| CVE-2026-57191 | 8.2 high | 1.0% | no CPE yet | Asterisk is an open source private branch exchange and telephony toolkit. Prior to Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3, an unbounded `sscanf` in `res_pjsip_pubsub` when parsing the `MWI NOTIFY` `Message-Account` field may allow an unauthenticated attacker to send a carefully crafted packet that causes a stack buffer overflow and corrupts the underlying transport, permanently disabling all SIP functionality. An Asterisk restart is required to restore full operation. This issue is fixed in Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3. | Wed 28 Oct |
| CVE-2025-65102 | 8.7 high | 0.00% | no CPE yet | PJSIP is a free and open source multimedia communication library. Prior to version 2.16, Opus PLC may zero-fill the input frame as long as the decoder ptime, while the input frame length, which is based on stream ptime, may be less than that. This issue affects PJSIP users who use the Opus audio codec in receiving direction. The vulnerability can lead to unexpected application termination due to a memory overwrite. This issue has been patched in version 2.16. | 18 Oct |
| CVE-2026-40614 | 8.5 high | 0.00% | pjsip | PJSIP is a free and open source multimedia communication library written in C. In 2.16 and earlier, there is a buffer overflow when decoding Opus audio frames due to insufficient buffer size validation in the Opus codec decode path. The FEC decode buffers (dec_frame[].buf) were allocated based on a PCM-derived formula: (sample_rate/1000) * 60 * channel_cnt * 2. At 8 kHz mono this yields only 960 bytes, but codec_parse() can output encoded frames up to MAX_ENCODED_PACKET_SIZE (1280) bytes via opus_repacketizer_out_range(). The three pj_memcpy() calls in codec_decode() copied input->size bytes without bounds checking, causing a heap buffer overflow. | Mon 26 Oct |
| CVE-2026-42225 | 8.2 high | 0.00% | teluu, pjsip | PJSIP is a free and open source multimedia communication library written in C. Prior to version 2.17, on GnuTLS builds, the SIP TLS transport (sip_transport_tls) can accept connections with invalid or untrusted certificates even when the application explicitly enables certificate verification via verify_server = PJ_TRUE or verify_client = PJ_TRUE. This issue has been patched in version 2.17. | Mon 26 Oct |
| CVE-2026-40892 | 8.1 high | 0.00% | pjsip | PJSIP is a free and open source multimedia communication library written in C. In 2.16 and earlier, a stack buffer overflow exists in pjsip_auth_create_digest2() in PJSIP when using pre-computed digest credentials (PJSIP_CRED_DATA_DIGEST). The function copies credential data using cred_info->data.slen as the length without an upper-bound check, which can overflow the fixed-size ha1 stack buffer (128 bytes) if data.slen exceeds the expected digest string length. | Mon 26 Oct |
| CVE-2026-41416 | 8.1 high | 0.00% | teluu, pjsip | PJSIP is a free and open source multimedia communication library written in C. In 2.16 and earlier, there is an integer overflow in media stream buffer size calculation when processing SDP with asymmetric ptime configuration. The overflow may result in an undersized buffer allocation, which can lead to unexpected application termination or memory corruption This vulnerability is fixed in 2.17. | Mon 26 Oct |
| CVE-2026-84975 | 7.4 high | 0.00% | teluu, pjsip | PJSIP is a free and open source multimedia communication library written in C. In 2.17 and earlier, the OpenSSL and GnuTLS backends in pjlib/src/pj/ssl_sock_ossl.c and pjlib/src/pj/ssl_sock_gtls.c copy DNS SubjectAltName values with string functions that recalculate their length and truncate an embedded NUL byte. With server verification enabled through --tls-verify-server for the PJSIP TLS/SIPS transport, a certificate containing a DNS SubjectAltName formed from the target hostname prefix followed by an embedded NUL and an attacker-controlled suffix can therefore be accepted for the prefix hostname. An attacker who possesses such a certificate from a trusted issuer and can intercept the connection can impersonate the target server, complete the SIP session, and receive REGISTER credentials. The mbedTLS backend is not affected because it preserves the explicit string length. No fixed version is available as of this review. | 20 Oct |
| CVE-2026-57187 | 7.1 high | 0.00% | no CPE yet | Asterisk is an open source private branch exchange and telephony toolkit. Prior to Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3, an authenticated attacker may cause a heap-use-after-free in `PJSIP TCP/SDP` handling by sending a `SIP INVITE` over a connection-oriented transport and disconnecting before Asterisk responds with the `200 OK`. So far, the crash has only been reproduced when Asterisk is built with `Address Sanitizer`, which detects the issue. `Address Sanitizer` is a development tool with significant performance overhead and, according to the maintainer, is not used in production systems. This issue is fixed in Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3. | Tue 27 Oct |
| CVE-2026-77396 | 6.9 medium | 0.00% | teluu, pjsip | PJSIP is a free and open source multimedia communication library written in C. In 2.17 and earlier, the PJSIP AVI parser in pjmedia/src/pjmedia/avi_player.c uses an input-file video chunk length as the number of bytes copied into a frame buffer whose capacity is derived from the declared media dimensions. A crafted AVI file can therefore cause an attacker-controlled out-of-bounds write past the heap allocation when an application plays the file or pulls its frames. The existing size assertion does not protect production release builds, where assertions are disabled. Typical local playback can crash the process, while applications that accept untrusted AVI sources expose a stronger memory-corruption condition. No fixed version is available as of this review. | 16 Oct |
| CVE-2026-41415 | 6.7 medium | 0.00% | teluu, pjsip | PJSIP is a free and open source multimedia communication library written in C. In 2.16 and earlier, there is an out-of-bounds read when parsing a malformed Content-ID URI in SIP multipart message body. Insufficient length validation can cause reads beyond the intended buffer bounds. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.17. | Mon 26 Oct |
| CVE-2026-57185 | 6.5 medium | 0.00% | no CPE yet | Asterisk is an open source private branch exchange and telephony toolkit. Prior to Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3, an authenticated attacker may crash Asterisk through a buffer over-read in the `PJSIP MWI body parser` by sending a carefully crafted `SIP NOTIFY` request. The attacker must pass SIP authentication using either a username/password or `source IP address matching`. This issue is fixed in Asterisk 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1 and Certified Asterisk 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3. | Wed 28 Oct |
