| CVE | CVSS | EPSS | Vendor, product | Description | Modified |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| CVE-2020-1712exploit | 7.8 high | 0.00% | systemd_project, redhat, systemd, ceph_storage, discovery | A heap use-after-free vulnerability was found in systemd before version v245-rc1, where asynchronous Polkit queries are performed while handling dbus messages. A local unprivileged attacker can abuse this flaw to crash systemd services or potentially execute code and elevate their privileges, by sending specially crafted dbus messages. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2026-41048 | 8.4 high | 0.00% | presire, qsnapper | Incorrect caching of authentication between different polkit methods in qSnapper before version 1.3.3 allowed a local attacker to use functions like "restore from snapshot" even if only allowed to do "delete snapshot". | Sun 25 Oct |
| CVE-2026-64324 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | linux, linux_kernel | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: udf: validate free block extents against the partition length udf_free_blocks() checks the logical block number and count against the partition length, but drops the extent offset from that final bound. A crafted extent can pass the guard while logicalBlockNum + offset + count points past the partition, which later indexes past the space bitmap array. A single ftruncate(2) on a file backed by such an extent reliably panics the kernel. This is a local availability issue. On desktop systems where UDisks/polkit allows the active user to mount removable UDF media without CAP_SYS_ADMIN, an unprivileged local user can supply the crafted filesystem and trigger the panic by truncating a writable file on it. Systems that require root or CAP_SYS_ADMIN to mount the image have a higher prerequisite. No confidentiality or integrity impact is claimed: the reproduced primitive is an out-of-bounds read of a bitmap pointer slot followed by a kernel panic. Use the already computed logicalBlockNum + offset + count value for the partition length check. Also make load_block_bitmap() reject an out-of-range block group before indexing s_block_bitmap[], so corrupted callers cannot walk past the flexible array. | 19 Oct |
| CVE-2016-2568 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | freedesktop, redhat, polkit, enterprise_linux | pkexec, when used with --user nonpriv, allows local users to escape to the parent session via a crafted TIOCSTI ioctl call, which pushes characters to the terminal's input buffer. | 8 Oct |
| CVE-2026-41045 | 7.0 high | 0.00% | presire, qsnapper | A time-to-check-time-of-use in polkit authentication of qSnapper before version 1.3.3 allowed a local attacker to bypass qSnappers authentication mechanism and operate e.g. as root user. | Sun 25 Oct |
| CVE-2026-15060 | 4.7 medium | 0.00% | no CPE yet | When systemd-machined >= v259 (or v258 with a custom `polkit` policy that allows `register-machine` access) is running on a desktop system, an unprivileged user logged in a desktop graphical session can kill arbitrary processes, even privileged ones. - versions older than v259 are not affected, unless unprivileged access is granted for the `register-machine` polkit action via a local, custom policy config file - versions older than v258 are not affected - unrelated to the systemd service manager (pid 1 or user session managers) - systemd-machined is not typically installed by default, and is typically in an optional, separate package (e.g.: systemd-container) - terminal-only or remote sessions (e.g.: ssh) are not affected | Fri 23 Oct |
| CVE-2026-85498 | 3.5 low | 0.00% | red hat, red hat hardened images, red hat enterprise linux 10, red hat enterprise linux 6 | A flaw was found in polkit. When processing input that begins with a null byte, an arithmetic error in the authentication agent helper causes an integer underflow during buffer length calculation, resulting in an out-of-bounds memory read. An attacker capable of supplying crafted input can trigger this flaw, potentially causing an application crash and resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS). | 13 h ago |
