| CVE-2026-103975 | 6.5 medium | 1.0% | no CPE yet | Appium is a cross-platform automation framework for all kinds of apps, built on top of the W3C WebDriver protocol. Prior to 7.2.6, @appium/support ZIP extraction accepts an archive entry that creates a symbolic link to a location outside the extraction directory and then accepts a later regular-file entry whose legitimate name resolves through that link. The lexical containment check examines entry names without validating the symlink target or the real destination, so an attacker-controlled archive can write files to arbitrary locations writable by the Appium process. This is distinct from the earlier parent-directory entry-name traversal fixed in 7.0.6 because the bypass uses no parent-directory or absolute entry name. Depending on the writable destination, the arbitrary file write can overwrite configuration, startup scripts, or executables and lead to code execution. This issue is fixed in version 7.2.6. | 16 Oct |
| CVE-2026-58500 | 8.2 high | 0.00% | appium, appium-mcp | MCP Appium is an MCP server that provides AI assistants with tools to automate mobile app testing on Android and iOS. In versions prior to 1.85.10, the createLocatorGeneratorUI function interpolates attacker-controlled element attributes — text, content-desc, resource-id, and locator selector values — directly into an HTML template literal without any HTML or JavaScript context escaping. An attacker who controls the UI of the app under test can inject arbitrary HTML and JavaScript into the MCP UI resource returned by the generate_locators tool. When a victim's MCP client renders this resource, the injected script executes and can invoke arbitrary MCP tools via window.parent.postMessage, leading to unauthorized MCP tool execution such as taking screenshots, reading page source, or any other registered capability. This issue has been fixed in version 1.85.10. | Sat 24 Oct |
| CVE-2026-43910 | 8.2 high | 0.00% | appium, java-client | Appium Java Client is the Java language binding for writing Appium tests that conform to the W3C WebDriver protocol. From 8.2.1 until 10.1.1, when directConnect(true) is enabled, AppiumCommandExecutor.setDirectConnect() reads the directConnectHost, directConnectPort, and directConnectPath fields from the server's NEW_SESSION response and rebuilds the client's server URL from them, validating only that the protocol is https, with no host allowlist or IP validation; a rogue or compromised server can therefore redirect all subsequent session traffic to an arbitrary destination, enabling full interception of session traffic and a server-side request forgery pivot to internal hosts, including cloud metadata (IMDS) credential theft. This vulnerability is fixed in 10.1.1. | Sat 24 Oct |
