CVE-2020-1712exploit 7.8 high 0.00% systemd_project, redhat, systemd, ceph_storage, discovery A heap use-after-free vulnerability was found in systemd before version v245-rc1, where asynchronous Polkit queries are performed while handling dbus messages. A local unprivileged attacker can abuse this flaw to crash systemd services or potentially execute code and elevate their privileges, by sending specially crafted dbus messages. 14 Oct
CVE-2023-34969 6.5 medium 2.0% freedesktop, fedoraproject, dbus, fedora, debian_linux D-Bus before 1.15.6 sometimes allows unprivileged users to crash dbus-daemon. If a privileged user with control over the dbus-daemon is using the org.freedesktop.DBus.Monitoring interface to monitor message bus traffic, then an unprivileged user with the ability to connect to the same dbus-daemon can cause a dbus-daemon crash under some circumstances via an unreplyable message. When done on the well-known system bus, this is a denial-of-service vulnerability. The fixed versions are 1.12.28, 1.14.8, and 1.15.6. 15 Oct
CVE-2026-58016 9.1 critical 1.0% gnome, redhat, glib, enterprise_linux A flaw was found in GLib. A state confusion issue exists in g_dbus_node_info_new_for_xml() in the gio/gdbusintrospection.c file when processing malformed D-Bus introspection XML, specifically with a `node` element nested within other elements like `method`, `signal`, `property` or `arg`. This issue can cause an unsigned integer overflow and lead to an out-of-bounds read, resulting in a denial of service. 14 Oct
CVE-2026-58015 7.5 high 1.0% gnome, redhat, glib, enterprise_linux A flaw was found in GLib. The D-Bus client-side implementation of the DBUS_COOKIE_SHA1 SASL authentication mechanism does not validate the cookie_context parameter received from the server. A malicious D-Bus server can supply a cookie_context containing path traversal sequences, causing the client to read an arbitrary file and exfiltrate sensitive data by verifying guessed file contents against a generated hash. 22 Oct
CVE-2026-94422 8.7 high 0.00% no CPE yet An incorrect implementation of message filtering in xdg-dbus-proxy versions before 0.1.9 allows an attacker to bypass the intended message filtering on the D-Bus session bus by setting a reply serial number on non-reply messages. A malicious or compromised Flatpak app could use this to achieve arbitrary code execution outside its sandbox. xdg-dbus-proxy was designed to be part of the sandbox boundary for Flatpak, but it is released as a separate project and is sometimes used by other app frameworks such as Firejail. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2026-41049 8.4 high 0.00% presire, qsnapper Incorrect caching of authentication between different users of the qSnapper dbus service before version 1.3.3 allowed any local attacker to use dbus functions after a privileged users has authenticated for them. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2026-96424 7.8 high 0.00% no CPE yet Incorrect DBus policy for lomiri-upload-manager (part of lomiri-download-manager) allows arbitrary user to read arbitrary file as root over DBus 18 Oct
CVE-2026-39959 7.1 high 0.00% no CPE yet Tmds.DBus provides .NET libraries for working with D-Bus from .NET. Tmds.DBus and Tmds.DBus.Protocol are vulnerable to malicious D-Bus peers. A peer on the same bus can spoof signals by impersonating the owner of a well-known name, exhaust system resources or cause file descriptor spillover by sending messages with an excessive number of Unix file descriptors, and crash the application by sending malformed message bodies that cause unhandled exceptions on the SynchronizationContext. This vulnerability is fixed in Tmds.DBus 0.92.0 and Tmds.DBus.Protocol 0.92.0 and 0.21.3. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-47128 6.1 medium 0.00% no CPE yet nono is software that allows users to run AI agents in a zero-latency sandbox. Prior to version 0.55.0, the nono Landlock/seccomp policies allow access to local Unix domain sockets (concrete and abstract). This allows an easy sandbox escape by talking to the per-user systemd dbus socket. Version 0.55.0 patches the issue. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2023-38471 5.5 medium 0.00% avahi, redhat, enterprise_linux A vulnerability was found in Avahi. A reachable assertion exists in the dbus_set_host_name function. Wed 28 Oct
CVE-2025-59529 5.5 medium 0.00% avahi Avahi is a system which facilitates service discovery on a local network via the mDNS/DNS-SD protocol suite. In versions up to and including 0.9-rc5, the simple protocol server ignores the documented client limit and accepts unlimited connections, allowing for easy local DoS. Although `CLIENTS_MAX` is defined, `server_work()` unconditionally `accept()`s and `client_new()` always appends the new client and increments `n_clients`. There is no check against the limit. When client cannot be accepted as a result of maximal socket number of avahi-daemon, it logs unconditionally error per each connection. Unprivileged local users can exhaust daemon memory and file descriptors, causing a denial of service system-wide for mDNS/DNS-SD. Exhausting local file descriptors causes increased system load caused by logging errors of each of request. Overloading prevents glibc calls using nss-mdns plugins to resolve `*.local.` names and link-local addresses. As of time of publication, no known patched versions are available, but a candidate fix is available in pull request 808, and some workarounds are available. Simple clients are offered for nss-mdns package functionality. It is not possible to disable the unix socket `/run/avahi-daemon/socket`, but resolution requests received via DBus are not affected directly. Tools avahi-resolve, avahi-resolve-address and avahi-resolve-host-name are not affected, they use DBus interface. It is possible to change permissions of unix socket after avahi-daemon is started. But avahi-daemon does not provide any configuration for it. Additional access restrictions like SELinux can also prevent unwanted tools to access the socket and keep resolution working for trusted users. Fri 23 Oct
CVE-2026-96425 5.5 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Incorrect DBus policy for lomiri-download-manager allows arbitrary user to run arbitrary command as root over DBus 18 Oct
CVE-2023-54226 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: af_unix: Fix data races around sk->sk_shutdown. KCSAN found a data race around sk->sk_shutdown where unix_release_sock() and unix_shutdown() update it under unix_state_lock(), OTOH unix_poll() and unix_dgram_poll() read it locklessly.
