CVE-2026-53361exploit 7.1 high 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: af_unix: Set gc_in_progress to true in unix_gc(). Igor Ushakov reported that unix_gc() could run with gc_in_progress being false if the work is scheduled while running: Thread 1 Thread 2 Thread 3 -------- -------- -------- unix_schedule_gc() unix_schedule_gc() `- if (!gc_in_progress) `- if (!gc_in_progress) |- gc_in_progress = true | `- queue_work() | unix_gc() <----------------/ | | |- gc_in_progress = true ... `- queue_work() | | `- gc_in_progress = false | | unix_gc() <---------------------------------------------' | ... /* gc_in_progress == false */ | `- gc_in_progress = false unix_peek_fpl() relies on gc_in_progress not to confuse GC by MSG_PEEK. Let's set gc_in_progress to true in unix_gc(). 19 Oct
CVE-1999-0024 5.0 medium 5.0% isc, bsdi, bind, bsd_os, aix DNS cache poisoning via BIND, by predictable query IDs. 9 Oct
CVE-2021-38604 7.5 high 4.0% gnu, fedoraproject, glibc, fedora, communications_cloud_native_core_binding_support_function In librt in the GNU C Library (aka glibc) through 2.34, sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/mq_notify.c mishandles certain NOTIFY_REMOVED data, leading to a NULL pointer dereference. NOTE: this vulnerability was introduced as a side effect of the CVE-2021-33574 fix. 14 Oct
CVE-2021-32751 7.5 high 3.0% gradle Gradle is a build tool with a focus on build automation. In versions prior to 7.2, start scripts generated by the `application` plugin and the `gradlew` script are both vulnerable to arbitrary code execution when an attacker is able to change environment variables for the user running the script. This may impact those who use `gradlew` on Unix-like systems or use the scripts generated by Gradle in thieir application on Unix-like systems. For this vulnerability to be exploitable, an attacker needs to be able to set the value of particular environment variables and have those environment variables be seen by the vulnerable scripts. This issue has been patched in Gradle 7.2 by removing the use of `eval` and requiring the use of the `bash` shell. There are a few workarounds available. For CI/CD systems using the Gradle build tool, one may ensure that untrusted users are unable to change environment variables for the user that executes `gradlew`. If one is unable to upgrade to Gradle 7.2, one may generate a new `gradlew` script with Gradle 7.2 and use it for older versions of Gradle. Fpplications using start scripts generated by Gradle, one may ensure that untrusted users are unable to change environment variables for the user that executes the start script. A vulnerable start script could be manually patched to remove the use of `eval` or the use of environment variables that affect the application's command-line. If the application is simple enough, one may be able to avoid the use of the start scripts by running the application directly with Java command. 8 Oct
CVE-2021-21290 5.5 medium 2.0% netty, debian, debian_linux, quarkus Netty is an open-source, asynchronous event-driven network application framework for rapid development of maintainable high performance protocol servers & clients. In Netty before version 4.1.59.Final there is a vulnerability on Unix-like systems involving an insecure temp file. When netty's multipart decoders are used local information disclosure can occur via the local system temporary directory if temporary storing uploads on the disk is enabled. On unix-like systems, the temporary directory is shared between all user. As such, writing to this directory using APIs that do not explicitly set the file/directory permissions can lead to information disclosure. Of note, this does not impact modern MacOS Operating Systems. The method "File.createTempFile" on unix-like systems creates a random file, but, by default will create this file with the permissions "-rw-r--r--". Thus, if sensitive information is written to this file, other local users can read this information. This is the case in netty's "AbstractDiskHttpData" is vulnerable. This has been fixed in version 4.1.59.Final. As a workaround, one may specify your own "java.io.tmpdir" when you start the JVM or use "DefaultHttpDataFactory.setBaseDir(...)" to set the directory to something that is only readable by the current user. 8 Oct
CVE-2026-91006 8.8 high 1.0% apache, karaf Apache Karaf's instance-management service (InstanceServiceImpl) builds the command line used to launch a child Karaf JVM by string concatenation, then executes it through /bin/sh (Unix) or cscript (Windows). The caller-supplied javaOpts value is spliced into that string unquoted. A javaOpts value containing shell metacharacters (;, |, `, $(...)) is interpreted by the shell instead of being passed to the JVM as an option, giving arbitrary OS command execution as the Karaf process user. Reachable via the shell commands instance:create, instance:start, instance:restart, instance:change-opts, and the equivalent InstanceMBean JMX operations (createInstance, startInstance, changeJavaOpts, cloneInstance). Mitigation * Set karaf.secured.command.compulsory.roles=admin in etc/system.properties to close the fail-open gap for all unconfigured command scopes. * Restrict which principals can reach instance:* commands and InstancesMBean via etc/users.properties role assignments. * Treat javaOpts passed to instance:create/instance:start/instance:change-opts/InstancesMBean as untrusted input only from fully-trusted operators. 8 Oct
CVE-2026-68899 8.7 high 1.0% no CPE yet Wekan is open source kanban built with Meteor. Prior to 9.90, isFileValid() in models/fileValidation.js used the Unix file command for content-based MIME detection, but detectMimeFromFile() silently returned undefined when that binary was unavailable and the validation fell back to the attacker-controlled fileObj.type supplied through server/routes/attachmentApi.js. On deployments with WITH_API=true and no file binary, an authenticated board member could label HTML containing JavaScript as image/png, bypass the dangerous MIME check, and store active content under the Wekan origin for execution when another user opened it. Version 9.90 adds looksLikeDangerousMarkup() to inspect file bytes and force dangerous-content scanning when MIME detection is unavailable. This issue is fixed in version 9.90. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-41450 8.5 high 1.0% no CPE yet UAC (Unix-like Artifacts Collector) versions prior to 3.3.0 contain a command injection vulnerability in the _command_collector function where foreach command output lines are substituted directly into command strings via sed without proper escaping before being evaluated with eval. Attackers can exploit this by crafting malicious filenames or artifact definitions containing shell metacharacters such as command substitution syntax or semicolons to execute arbitrary commands on the analyst's host system. 15 Oct
CVE-2026-41451 8.5 high 1.0% no CPE yet UAC (Unix-like Artifacts Collector) versions prior to 3.3.0 contain a command injection vulnerability in the user substitution logic within parse_artifact.sh where usernames and home directories from /etc/passwd are substituted directly into command strings without escaping before execution via eval. Attackers can inject shell metacharacters such as command substitution syntax or semicolons through crafted usernames or home directory paths in /etc/passwd entries to execute arbitrary commands on the analyst's host system. 15 Oct
CVE-2026-41449 8.5 high 1.0% no CPE yet UAC (Unix-like Artifacts Collector) versions prior to 3.3.0 contain a command injection vulnerability in the _run_command function that allows attackers to execute arbitrary commands by injecting shell metacharacters into untrusted data such as usernames, process names, or filenames. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability through crafted evidence inputs, mounted images with hostile filenames, or tampered artifact definitions to achieve remote code execution on the analyst's host when processing evidence. 14 Oct
CVE-2021-29428 7.8 high 1.0% gradle, quarkus In Gradle before version 7.0, on Unix-like systems, the system temporary directory can be created with open permissions that allow multiple users to create and delete files within it. Gradle builds could be vulnerable to a local privilege escalation from an attacker quickly deleting and recreating files in the system temporary directory. This vulnerability impacted builds using precompiled script plugins written in Kotlin DSL and tests for Gradle plugins written using ProjectBuilder or TestKit. If you are on Windows or modern versions of macOS, you are not vulnerable. If you are on a Unix-like operating system with the "sticky" bit set on your system temporary directory, you are not vulnerable. The problem has been patched and released with Gradle 7.0. As a workaround, on Unix-like operating systems, ensure that the "sticky" bit is set. This only allows the original user (or root) to delete a file. If you are unable to change the permissions of the system temporary directory, you can move the Java temporary directory by setting the System Property `java.io.tmpdir`. The new path needs to limit permissions to the build user only. For additional details refer to the referenced GitHub Security Advisory. 8 Oct
CVE-2025-71364 7.6 high 1.0% no CPE yet picklescan before 0.0.30 fails to detect the asyncio.unix_events._UnixSubprocessTransport._start function in pickle reduce methods, allowing remote code execution. Attackers can craft malicious pickle files embedding this built-in function that evade detection but execute arbitrary commands when loaded. 12 Oct
CVE-2026-41015 7.4 high 1.0% no CPE yet radare2 before 9236f44, when configured on UNIX without SSL, allows command injection via a PDB name to rabin2 -PP. NOTE: although users are supposed to use the latest version from git (not a release), the date range for the vulnerable code was less than a week, occurring after 6.1.2 but before 6.1.3. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-66881 7.0 high 1.0% livebook Relative Path Traversal vulnerability in livebook-dev livebook allows an attacker-authored notebook to write a file with attacker-controlled content to an arbitrary path. A .livemd notebook can declare file_entries metadata, each entry carrying a name. Every path that creates a file entry through the user interface validates that name with Livebook.Notebook.validate_file_entry_name/2, which requires a flat filename of alphanumerics, dashes, underscores and dots, ending in an extension. The import path does not: Livebook.LiveMarkdown.Import.file_entry_metadata_to_attrs/1 in lib/livebook/live_markdown/import.ex takes the name verbatim from the notebook source. For a URL-type file entry, Livebook.Session.file_entry_cache_file/2 in lib/livebook/session.ex resolves that name beneath the session's temporary directory without checking that the result stays inside it, and Livebook.FileSystem.Utils.resolve_unix_like_path/2 collapses parent-directory segments while clamping only at the filesystem root. When the entry's content is requested and no cached copy exists, Livebook fetches the entry's URL and writes the response body to the resolved path, creating parent directories as needed. The attacker therefore controls both the destination and the contents of the written file, which may land anywhere the Livebook process can write. The same missing containment check is present in Livebook.Session.to_attachment_file_entry/2. A victim who opens an attacker-supplied notebook and causes the entry to be fetched triggers the write within their own authenticated session; the attacker needs no account on the target instance. URL-type entries are also not placed under notebook stamping quarantine on import, so no warning is shown. This issue affects livebook: from 0.11.0 before 0.18.7 and from 0.19.0 before 0.19.9. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2026-73411 6.3 medium 1.0% no CPE yet Shescape is a simple shell escape library for JavaScript. Prior to 2.1.14 and 3.0.1, getEscapeFunction in src/internal/unix/dash.js fails to escape ~ after : or = when applications use the escape or escapeAll APIs on Unix with shell set to dash, or with shell set to true when Dash is the default, and interpolate the result into an assignment prefixed to a command. An attacker who controls the input can supply a value such as :~ to disclose the home-directory path and may change the location on which the command operates. This issue is fixed in versions 2.1.14 and 3.0.1. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2026-73412 6.3 medium 1.0% no CPE yet Shescape is a simple shell escape library for JavaScript. Prior to 2.1.14 and 3.0.1, this impacts users of Shescape on Unix systems that explicitly configure shell to Zsh, or true when the default shell is Zsh, using the escape and escapeAll. The Zsh options EXTENDED_GLOB and MAGIC_EQUAL_SUBST exacerbate the problem. In certain case, an attacker can leverage home directory expansion and extended glob syntax to obtain lists of files and directories on the system. Depending on what the command does, this may be used to leak more information. This issue is fixed in versions 2.1.14 and 3.0.1. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2025-11233 6.3 medium 1.0% no CPE yet Starting from Rust 1.87.0 and before Rust 1.89.0, the tier 3 Cygwin target (`x86_64-pc-cygwin`) didn't correctly handle path separators, causing the standard library's Path API to ignore path components separated by backslashes. Due to this, programs compiled for Cygwin that validate paths could misbehave, potentially allowing path traversal attacks or malicious filesystem operations. Rust 1.89.0 fixes the issue by handling both Win32 and Unix style paths in the standard library for the Cygwin target. While we assess the severity of this vulnerability as "medium", please note that the tier 3 Cygwin compilation target is only available when building it from source: no pre-built binaries are distributed by the Rust project, and it cannot be installed through Rustup. Unless you manually compiled the `x86_64-pc-cygwin` target you are not affected by this vulnerability. Users of the tier 1 MinGW target (`x86_64-pc-windows-gnu`) are also explicitly not affected. 9 Oct
CVE-2026-46792 9.9 critical 0.00% oracle, identity_manager_connector Vulnerability in the Identity Manager Connector product of Oracle Fusion Middleware (component: Generic Unix Connector). Supported versions that are affected are 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.1.0. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows low privileged attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise Identity Manager Connector. While the vulnerability is in Identity Manager Connector, attacks may significantly impact additional products (scope change). Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in takeover of Identity Manager Connector. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 9.9 (Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability impacts). CVE-2026-101306 9.8 critical 0.00% freebsd SCM_RIGHTS file descriptor passing did not preserve FD_RESOLVE_BENEATH when a descriptor was transferred. A process could clear the restriction by sending the descriptor to itself over a Unix domain socket. A process in a jail that has received a directory file descriptor from another jail can use these techniques to escape the jail's filesystem root restriction. 20 Oct
CVE-2026-109575 9.8 critical 0.00% no CPE yet In HAProxy Data Plane API 2.2.0 through 3.4.3 (and corresponding Enterprise Edition releases), Server.ConfigureAPI() has process-global authentication logic that improperly drops security controls across multiple transport types. When a TLS Certificate Authority (tls_ca) is configured and a numeric TLS port (tls_port) is specified, the application globally disables Basic authentication on its shared internal request handler. Because this handler is shared concurrently among HTTP, HTTPS, and UNIX domain socket listeners, and mutual TLS (mTLS) client certificate verification (tls.RequireAndVerifyClientCert) is enforced exclusively on the HTTPS server path, all other simultaneously active non-mTLS listeners fail open. Consequently, an unauthenticated attacker capable of reaching an affected HTTP or UNIX management endpoint can completely bypass credentials to gain full API administrative access. This allows unauthorized remote or local actors to read sensitive, cleartext HAProxy configuration data or replace the managed configuration entirely via the raw configuration endpoint. This has been fixed in versions 3.4.4, 3.3.9, 3.2.17, 3.0.25, 2.9.29, and their respective EE backports by migrating to a per-request TLS connection-state validation model. 16 Oct
CVE-2026-49243 9.6 critical 0.00% no CPE yet Webmin is a web-based system administration tool for Unix-like servers. Prior to version 2.650, Webmin users who click on a malicious link to their server are vulnerable to this XSS vulnerability that could be used to execute attacker-controlled commands. This issue has been patched in version 2.650. 13 Oct
CVE-2026-50612 9.4 critical 0.00% no CPE yet An unix symbolic link (symlink) following vulnerability has been reported to affect QuMagie. If a remote attacker gains a user account, they can then exploit the vulnerability to compromise the security of the system. We have already fixed the vulnerability in the following version: QuMagie 2.9.2 and later 15 Oct
CVE-2023-7325 9.3 critical 0.00% no CPE yet Anheng Mingyu Operation and Maintenance Audit and Risk Control System up to 2023-08-10 contains a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in the xmlrpc.sock handler. The product accepts specially crafted XML-RPC requests that can be used to instruct the server to connect to internal unix socket RPC endpoints and perform privileged XML-RPC methods. An attacker able to send such requests can invoke administrative RPC methods via the unix socket interface to create arbitrary user accounts on the system, resulting in account creation and potential takeover of the bastion host. VulnCheck has observed this vulnerability being exploited in the wild as of 2025-10-30 at 00:30:17.837319 UTC. 18 Oct
CVE-2026-34177 9.1 critical 0.00% canonical, lxd Canonical LXD versions 4.12 through 6.7 contain an incomplete denylist in isVMLowLevelOptionForbidden (lxd/project/limits/permissions.go), which omits raw.apparmor and raw.qemu.conf from the set of keys blocked under the restricted.virtual-machines.lowlevel=block project restriction. A remote attacker with can_edit permission on a VM instance in a restricted project can inject an AppArmor rule and a QEMU chardev configuration that bridges the LXD Unix socket into the guest VM, enabling privilege escalation to LXD cluster administrator and subsequently to host root. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-68083 9.1 critical 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: fix path resolution in ksmbd_vfs_kern_path_create The SMB2 open lookup is rooted at the share with LOOKUP_BENEATH, but the create/mkdir/hardlink sink is not: ksmbd_vfs_kern_path_create() builds an absolute path with convert_to_unix_name() and resolves it from AT_FDCWD via start_creating_path(), so a ".." component is walked from the real filesystem root and escapes the export. An authenticated client races a missing path component so the rooted open lookup returns -ENOENT (taking the create branch) while the same component is present (a directory) when the create walk runs; the create then resolves ".." out of the share. Root the create walk at the share like the lookup and rename paths already are: resolve the parent with vfs_path_parent_lookup(..., LOOKUP_BENEATH, &share_conf->vfs_path) and create the final component with start_creating_noperm(). convert_to_unix_name() then has no callers and is removed. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-13622 8.8 high 0.00% no CPE yet A symlink following vulnerability was found in KubeVirt's virt-handler migration proxy. During live migration, virt-handler dials Unix sockets inside the target virt-launcher pod via /proc/<pid>/root/ paths using net.Dial() without symlink protection. These socket paths reside in qemu-owned directories writable by the virt-launcher user. An attacker with namespace edit and pods/exec permissions can replace a migration proxy socket with a symlink to the host CRI-O socket. Because virt-handler runs as root in the host mount namespace, absolute symlink targets resolve against the host filesystem, and the bidirectional io.Copy proxy relays attacker-controlled bytes to the container runtime, enabling full node compromise. Fri 23 Oct
CVE-2026-64109 8.8 high 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: af_unix: Fix UAF read of tail->len in unix_stream_data_wait() unix_stream_data_wait() does skb_peek_tail(&sk->sk_receive_queue) without holding any lock that prevents SKBs on that queue from being dequeued and freed. This has been the case since commit 79f632c71bea ("unix/stream: fix peeking with an offset larger than data in queue"). The first consequence of this is that the pointer comparison `tail != last` can be false even if `last` semantically refers to an already-freed SKB while `tail` is a new SKB allocated at the same address; which can cause unix_stream_data_wait() to wrongly keep blocking after new data has arrived, but only in a weird scenario where a peeking recv() and a normal recv() on the same socket are racing, which is probably not a real problem. But since commit 2b514574f7e8 ("net: af_unix: implement splice for stream af_unix sockets"), `tail` is actually dereferenced, which can cause UAF in the following race scenario (where test_setup() runs single-threaded, and afterwards, test_thread1() and test_thread2() run concurrently in two threads: ``` static int socks[2]; void test_setup(void) { socketpair(AF_UNIX, SOCK_STREAM, 0, socks); send(socks[1], "A", 1, 0); int peekoff = 1; setsockopt(socks[0], SOL_SOCKET, SO_PEEK_OFF, &peekoff, sizeof(peekoff)); } void test_thread1(void) { char dummy; recv(socks[0], &dummy, 1, MSG_PEEK); } void test_thread2(void) { char dummy; recv(socks[0], &dummy, 1, 0); shutdown(socks[1], SHUT_WR); } ``` when racing like this: ``` thread1 thread2 unix_stream_read_generic mutex_lock(&u->iolock) skb_peek(&sk->sk_receive_queue) skb_peek_next(skb, &sk->sk_receive_queue) mutex_unlock(&u->iolock) unix_stream_read_generic unix_state_lock(sk) skb_peek(&sk->sk_receive_queue) unix_state_unlock(sk) unix_stream_data_wait unix_state_lock(sk) tail = skb_peek_tail(&sk->sk_receive_queue) spin_lock(&sk->sk_receive_queue.lock) __skb_unlink(skb, &sk->sk_receive_queue) spin_unlock(&sk->sk_receive_queue.lock) consume_skb(skb) [frees the SKB] `tail != last`: false `tail`: true `tail->len != last_len` ***UAF*** ``` Fix the UAF by removing the read of tail->len; checking tail->len would only make sense if SKBs in the receive queue of a UNIX socket could grow, which can no longer happen. Kuniyuki explained: > When commit 869e7c62486e ("net: af_unix: implement stream sendpage > support") added sendpage() support, data could be appended to the last > skb in the receiver's queue. > > That's why we needed to check if the length of the last skb was changed > while waiting for new data in unix_stream_data_wait(). > > However, commit a0dbf5f818f9 ("af_unix: Support MSG_SPLICE_PAGES") and > commit 57d44a354a43 ("unix: Convert unix_stream_sendpage() to use > MSG_SPLICE_PAGES") refactored sendmsg(), and now data is always added > to a new skb. That means this fix is not suitable for kernels before 6.5. 19 Oct
CVE-2025-55068 8.8 high 0.00% no CPE yet Dover Fueling Solutions ProGauge MagLink LX4 Devices fail to handle Unix time values beyond a certain point. An attacker can manually change the system time to exploit this limitation, potentially causing errors in authentication and leading to a denial-of-service condition. 18 Oct
CVE-2026-105464 8.8 high 0.00% no CPE yet IBM Db2 11.5.0 through 11.5.9, and 12.1.0 through 12.1.5 for Linux, UNIX and Windows (includes DB2 Connect Server) could allow a local attacker to gain elevated privileges due to improper privilege management. 13 Oct
CVE-2026-31611 8.6 high 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: require 3 sub-authorities before reading sub_auth[2] parse_dacl() compares each ACE SID against sid_unix_NFS_mode and on match reads sid.sub_auth[2] as the file mode. If sid_unix_NFS_mode is the prefix S-1-5-88-3 with num_subauth = 2 then compare_sids() compares only min(num_subauth, 2) sub-authorities so a client SID with num_subauth = 2 and sub_auth = {88, 3} will match. If num_subauth = 2 and the ACE is placed at the very end of the security descriptor, sub_auth[2] will be 4 bytes past end_of_acl. The out-of-band bytes will then be masked to the low 9 bits and applied as the file's POSIX mode, probably not something that is good to have happen. Fix this up by forcing the SID to actually carry a third sub-authority before reading it at all. 15 Oct
CVE-2026-78680 8.5 high 0.00% no CPE yet NLTK versions before 3.10.3 fail to use validated absolute paths when invoking the Graphviz dot binary in dependencygraph.dot2img and AlignedSent._repr_svg_, allowing attackers to execute arbitrary code by placing a malicious dot binary in the search path or current working directory. Attackers can exploit bare-name binary resolution on Windows via the current working directory or on Unix-like systems via relative PATH entries to execute their binary instead of the legitimate Graphviz tool. 12 Oct
CVE-2026-45108 8.4 high 0.00% no CPE yet Himmelblau is an interoperability suite for Microsoft Azure Entra ID and Intune. From 2.0.0 to before 3.1.5 and 2.3.11, Himmelblau contained an authentication bypass vulnerability in the Device Authorization Grant (DAG) flow that allowed a user within the same Entra ID domain to obtain a local Unix session as another user by providing their own valid credentials. The vulnerability existed in the token_validate function, which validated domain aliases for legitimate multi-domain scenarios but failed to verify that the local part (username) of the authenticated user's UPN matched the requested account username. The function only compared domains, not the complete usernames. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.1.5 and 2.3.11. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-63388 8.4 high 0.00% no CPE yet Libevent is an event notification library. Prior to 2.1.13 and 2.2.2-alpha, libevent has a heap out-of-bounds write in bufferevent_sock.c when bufferevent_socket_set_conn_address_ copies a kernel-supplied AF_UNIX peer address into bufferevent_private.conn_address. Release builds compiled with NDEBUG disable the EVUTIL_ASSERT length guard, and the evhttp accept path can pass a 110-byte sockaddr from accept() into the 28-byte field. An unauthenticated local peer able to connect to an AF_UNIX listener can overwrite the adjacent dns_request pointer and heap data, causing memory corruption with confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact. This issue is fixed in versions 2.1.13 and 2.2.2-alpha. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-105453 8.4 high 0.00% no CPE yet IBM Sterling Connect Direct for Unix 6.3.0.0 through 6.3.0.7 and 6.4.0.0 through 6.4.0.6 could allow a local attacker to gain elevated privileges due to improper privilege management. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-45369 8.3 high 0.00% no CPE yet python-utcp is the python implementation of UTCP. Prior to 1.1.3, the _substitute_utcp_args method in cli_communication_protocol.py inserts user-controlled tool_args values directly into shell command strings without any sanitization or escaping. These commands are then executed via /bin/bash -c (Unix) or powershell.exe -Command (Windows), allowing an attacker to inject arbitrary shell commands. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.1.3. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-53657 8.2 high 0.00% no CPE yet Lima launches Linux virtual machines, typically on macOS, for running containerd. Prior to 2.1.3, on an instance of Lima running with the qemu driver, an arbitrary user in the VM could access /run/lima-guestagent.sock when the guest agent is enabled, which could result in running arbitrary commands with root privileges in the VM because the guest agent socket provides tunneling for arbitrary addresses, including Unix socket addresses for privileged daemons like D-Bus. This issue is fixed in version 2.1.3. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2026-60533 8.0 high 0.00% oracle, identity_manager_connector Vulnerability in the Oracle Identity Manager Connector product of Oracle Fusion Middleware (component: Generic Unix Connector). Supported versions that are affected are 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.1.0. Difficult to exploit vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with access to the physical communication segment attached to the hardware where the Oracle Identity Manager Connector executes to compromise Oracle Identity Manager Connector. While the vulnerability is in Oracle Identity Manager Connector, attacks may significantly impact additional products (scope change). CVE-2026-54552 7.9 high 0.00% no CPE yet sh provides Python process launching. Prior to 2.2.4, the _uid option in sh.py performs an incomplete privilege drop on Linux and Unix-like systems. When sh runs from an elevated process and launches a command with _uid set to an unprivileged user, the child changes its UID but can retain the parent process's supplementary groups because the privilege-drop sequence does not fully establish the target user's UID, primary GID, and supplementary groups. The child can therefore retain access to files or resources granted to privileged groups such as root, docker, disk, shadow, or sudo, violating the expected _uid privilege boundary. This issue is fixed in version 2.2.4. Thu 22 Oct
CVE-2026-44471 7.8 high 0.00% gitoxidelabs, gix-fs gitoxide is an implementation of git written in Rust. Prior to 0.21.1, a malicious tree can be constructed that will, when checked out with gitoxide, permit writing an attacker-controlled symlink into any existing directory the user has write access to. During checkout, all symlink index entries are deferred and created after regular files using a single shared gix_worktree::Stack. Internally, this uses a gix_fs::Stack. gix_fs::Stack::make_relative_path_current() caches validated path prefixes: when the previously-processed leaf component exactly matches the leading component(s) of the next path, the leaf-to-directory transition at gix-fs/src/stack.rs invokes only delegate.push_directory(), never delegate.push(). In gix_worktree::stack::delegate::StackDelegate, when the state member is State::CreateDirectoryAndAttributesStack, Attributes::push_directory() only loads attributes (from the ODB, in the clone case), and does not perform any other checks. The on-disk symlink_metadata() check and unlink-on-collision live in StackDelegate::push()'s invocation of create_leading_directory(), which is therefore bypassed for the cached prefix. The final symlink is created with plain std::os::unix::fs::symlink, which follows symlinks in parent directories. Therefore, it's possible to provide a tree with duplicate symlink and directory entries that exploits this. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.21.1. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-39822 7.8 high 0.00% golang, go On Unix systems, opening a file in an os.Root improperly follows symlinks to locations outside of the Root when the final path component of the a path is a symbolic link and the path ends in /. CVE-2026-50056 7.8 high 0.00% no CPE yet A local privilege escalation vulnerability in the zmmailboxdmgr launcher of Zimbra Collaboration Suite (ZCS) allows the Unix zimbra account to execute arbitrary commands as root. The passwordless sudo interface accepts JVM arguments that are not adequately restricted. An attacker can postpone Jetty's privilege drop, register an OnOutOfMemoryError command and force heap exhaustion during startup, causing the command to execute while the JVM still runs as root. Exploitation requires local command execution as zimbra on a mailbox server and interrupts mailboxd during the malicious restart. ZCS 10.1.16 and 10.1.21 are affected. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2026-50057 7.8 high 0.00% no CPE yet A local privilege escalation vulnerability in the Zimbra Collaboration Suite (ZCS) MTA package allows the Unix zimbra account to execute arbitrary commands as root. The installed sudo policy permits passwordless root execution of Postfix administration commands without restricting their arguments. An attacker can select a zimbra-controlled daemon_directory in the Postfix configuration and invoke postfix set-permissions, causing Postfix to execute the attacker's post-install program as root. The Postfix configuration directory is also writable by zimbra, so restricting postconf alone does not remove the execution path. Exploitation requires local command execution as zimbra on an MTA node. ZCS 10.1.16 and 10.1.21 are affected. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2026-93640 7.8 high 0.00% no CPE yet A local privilege escalation vulnerability in the optional dnscache package of Zimbra Collaboration Suite (ZCS) allows the Unix zimbra account to access files with root privileges. The passwordless sudo policy permits arbitrary arguments to zmunbound, whose wrapper forwards them to Unbound without restricting the configuration path. An attacker can supply a configuration that retains root privileges and disables the chroot. Include directives expose root-readable file contents through parser errors, while an attacker-selected logfile path creates a root-owned file or appends Unbound log records to an existing file. This can disclose password hashes and private keys and corrupt privileged configuration files, preventing affected services from starting with the modified configuration. The affected configuration is present in ZCS 10.1.16 and 10.1.21 dnscache packages. Sat 24 Oct

CVE-2025-68174 7.8 high 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: amd/amdkfd: enhance kfd process check in switch partition current switch partition only check if kfd_processes_table is empty. kfd_prcesses_table entry is deleted in kfd_process_notifier_release, but kfd_process tear down is in kfd_process_wq_release. consider two processes: Process A (workqueue) -> kfd_process_wq_release -> Access kfd_node member Process B switch partition -> amdgpu_xcp_pre_partition_switch -> amdgpu_amdkfd_device_fini_sw -> kfd_node tear down. Process A and B may trigger a race as shown in dmesg log. This patch is to resolve the race by adding an atomic kfd_process counter kfd_processes_count, it increment as create kfd process, decrement as finish kfd_process_wq_release. v2: Put kfd_processes_count per kfd_dev, move decrement to kfd_process_destroy_pdds and bug fix. CVE-2026-89638 7.8 high 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: clear setuid/setgid bit on write with cifsacl/modefromsid/posix extensions When a file has the setuid or setgid bit set and is written to, the VFS strips those bits and issues a setattr with ATTR_KILL_SUID/ATTR_KILL_SGID together with an ATTR_MODE carrying the already-cleared mode. Both cifs_setattr_unix() and cifs_setattr_nounix() unconditionally dropped ATTR_MODE in that case: /* skip mode change if it's just for clearing setuid/setgid */ if (attrs->ia_valid & (ATTR_KILL_SUID|ATTR_KILL_SGID)) attrs->ia_valid &= ~ATTR_MODE; This is fine for the default mount, where the mode is only emulated via the DOS read-only attribute and cannot represent the setuid/setgid bits anyway. However, with the "cifsacl" or "modefromsid" mount options the mode is stored on the server through an ACL (id_mode_to_cifs_acl()), with the SMB3.1.1 POSIX extensions the mode is sent to the server directly, and with the SMB1 Unix extensions (cifs_setattr_unix) the mode is sent via CIFSSMBUnixSetPathInfo(). In all those cases dropping ATTR_MODE means the cleared mode is never pushed to the server, so the setuid/setgid bit survives the write. This is a security issue: on local filesystems the setuid bit is stripped when a file is written, but over these cifs.ko mounts the bit persists on the server, potentially allowing an unexpected privilege escalation on subsequent execution. Fix this in two places: 1. cifs_setattr_nounix(): only take the "skip mode change" shortcut when the mode is emulated via the DOS read-only attribute (i.e. neither cifsacl/modefromsid nor the SMB3.1.1 POSIX extensions are in effect), so that the cleared mode is propagated to the server in the ACL / POSIX cases. 2. cifs_setattr_unix(): this function is only called when Unix extensions are in effect, so the mode is always stored on the server. Remove the shortcut entirely so that the cleared mode is always pushed. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-74257 7.8 high 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sockmap: Fix use-after-free in udp_bpf_recvmsg() syzbot reported use-after-free of struct sk_msg in sk_msg_recvmsg(). [0] sk_msg_recvmsg() peeks sk_msg from psock->ingress_msg under a lock, but its processing is lockless. Thus, sk_msg_recvmsg() must be serialised by callers, otherwise multiple threads could touch the same sk_msg. For example, TCP uses lock_sock(), and AF_UNIX uses unix_sk(sk)->iolock. Initially, udp_bpf_recvmsg() had used lock_sock(), but the cited commit removed it. Let's serialise sk_msg_recvmsg() with lock_sock() in udp_bpf_recvmsg(). Note that holding spin_lock_bh(&sk->sk_receive_queue.lock) is not an option due to copy_page_to_iter() in sk_msg_recvmsg(). CVE-2025-40214 7.8 high 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: af_unix: Initialise scc_index in unix_add_edge(). Quang Le reported that the AF_UNIX GC could garbage-collect a receive queue of an alive in-flight socket, with a nice repro. The repro consists of three stages. 1) 1-a. Create a single cyclic reference with many sockets 1-b. close() all sockets 1-c. Trigger GC 2) 2-a. Pass sk-A to an embryo sk-B 2-b. Pass sk-X to sk-X 2-c. Trigger GC 3) 3-a. accept() the embryo sk-B 3-b. Pass sk-B to sk-C 3-c. close() the in-flight sk-A 3-d. Trigger GC As of 2-c, sk-A and sk-X are linked to unix_unvisited_vertices, and unix_walk_scc() groups them into two different SCCs: unix_sk(sk-A)->vertex->scc_index = 2 (UNIX_VERTEX_INDEX_START) unix_sk(sk-X)->vertex->scc_index = 3 Once GC completes, unix_graph_grouped is set to true. Also, unix_graph_maybe_cyclic is set to true due to sk-X's cyclic self-reference, which makes close() trigger GC. At 3-b, unix_add_edge() allocates unix_sk(sk-B)->vertex and links it to unix_unvisited_vertices. unix_update_graph() is called at 3-a. and 3-b., but neither unix_graph_grouped nor unix_graph_maybe_cyclic is changed because both sk-B's listener and sk-C are not in-flight. 3-c decrements sk-A's file refcnt to 1. Since unix_graph_grouped is true at 3-d, unix_walk_scc_fast() is finally called and iterates 3 sockets sk-A, sk-B, and sk-X: sk-A -> sk-B (-> sk-C) sk-X -> sk-X This is totally fine. All of them are not yet close()d and should be grouped into different SCCs. However, unix_vertex_dead() misjudges that sk-A and sk-B are in the same SCC and sk-A is dead. unix_sk(sk-A)->scc_index == unix_sk(sk-B)->scc_index <-- Wrong! && sk-A's file refcnt == unix_sk(sk-A)->vertex->out_degree ^-- 1 in-flight count for sk-B -> sk-A is dead !? The problem is that unix_add_edge() does not initialise scc_index. Stage 1) is used for heap spraying, making a newly allocated vertex have vertex->scc_index == 2 (UNIX_VERTEX_INDEX_START) set by unix_walk_scc() at 1-c. Let's track the max SCC index from the previous unix_walk_scc() call and assign the max + 1 to a new vertex's scc_index. This way, we can continue to avoid Tarjan's algorithm while preventing misjudgments. 19 Oct
