| CVE-2026-91159exploit | 7.7 high | 0.00% | no CPE yet | Discourse is an open-source discussion platform. Prior to 2026.9.0, 2026.8.1, 2026.7.3, and 2026.1.9, oEmbed processing treated an entire attacker-controlled HTML fragment as trusted when the fragment contained an iframe whose source matched the configured allowlist. A user with posting permission who controlled a public webpage and its oEmbed response could combine an allowlisted iframe with unrelated sibling HTML or CSS, causing stored visual overlays or other styled content to appear in post content and enabling misleading or fraudulent user interfaces. Exploitation requires a posting account, control of the fetched webpage and oEmbed response, and an allowlisted iframe source. The issue affects content integrity but does not expose restricted data, disrupt availability, or require interaction with Discourse Content Security Policy. This issue is fixed in versions 2026.9.0, 2026.8.1, 2026.7.3, and 2026.1.9. | 20 Oct |
| CVE-2026-55103 | 8.6 high | 0.00% | no CPE yet | Discourse ActivityPub adds ActivityPub support to Discourse. Prior to commit 1c8518b0f2abdf31cbea3e0b242f74d8994a9ba5, inbound ActivityPub processing does not sufficiently verify that the actor authenticated by the signed request matches the Activity actor and owns the referenced federated post. A remote attacker can exploit these missing identity and ownership checks to edit, delete, or reply to federated posts without the required permissions. This vulnerability is fixed with commit 1c8518b0f2abdf31cbea3e0b242f74d8994a9ba5. | Wed 28 Oct |
| CVE-2026-91157 | 7.5 high | 0.00% | no CPE yet | Discourse is an open-source discussion platform. Prior to 2026.9.0, 2026.8.1, 2026.7.3, and 2026.1.9, sites with secure uploads enabled did not reconcile existing upload security metadata when a previously public category became read-restricted or when category permissions changed during a bulk import. Media and attachments uploaded while the category was public retained a public accessibility flag and remained reachable by anonymous users through their short upload URLs, including uploads associated with deleted topics. This issue is fixed in versions 2026.9.0, 2026.8.1, 2026.7.3, and 2026.1.9. | 20 Oct |
| CVE-2026-91156 | 7.5 high | 0.00% | no CPE yet | Discourse is an open-source discussion platform. Prior to 2026.9.0, 2026.8.1, 2026.7.3, and 2026.1.9, MessageBus audience calculation could deliver messages from a read-restricted category chat channel to an authenticated user who could view the category but was not allowed to use Chat under the site's group restrictions. The publication path bounded events by category visibility without also enforcing Chat eligibility, exposing live and recent message content available in the MessageBus backlog. The issue does not permit retrieval of the channel's full history through the Chat API and does not permit message creation or modification. This issue is fixed in versions 2026.9.0, 2026.8.1, 2026.7.3, and 2026.1.9. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2025-61598 | 6.3 medium | 0.00% | discourse | Discourse is an open source discussion platform. Version before 3.6.2 and 3.6.0.beta2, default Cache-Control response header with value no-store, no-cache was missing from error responses. This may caused unintended caching of those responses by proxies potentially leading to cache poisoning attacks. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.6.2 and 3.6.0.beta2. | 19 Oct |
| CVE-2025-59337 | 5.5 medium | 0.00% | discourse | Discourse is an open-source community discussion platform. In versions 3.5.0 and below, malicious meta-commands could be embedded in a backup dump and executed during restore. In multisite setups, this allowed an admin of one site to access data or credentials from other sites. This issue is fixed in version 3.5.1. | 19 Oct |
| CVE-2025-58054 | 5.4 medium | 0.00% | discourse | Discourse is an open-source community discussion platform. Versions 3.5.0 and below are vulnerable to XSS attacks through parsing and rendering of chat channel titles and chat thread titles via the quote message functionality when using the rich text editor. This issue is fixed in version 3.5.1. | 19 Oct |
| CVE-2017-20290 | 5.1 medium | 0.00% | no CPE yet | Discourse 1.9.0.beta2 before 1.9.0.beta13 contains a reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to inject scripts through the email parameter of /email/unsubscribed. Attackers can craft GET requests with SVG onload payloads, which unsubscribed.html.erb renders unescaped via html_safe, executing JavaScript in victims' browsers. Exploitation evidence was first observed by the Shadowserver Foundation on 2023-10-19. | 22 Oct |
| CVE-2025-58055 | 4.3 medium | 0.00% | discourse | Discourse is an open-source community discussion platform. In versions 3.5.0 and below, the Discourse AI suggestion endpoints for topic “Title”, “Category”, and “Tags” allowed authenticated users to extract information about topics that they weren’t authorized to access. By modifying the “topic_id” value in API requests to the AI suggestion endpoints, users could target specific restricted topics. The AI model’s responses then disclosed information that the authenticated user couldn’t normally access. This issue is fixed in version 3.5.1. To workaround this issue, users can restrict group access to the AI helper feature through the "composer_ai_helper_allowed_groups" and "post_ai_helper_allowed_groups" site settings. | 19 Oct |
| CVE-2025-11983 | 4.3 medium | 0.00% | no CPE yet | The WP Discourse plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Information Exposure in all versions up to, and including, 2.5.9. This is due to the plugin unconditionally sending Discourse API credentials (Api-Key and Api-Username headers) to any host specified in a post's discourse_permalink custom field during comment synchronization. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with author-level access and above, to exfiltrate sensitive Discourse API credentials to attacker-controlled servers, as well as query internal services and potentially perform further attacks. | 18 Oct |
| CVE-2026-57447 | 4.3 medium | 0.00% | no CPE yet | Discourse Doc Categories is a plugin for organizing Discourse topics as documentation. Prior to the verified source fix, the doc category index refresh resolves linked titles for private messages or restricted category topics without enforcing the viewer's authorization. A user who can edit the index topic can use this behavior to learn titles that the user is not authorized to view, although the advisory does not establish access to topic contents. This vulnerability is addressed by commit b15d4de02ad29d7c9525346afee51fef4a2c605a. | 16 Oct |
