CVE-2026-98180exploit 7.1 high 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm: RCU-free the scheduler-containing ring and VM objects Both struct msm_ringbuffer and struct msm_gem_vm embed a struct drm_gpu_scheduler. msm_ringbuffer_destroy() and the VM free callback msm_gem_vm_free() call drm_sched_fini() on the embedded scheduler and then free the containing object with plain kfree(). drm_sched_fence_get_timeline_name() returns fence->sched->name, and the scheduler fence keeps a .release callback so it is not ops-detached on signalling. A finished fence exported to userspace (the submit out-fence, or a VM_BIND fence, via sync_file / drm_syncobj) keeps pointing at the embedded scheduler after the ring/VM is freed, so a later get_timeline_name() -- reachable unprivileged through SYNC_IOC_FILE_INFO -- dereferences freed slab memory (KASAN slab-use-after-free read). Per the dma-fence lifetime contract the exporter must keep the data backing a signalled fence alive for an RCU grace period. Free the scheduler-containing objects with kfree_rcu() instead of kfree(). Patchwork: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/750234/ 19 Oct
CVE-2026-9539exploit 6.5 medium 0.00% no CPE yet An out-of-bounds heap read and integer underflow in the TCP urgent data handling (sosendoob) in freedesktop.org libslirp version before v4.9.2 on hypervisor host environments (e.g., QEMU) allows a privileged guest VM attacker (root or CAP_NET_RAW) to leak gigabytes of sensitive host-process heap memory via sending crafted TCP segments with manipulated URG flags and urgent pointers (ti_urp). Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2019-20367 9.1 critical 3.0% freedesktop, debian, libbsd, debian_linux, ubuntu_linux nlist.c in libbsd before 0.10.0 has an out-of-bounds read during a comparison for a symbol name from the string table (strtab). 14 Oct
CVE-2023-34969 6.5 medium 2.0% freedesktop, fedoraproject, dbus, fedora, debian_linux D-Bus before 1.15.6 sometimes allows unprivileged users to crash dbus-daemon. If a privileged user with control over the dbus-daemon is using the org.freedesktop.DBus.Monitoring interface to monitor message bus traffic, then an unprivileged user with the ability to connect to the same dbus-daemon can cause a dbus-daemon crash under some circumstances via an unreplyable message. When done on the well-known system bus, this is a denial-of-service vulnerability. The fixed versions are 1.12.28, 1.14.8, and 1.15.6. 15 Oct
CVE-2026-48731 7.8 high 1.0% no CPE yet Warp is an agentic development environment. From 0.2024.02.20.08.01.stable_01 until 0.2026.05.06.15.42.stable_01, Warp contains a command injection issue in the Linux external editor launcher. Warp expanded freedesktop .desktop Exec templates for affected editor integrations and executed the expanded command through a shell. A user who opens an attacker-controlled local file path through an affected external editor or system-default editor route can cause shell syntax embedded in that path to execute as the local user. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.2026.05.06.15.42.stable_01. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2026-46470 9.1 critical 0.00% freedesktop, gst-plugins-good An issue was discovered in GStreamer gst-plugins-good before 1.28.2. When parsing MP4 audio tracks, the isomp4 plugin's qtdemux_audio_caps function does not sufficiently validate atom data before performing division operations, leading to denial of service due to integer division by zero. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-35093 8.8 high 0.00% freedesktop, fedoraproject, libinput, fedora A flaw was found in libinput. A local attacker who can place a specially crafted Lua bytecode file in certain system or user configuration directories can bypass security restrictions. This allows the attacker to run unauthorized code with the same permissions as the program using libinput, such as a graphical compositor. This could lead to the attacker monitoring keyboard input and sending that information to an external location. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2025-68314 8.8 high 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm: make sure last_fence is always updated Update last_fence in the vm-bind path instead of kernel managed path. last_fence is used to wait for work to finish in vm_bind contexts but not used for kernel managed contexts. This fixes a bug where last_fence is not waited on context close leading to faults as resources are freed while in use. Patchwork: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/680080/ 14 Oct
CVE-2025-40069 7.8 high 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm: Fix obj leak in VM_BIND error path If we fail a handle-lookup part way thru, we need to drop the already obtained obj references. Patchwork: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/669784/ 19 Oct
CVE-2026-68266 7.8 high 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe: Hold a dma-buf reference for imported BOs An imported dma-buf BO is created as a ttm_bo_type_sg BO whose reservation object is the exporter's dma_buf->resv. The importer, however, only takes a dma-buf reference after a successful dma_buf_dynamic_attach(). Until then nothing keeps the exporter alive, so if the exporter is freed while the BO still references its resv, a later access to that resv is a use-after-free: Oops: general protection fault, probably for non-canonical address 0x6b6b6b6b6b6b6b9c Workqueue: ttm ttm_bo_delayed_delete [ttm] RIP: 0010:mutex_can_spin_on_owner+0x3f/0xc0 This can be reached on two paths: - dma_buf_dynamic_attach() fails, or - ttm_bo_init_reserved() fails during BO creation. In both cases the BO already has bo->base.resv pointing at the exporter resv, and sg BOs are always torn down via ttm_bo_delayed_delete(), which locks bo->base.resv asynchronously - potentially after the exporter has been freed. Take the dma-buf reference in xe_bo_init_locked(), before ttm_bo_init_reserved(), so it also covers a creation failure there, and release it in xe_ttm_bo_destroy(). The reference is held for the whole BO lifetime, keeping the shared resv alive on every path. v2: - Reworked the fix to avoid creating the imported sg BO before dma_buf_dynamic_attach() succeeds. - Attach with importer_priv == NULL and make invalidate_mappings ignore incomplete imports. v3: - Dropped the xe-side reordering approach since importer_priv must be valid when dma_buf_dynamic_attach() publishes the attachment. - Per Christian's suggestion on the v1 thread, keyed the check on import_attach rather than removing the sg guard entirely. - Fixes both xe and amdgpu in a single TTM patch. v4: - Moved import_attach check to after dma_resv_copy_fences() so fences are copied before returning for successful imports (Thomas). - Removed exporter-alive claim from commit message (Thomas). v5: - Add drm/xe patch to keep imported sg BOs off the LRU before attach succeeds; the TTM fix alone is not sufficient for xe if the BO is already LRU-visible. (Thomas) v4 patch: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/736663/?series=169129&rev=2 - Patch 1 (drm/ttm) carries Christian's Reviewed-by from v4. v6: - Reworked the fix based on Thomas' suggestion. Instead of the TTM resv individualization (v1-v5) plus the xe off-LRU/placement handling (v5), just hold a dma-buf reference for the imported BO lifetime so the shared resv can never be freed while the BO still references it. Single xe patch, no TTM change. (Thomas) - Take the reference in xe_bo_init_locked() before ttm_bo_init_reserved() so a TTM creation failure is covered too (Thomas). - Dropped the v5 series (drm/ttm + drm/xe off-LRU); the off-LRU approach also regressed in CI BAT via ttm_bo_pipeline_gutting() creating a ghost BO that outlived the exporter. Link to v5: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/series/169984/ v7: - Move changelog above --- so it stays in the commit message. - Reorder changelog entries oldest-to-newest. CVE-2016-2568 7.8 high 0.00% freedesktop, redhat, polkit, enterprise_linux pkexec, when used with --user nonpriv, allows local users to escape to the parent session via a crafted TIOCSTI ioctl call, which pushes characters to the terminal's input buffer. 8 Oct
CVE-2026-64039 7.7 high 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm/snapshot: fix dumping of the unaligned regions The snapshotting code internally aligns data segment to 16 bytes. This works fine for DPU code (where most of the regions are aligned), but fails for snapshotting of the DSI data (because DSI data region is shifted by 4 bytes). Fix the code by removing length alignment and by accurately printing last registers in the region. While reworking the code also fix the 16x memory overallocation in msm_disp_state_dump_regs(). CVE-2026-35094 5.5 medium 0.00% freedesktop, fedoraproject, libinput, fedora A flaw was found in libinput. An attacker capable of deploying a Lua plugin file in specific system directories can exploit a dangling pointer vulnerability. This occurs when a garbage collection cleanup function is called, leaving a pointer that can then be printed to system logs. This could potentially expose sensitive data if the memory location is re-used, leading to information disclosure. For this exploit to work, Lua plugins must be enabled in libinput and loaded by the compositor. Mon 26 Oct

CVE-2026-64154 5.5 medium 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm/adreno: Fix a reference leak in a6xx_gpu_init() In a6xx_gpu_init(), node is obtained via of_parse_phandle(). While there was a manual of_node_put() at the end of the common path, several early error returns would bypass this call, resulting in a reference leak. Fix this by using the __free(device_node) cleanup handler to release the reference when the variable goes out of scope. Patchwork: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/700661/ 21 Oct
CVE-2026-53377 5.5 medium 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm: always recover the gpu Previously, in case there was no more work to do, recover worker wouldn't trigger recovery and would instead rely on the gpu going to sleep and then resuming when more work is submitted. Recover_worker will first increment the fence of the hung ring so, if there's only one job submitted to a ring and that causes an hang, it will early out. There's no guarantee that the gpu will suspend and resume before more work is submitted and if the gpu is in a hung state it will stay in that state and probably trigger a timeout again. Just stop checking and always recover the gpu. Patchwork: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/704066/ 21 Oct
CVE-2026-100077 5.5 medium 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm: Recover HW before retire hung submit During recovery, it is not safe to retire the hung submit before we recover the GPU. Retiring the submit triggers BO free and that can result in GPU pagefaults since the GPU may be actively accessing those BOs. To fix this, retire the submits after gpu recovery is complete in recover_worker(). Patchwork: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/730655/ 21 Oct
CVE-2025-39747 5.5 medium 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm: Add error handling for krealloc in metadata setup Function msm_ioctl_gem_info_set_metadata() now checks for krealloc failure and returns -ENOMEM, avoiding potential NULL pointer dereference. CVE-2023-54217 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Revert "drm/msm: Add missing check and destroy for alloc_ordered_workqueue" This reverts commit 643b7d0869cc7f1f7a5ac7ca6bd25d88f54e31d0. A recent patch that tried to fix up the msm_drm_init() paths with respect to the workqueue but only ended up making things worse: First, the newly added calls to msm_drm_uninit() on early errors would trigger NULL-pointer dereferences, for example, as the kms pointer would not have been initialised. (Note that these paths were also modified by a second broken error handling patch which in effect cancelled out this part when merged.) Second, the newly added allocation sanity check would still leak the previously allocated drm device. Instead of trying to salvage what was badly broken (and clearly not tested), let's revert the bad commit so that clean and backportable fixes can be added in its place. CVE-2026-93058 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm: Only fini scheduler after successful init msm_ringbuffer_new() destroys a partially initialized ring through msm_ringbuffer_destroy() when an allocation or scheduler setup step fails. If drm_sched_init() fails before it finishes initializing the scheduler, the failure path still calls drm_sched_fini(). That teardown path assumes the scheduler work items, lists, and workqueue state were initialized. Track successful scheduler initialization and call drm_sched_fini() only after drm_sched_init() returned 0. This issue was found by a static analysis checker and confirmed by manual source review. CVE-2026-90363 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm: don't tear down KMS twice when KMS init fails When priv->kms_init() (mdp4_kms_init() / mdp5_kms_init()) fails partway through, both display drivers already tear their KMS state down via mdp4_destroy() / mdp5_kms_destroy() before returning the error. The common error path in msm_drm_init() then runs msm_drm_uninit() -> msm_drm_kms_uninit(), which tries to destroy the very same KMS a second time, which causes a use-after-free crash. Bring MDP4/MDP5 in line with the DPU driver whose dpu_kms_init() doesn't perform error cleanup on the failure. Let the common path own the cleanup, instead of freeing the KMS from their error paths. CVE-2026-98313 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm/dp: skip PUSH_IDLE when the link was never enabled msm_dp_display_atomic_enable() returns early when link training fails, leaving ->power_on false and the main link down. msm_dp_display_atomic_disable() nevertheless writes DP_STATE_CTRL_PUSH_IDLE and waits for an idle-pattern completion that cannot arrive, so every failed enable is followed by "PUSH_IDLE pattern timedout". Every other step of the teardown is already gated on that flag: msm_dp_display_disable(), called from .atomic_post_disable(), returns early on !power_on. The PUSH_IDLE write is the only one that is not, so the controller's runtime-PM reference is then dropped without the link having been taken down. On glymur (Snapdragon X2 Elite) the consequence is not a warning. The SoC does not survive it: TrustZone force-stops the SOCCP and ADSP remote processors and the machine resets silently about 50 ms later, with no oops and no panic. On an ASUS Zenbook A16 (UX3607OA), whose eDP panel does not currently train, this reproduces without any compositor or GPU involvement: # eDP enable has already failed with "Failed link training (rc=-104)" echo 1 > /sys/class/graphics/fb0/blank [535.645455] === marker === [535.694833] qcom_q6v5_pas d00000.remoteproc: fatal error received: \ sys_m_smsm.c:512:TZ force stop [535.694875] remoteproc remoteproc0: crash detected in soccp: type fatal error [535.728857] qcom_q6v5_pas 6800000.remoteproc: fatal error received: \ sys_m_smsm.c:783:err fatal notification received from TZ <SoC reset> Gate the PUSH_IDLE write on ->power_on so the disable path is consistent with the rest of the teardown. With this applied the same sequence is harmless and the machine stays up; without it, it resets every time. The unconditional write dates back to the original DP driver (c943b4948b58 ("drm/msm/dp: add displayPort driver support")), but the surrounding code has been restructured several times since, so no Fixes: tag is offered. Note that the eDP link-training failure that exposes this on the A16 is a separate problem in the glymur eDP PHY and is reported separately; this change is about not damaging the machine when training fails, for whatever reason. Tested on ASUS Zenbook A16 (UX3607OA), Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme, on linux-next next-20260803 and next-20260807. The machine has since been running next-20260807 with this patch as its daily driver. Patchwork: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/745167/ 19 Oct
CVE-2026-98106 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/pagemap: Prevent double migration of device pages A device-private folio migrated to system memory by a CPU fault can remain reachable through the raw-PFN eviction path until migration finalization drops the source reference. If eviction selects the same device-private folio during this window, it can attempt to migrate the folio again. The second migration can leave an uncharged folio on an LRU list, causing folio_lruvec_lock_irqsave() to retry indefinitely and resulting in a soft lockup and RCU stall. Mark successfully migrated device-private folios using a low bit of their zone_device_data before migration finalization. Make both CPU-fault and raw-PFN migration paths skip device-private folios carrying this flag. Mask the flag when retrieving the drm_pagemap_zdd pointer and preserve it when a device-private folio is split. Keeping the state on the physical folio also avoids depending on a virtual address that may change before a fault occurs. v2: - Replace the retired-PFN XArray with an embedded bitmap. (Matthew Brost) - Mark every base page covered by a migrated folio so retirement remains valid if the folio is later split. v3: - Store the migrated state in a low bit of zone_device_data instead of adding virtual-range and bitmap tracking to the ZDD. (Matthew Brost) - Mask the flag when retrieving the ZDD and preserve it when splitting a folio. - Drop the pre-existing fixes already covered by Matthew Brost's series: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/series/171651/ v4: - Advance by the folio size only for migration entries marked with MIGRATE_PFN_COMPOUND. (Sashiko) v5: - Simplify ZDD flag updates and folio iteration. (Matthew Brost) - Skip retired device-private folios in the CPU-fault path. (Matthew Brost) - Preserve flag bits while taking a new ZDD reference for split folios. v6: - Restore MIGRATE_PFN_COMPOUND-aware stepping so non-compound migration entries are processed one at a time. (Sashiko) - Drop the pre-existing fixes already covered by Matthew Brost's series: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/series/171651/ The lockup was observed as: [10109.860465] watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#9 stuck for 26s! CVE-2026-90362 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm/dsi: Drop dev_pm_opp_set_rate(0) dev_pm_opp_set_rate(0) removes the vote specified in required-opps but does not actually park the clock, making it run without the necessary power backing. Drop the explicit call to it. Every call site of ops->link_clk_disable() is followed by pm_runtime_put(), so the power vote will be rescinded if deemed safe.
