CVE-2026-42786 8.7 high 1.0% no CPE yet Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in mtrudel bandit allows unauthenticated remote denial of service via memory exhaustion. The fragment reassembly path in 'Elixir.Bandit.WebSocket.Connection':handle_frame/3 in lib/bandit/websocket/connection.ex appends every incoming Continuation{fin: false} frame's payload to a per-connection iolist with no cumulative size cap. The existing max_frame_size option only bounds individual frames; a peer that streams an unbounded number of continuation frames without ever setting fin=1 grows BEAM heap linearly until the OS or a supervisor kills the process. Because the accumulation happens before WebSock.handle_in/2 is called, the application has no opportunity to interpose a size check. Phoenix Channels and LiveView both run over WebSock on Bandit, so a stock Phoenix application exposes this surface as soon as it accepts socket connections. This issue affects bandit: from 0.5.0 before 1.11.0. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-39803 8.7 high 1.0% mtrudel, bandit Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in mtrudel bandit allows unauthenticated remote denial of service via memory exhaustion. The chunked clause of 'Elixir.Bandit.HTTP1.Socket':read_data/2 in lib/bandit/http1/socket.ex ignores the caller-supplied :length option when reading HTTP/1 chunked request bodies. Instead of capping the accumulated body at the configured limit (e.g. Plug.Parsers' default 8 MB), do_read_chunked_data!/5 buffers every received chunk into an iolist unconditionally and materializes the entire body as a single binary. The function always returns {:ok, body, ...}, so callers cannot interpose a 413 response. Because Plug.Parsers runs before routing and authentication in the standard Phoenix endpoint, an unauthenticated attacker needs no valid route or credentials. Sending a single Transfer-Encoding: chunked POST request with an arbitrarily large body to any path causes the BEAM process to exhaust available memory and be terminated by the OS OOM killer. The content-length path in the same function correctly enforces the limit and is not affected. This issue affects bandit: from 1.4.0 before 1.11.1. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-56811 8.7 high 1.0% phoenixframework, phoenix Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in phoenixframework phoenix (Phoenix.Socket module) allows an unauthenticated attacker to cause a denial of service against any endpoint that mounts a Phoenix socket with a reachable channel transport (WebSocket or LongPoll). This vulnerability is associated with program files lib/phoenix/socket.ex and program routine 'Elixir.Phoenix.Socket':handle_in/4. Phoenix transports do not limit the number of channels that a single transport process may join. Every phx_join message a client sends over one connection starts a persistent channel process, and the socket process accepts an unbounded number of them. A single unauthenticated client can therefore open one WebSocket or LongPoll connection and stream a large number of phx_join messages, spawning hundreds of thousands of channel processes over that one connection and eventually reaching the BEAM maximum process limit. Once the process table is exhausted the virtual machine can no longer start new processes, denying service to legitimate traffic across the whole node. Because the amplification happens inside a single connection, network-layer connection caps and rate limiting do not mitigate it. The fix adds a :max_channels_per_transport option (default 100) that bounds the number of channels a single transport process can join, forcing abusive clients to open many connections instead, where external load balancers and reverse proxies can throttle them. This issue affects phoenix: from 0.11.0 before 1.5.15, from 1.6.0-rc.0 before 1.6.17, from 1.7.0-rc.0 before 1.7.24, and from 1.8.0-rc.0 before 1.8.9. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2026-39804 8.2 high 1.0% no CPE yet Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in mtrudel bandit allows unauthenticated remote denial of service via memory exhaustion when WebSocket permessage-deflate compression is enabled. 'Elixir.Bandit.WebSocket.PerMessageDeflate':inflate/2 in lib/bandit/websocket/permessage_deflate.ex calls :zlib.inflate/2 with no output-size cap, then materializes the entire decompressed payload as a single binary via IO.iodata_to_binary/1. The websocket_options.max_frame_size option only bounds the on-the-wire (compressed) frame size, not the decompressed output. A high-ratio compressed frame (e.g. uniform data at ~1024:1 ratio) can stay well under any wire-size limit while forcing GiB-scale heap allocations in the connection process before any application code runs. An unauthenticated attacker who can open a WebSocket connection can send a single such frame to exhaust the BEAM node's memory and trigger an OOM kill. This vulnerability requires both Bandit's server-level websocket_options.compress and the per-upgrade compress: true option passed to WebSockAdapter.upgrade/4 to be enabled. Stock Phoenix and LiveView applications are not affected as they default to compress: false. This issue affects bandit: from 0.5.9 before 1.11.0. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-105660 6.9 medium 1.0% no CPE yet Improper Validation of Syntactic Correctness of Input vulnerability in mtrudel bandit allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to set conn.host and conn.port to values outside the RFC 3986 host grammar via the authority of an HTTP/1 absolute-form or authority-form request target. Bandit validates the Host header and answers 400 when it is malformed, but when the request target carries its own authority that authority takes precedence, as RFC 9112 requires, and Bandit.Pipeline.determine_host_and_port!/4 in lib/bandit/pipeline.ex passes it to the application unchecked. A request line such as GET http://[email protected]/x HTTP/1.1 with a valid Host header yields a conn.host of [email protected], and the same path admits NUL, DEL and non-ASCII bytes, invalid IP literals and ports outside 1..65535. The HTTP/1.0 clause needs no Host header at all, and CONNECT places the unparsed port string in conn.port. Applications that build absolute URLs from conn.host, such as through Plug.Conn.request_url/1 or Phoenix URL helpers, emit links whose authority the attacker chose. Message framing is unaffected, and no CR or LF can reach conn.host. This issue affects bandit: from 0.6.0 before 1.13.0. 16 Oct
CVE-2026-56812 6.3 medium 1.0% phoenixframework, phoenix Improper Check for Unusual or Exceptional Conditions vulnerability in phoenixframework phoenix (Presence JavaScript client) allows an attacker with ordinary channel access to cause a persistent client-side denial of service against every viewer of a presence channel topic. This vulnerability is associated with program files assets/js/phoenix/presence.js and program routines Presence.syncState and Presence.syncDiff. The Phoenix JavaScript presence client checks whether a presence already exists with a bare truthiness test (state[key]) instead of an own-property check. Presence keys can be attacker-controlled, because applications track presences under a username or id supplied by the client. A user who joins a channel choosing a key that is an Object.prototype member name (__proto__, constructor, toString, hasOwnProperty, and similar) makes that lookup return JavaScript's built-in Object.prototype instead of undefined. Because the prototype is truthy, the code treats it as an existing presence and reads .metas.map(...) off it, which throws an uncaught TypeError. The exception propagates out of the presence message handler, so the local state is never updated and onSync() never fires. Because the malicious key is tracked on the server, it is re-pushed on every presence update and keeps re-throwing, so presence sync stays broken for every viewer of that channel topic until the attacker leaves. Both syncState and syncDiff use the same unsafe existence-check pattern. The impact is limited to the affected topic and is a read-time confusion of the prototype object, not a mutation of Object.prototype (it is not prototype pollution). This issue affects phoenix: from 1.2.0-rc.0 before 1.5.15, from 1.6.0-rc.0 before 1.6.17, from 1.7.0-rc.0 before 1.7.24, and from 1.8.0-rc.0 before 1.8.9; phoenix: from 1.2.0-rc.0 before 1.5.15, from 1.6.0-rc.0 before 1.6.17, from 1.7.0-rc.0 before 1.7.24, and from 1.8.0-rc.0 before 1.8.9. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2026-105963 5.1 medium 1.0% no CPE yet Externally-Generated Error Message Containing Sensitive Information vulnerability in plug_crypto in elixir-plug plug_crypto allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to expose the secret key base through application logs via a wrong-typed argument. Every public function in Plug.Crypto validates argument types in a function-head guard. A failed guard makes the Erlang VM raise FunctionClauseError with the actual argument values in the top stack frame, so the secret key base, a derived key, or the value an API key is compared against lands in that frame. The library's rescue blocks and Plug.Crypto.prune_args_from_stacktrace/1 only reach exceptions raised inside a function body, so they never see a guard failure. Plug.Cowboy and Bandit write the frame to the error log and attach it as crash_reason Logger metadata, which error trackers forward. Two entry points take request data. Plug.Crypto.verify/4 exposes the secret key base when the token is neither a binary nor nil, which Phoenix.Token.verify/4 reaches because it forwards the token unguarded. Plug.Crypto.secure_compare/2 exposes the other operand when one side is not a binary, as happens when a missing request header yields nil. Reading the leaked value needs separate access to the logs or the error tracker, so the request alone does not disclose the secret to the attacker. This issue affects plug: from 1.6.3 before 1.7.0; plug_crypto: from 1.0.0 before 2.2.1. Fri 23 Oct
CVE-2026-64941 2.1 low 1.0% no CPE yet URL Redirection to Untrusted Site ('Open Redirect') vulnerability in phoenixframework phoenix_live_view allows an attacker to send a victim's browser to an origin of the attacker's choosing via a :to value containing ASCII tab, LF or CR. redirect/2 validates :to through the private validate_local_url!/2 in lib/phoenix_live_view.ex, which is intended to guarantee the target is a path within the application. It rejects a leading // and any backslash, but not ASCII tab, LF or CR. Browsers strip those three characters before parsing a URL, so a value such as /<TAB>/example.com passes validation as a path and is then resolved as the scheme-relative URL //example.com. The live navigation functions share the guard but are not affected, because the client expands their target against the current origin. push_patch/2 is also affected before 0.7.0, which is when that expansion was added. This issue affects phoenix_live_view: from 0.5.0 before 1.0.19, from 1.1.0-rc.0 before 1.1.33, and from 1.2.0-rc.0 before 1.2.9. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2026-49454 9.1 critical 0.00% no CPE yet Relyra is a strict-by-default SAML 2.0 Service Provider library for Elixir and Phoenix. Versions 1.0.0 and 1.1.0 accept forged SAML signatures because SignatureValue was not cryptographically verified before the library returned a successful authentication result. The XMLDSig trust boundary was incomplete as :public_key.verify over the exclusive-C14N canonicalized SignedInfo was not performed against the configured IdP certificate's public key, DigestValue was not recomputed over the canonicalized referenced element, and canonicalize/2 remained an unused passthrough in the signature-verification path. The result was a structure-only acceptance path where document shape and trust-source rejection could succeed without proving the signature bytes. A forged SignatureValue carrying an attacker-controlled NameID could be accepted as {:ok}. This issue has been fixed in version 1.2.0. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-116389 8.8 high 0.00% no CPE yet Deserialization of Untrusted Data vulnerability in crossi72 Phoenix Media Rename phoenix-media-rename allows Object Injection. This issue affects Phoenix Media Rename: from n/a through 3.13.5. Wed 28 Oct
CVE-2026-32689 8.7 high 0.00% no CPE yet Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in phoenixframework phoenix allows a denial of service via the long-poll transport's NDJSON body handling. In 'Elixir.Phoenix.Transports.LongPoll':publish/4, when a POST request is received with Content-Type: application/x-ndjson, the request body is split on newline characters using String.split/2 with no limit on the number of resulting segments. An attacker can send a body consisting entirely of newline bytes, causing a 1:1 amplification into a list of empty binaries — a 1 MB body produces approximately one million list elements, an 8 MB body approximately 8.4 million. Each element is then walked by Enum.map, materializing another list of the same size. This exhausts BEAM memory and schedulers, crashing the node and terminating all active sessions. A session token required to reach the vulnerable endpoint is freely obtainable by any client via an unauthenticated GET request to the same URL with a matching Origin header, making this attack effectively unauthenticated. This issue affects phoenix: from 1.7.0 before 1.7.22 and 1.8.6. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-98166 7.8 high 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/ttm: fix swapped-out resources never leaving their bulk_move range ttm_tt_swapout() returns the number of pages swapped out on success and a negative error code on failure; for a populated ttm it never returns zero. Commit b2ed01e7ad3d ("drm/ttm: Fix ttm_bo_swapout() infinite LRU walk on swapout failure") moved the bulk_move bookkeeping in ttm_bo_swapout_cb() under "if (!ret)", so the ttm_resource_del_bulk_move_unevictable() / ttm_resource_move_to_lru_tail() pair is now skipped on every successful swapout. The equivalent change for the shrinker in commit 1d59f36e95f7 ("drm/ttm: Fix ttm_bo_shrink() infinite LRU walk on backup failure") tests "lret > 0", which is what was intended here as well. Before b2ed01e7ad3d the resource was taken off the bulk_move before the swapout; since then a swapped-out resource stays inside its BO's bulk_move range (and on the manager LRU) although it is unevictable. When it is later freed or the BO leaves the bulk_move (ttm_resource_free(), ttm_bo_set_bulk_move() via amdgpu_vm_bo_del()), ttm_resource_del_bulk_move() skips it because of its !ttm_resource_unevictable() guard, so a range endpoint in pos->first / pos->last is left pointing at freed memory. The next ttm_lru_bulk_move_tail() or ttm_resource_add_bulk_move() on that cursor is a use-after-free, seen as the resv WARN in ttm_lru_bulk_move_add(), "list_del corruption" in ttm_resource_move_to_lru_tail() or a NULL dereference in ttm_resource_manager_next() -- minutes to hours after a hibernation, or at process exit / reboot following one. Samuel Ainsworth's analysis of drm/amd issue 5387 (see Link) identified the dangling cursor; the missing removal at swapout time is the reason it dangles. Testing the condition for success restores the removal. On an AMD Phoenix APU (ASUS UM3406GA, gfx1103) running suspend-then-hibernate on a 7.0.y stable kernel carrying the backport (Ubuntu 7.0.0-31) the bug crashed 5 of 18 hibernation cycles; a function profile of one hibernation showed 336 ttm_tt_swapout() calls and zero ttm_resource_del_bulk_move_unevictable() calls. With this change the removal happens for every swapped-out resource and 12 further cycles were clean. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2024-58296 5.3 medium 0.00% phoenixcart, ce phoenix CE Phoenix v1.0.8.20 contains a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in the currencies administration panel that allows attackers to inject malicious scripts. Attackers can insert XSS payloads in the title field to execute arbitrary JavaScript when administrators view the currencies page. 11 h ago
CVE-2026-58228 5.1 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Cross-site scripting vulnerability in phoenixframework phoenix_live_view allows an attacker to bypass URL scheme validation and execute JavaScript in a victim's browser session. The Phoenix.LiveView.Utils.valid_destination!/2 and Phoenix.LiveView.Utils.valid_live_navigation_destination!/2 functions in lib/phoenix_live_view/utils.ex rely on an internal uri_scheme/1 helper that only detects a scheme when the input's first byte is an ASCII letter. Inputs beginning with an ASCII control character or space fall through to a nil-returning clause, causing the URL to be treated as a safe relative path. Standard browsers implement the WHATWG URL parser, which strips leading C0 control and space characters before parsing. As a result, an input such as " javascript:alert(1)" is passed unchanged into <.link href={...}> and, when clicked, is parsed by the browser as a javascript: URL that executes attacker-controlled script in the victim's session. Applications that render user-supplied URLs (for example profile links, redirect targets, or external references) via <.link href={...}> are affected. This issue affects phoenix_live_view: from 1.2.2 before 1.2.7. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2026-113731 3.3 low 0.00% no CPE yet djust provides Phoenix LiveView-style reactive server-side rendering for Django with Rust-powered performance. From 0.9.0 until 1.0.10, 1.1.7, 1.2.4, and 1.3.0rc8, the find_handlers_for_template MCP tool in python/djust/mcp/server.py accepts an existing absolute template_path and reads it without restricting the resolved path to the project or configured template directories. A local MCP client can use the tool as a file existence and readability oracle and can obtain substrings that match the tool's dj-click, dj-submit, dj-change, dj-input, dj-keydown, or dj-keyup attribute pattern from files readable by the djust process. The maintainer assessment states that the MCP server communicates over local stdio as the same operating-system user and has no network listener, and the tool does not return arbitrary raw file contents. This issue is fixed in versions 1.0.10, 1.1.7, 1.2.4, and 1.3.0rc8. Wed 28 Oct
CVE-2025-9677 1.9 low 0.00% modo, legend_of_the_phoenix A security flaw has been discovered in Modo Legend of the Phoenix up to 1.0.5. The affected element is an unknown function of the file AndroidManifest.xml of the component com.duige.hzw.multilingual. The manipulation results in improper export of android application components.
