| CVE-2026-92162exploit | 7.2 high | 0.00% | no CPE yet | Flatpak is a system for building, distributing, and running sandboxed desktop applications on Linux. Prior to version 1.18.1, on systems where at least one OCI remote is configured (most common on Fedora systems), a malicious local user in an active local session could use a crafted architecture name to trick the `flatpak-system-helper` process into creating a root-owned directory tree with contents determined by the OCI remote, plus a root-owned `lock` file and `icons` directory, outside the intended root directory. If this vulnerability is combined with other vulnerabilities also fixed in 1.18.1, the combination can lead to local root privilege escalation. This particular vulnerability is not believed to be exploitable if there are no OCI remotes configured (common on non-Fedora systems). Version 1.18.1 patches the issue. | 20 Oct |
| CVE-2026-96275 | 8.8 high | 1.0% | no CPE yet | A malicious or compromised Flatpak repository can write attacker-controlled content to arbitrary locations on the host filesystem via extract_extra_data(). On system installs, the write happens as root. Two issues combine: `files/extra` is resolved via path operations that follow symlinks, and blob names from `xa.extra-data-sources` are not sanitized against `..` traversal. | Mon 26 Oct |
| CVE-2026-96280 | 7.5 high | 1.0% | no CPE yet | The OCI delta stream parser read sizes as guint64 but passed them to GLib I/O and allocation functions expecting gsize (32 bits on 32-bit systems), causing undersized allocations while subsequent operations use the original 64-bit size, leading to heap buffer overflows. An attacker controlling an OCI registry can craft a delta stream that triggers this during flatpak install/update, potentially achieving code execution on 32-bit systems. | Tue 27 Oct |
| CVE-2026-94422 | 8.7 high | 0.00% | no CPE yet | An incorrect implementation of message filtering in xdg-dbus-proxy versions before 0.1.9 allows an attacker to bypass the intended message filtering on the D-Bus session bus by setting a reply serial number on non-reply messages. A malicious or compromised Flatpak app could use this to achieve arbitrary code execution outside its sandbox. xdg-dbus-proxy was designed to be part of the sandbox boundary for Flatpak, but it is released as a separate project and is sometimes used by other app frameworks such as Firejail. | 24 Oct |
| CVE-2026-86320 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | no CPE yet | A flaw was found in flatpak-builder where Git hooks are not disabled when applying patch sources with use-git-am: true. An attacker who can provide a malicious source containing a Git post-applypatch hook can cause the hook to execute on the host during the build process, resulting in arbitrary code execution with the privileges of the user running flatpak-builder. | Wed 28 Oct |
| CVE-2026-97024 | 7.1 high | 0.00% | no CPE yet | A path traversal vulnerability in Flatpak's handling of the files/etc directory during app deployment allows a malicious Flatpak app to cause certain host system files (such as passwd, group, machine-id, or resolv.conf) to be emptied or replaced with a symlink when the app is installed or upgraded. In system-wide installations, the write is performed as root. | Mon 26 Oct |
| CVE-2026-97023 | 7.1 high | 0.00% | no CPE yet | A path traversal vulnerability in Flatpak's handling of the export/bin directory during app deployment allows a malicious Flatpak app to cause deletion of attacker-chosen files outside the deployment directory when the app is installed or upgraded. In system-wide installations, the deletion is performed as root. | Mon 26 Oct |
| CVE-2026-39977 | 7.1 high | 0.00% | flatpak, flatpak-builder | flatpak-builder is a tool to build flatpaks from source. From 1.4.5 to before 1.4.8, the license-files manifest key takes an array of paths to user defined licence files relative to the source directory of the module. The paths from that array are resolved using g_file_resolve_relative_path() and validated to stay inside the source directory using two checks - g_file_get_relative_path() which does not resolve symlinks and g_file_query_file_type() with G_FILE_QUERY_INFO_NOFOLLOW_SYMLINKS which only applies to the final path component. The copy operation runs on host. This can be exploited by using a crafted manifest and/or source to read arbitrary files from the host and capture them into the build output. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.4.8. | 26 Oct |
| CVE-2026-41525 | 6.5 medium | 0.00% | no CPE yet | KDE Dolphin before 25.12.3 allows applications in a Flatpak (or with AppArmor confinement) to open folders outside of the application sandbox without additional scrutiny. Dolphin's implementation of the FileManager1 protocol allows the path given to be any type of file, including scripts or executables. (By default, Dolphin will then prompt the user to determine if they want to launch a script or executable; however, the intended behavior is to block the attempted action, not present a consent prompt.) | Mon 26 Oct |
| CVE-2026-40354 | 6.3 medium | 0.00% | flatpak, xdg-desktop-portal | Flatpak xdg-desktop-portal before 1.20.4 and 1.21.x before 1.21.1 allows any Flatpak app to trash any file in the host context via a symlink attack on g_file_trash. | Mon 26 Oct |
| CVE-2026-107466 | 6.1 medium | 0.00% | no CPE yet | A flaw was found in flatpak-builder. This vulnerability allows an attacker to cause information disclosure by convincing a user or continuous integration (CI) system to process a crafted build manifest. By specifying local file Uniform Resource Identifiers (URIs) within source download definitions, the builder bypasses directory confinement checks. As a result, sensitive host files accessible to the build process can be read and incorporated into the build artifacts. | 8 Oct |
| CVE-2026-107445 | 5.4 medium | 0.00% | no CPE yet | A flaw was found in Katello where the Flatpak Remote Repositories API does not properly enforce authorization when accessing a flatpak remote repository by identifier. An authenticated user with permission to view flatpak remotes in one organization may be able to access flatpak remote repository information belonging to another organization. The same unscoped lookup is used by the mirror action, which may allow creating a repository in a product the user can edit that is configured with another organization's flatpak remote URL and stored remote credentials. | Thu 29 Oct |
