CVE-2026-52928 5.5 medium 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: af_unix: Reject SIOCATMARK on non-stream sockets SIOCATMARK reports whether the receive queue is at the urgent mark for MSG_OOB. In AF_UNIX, MSG_OOB is supported only for SOCK_STREAM sockets. SOCK_DGRAM and SOCK_SEQPACKET reject MSG_OOB in sendmsg() and recvmsg(), so they should not support SIOCATMARK either. Return -EOPNOTSUPP for non-stream sockets before checking the receive queue. 15 Oct
CVE-2026-61801 5.5 medium 0.00% no CPE yet The `github.com/moby/sys/user` package provides Go utilities for parsing and looking up entries in Unix-style user and group database files. Versions before 0.4.1 do not sufficiently limit entries when parsing `/etc/passwd`- or `/etc/group`-style files, allowing an attacker who can supply a specially crafted file to cause excessive memory consumption and potentially terminate the affected process due to an out-of-memory condition. This issue is patched in version 0.4.1. As a workaround, avoid parsing attacker-controlled user or group database files, or validate and limit untrusted input before parsing it. 8 Oct
CVE-2026-41079 5.4 medium 0.00% openprinting, cups OpenPrinting CUPS is an open source printing system for Linux and other Unix-like operating systems. Prior to 2.4.17, a network-adjacent attacker can send a crafted SNMP response to the CUPS SNMP backend that causes an out-of-bounds read of up to 176 bytes past a stack buffer. The leaked memory is converted from UTF-16 to UTF-8 and stored as printer supply description strings, which are subsequently visible to authenticated users via IPP Get-Printer-Attributes responses and the CUPS web interface. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.4.17. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-91455 5.4 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Vulnerability in the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools product of Oracle JD Edwards (component: E1 Dev Platform Tech - UNIX). Supported versions that are affected are 9.2.0.0-9.2.26.5. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools. Successful attacks require human interaction from a person other than the attacker. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized update, insert or delete access to some of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools accessible data as well as unauthorized read access to a subset of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools accessible data. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 5.4 (Confidentiality and Integrity impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N). Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2026-61702 5.3 medium 0.00% openprinting, cups OpenPrinting CUPS is an open source printing system for Linux and other Unix-like operating systems. Prior to 2.4.20, copy_banner() in scheduler/ipp.c uses the attacker-controlled IPP attributes-natural-language value as a directory component beneath DataDir/banners when processing a job-sheets banner. The job-sheets value must first match a registered banner basename, and the traversed path must contain a matching reachable basename; selecting an arbitrary target as demonstrated additionally requires pre-positioned path state such as a symlink with that basename. Subject to the scheduler's filesystem and sandbox access, path separators in the language value can escape the intended banner directory, make the root scheduler open the reachable file, and copy its bytes into a job-sheet spool object that a configured backend can deliver to an attacker-observable endpoint. This issue is fixed in version 2.4.20. Wed 28 Oct
CVE-2026-18673 5.3 medium 0.00% no CPE yet When kuma-dp is configured with the Envoy admin API on a Unix domain socket, which is the default, its readiness service on TCP port 9902 - bound to all interfaces - forwards almost the entire Envoy admin API to any caller that can reach the port, with no authentication. An attacker with network access to a data plane's port 9902, for example another pod on the cluster network, can read Envoy and data plane configuration without credentials: config dumps, cluster and listener lists, stats, and the mesh trust bundle. Exposure is read-only - destructive Envoy admin actions are blocked and private keys are not exposed. Fri 23 Oct
CVE-2026-41541 5.3 medium 0.00% no CPE yet An unix symbolic link (symlink) following vulnerability has been reported to affect Qsync Central. If a remote attacker gains a user account, they can then exploit the vulnerability to compromise the security of the system. We have already fixed the vulnerability in the following version: Qsync Central 5.0.0.7 and later Qsync Central 5.1.0.3 and later Qsync Central 5.2.0.5 and later Qsync Central 5.3.0.2 and later 15 Oct
CVE-2026-109940 5.1 medium 0.00% freerdp FreeRDP 3.0.0-beta1 before 3.32.0 on Unix builds with PKCS#11 support has a stack-based buffer overflow in wprintKeyName() in WinPR's NCrypt PKCS#11 provider. It hex-encodes a key's CKA_ID, which can be up to 64 bytes, into a fixed 128-byte stack buffer. An attacker supplying a malicious PKCS#11 token or module whose key and matching certificate use a 55- to 64-byte CKA_ID can overflow the client's stack during key enumeration, causing a crash. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-111926 4.8 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Coder from 2.10.0 before 2.34.8 has an unauthenticated agent debug HTTP server on 127.0.0.1:2113 whose /debug/manifest handler returns the full agent manifest, including template-provided environment variable values. A lower-privileged Unix user or process in the same workspace can query this endpoint to read credentials such as cloud keys or registry tokens. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-109969 4.7 medium 0.00% no CPE yet A flaw was found in the clevis PKCS#11 pin. The clevis-pkcs11-afunix-socket-unlock daemon creates AF_UNIX sockets without explicit permission restrictions or peer credential verification. Under a permissive process umask, any local user can connect to the control socket and inject arbitrary device/key pairs, or connect to the data socket to receive LUKS passphrases. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-109976 4.7 medium 0.00% no CPE yet A flaw was found in the clevis PKCS#11 pin. The clevis-pkcs11-afunix-socket-unlock daemon crashes when an AF_UNIX client connects to the data socket without a bound address, due to an integer underflow in the getpeername result handling. This causes a denial of service, preventing LUKS disk decryption from completing during boot. 15 Oct
CVE-2026-23302 4.7 medium 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: annotate data-races around sk->sk_{data_ready,write_space} skmsg (and probably other layers) are changing these pointers while other cpus might read them concurrently. Add corresponding READ_ONCE()/WRITE_ONCE() annotations for UDP, TCP and AF_UNIX. 15 Oct
CVE-2024-38596 4.7 medium 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: af_unix: Fix data races in unix_release_sock/unix_stream_sendmsg A data-race condition has been identified in af_unix. In one data path, the write function unix_release_sock() atomically writes to sk->sk_shutdown using WRITE_ONCE. However, on the reader side, unix_stream_sendmsg() does not read it atomically. Consequently, this issue is causing the following KCSAN splat to occur: BUG: KCSAN: data-race in unix_release_sock / unix_stream_sendmsg write (marked) to 0xffff88867256ddbb of 1 bytes by task 7270 on cpu 28: unix_release_sock (net/unix/af_unix.c:640) unix_release (net/unix/af_unix.c:1050) sock_close (net/socket.c:659 net/socket.c:1421) __fput (fs/file_table.c:422) __fput_sync (fs/file_table.c:508) __se_sys_close (fs/open.c:1559 fs/open.c:1541) __x64_sys_close (fs/open.c:1541) x64_sys_call (arch/x86/entry/syscall_64.c:33) do_syscall_64 (arch/x86/entry/common.c:?) entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe (arch/x86/entry/entry_64.S:130) read to 0xffff88867256ddbb of 1 bytes by task 989 on cpu 14: unix_stream_sendmsg (net/unix/af_unix.c:2273) __sock_sendmsg (net/socket.c:730 net/socket.c:745) ____sys_sendmsg (net/socket.c:2584) __sys_sendmmsg (net/socket.c:2638 net/socket.c:2724) __x64_sys_sendmmsg (net/socket.c:2753 net/socket.c:2750 net/socket.c:2750) x64_sys_call (arch/x86/entry/syscall_64.c:33) do_syscall_64 (arch/x86/entry/common.c:?) entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe (arch/x86/entry/entry_64.S:130) value changed: 0x01 -> 0x03 The line numbers are related to commit dd5a440a31fa ("Linux 6.9-rc7"). Commit e1d09c2c2f57 ("af_unix: Fix data races around sk->sk_shutdown.") addressed a comparable issue in the past regarding sk->sk_shutdown. However, it overlooked resolving this particular data path. This patch only offending unix_stream_sendmsg() function, since the other reads seem to be protected by unix_state_lock() as discussed in 15 Oct
CVE-2024-26923 4.7 medium 0.00% linux, debian, linux_kernel, debian_linux In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: af_unix: Fix garbage collector racing against connect() Garbage collector does not take into account the risk of embryo getting enqueued during the garbage collection. If such embryo has a peer that carries SCM_RIGHTS, two consecutive passes of scan_children() may see a different set of children. Leading to an incorrectly elevated inflight count, and then a dangling pointer within the gc_inflight_list. sockets are AF_UNIX/SOCK_STREAM S is an unconnected socket L is a listening in-flight socket bound to addr, not in fdtable V's fd will be passed via sendmsg(), gets inflight count bumped connect(S, addr) sendmsg(S, [V]); close(V) __unix_gc() ---------------- ------------------------- ----------- NS = unix_create1() skb1 = sock_wmalloc(NS) L = unix_find_other(addr) unix_state_lock(L) unix_peer(S) = NS // V count=1 inflight=0 NS = unix_peer(S) skb2 = sock_alloc() skb_queue_tail(NS, skb2[V]) // V became in-flight // V count=2 inflight=1 close(V) // V count=1 inflight=1 // GC candidate condition met for u in gc_inflight_list: if (total_refs == inflight_refs) add u to gc_candidates // gc_candidates={L, V} for u in gc_candidates: scan_children(u, dec_inflight) // embryo (skb1) was not // reachable from L yet, so V's // inflight remains unchanged __skb_queue_tail(L, skb1) unix_state_unlock(L) for u in gc_candidates: if (u.inflight) scan_children(u, inc_inflight_move_tail) // V count=1 inflight=2 (!) If there is a GC-candidate listening socket, lock/unlock its state. This makes GC wait until the end of any ongoing connect() to that socket. After flipping the lock, a possibly SCM-laden embryo is already enqueued. And if there is another embryo coming, it can not possibly carry SCM_RIGHTS. At this point, unix_inflight() can not happen because unix_gc_lock is already taken. Inflight graph remains unaffected. 15 Oct
CVE-2025-62724 4.3 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Open OnDemand is an open-source HPC portal. Prior to versions 4.0.8 and 3.1.16, users can craft a "Time of Check to Time of Use" (TOCTOU) attack when downloading zip files to access files outside of the OOD_ALLOWLIST. This vulnerability impacts sites that use the file browser allowlists in all current versions of OOD. However, files accessed are still protected by the UNIX permissions. Open OnDemand versions 4.0.8 and 3.1.16 have been patched for this vulnerability. 18 Oct
CVE-2026-87330 4.2 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Vulnerability in the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools product of Oracle JD Edwards (component: E1 Dev Platform Tech - UNIX). CVE-2026-109243 4.1 medium 0.00% no CPE yet FreeRDP from 3.0.0 before 3.32.0 contains an incorrect permission assignment vulnerability that allows local users to read private keys written by crypto_write_pem without owner-only permissions. Attackers on multi-user Unix hosts can enumerate the shared temporary directory during soft-smartcard logon to read the world-readable PKINIT private-key copy. 13 Oct
CVE-2026-35362 3.6 low 0.00% uutils, coreutils The safe_traversal module in uutils coreutils, which provides protection against Time-of-Check to Time-of-Use (TOCTOU) symlink races using file-descriptor-relative syscalls, is incorrectly limited to Linux targets. On other Unix-like systems such as macOS and FreeBSD, the utility fails to utilize these protections, leaving directory traversal operations vulnerable to symlink race conditions. Mon 26 Oct

CVE-2026-48936 3.3 low 0.00% nodejs, node.js A flaw in Node.js Permission API can cause a local server to be started (via a Unix domain socket), even without the `--allow-net` permission. This vulnerability affects one supported release line: **Node.js 26**. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2026-18096 3.3 low 0.00% ibm, db2 IBM Db2 12.1.5 for Linux, UNIX and Windows (includes DB2 Connect Server) could allow a local attacker to cause a denial of service due to a memory leak. Fri 23 Oct
CVE-2026-55453 3.3 low 0.00% openprinting, cups OpenPrinting CUPS is an open source printing system for Linux and other Unix-like operating systems. Prior to 2.4.20, the backend/ipp.c quote_string() function preserves carriage-return and line-feed characters in a remote printer-controlled marker-message before report_attr() writes the value to the scheduler status stream. The scheduler can parse an injected newline as a separate PPD: control line and persist an attacker-selected PPD keyword. The reporter demonstrated that a later print job on a Foomatic-backed queue could consume an injected FoomaticRIPCommandLine value and execute in the filter context as lp. This issue is fixed in version 2.4.20. 20 Oct
CVE-2026-14966 3.1 low 0.00% blacklanternsecurity, bbot BBOT's unarchive module rejects archives containing symlink entries before extraction, but for zip and 7z archives it failed to detect symlinks whose listing carries a DOS-attribute prefix before the unix mode, as produced by legacy versions of p7zip. Such an archive, downloaded and extracted during a scan (for example via filedownload), bypassed the guard and caused an attacker-controlled symlink to be written into the extraction directory. The effect is limited to planting the symlink (its target is not written through), and only hosts using such a legacy p7zip build are affected; current mainline 7-Zip is not. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2026-64846 2.8 low 0.00% no CPE yet Nix is a package manager for Linux and other Unix systems. Prior to 2.35.0, a malicious derivation executed with the recursive-nix experimental feature can exploit a time-of-check/time-of-use race involving final symlink handling in the LocalStore restore path. The race can cause writeFile to follow a substituted final symlink when opening a path with O_TRUNC instead of enforcing FinalSymlink::DontFollow, allowing the Nix process or nix-daemon to create or truncate an empty file outside the build sandbox with the daemon user's permissions. The primitive does not provide arbitrary-content writes and requires winning the race. This issue is fixed in version 2.35.0. 18 Oct
CVE-2026-55467 2.5 low 0.00% openprinting, cups OpenPrinting CUPS is an open source printing system for Linux and other Unix-like operating systems. Prior to 2.4.20, the cupsdCreateJob option-string builder in scheduler/job.c maps attacker-controlled destination-uri and pre-dial-string values from a configured fax queue to the phone and faxPrefix options. Unlike ordinary IPP job attributes, these mapped fax values bypass the control-character sanitizer and are copied directly into the filter options argument. A user permitted to submit a job can therefore inject control characters into the downstream option stream. The reporter states that a downstream fax filter passing these values to a shell or modem command could execute code as lp, while the maintainer states that CUPS has no confidentiality or integrity impact because the only known code-executing filter is optional Foomatic and addressed separately, leaving possible disruption of the affected queue. This issue is fixed in version 2.4.20. 20 Oct
CVE-2025-14575 1.8 low 0.00% no CPE yet An Uncontrolled Search Path Element vulnerability in the OpenSSL TLS backend of Qt Network (qtbase) in Qt Qt Framework (Unix) allows a local attacker to load a rogue CA certificate as a trusted system authority via a crafted certificate file placed in the application's working directory. 14 Oct
CVE-2026-80353 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet Time-of-check time-of-use (TOCTOU) race condition vulnerability in Apache Tomcat when creating unix domain sockets for the APR/Native connector allows an unauthorised local user to access the unix domain socket. The fix for CVE-2026-65183 only addressed the NIO connector. It did not address the same issue in the APR/Native connector. This issue affects Apache Tomcat: from 9.0.47 through 9.0.122. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 9.0.123, which fixes the issue. 12 h ago

CVE-2026-97985 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: af_unix: Update last skb marker in manage_oob(). Fahad Alharbi reported that blocking recv(MSG_PEEK) could hog CPU due to OOB skb. In the following cases, manage_oob() skips OOB skb(s) and returns NULL for the last recv(MSG_PEEK): socketpair(AF_UNIX, SOCK_STREAM, 0, sk); 1) skb -> OOB skb -> NULL send(sk[0], "ab", 2, MSG_OOB); recv(sk[1], buf, 0, MSG_PEEK); 2) skb -> consumed OOB skb -> NULL send(sk[0], "ab", 2, MSG_OOB); recv(sk[1], buf, 1, MSG_OOB); recv(sk[1], buf, 0, MSG_PEEK); 3) consumed OOB skb -> OOB skb -> NULL send(sk[0], "a", 1, MSG_OOB); recv(sk[1], buf, 0, MSG_OOB); send(sk[0], "b", 1, MSG_OOB); recv(sk[1], buf, 1, MSG_PEEK); Then, @copied is 0 in unix_stream_read_generic() (zero-length buffer, or non-OOB skb is not yet consumed), and unix_stream_data_wait() is called. However, it returns immediately because @last is not updated in unix_stream_read_generic(), and the thread busy-waits for a new skb. Let's update @last in manage_oob(). For MSG_PEEK, @last is updated with the skipped OOB, and for the non-peek case, @last matches the returned value (when !copied) because OOB is unlinked. Note that manage_oob() is inlined and no stack canary is added. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-97561 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: honor forceuid/forcegid when mapping SIDs to uid/gid When the administrator mounts with forceuid or forcegid (uid=/gid= mount options), they expect all files to appear owned by the specified user/group. However, several code paths unconditionally called sid_to_id() to overwrite cf_uid/cf_gid with server-provided values, ignoring the administrator's explicit override: - smb311_posix_info_to_fattr() (stat via POSIX extensions) - cifs_posix_to_fattr() (readdir via POSIX extensions) - parse_sec_desc() (CIFS ACL ownership mapping) This allowed an untrusted server to dictate local file ownership even when the mount was configured to force specific uid/gid values. Fix all three call sites to check CIFS_MOUNT_OVERR_UID and CIFS_MOUNT_OVERR_GID before calling sid_to_id(), following the same pattern already used by cifs_unix_basic_to_fattr() for unix extensions. 21 Oct
CVE-2025-40080 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nbd: restrict sockets to TCP and UDP Recently, syzbot started to abuse NBD with all kinds of sockets. Commit cf1b2326b734 ("nbd: verify socket is supported during setup") made sure the socket supported a shutdown() method. Explicitely accept TCP and UNIX stream sockets. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-98394 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: af_unix: Return immediately when manage_oob() returns NULL for 0-length buffer. Fahad Alharbi reported that recv(0, MSG_PEEK) triggers busy-wait in unix_stream_read_generic() if recv() is blocking and the last skb in the queue is MSG_OOB skb. In such a situation, TCP returns 0 immediately regardless of blocking or non-blocking. Let's follow the behaviour. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-98289 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: af_unix: Unify scc_index when finalising SCC in __unix_walk_scc(). Commit bfdb01283ee8 ("af_unix: Assign a unique index to SCC.") changed Tarjan's algorithm to update lowlink with lowlink, which is called lowpoint (unix_vertex.scc_index). unix_vertex_dead() assumes all vertices in an SCC share the same lowpoint, but this is not always true if an SCC has two or more back edges, depending on the order of DFS. For example, the graph below has two back edges from B to A and from C to B. A --> B --> C ^ | ^ | `----' `----' If DFS walks through A -> B -> C -> B (-> C -> B) -> A (-> B -> A), each index and scc_index will be updated as follows. A --> B --> C C = (3, 3) (index, scc_index) B = (2, 2) A = (1, 1) A ... B ... C C = (3, 2)<-. ^ | B = (2, 2) -' `----' A = (1, 1) A ... B ... C C = (3, 2) ^ | . . B = (2, 1)<-. `----' .... A = (1, 1) -' Then, unix_vertex_dead() thinks that B is passed to another SCC with scc_index 2, and the SCC is not garbage-collected. This does not happen if DFS walks in a different order below or starts from B. 1 3 A --> B --> C ^ | ^ | `----' `----' 2 4 Let's unify scc_index across the SCC when finalising it. Note that updating v->index was previously done in unix_scc_dead(), when called from __unix_walk_scc(), just to save one loop. Since __unix_walk_scc() now iterates over the SCC anyway, the update is moved back to __unix_walk_scc() and 'fast' argument is dropped. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-90159 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Disallow bpf_{g,s}etsockopt() in cgroup UNIX getname hooks _bpf_setsockopt() and _bpf_getsockopt() call sock_owned_by_me() for full sockets, so these helpers expect the socket lock to be held. BPF_CGROUP_UNIX_GETPEERNAME and BPF_CGROUP_UNIX_GETSOCKNAME run BPF programs without acquiring the socket lock. A program attached to either hook can therefore trigger the sock_owned_by_me() warning by calling bpf_setsockopt() or bpf_getsockopt(). Disallow bpf_setsockopt() and bpf_getsockopt() for CGROUP_UNIX_GETPEERNAME and CGROUP_UNIX_GETSOCKNAME. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-74618 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: binfmt_misc: don't warn when the mount is completed from another user namespace fsopen() records the caller's user namespace in fc->user_ns and hands back an ordinary file descriptor. Nothing ties the task that calls fsconfig(FSCONFIG_CMD_CREATE) to the task that created the context. The fd is inherited across fork() and exec() and it can be passed over a unix socket. Completing a context from another user namespace is allowed on purpose. vfs_cmd_create() authorizes the create with mount_capable(), which for FS_USERNS_MOUNT checks ns_capable(fc->user_ns, CAP_SYS_ADMIN), and that succeeds for a task holding CAP_SYS_ADMIN in an ancestor of fc->user_ns. So an unprivileged task can reach the WARN_ON() in bm_fill_super(): create a user and a mount namespace in a child, call fsopen("binfmt_misc") there, send the fscontext fd to the parent and let the parent issue FSCONFIG_CMD_CREATE. Both namespaces come from a plain unshare(1) and no capability is needed anywhere: WARNING: fs/binfmt_misc.c:938 at bm_fill_super+0xa2/0xc0 [binfmt_misc] CPU: 15 UID: 1000 PID: 3243382 Comm: fswarn Call Trace: get_tree_keyed+0x7d/0xb0 bm_get_tree+0x34/0x90 [binfmt_misc] vfs_get_tree+0x2a/0x100 vfs_cmd_create+0x60/0xf0 __do_sys_fsconfig+0x4b2/0x500 The child needs the mount namespace because fsopen() itself gates on may_mount(), which asks for CAP_SYS_ADMIN in the user namespace owning the caller's mount namespace. fsconfig() doesn't repeat that check. It is a WARN_ON() and not a WARN_ON_ONCE(), so the condition can be raised in a loop to taint the kernel and flood the log, and it panics a kernel booted with panic_on_warn. Keep refusing the mount and stop warning about it. Nothing in bm_fill_super() depends on the two namespaces matching, it derives everything from sb->s_user_ns. 14 Oct
CVE-2026-74619 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ovl: don't warn when the mount is completed from another user namespace fsopen() records the caller's user namespace in fc->user_ns and hands back an ordinary file descriptor. So an unprivileged task can reach the WARN_ON() in ovl_fill_super(): create a user and a mount namespace in a child, call fsopen("overlay") there, send the fscontext fd to the parent and let the parent issue FSCONFIG_CMD_CREATE.
