CVE-2016-3189 6.5 medium 16.0% bzip, python, bzip2 Use-after-free vulnerability in bzip2recover in bzip2 1.0.6 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a crafted bzip2 file, related to block ends set to before the start of the block. 14 Oct
CVE-2019-12900 9.8 critical 8.0% bzip, debian, bzip2, debian_linux, leap BZ2_decompress in decompress.c in bzip2 through 1.0.6 has an out-of-bounds write when there are many selectors. 14 Oct
CVE-2021-37136 7.5 high 6.0% netty, quarkus, banking_apis The Bzip2 decompression decoder function doesn't allow setting size restrictions on the decompressed output data (which affects the allocation size used during decompression). All users of Bzip2Decoder are affected. The malicious input can trigger an OOME and so a DoS attack 8 Oct
CVE-2026-106565 7.5 high 0.00% imagemagick ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to 7.1.2-32 and 6.9.13-57, a missing end-of-file check while reading bzip2-compressed image data can cause an infinite loop and exhaust processing resources. This issue is fixed in versions 7.1.2-32 and 6.9.13-57. 22 Oct
CVE-2026-116149 7.2 high 0.00% no CPE yet ImageMagick before 6.9.13-58 and 7.x before 7.1.2-33 contains a stack-based buffer overflow in the handling of bzip2 compressed images. Attackers can supply a crafted image using bzip2 compression to overwrite stack memory during decoding, causing crashes or memory corruption. 3 h ago
CVE-2026-116579 5.9 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Autobahn Python is a WebSocket and WAMP implementation for Python that supports Twisted and asyncio. From 26.7.1 until 26.10.1, PerMessageBrotli.decompress_message_data in compress_brotli.py calls the Brotli decompressor without an output limit and checks maxMessagePayloadSize only after a complete frame has been inflated. An unauthenticated WebSocket client can send a small, highly compressed frame that allocates hundreds of MiB before rejection, causing memory-exhaustion denial of service on servers that enable the opt-in permessage-brotli feature through the compress extra. Deflate and bzip2 already enforce the remaining output budget and are outside this residual vulnerability. This issue is fixed in version 26.10.1. Tue 27 Oct
