer falls through to the default renderer. LibreChat's generateMarkdownHtml function (in client/src/utils/markdown.ts) installs a custom image renderer that returns false for URLs passing the isSafeUrl allowlist check, which causes marked to fall back to its built-in renderer. That built-in renderer inserts the raw alt text into the alt="..." attribute without escaping double-quote characters. An attacker can craft an alt text such as " onload="payload to break out of the attribute and inject an arbitrary event handler. The resulting HTML is then assigned to document.getElementById('content').innerHTML inside the Sandpack preview iframe, causing the payload to execute in the victim's browser. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.8.4-rc1. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2026-35046 5.4 medium 0.00% tandoor, recipes Tandoor Recipes is an application for managing recipes, planning meals, and building shopping lists. Prior to 2.6.4, Tandoor Recipes allows authenticated users to inject arbitrary <style> tags into recipe step instructions. The bleach.clean() sanitizer explicitly whitelists the <style> tag, causing the backend to persist and serve unsanitized CSS payloads via the API. Any client consuming instructions_markdown from the API and rendering it as HTML without additional sanitization will execute attacker-controlled CSS — enabling UI redressing, phishing overlays, visual defacement, and CSS-based data exfiltration. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.6.4. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2025-65959 5.4 medium 0.00% openwebui, open_webui Open WebUI is a self-hosted artificial intelligence platform designed to operate entirely offline. Prior to 0.6.37, a Stored XSS vulnerability was discovered in Open-WebUI's Notes PDF download functionality. An attacker can import a Markdown file containing malicious SVG tags into Notes, allowing them to execute arbitrary JavaScript code and steal session tokens when a victim downloads the note as PDF. This vulnerability can be exploited by any authenticated user, and unauthenticated external attackers can steal session tokens from users (both admin and regular users) by sharing specially crafted markdown files. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.6.37. 18 Oct
CVE-2026-56696 5.3 medium 0.00% no CPE yet OpenHarness /issue and /pr_comments slash commands lack remote_invocable=False protection, allowing remote channel senders to write attacker-controlled Markdown into project context files. Admitted remote attackers can inject malicious content into .openharness/issue.md and .openharness/pr_comments.md files, which are subsequently injected into runtime system prompts, persistently influencing local agent behavior. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2026-59711 5.3 medium 0.00% no CPE yet showdown contains a cross-site scripting vulnerability in metadata title handling that allows attackers to inject arbitrary HTML and JavaScript. When completeHTMLDocument option is enabled, unescaped less-than and greater-than characters in markdown frontmatter metadata are inserted directly into HTML title tags, enabling attackers to break out of the title context and execute malicious scripts in the rendered page. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2026-59926 5.3 medium 0.00% mistune_project, mistune Mistune is a Python Markdown parser with renderers and plugins. Prior to 3.2.1, render_admonition() in src/mistune/directives/admonition.py concatenates the Admonition directive :class: option into the HTML class attribute without escaping, allowing attribute injection and cross-site scripting even when HTMLRenderer escape mode is enabled. This issue is fixed in version 3.2.1. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2026-69116 5.3 medium 0.00% no CPE yet FlyEnv before 4.18.0 fails to sanitize HTML from markdown rendering and AI chat content passed to Vue v-html directives. Attackers can inject malicious scripts through markdown sources or chat messages that execute in the Electron renderer process with access to Node.js APIs and the filesystem. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2026-61632 5.3 medium 0.00% no CPE yet PyMdown Extensions is a set of extensions for the Python-Markdown markdown project. In versions up to and including 10.21.3, the b64 extension is vulnerable to a path traversal that discloses arbitrary files: it inlines images referenced by <img src="..."> by joining the src onto the configured base_path with os.path.normpath and opening the result directly, without verifying that the resolved path stays inside base_path. As a result, an src containing ../ sequences or an absolute path reads a file outside base_path as long as it has an allowed image extension (.png, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .svg), and the file's contents are then base64-encoded into the rendered output, disclosing them. An application that renders untrusted Markdown with pymdownx.b64 enabled can therefore leak the contents of image-extension files readable by the process to whoever controls the Markdown or views the output, a targeted file-read bounded by the extension check. This issue has been fixed in version 11.0. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2026-73140 5.3 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Affected versions of cti-transmute fail to apply comment-level access-control rules when generating evaluation report exports. Although normal comment retrieval filters comments according to conversion visibility, comment privacy, ownership, authorship, and administrative privileges, build_evaluation_report() previously included all evaluation comments without applying those rules. Consequently, a user who was authorized to view a conversion could export its evaluation report as Markdown or PDF and obtain private evaluation comments that should only have been visible to the conversion owner, the comment author, or an administrator. The leaked report data also contained the comment author's name. The fix passes the requesting user into the report builder and filters every evaluation comment using the shared access.can_see_comment() authorization function. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2026-35166 5.3 medium 0.00% gohugo, hugo Hugo is a static site generator. From 0.60.0 to before 0.159.2, links and image links in the default markdown to HTML renderer are not properly escaped. Hugo users who trust their Markdown content or have custom render hooks for links and images are not affected. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.159.2. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2026-32994 5.3 medium 0.00% no CPE yet The /api/v1/autotranslate.translateMessage endpoint in versions <8.5.0, <8.4.2, <8.3.4, <8.2.4, <8.1.5, <8.0.6, <7.13.8, and <7.10.12 allows any authenticated user to retrieve the full content of any message from any room (private groups, direct messages, channels) by simply providing the target message ID. The endpoint fetches the message via Messages.findOneById(messageId) with no room access check (canAccessRoomIdAsync is never called), returning the complete IMessage object including message text, sender info, room ID, timestamps, and markdown content. Fri 23 Oct
CVE-2026-115351 5.3 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Mistune from 3.2.1 before 3.3.0 contains a CSS injection vulnerability that allows attackers controlling markdown input to inject arbitrary style declarations via the unvalidated figwidth option of the figure directive. Attackers can append declarations like background:url() to the rendered figure style attribute, forcing victim browsers to send requests to attacker servers and leak attribute values. 22 Oct
CVE-2026-77088 5.3 medium 0.00% no CPE yet justhtml versions 0.9.0 through 1.21.0 contain a cross-site scripting vulnerability in to_markdown() where inline code spans fail to account for blank lines as block boundaries. Attackers can inject blank lines into code or pre element text to break the inline span, causing sanitized HTML to be emitted unescaped and re-parsed as live Markdown by compliant renderers. 12 Oct
CVE-2026-105829 5.3 medium 0.00% no CPE yet League CommonMark from 1.3.0 before 2.10.2 contains a cross-site scripting vulnerability that allows users posting Markdown to bypass the DisallowedRawHtml extension by ending raw HTML with a bare disallowed tag name. Attackers can place a lone <script or <iframe line followed by a block supplying attributes like src or onload, executing stored scripts in viewers' browsers under default GFM settings. 10 Oct
CVE-2026-39426 5.1 medium 0.00% maxkb MaxKB is an open-source AI assistant for enterprise. Versions 2.7.1 and below contain a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability where the frontend's MdRenderer.vue component parses custom <iframe_render> tags from LLM responses or Application Prologue configurations, bypassing standard Markdown sanitization and XSS filtering. The unsanitized HTML content is passed to the IframeRender.vue component, which renders it directly into an <iframe> via the srcdoc attribute configured with sandbox="allow-scripts allow-same-origin". This can be a dangerous combination, allowing injected scripts to escape the iframe and execute JavaScript in the parent window using window.parent. Since the Prologue is rendered for any user visiting an application's chat interface, this results in a high-impact Stored XSS that can lead to session hijacking, unauthorized actions, and sensitive data exposure. This issue has been fixed in version 2.8.0. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-54889 5.1 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation (XSS) vulnerability in leandrocp mdex allows cross-site scripting via unsanitized URL schemes in Quill Delta output. 'Elixir.MDEx':to_delta/2 converts Markdown into a Quill Delta. 'Elixir.MDEx.DeltaConverter':default_convert_node/3 in lib/mdex/delta_converter.ex copies the URL of a link, wikilink, or image node directly from the parsed Markdown into the Delta "link" or "image" attribute without applying a scheme allowlist or any normalization. An attacker who controls the Markdown text can supply a javascript: URL (for example [click](javascript:alert(document.cookie))) that survives verbatim into the Delta attribute. When the Delta is rendered to HTML by a downstream renderer (such as quill-delta-to-html or the Quill client), the attribute becomes an <a href> or <img src>, and the javascript: scheme executes in the browser of anyone who views the rendered content. The link and wikilink cases are the strongest vectors because javascript: in an href executes on click; the image case is lower impact because javascript: in <img src> generally does not execute in modern browsers. This issue affects mdex: from 0.8.3 before 0.13.2. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2026-58402 5.1 medium 0.00% gohugo, hugo Hugo is a static site generator. From 0.60.0 until 0.163.3, Hugo's default code-block renderer wrote the Markdown code-fence language or info-string into the code class="language-…" data-lang="…" wrapper without HTML escaping. A fence info-string containing a quote and a script payload breaks out of the attribute and injects a live script element. This issue is fixed in 0.163.3. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2026-109597 5.1 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Hugo from v0.60.0 before v0.167.0 contains a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability that allows Markdown content authors to inject HTML by supplying crafted explicit heading IDs. Attackers can break out of the unescaped href attribute in .TableOfContents or .Fragments.ToHTML output to inject elements with event handlers into rendered pages. 16 Oct
CVE-2026-109300 5.1 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Open WebUI from 0.6.31 before 0.11.4 contains a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in its Markdown renderer, which treats user-authored tool-call details blocks as tool output and mounts their embeds attribute in script-enabled iframes. Authenticated users can post crafted channel messages, chat messages, or citation content that runs JavaScript in viewers' browsers, enabling in-app phishing, or session hijacking where iframeSandboxAllowSameOrigin is enabled. 15 Oct
CVE-2026-5389 5.1 medium 0.00% no CPE yet justhtml versions before 1.13.0 contain a cross-site scripting vulnerability in the to_markdown() function when serializing attacker-controlled pre content. Attackers can place backticks inside sanitized pre elements to break out of fixed-length code fences, allowing raw HTML to execute when the generated Markdown is rendered by CommonMark or GFM-style renderers. 12 Oct
CVE-2026-43979 5.0 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Local Deep Research is an AI-powered research assistant for deep, iterative research. Prior to 1.6.0, PDFService._markdown_to_html() constructs an HTML document by interpolating user-controlled values — specifically title (sourced from research.title or research.query) and metadata key-value pairs — directly into an f-string without any HTML escaping. An authenticated attacker can craft a research query containing HTML special characters to inject arbitrary HTML tags into the document processed by WeasyPrint during PDF export. This injection can be chained to trigger a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF), bypassing the application's existing SSRF defenses in ssrf_validator.py. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.6.0. CVE-2026-48591 4.8 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Improper Neutralization of Script in Attributes in a Web Page vulnerability in pragdave earmark allows stored cross-site scripting via unescaped HTML attribute values. 'Elixir.Earmark.Transform':_make_att1/2 in lib/earmark/transform.ex splices attribute values verbatim between two literal " bytes: [" ", name, "=\"", value, "\""]. Text nodes are routed through the existing escape function which encodes " as &quot;, but attribute values never visit that path. A markdown link whose URL or title contains a bare " closes the attribute early and lets the trailing bytes be parsed by the browser as fresh HTML attributes. For example, [click](http://example.com/?a=x" onerror="alert(1)) renders as <a href="http://example.com/?a=x" onerror="alert(1)">click</a>, executing arbitrary JavaScript in the victim's browser. The earmark library is no longer maintained and has been retired on Hex. No patched version will be released. All releases from 1.4.1 onward are affected, and users should migrate to a maintained Markdown library such as MDEx. This issue affects earmark from 1.4.1 onward. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2026-8661 4.8 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Server-Side Request Forgery in the markdown_to_pdf action of Rapid7 InsightConnect Markdown Plugin on Linux in versions prior to 4.0.2 allows remote attackers to make arbitrary outbound HTTP requests via unsanitized resource-loading HTML elements (img/src, CSS url(), @import) embedded in Markdown input. The initial fix in 4.0.0 disabled JavaScript but did not neutralize resource-loading vectors. Resolved in 4.0.2 by sanitizing HTML with an allowlist of tags, attributes, and URL schemes. Sun 25 Oct
