| CVE-2026-57193 | 6.9 medium | 2.0% | no CPE yet | Asterisk is an open source private branch exchange and telephony toolkit. Prior to Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3, the LDAP realtime driver `res_config_ldap` may permit `LDAP filter injection` through a `SIP username`, allowing an unauthenticated attacker to make arbitrary LDAP queries using carefully crafted SIP packets and disclose information. The `res_config_ldap` module must be loaded and configured to access an LDAP server, which is not the default. This issue is fixed in Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3. | Tue 27 Oct |
| CVE-2026-46512 | 9.9 critical | 1.0% | no CPE yet | Frogman provides headless PBX control through MCP and HTTP API. Prior to 1.6.2, fm_dialplan_apply accepted template parameters including greeting, dest, url, extension, code, and file, and Tools/DialplanApply.php wrote Dialplan/Templates.php output to extensions_custom.conf while only Dialplan/TemplateBase.php:38-42 sanitized contextName(), allowing a PERM_WRITE caller using confirm:true to inject arbitrary Asterisk directives such as System(), Set(SHELL(...)), Goto, or Macro. This issue is fixed in version 1.6.2. | Sat 24 Oct |
| CVE-2026-46515 | 9.3 critical | 1.0% | no CPE yet | Frogman provides headless PBX control through MCP and HTTP API. Prior to 1.6.3, PERM_READ access was sufficient to call fm_list_managers, fm_list_pinsets, fm_show_context, fm_get_mcp_config, fm_backup_status, fm_whos_calling, fm_run_saved_query, and fm_diagnose_trunk, exposing AMI manager secrets, outbound dial PINs, full Asterisk dialplan context, root SSH connection commands, backup artifact paths, CDR history, arbitrary saved GraphQL query execution, and raw AMI endpoint dumps containing SIP fields such as password, md5_cred, and oauth_secret. This issue is fixed in version 1.6.3. | Sat 24 Oct |
| CVE-2026-54674 | 8.6 high | 1.0% | sangoma, freepbx | FreePBX is an open source IP PBX. Prior to versions 16.0.39 and 17.0.7, users authenticated via User Control Panel (UCP) are able to execute arbitrary commands on the PBX as the webserver user (typically asterisk) using specially crafted HTTP strings. Authenticated access to UCP is required. Note that this is often more common for less-privileged users to have UCP access vs. the Administrator Control Panel (ACP) access (which is usually FreePBX higher-level administrator accounts only). Insufficient sanitization of certain URL parameters utilized by UCP did not fully account for malicious strings in these fields. This could result in binaries being executed on the host server by carefully chaining commands. This issue has been patched in versions 16.0.39 and 17.0.7. | 16 Oct |
| CVE-2026-75600 | 8.6 high | 1.0% | sangoma, freepbx | FreePBX is an open source IP PBX. Prior to version 17.0.9, authenticated users who are authorized to access the GraphQL api module interface of FreePBX are able to execute arbitrary shell commands. Authenticated access to the api module is required. The PBX API module's documentation generator accepts an authenticated host parameter and uses it to build a shell command. The code path validates the generated OAuth access token before execution, but it does not validate or escape host. Compromise results in authenticated arbitrary shell command execution as the FreePBX web/PBX service user (typically asterisk.). This issue has been patched in version 17.0.9. | 16 Oct |
| CVE-2025-59051 | 8.6 high | 1.0% | no CPE yet | The FreePBX Endpoint Manager module includes a Network Scanning feature that provides web-based access to nmap functionality for network device discovery. In Endpoint Manager 16 before 16.0.92 and 17 before 17.0.6, insufficiently sanitized user-supplied input allows authenticated OS command execution as the asterisk user. Authentication with a known username is required. Updating to Endpoint Manager 16.0.92 or 17.0.6 addresses the issue. | 8 Oct |
| CVE-2026-57191 | 8.2 high | 1.0% | no CPE yet | Asterisk is an open source private branch exchange and telephony toolkit. Prior to Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3, an unbounded `sscanf` in `res_pjsip_pubsub` when parsing the `MWI NOTIFY` `Message-Account` field may allow an unauthenticated attacker to send a carefully crafted packet that causes a stack buffer overflow and corrupts the underlying transport, permanently disabling all SIP functionality. An Asterisk restart is required to restore full operation. This issue is fixed in Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3. | Wed 28 Oct |
| CVE-2026-57197 | 7.7 high | 1.0% | no CPE yet | Asterisk is an open source private branch exchange and telephony toolkit. Prior to Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3, an unbounded `memcpy` of `OGG/Speex` packet data in `format_ogg_speex` can cause a heap buffer overflow and crash Asterisk when reading a file containing corrupted Speex audio. The attacker must create the file and make it available to Asterisk either through sufficiently elevated privileges or by convincing an Asterisk administrator to make it available. Asterisk must also be configured to play that file. This issue is fixed in Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3. | Wed 28 Oct |
| CVE-2026-73662 | 7.6 high | 1.0% | sangoma, freepbx | FreePBX is an open source IP PBX. From 17.0.1 until 17.0.7, the FreePBX Music on Hold module permits dangerous command-line options for /usr/bin/mpg123 and other allowed players in validateCustomConfiguration() in Music.class.php. An authenticated administrator can use options that write files, open control channels, or create Asterisk call files because applicationUsesDisallowedPlayerOption() does not reject those arguments, resulting in arbitrary command execution as the asterisk service user. This issue is fixed in version 17.0.7. | 9 Oct |
| CVE-2026-57186 | 7.5 high | 1.0% | no CPE yet | Asterisk is an open source private branch exchange and telephony toolkit. From 21.0.0-pre1 until Asterisk 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 22.8-cert3, the `chan_ooh323` `Q.931 party-number parser` lacks the `CVE-2022-37325` fix because that fix was never forward-ported from Asterisk 20 to later versions. Malformed Q.931 elements in an `OOH323 request` can therefore crash Asterisk. This issue affects Asterisk versions greater than 20. The `chan_ooh323` addon channel driver must be explicitly compiled and installed, which is not the default, and its port must be publicly reachable. This issue is fixed in Asterisk 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 22.8-cert3. | Wed 28 Oct |
| CVE-2026-57201 | 7.5 high | 1.0% | no CPE yet | Asterisk is an open source private branch exchange and telephony toolkit. Prior to Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3, a stack buffer overflow in the H.323 `ooTrace()` trace-logging function can occur when unbounded `vsprintf` writes into a fixed `2048-byte buffer`. A remote attacker may send a carefully crafted packet that causes the Asterisk process to crash. The `chan_ooh323` addon channel driver must be explicitly compiled and installed, which is not the default, and its port must be publicly reachable. This issue is fixed in Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3. | Wed 28 Oct |
| CVE-2026-57195 | 7.5 high | 1.0% | no CPE yet | Asterisk is an open source private branch exchange and telephony toolkit. Prior to Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3, a NULL pointer dereference in the `Asterisk Manager Interface (AMI)` may allow an unauthenticated attacker to crash Asterisk when `Digest Authentication` is used via `HTTP`. The Asterisk `HTTP` web server, AMI, and AMI access via `HTTP` must all be enabled; each is disabled by default. The attacker must be able to connect to the `HTTP` server, which binds only to `127.0.0.1` by default even when enabled. This issue is fixed in Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3. | Wed 28 Oct |
| CVE-2026-57200 | 7.5 high | 1.0% | no CPE yet | Asterisk is an open source private branch exchange and telephony toolkit. Prior to Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 22.8-cert3, an authenticated attacker with read-only permissions for the `Asterisk REST Interface (ARI)` may, under certain conditions, execute write operations through `REST-over-WebSocket`. The authorization bypass permits `arbitrary module path` loading and conditional remote code execution. The Asterisk HTTP web server must be enabled and reachable, and the attacker must already have valid `read-only ARI credentials`. HTTP is disabled by default and binds only to 127.0.0.1 by default even when enabled. This issue is fixed in Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 22.8-cert3. | Wed 28 Oct |
| CVE-2026-59925 | 7.5 high | 1.0% | mistune_project, mistune | Mistune is a Python Markdown parser with renderers and plugins. Prior to 3.3.0, long sequences of well-formed double-asterisk or triple-asterisk emphasis pairs around a character cause quadratic work in src/mistune/inline_parser.py because the parser scans forward for matching close markers from every potential opening run, allowing denial of service in default Mistune parsing. This issue is fixed in version 3.3.0. | Sun 25 Oct |
| CVE-2026-73660 | 7.5 high | 1.0% | no CPE yet | FreePBX is an open source IP PBX. Prior to 16.0.6 and 17.0.5.4, the FreePBX Text-To-Speech module allows an authenticated administrator to save a TTS destination name that is HTML-encoded for storage, decoded during dialplan generation, passed as an AGI argument, and used to build filenames inside agi-bin/propolys-tts.agi. The TTS destination name reaches a raw shell-command execution path, allowing arbitrary operating-system command execution as the asterisk service user. This issue is fixed in versions 16.0.6 and 17.0.5.4. | Sat 24 Oct |
| CVE-2026-57188 | 7.1 high | 1.0% | no CPE yet | Asterisk is an open source private branch exchange and telephony toolkit. Prior to Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3, an authenticated attacker may cause a stack buffer overflow in `res_xmpp` `XMPP namespace prefix` handling using carefully crafted packets. The `res_xmpp` module must be loaded, an XMPP connection must be configured in `xmpp.conf`, and the attacker must have an XMPP account on the same or a federated server. This issue is fixed in Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3. | Wed 28 Oct |
| CVE-2026-57190 | 7.0 high | 1.0% | no CPE yet | Asterisk is an open source private branch exchange and telephony toolkit. Prior to Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3, the `PostgreSQL` and `TDS/MSSQL` Channel Event Log backends `cel_pgsql` and `cel_tds` may permit arbitrary SQL execution when untrusted data is set in the CEL `eventtype` column by the `CELGenUserEvent` dialplan application. The `cel_pgsql` or `cel_tds` backend must be loaded and configured, and the administrator must call `CELGenUserEvent` in the dialplan without ensuring that only valid data is passed to the application. This issue is fixed in Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3. | Wed 28 Oct |
| CVE-2026-57184 | 6.3 medium | 1.0% | no CPE yet | Asterisk is an open source private branch exchange and telephony toolkit. Prior to Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3, insufficient bounds checking in the `chan_ooh323` `Q.931` `information-element parser` permits an `out-of-bounds read` that may allow an unauthenticated attacker to crash Asterisk using carefully crafted `setup packets`. | Thu 29 Oct |
| CVE-2026-57192 | 6.0 medium | 1.0% | no CPE yet | Asterisk is an open source private branch exchange and telephony toolkit. Prior to Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3, an authenticated attacker may cause a heap buffer overflow through an out-of-bounds write in the `Codec2` decoder caused by a `floor/ceil sample-count mismatch`. The `codec_codec2` module must be loaded and `Codec2` must be configured on the attacked endpoint. The attacker must pass SIP authentication by username/password or `source IP address matching`, establish a call using `Codec2`, and send carefully crafted `Codec2` audio packets. This issue is fixed in Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3. | Wed 28 Oct |
| CVE-2026-57189 | 2.3 low | 1.0% | no CPE yet | Asterisk is an open source private branch exchange and telephony toolkit. In affected deployments, an authenticated attacker may cause a `T.140 RED` out-of-bounds write during `generation accumulation` using carefully crafted packets, potentially allowing remote code execution or causing Asterisk to crash. The `chan_sip` channel driver must be installed and configured, and its `textsupport` option must be enabled; `textsupport` defaults to no. `The chan_sip driver was deprecated in Asterisk 20 and completely removed in all later versions.` Repository comparisons verify patch containment in Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1 and 23.4.1, and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11 and 22.8-cert3. The affected release-track scope remains unresolved: structured metadata includes later release tracks even though the advisory says the required `chan_sip` driver was removed there. | Wed 28 Oct |
| CVE-2026-57198 | 2.3 low | 1.0% | no CPE yet | Asterisk is an open source private branch exchange and telephony toolkit. In affected deployments, an authenticated attacker may cause a `T.140 RED` heap buffer overflow using carefully crafted packets, potentially allowing remote code execution or causing Asterisk to crash.
| CVE-2026-57196 | 2.3 low | 1.0% | no CPE yet | Asterisk is an open source private branch exchange and telephony toolkit. Prior to Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3, an unauthenticated attacker may use reflected cross-site scripting in `phone provisioning HTTP error pages` to retrieve an authorized user's `AMI session cookie` and impersonate that user when `res_phoneprov` is enabled. The Asterisk HTTP web server, Asterisk Manager Interface (AMI), and AMI access via HTTP must all be enabled; each is disabled by default. The attacker must be able to connect to the HTTP server, which binds only to `127.0.0.1` by default even when enabled, and must convince the authorized user to click a malicious link. This issue is fixed in Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3. | Tue 27 Oct |
| CVE-2026-73665 | 9.3 critical | 0.00% | sangoma, freepbx | FreePBX is an open source IP PBX. Prior to 17.0.9, the UCP Node server on ports 8001 and 8003 uses io.use(checkAuth) in node/lib/server.js, but Socket.IO version 4 applies that middleware only to the default namespace. An unauthenticated client can connect to custom namespaces that do not consistently invoke checkAuth in node/lib/auth.js and send crafted event values containing carriage-return or newline characters through the Asterisk Manager Interface action path patched by node/lib/asterisk-manager-patch.js, allowing arbitrary commands to execute as the asterisk service user. This issue is fixed in version 17.0.9. | 9 Oct |
| CVE-2025-59429 | 8.5 high | 0.00% | sangoma, freepbx | FreePBX is an open source GUI for managing Asterisk. In versions prior to 16.0.68.39 for FreePBX 16 and versions prior to 17.0.18.38 for FreePBX 17, a reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability is present on the Asterisk HTTP Status page. The Asterisk HTTP status page is exposed by FreePBX and is available by default on version 16 via any bound IP address at port 8088. By default on version 17, the binding is only to localhost IP, making it significantly less vulnerable. The vulnerability can be exploited by unauthenticated attackers to obtain cookies from logged-in users, allowing them to hijack a session of an administrative user. The theft of admin session cookies allows attackers to gain control over the FreePBX admin interface, enabling them to access sensitive data, modify system configurations, create backdoor accounts, and cause service disruption. This issue has been patched in version 16.0.68.39 for FreePBX 16 and version 17.0.18.38 for FreePBX 17. | 8 Oct |
| CVE-2026-57202 | 8.1 high | 0.00% | no CPE yet | Asterisk is an open source private branch exchange and telephony toolkit. Prior to Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3, an authenticated Asterisk REST Interface (ARI) attacker with read-only privileges may use `setChannelVar` to execute write dialplan functions, including `FILE()` writes, even when `live_dangerously` in `asterisk.conf` is set to no. The Asterisk HTTP web server must be enabled and reachable, and the attacker must already have valid `read-only ARI credentials`. HTTP is disabled by default and binds only to 127.0.0.1 by default even when enabled. This issue is fixed in Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3. | Wed 28 Oct |
| CVE-2026-45562 | 7.7 high | 0.00% | sangoma, freepbx | FreePBX is an open source IP PBX. Prior to versions 16.0.4 and 17.0.6, the FreePBX Music on Hold (MoH) module contains a critical security flaw that allows authenticated attackers to execute arbitrary system commands with the privileges of the Asterisk service. Authentication with an existing FreePBX administrator account is required. The root cause lies in the fact that the module accepts a POST parameter that defines a custom Asterisk application, which is then stored in the database without any sanitization. Later, this data is written directly to the musiconhold_additional.conf configuration file without validation. Since Asterisk reads this configuration file and executes the specified application, an attacker can inject arbitrary commands that will be executed with Asterisk's permissions. This issue has been patched in versions 16.0.4 and 17.0.6. | 16 Oct |
| CVE-2026-57231 | 7.5 high | 0.00% | podman_project, podman | Podman is a tool for managing OCI containers and pods. From 1.8.1 until 5.8.4, a container image that contains a environment variable with just a key and no value can trick podman into passing that variable from the host into the container. This is made worse by the fact that using an asterisk (*) will cause podman to pass all host variables into the container. So essentially a malicious image can exfiltrate all podman environment variables that are set in the session from where the container is launched. This vulnerability is fixed in 5.8.4 and 6.0.0. | Sun 25 Oct |
| CVE-2026-76098 | 7.5 high | 0.00% | no CPE yet | Mistune is a Python Markdown parser with renderers and plugins. Versions 3.3.0 through 3.3.2 are vulnerable to DoS through deeply nested tokens. HTML rendering creates deeply nested emphasis tokens from consecutive asterisk characters, and recursive rendering in HTMLRenderer.render_token() can exceed Python's recursion limit and raise RecursionError, allowing crafted Markdown to crash a parsing process. This issue is fixed in version 3.3.3 | 12 Oct |
| CVE-2026-57187 | 7.1 high | 0.00% | no CPE yet | Asterisk is an open source private branch exchange and telephony toolkit. Prior to Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3, an authenticated attacker may cause a heap-use-after-free in `PJSIP TCP/SDP` handling by sending a `SIP INVITE` over a connection-oriented transport and disconnecting before Asterisk responds with the `200 OK`. So far, the crash has only been reproduced when Asterisk is built with `Address Sanitizer`, which detects the issue. `Address Sanitizer` is a development tool with significant performance overhead and, according to the maintainer, is not used in production systems. This issue is fixed in Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3. | Tue 27 Oct |
| CVE-2025-1131 | 7.0 high | 0.00% | sangoma, asterisk, certified_asterisk | A local privilege escalation vulnerability exists in the safe_asterisk script included with the Asterisk toolkit package. When Asterisk is started via this script (common in SysV init or FreePBX environments), it sources all .sh files located in /etc/asterisk/startup.d/ as root, without validating ownership or permissions. Non-root users with legitimate write access to /etc/asterisk can exploit this behaviour by placing malicious scripts in the startup.d directory, which will then execute with root privileges upon service restart. | 19 Oct |
| CVE-2026-57203 | 6.9 medium | 0.00% | no CPE yet | Asterisk is an open source private branch exchange and telephony toolkit. Prior to Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3, `ast_loggrabber` executes a `Python script` from the world-writable `/tmp` directory. An attacker already authorized to open a shell session on the Asterisk server may place a malicious script there and gain elevated privileges or execute code when an administrator runs `ast_loggrabber` as a user with elevated privileges. This issue is fixed in Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3. | 14 h ago |
| CVE-2026-57185 | 6.5 medium | 0.00% | no CPE yet | Asterisk is an open source private branch exchange and telephony toolkit. Prior to Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3, an authenticated attacker may crash Asterisk through a buffer over-read in the `PJSIP MWI body parser` by sending a carefully crafted `SIP NOTIFY` request. The attacker must pass SIP authentication using either a username/password or `source IP address matching`. This issue is fixed in Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3. | Wed 28 Oct |
| CVE-2026-57194 | 5.9 medium | 0.00% | no CPE yet | Asterisk is an open source private branch exchange and telephony toolkit. Prior to Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3, an out-of-bounds write in `chan_unistim` `DIALPAGE` digit handling can overflow the `phone_number` field and crash Asterisk when an attacker sends a carefully crafted incoming request packet. The `chan_unistim` module must be loaded and configured with a valid `UNISTIM UDP port` that the attacker can reach. The attacker must register as a configured `phone MAC`, or the deployment must have an equivalent `production/autoprovisioning` path that allows the client to reach the main page. This issue is fixed in Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3. | Wed 28 Oct |
| CVE-2026-57199 | 2.3 low | 0.00% | no CPE yet | Asterisk is an open source private branch exchange and telephony toolkit. Prior to Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3, `app_sms.c` copies externally controlled `SMS` lengths into `fixed in-struct buffers` without sufficient bounds checks, allowing an attacker to corrupt memory or crash Asterisk. The administrator must explicitly use the `SMS` dialplan application, which is useful when routing calls to or from `analog devices`, and must not have ensured that data passed to the application is valid. This issue is fixed in Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3. | Wed 28 Oct |
| CVE-2026-6907 | 2.3 low | 0.00% | djangoproject, django | An issue was discovered in 6.0 before 6.0.5 and 5.2 before 5.2.14. `django.middleware.cache.UpdateCacheMiddleware` erroneously caches requests where the `Vary` header contained an asterisk (`'*'`). This can lead to private data being stored and served. Earlier, unsupported Django series (such as 5.0.x, 4.1.x, and 3.2.x) were not evaluated and may also be affected. Django would like to thank Ahmad Sadeddin for reporting this issue. | Mon 26 Oct |
| CVE-2026-84747 | unscored | 0.00% | no CPE yet | Interpretation conflict in the HTTP protocol implementation in Apache bRPC (version < 1.18.0) on all platforms allows remote attackers to bypass access control rules enforced by a front proxy. Root Cause: The method dispatch function FindMethodPropertyByURI() in bRPC's HTTP protocol splits the request path with a string splitter that skips empty fields, so paths containing empty path segments (consecutive slashes), such as //flags, /flags// and /flags//port, are dispatched to the same method as their collapsed form /flags. Per RFC 3986 these are distinct paths. A front proxy that enforces an ACL (e.g. blocking access to builtin services such as /flags) matches the collapsed form only, and therefore forwards the padded literal to the bRPC server, where it is dispatched as if it were the collapsed form. This differential allows //flags?setvalue= to reach a builtin service that /flags is not allowed to reach. Additionally, the HTTP/2 implementation never validated the :path pseudo-header, so requests without a :path, or with a :path that neither begins with '/' nor is the asterisk-form '*', contrary to RFC 9113 section 8.3.1, were not rejected. Affected Scenarios: Deployments of Apache bRPC behind a front proxy or gateway that performs access control (ACL) decisions on the literal request path, where the bRPC server accepts HTTP or HTTP/2 traffic from that proxy. In such deployments an attacker can send a path containing empty path segments to reach a resource that the front proxy intended to block. How to Fix: (Choose one of the following options) 1. Upgrade bRPC to version 1.18.0, which fixes this issue. 2. Apply this patch: https://github.com/apache/brpc/pull/3512 Note: After applying the fix, HTTP and HTTP/2 request paths containing empty path segments (consecutive slashes) are rejected by default, and HTTP/2 :path values that are empty or neither begin with '/' nor equal '*' are rejected. Deployments that depend on the previous lenient behavior can restore it by turning on the gflag -http_allow_empty_path_segments, which is not recommended for servers exposed to untrusted traffic. | Mon 26 Oct |
