CVE-2026-53033 7.8 high 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf, sockmap: Take state lock for af_unix iter When a BPF iterator program updates a sockmap, there is a race condition in unix_stream_bpf_update_proto() where the `peer` pointer can become stale[1] during a state transition TCP_ESTABLISHED -> TCP_CLOSE. CPU0 bpf CPU1 close -------- ---------- // unix_stream_bpf_update_proto() sk_pair = unix_peer(sk) if (unlikely(!sk_pair)) return -EINVAL; // unix_release_sock() skpair = unix_peer(sk); unix_peer(sk) = NULL; sock_put(skpair) sock_hold(sk_pair) // UaF More practically, this fix guarantees that the iterator program is consistently provided with a unix socket that remains stable during iterator execution. CVE-2026-53005 7.8 high 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: af_unix: Drop all SCM attributes for SOCKMAP. SOCKMAP can hide inflight fd from AF_UNIX GC. When a socket in SOCKMAP receives skb with inflight fd, sk_psock_verdict_data_ready() looks up the mapped socket and enqueue skb to its psock->ingress_skb. Since neither the old nor the new GC can inspect the psock queue, the hidden skb leaks the inflight sockets. Note that this cannot be detected via kmemleak because inflight sockets are linked to a global list. In addition, SOCKMAP redirect breaks the Tarjan-based GC's assumption that unix_edge.successor is always alive, which is no longer true once skb is redirected, resulting in use-after-free below. [0] Moreover, SOCKMAP does not call scm_stat_del() properly, so unix_show_fdinfo() could report an incorrect fd count. sk_msg_recvmsg() does not support any SCM attributes in the first place. Let's drop all SCM attributes before passing skb to the SOCKMAP layer. CVE-2026-31673 7.8 high 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: af_unix: read UNIX_DIAG_VFS data under unix_state_lock Exact UNIX diag lookups hold a reference to the socket, but not to u->path. Meanwhile, unix_release_sock() clears u->path under unix_state_lock() and drops the path reference after unlocking. Read the inode and device numbers for UNIX_DIAG_VFS while holding unix_state_lock(), then emit the netlink attribute after dropping the lock. This keeps the VFS data stable while the reply is being built. 19 Oct
CVE-2025-38154 7.8 high 0.00% linux, debian, linux_kernel, debian_linux In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf, sockmap: Avoid using sk_socket after free when sending The sk->sk_socket is not locked or referenced in backlog thread, and during the call to skb_send_sock(), there is a race condition with the release of sk_socket. All types of sockets(tcp/udp/unix/vsock) will be affected. Race conditions: ''' CPU0 CPU1 backlog::skb_send_sock sendmsg_unlocked sock_sendmsg sock_sendmsg_nosec close(fd): ... ops->release() -> sock_map_close() sk_socket->ops = NULL free(socket) sock->ops->sendmsg ^ panic here ''' The ref of psock become 0 after sock_map_close() executed. ''' void sock_map_close() { ... if (likely(psock)) { ... // !! here we remove psock and the ref of psock become 0 sock_map_remove_links(sk, psock) psock = sk_psock_get(sk); if (unlikely(!psock)) goto no_psock; <=== Control jumps here via goto ... cancel_delayed_work_sync(&psock->work); <=== not executed sk_psock_put(sk, psock); ... } ''' Based on the fact that we already wait for the workqueue to finish in sock_map_close() if psock is held, we simply increase the psock reference count to avoid race conditions. With this patch, if the backlog thread is running, sock_map_close() will wait for the backlog thread to complete and cancel all pending work. If no backlog running, any pending work that hasn't started by then will fail when invoked by sk_psock_get(), as the psock reference count have been zeroed, and sk_psock_drop() will cancel all jobs via cancel_delayed_work_sync(). In summary, we require synchronization to coordinate the backlog thread and close() thread. The panic I catched: ''' Workqueue: events sk_psock_backlog RIP: 0010:sock_sendmsg+0x21d/0x440 RAX: 0000000000000000 RBX: ffffc9000521fad8 RCX: 0000000000000001 ... CVE-2026-103929 7.8 high 0.00% no CPE yet mise manages dev tools like node, python, cmake, and terraform. Prior to 2026.7.14, in the default non-safe mode, mise loads .mise.toml [settings] from an untrusted local project before trust approval and strip_local_only_settings removes only fields marked global_only. The unix_default_file_shell_args, unix_default_inline_shell_args, windows_default_file_shell_args, and windows_default_inline_shell_args settings were not marked global_only, allowing a repository to replace the default interpreter arguments used by trusted tasks that have no explicit shell, postinstall directives, template exec operations, or hooks that fall back to the default shell. When mise appends the trusted command after the attacker-controlled interpreter arguments, the attacker-selected command can execute first with the developer account's privileges even though the local configuration was never trusted. The separate path-sanitization hardening note in the advisory is outside this vulnerability. This issue is fixed in version 2026.7.14. 15 Oct
CVE-2026-18166 7.7 high 0.00% no CPE yet IBM Db2 11.5.0 through 11.5.9, and 12.1.0 through 12.1.5 for Linux, UNIX and Windows (includes DB2 Connect Server) could allow a remote authenticated attacker to obtain sensitive information due to improper authorization when using the CREATE WRAPPER command. 13 Oct
CVE-2026-43350 7.6 high 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: require a full NFS mode SID before reading mode bits parse_dacl() treats an ACE SID matching sid_unix_NFS_mode as an NFS mode SID and reads sid.sub_auth[2] to recover the mode bits. That assumes the ACE carries three subauthorities, but compare_sids() only compares min(a, b) subauthorities. A malicious server can return an ACE with num_subauth = 2 and sub_auth[] = {88, 3}, which still matches sid_unix_NFS_mode and then drives the sub_auth[2] read four bytes past the end of the ACE. Require num_subauth >= 3 before treating the ACE as an NFS mode SID. This keeps the fix local to the special-SID mode path without changing compare_sids() semantics for the rest of cifsacl. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-22767 7.3 high 0.00% dell, appsync Dell AppSync, version(s) 4.6.0, contain(s) an UNIX Symbolic Link (Symlink) Following vulnerability. A low privileged attacker with local access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to Information tampering. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-55626 7.3 high 0.00% neutrinolabs, xrdp xrdp is an open source RDP server. In versions 0.10.6 and prior, when an authenticated user session is initialized using the Xvnc backend over UNIX domain sockets, the Xvnc process is launched with insufficient authentication mechanisms. A local authenticated attacker could exploit this vulnerability to bypass intended session isolation, allowing them to unauthorizedly view or control the active desktop sessions of other users on the same system. Users using other backends, such as xorgxrdp or Xvnc over TCP sockets, are not affected. This issue has been fixed in version 0.10.6.1. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2026-13067 7.2 high 0.00% mongodb When PROXY protocol v2 is used on the Unix domain socket path, roles derived from X.509 client certificates may not be validated against the configured tlsCATrusts allow-list. This can result in unintended role assignments following MONGODB-X509 authentication. Affected scenarios require local access to the proxy Unix domain socket and a valid X.509 certificate issued by a trusted certificate authority. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2026-39959 7.1 high 0.00% no CPE yet Tmds.DBus provides .NET libraries for working with D-Bus from .NET. Tmds.DBus and Tmds.DBus.Protocol are vulnerable to malicious D-Bus peers. A peer on the same bus can spoof signals by impersonating the owner of a well-known name, exhaust system resources or cause file descriptor spillover by sending messages with an excessive number of Unix file descriptors, and crash the application by sending malformed message bodies that cause unhandled exceptions on the SynchronizationContext. This vulnerability is fixed in Tmds.DBus 0.92.0 and Tmds.DBus.Protocol 0.92.0 and 0.21.3. Mon 26 Oct

CVE-2026-39316 6.2 medium 0.00% openprinting, cups OpenPrinting CUPS is an open source printing system for Linux and other Unix-like operating systems. In versions 2.4.16 and prior, a use-after-free vulnerability exists in the CUPS scheduler (cupsd) when temporary printers are automatically deleted. cupsdDeleteTemporaryPrinters() in scheduler/printers.c calls cupsdDeletePrinter() without first expiring subscriptions that reference the printer, leaving cupsd_subscription_t.dest as a dangling pointer to freed heap memory. The dangling pointer is subsequently dereferenced at multiple code sites, causing a crash (denial of service) of the cupsd daemon. With heap grooming, this can be leveraged for code execution. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-39314 6.2 medium 0.00% openprinting, cups OpenPrinting CUPS is an open source printing system for Linux and other Unix-like operating systems. In versions 2.4.16 and prior, an integer underflow vulnerability in _ppdCreateFromIPP() (cups/ppd-cache.c) allows any unprivileged local user to crash the cupsd root process by supplying a negative job-password-supported IPP attribute. The bounds check only caps the upper bound, so a negative value passes validation, is cast to size_t (wrapping to ~2^64), and is used as the length argument to memset() on a 33-byte stack buffer. This causes an immediate SIGSEGV in the cupsd root process. Combined with systemd's Restart=on-failure, an attacker can repeat the crash for sustained denial of service. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-13757 6.2 medium 0.00% redhat, p11-kit_project, hardened_images, openshift_container_platform, enterprise_linux A flaw was found in p11-kit. The RPC message attribute parsing functions p11_rpc_message_get_attribute() and p11_rpc_message_get_attribute_array_value() form a mutually-recursive call chain with no recursion depth limit when processing nested CKA_WRAP_TEMPLATE, CKA_UNWRAP_TEMPLATE, and CKA_DERIVE_TEMPLATE attributes. An unauthenticated attacker with local access to the p11-kit RPC Unix domain socket can send a specially crafted request with deeply nested template attributes, causing stack exhaustion and crashing the p11-kit server process and its dependent services. 14 Oct
CVE-2026-55655 6.1 medium 0.00% openbsd, redhat, openssh, enterprise_linux A flaw was found in OpenSSH. A local unprivileged attacker on a Linux client host can hijack client-side X11 forwarding connections. This is possible by pre-binding the preferred abstract X socket name when X11 forwarding is enabled and a local UNIX-domain X socket is used. A successful attack can compromise the confidentiality of forwarded X11 traffic, including sensitive window contents and input, and may allow some manipulation of the forwarded session. Mon 26 Oct

CVE-2026-65131 6.0 medium 0.00% no CPE yet NVIDIA NVSentinel for Linux contains a vulnerability in the platform-connectors component, where the gRPC health-event interface, exposed over a world-writable Unix domain socket, lacks authentication. A successful exploit of this vulnerability might lead to denial of service. 13 Oct
CVE-2026-50558 5.9 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Penelope Shell Handler is a post-exploitation shell handler for authorized security testing. Prior to 0.20.0, the Unix download() implementation in penelope.py used tar.extractall(local_download_folder) on tar archives returned by remote sessions without validating member paths, allowing a malicious or compromised session to write files outside the intended download directory and potentially overwrite ~/.penelope/peneloperc. This issue is fixed in version 0.20.0. Fri 23 Oct
CVE-2026-107382 5.9 medium 0.00% no CPE yet MariaDB Connector/Node.js is used to connect applications developed on Node.js to MariaDB and MySQL databases. From 3.3.0 until 3.5.4, the zero-configuration TLS fingerprint-validation path calls Ed25519PasswordAuth.hash() through Authentication.validateFingerPrint, but Ed25519PasswordAuth.hash() references a seed identifier that is not in scope. Exposure requires a MariaDB server reached over TCP, TLS enabled with ssl: true or an ssl object whose rejectUnauthorized value is not false, a password set, no ssl.ca configured, and client_ed25519 negotiated as the authentication plugin. Under those conditions, a legitimate server, malicious server, or network attacker presenting a self-signed certificate can reach this path and cause a synchronous ReferenceError to escape the socket data handler. Under Node.js default uncaught-exception behavior, the client process terminates, causing denial of service. Configurations using a provided CA, rejectUnauthorized: false, another authentication plugin, or a Unix socket do not reach this vulnerable path. This issue is fixed in version 3.5.4. 8 Oct
CVE-2026-6369 5.7 medium 0.00% canonical, livepatch_client An improper access control vulnerability in the canonical-livepatch snap client prior to version 10.15.0 allows a local unprivileged user to obtain a sensitive, root-level authentication token by sending an unauthenticated request to the livepatchd.sock Unix domain socket. This vulnerability is exploitable on systems where an administrator has already enabled the Livepatch client with a valid Ubuntu Pro subscription. This token allows an attacker to access Livepatch services using the victim's credentials, as well as potentially cause issues to the Livepatch server. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-55480 5.7 medium 0.00% openprinting, cups OpenPrinting CUPS is an open source printing system for Linux and other Unix-like operating systems. Prior to 2.4.20, copy_model() in scheduler/ipp.c creates a predictable TempDir/<connection-number>.ppd path in an lp-group-writable directory and opens it as root without O_EXCL or O_NOFOLLOW. Exploitation requires an lp-group process able to write that directory to predict the connection-derived name and plant a symlink before the root open, while a privileged add-printer or modify-printer operation using a model PPD triggers copy_model(). The reporter treats an existing lp foothold and the privileged operation as distinct prerequisites, while the maintainer assesses high privileges because installing the relevant filter or administering the printer requires root or print-administrator access. If the race succeeds, the root scheduler follows the symlink and truncates or overwrites a root-writable target with generated PPD data, compromising file integrity or availability. This issue is fixed in version 2.4.20. 20 Oct
CVE-2026-104029 5.5 medium 0.00% fedoraproject, redhat, sssd, openshift_container_platform, enterprise_linux A flaw was found in SSSD. A local attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted request to the autofs responder UNIX socket. Due to improper buffer offset calculation during request parsing, the service performs an out-of-bounds memory read. This flaw can cause the autofs responder process to crash, resulting in a denial of service (DoS). 22 h ago
CVE-2026-35373 5.5 medium 0.00% uutils, coreutils A logic error in the ln utility of uutils coreutils causes the program to reject source paths containing non-UTF-8 filename bytes when using target-directory forms (e.g., ln SOURCE... DIRECTORY). While GNU ln treats filenames as raw bytes and creates the links correctly, the uutils implementation enforces UTF-8 encoding, resulting in a failure to stat the file and a non-zero exit code. In environments where automated scripts or system tasks process valid but non-UTF-8 filenames common on Unix filesystems, this divergence causes the utility to fail, leading to a local denial of service for those specific operations. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-116497 5.5 medium 0.00% no CPE yet A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability was found in gssproxy. When a GSSX_INIT_SEC_CONTEXT request is received with the target_name field absent, the daemon dereferences the resulting NULL pointer and crashes. The request requires no authentication, allowing any local user to crash the gssproxy daemon via its Unix socket. The daemon does not automatically restart, resulting in a persistent denial of service that also affects dependent services such as Kerberized NFS and IdM. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-54557 5.5 medium 0.00% no CPE yet mise manages dev tools like node, python, cmake, and terraform. Prior to 2026.6.1, the mise HTTP backend builds its install symlink destination from the raw resolved version string for non-latest versions. Normal tool install paths use the sanitized version pathname, but the HTTP backend's symlink path uses the raw value. On Unix-like systems, if that version is an absolute path, PathBuf::join discards the intended mise installs root. A repository-controlled .tool-versions file can therefore make mise install create a symlink outside the mise install tree. With bin_path, the same issue can place an executable symlink under an attacker-selected absolute prefix, such as a developer-tool prefix that is later added to PATH. This vulnerability is fixed in 2026.6.1. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2025-59529 5.5 medium 0.00% avahi Avahi is a system which facilitates service discovery on a local network via the mDNS/DNS-SD protocol suite. In versions up to and including 0.9-rc5, the simple protocol server ignores the documented client limit and accepts unlimited connections, allowing for easy local DoS. Although `CLIENTS_MAX` is defined, `server_work()` unconditionally `accept()`s and `client_new()` always appends the new client and increments `n_clients`. There is no check against the limit. When client cannot be accepted as a result of maximal socket number of avahi-daemon, it logs unconditionally error per each connection. Unprivileged local users can exhaust daemon memory and file descriptors, causing a denial of service system-wide for mDNS/DNS-SD. Exhausting local file descriptors causes increased system load caused by logging errors of each of request. Overloading prevents glibc calls using nss-mdns plugins to resolve `*.local.` names and link-local addresses. As of time of publication, no known patched versions are available, but a candidate fix is available in pull request 808, and some workarounds are available. Simple clients are offered for nss-mdns package functionality. It is not possible to disable the unix socket `/run/avahi-daemon/socket`, but resolution requests received via DBus are not affected directly. Tools avahi-resolve, avahi-resolve-address and avahi-resolve-host-name are not affected, they use DBus interface. It is possible to change permissions of unix socket after avahi-daemon is started. But avahi-daemon does not provide any configuration for it. Additional access restrictions like SELinux can also prevent unwanted tools to access the socket and keep resolution working for trusted users. Fri 23 Oct
CVE-2026-18097 5.5 medium 0.00% ibm, db2 IBM Db2 11.5.0 through 11.5.9, and 12.1.0 through 12.1.5 for Linux, UNIX and Windows (includes DB2 Connect Server) could allow a local attacker to obtain sensitive information due to the logging of plain text passwords in trace files. Fri 23 Oct
CVE-2026-52928 5.5 medium 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: af_unix: Reject SIOCATMARK on non-stream sockets SIOCATMARK reports whether the receive queue is at the urgent mark for MSG_OOB. In AF_UNIX, MSG_OOB is supported only for SOCK_STREAM sockets. SOCK_DGRAM and SOCK_SEQPACKET reject MSG_OOB in sendmsg() and recvmsg(), so they should not support SIOCATMARK either. Return -EOPNOTSUPP for non-stream sockets before checking the receive queue. 15 Oct
