CVE-2026-110908 8.8 high 6.0% no CPE yet Netgate pfSense FRR package (pfSense-pkg-frr) 2.0.2_1 and source revision 2.1.2_1 contain an OS command injection vulnerability in the FRR status filter. An authenticated WebGUI user with only the page-status-frr privilege can supply a filter value that breaks out of a single-quoted sed expression into which escapeshellarg() output is concatenated. Shell command substitution is then evaluated by a popen() pipeline, allowing attacker-selected commands to execute as root. There are updated FRR packages for pfSense Plus 26.07/26.03.1 and CE 2.9.0/2.8.1. 16 Oct
CVE-2026-9155 8.8 high 2.0% gnu, sed OS Command Injection vulnerability in Rapid7 InsightConnect Sed Plugin on Linux allows authenticated attackers to execute arbitrary OS commands via the expression parameter due to insufficient input validation. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2025-64755 8.7 high 1.0% anthropic, claude_code Claude Code is an agentic coding tool. Prior to version 2.0.31, due to an error in sed command parsing, it was possible to bypass the Claude Code read-only validation and write to arbitrary files on the host system. This issue has been patched in version 2.0.31. 18 Oct
CVE-2026-41450 8.5 high 1.0% no CPE yet UAC (Unix-like Artifacts Collector) versions prior to 3.3.0 contain a command injection vulnerability in the _command_collector function where foreach command output lines are substituted directly into command strings via sed without proper escaping before being evaluated with eval. Attackers can exploit this by crafting malicious filenames or artifact definitions containing shell metacharacters such as command substitution syntax or semicolons to execute arbitrary commands on the analyst's host system. 15 Oct
CVE-2026-116118 2.1 low 1.0% no CPE yet A vulnerability has been found in Z.ai Zcode up to 3.14.3/3.15.1. Affected by this issue is some unknown functionality of the component Sed Command Filter. The manipulation leads to os command injection. Remote exploitation of the attack is possible. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-61898 7.8 high 0.00% no CPE yet The Ubuntu-specific language helper scripts (save-to-pam-env, update-langlist) shipped with accountsservice before 23.13.9-8ubuntu7 treat the user-controlled LANGUAGE entry in ~/.pam_environment as trusted input. The value is interpolated unescaped into a GNU sed replacement expression, allowing an attacker to inject a sed 'e' flag and arbitrary shell commands that execute with the privileges of the AccountsService helper process (real UID 0) via the SetLanguage D-Bus method. 18 Oct
CVE-2026-118905 7.1 high 0.00% nvm-sh, nvm Node Version Manager (nvm) is a POSIX-compliant shell function for managing multiple node.js versions. In versions 0.31.2 through 0.40.5, `nvm_ls` filters installed versions with a sed program that embeds the requested version pattern in a `\#...#` address, escaping `.` (and, since 0.40.4, `#`) but not backslash. A version string containing `#` (or `\#`) therefore closes the address early, and the rest of it is parsed as sed commands: with GNU sed, the `e` command runs a shell command as the user; with BSD sed, the `w` and `r` commands write and read files. This is reachable whenever an attacker-influenced version string is passed to `nvm use`, `nvm which`, `nvm ls`, `nvm version`, `nvm run`, or `nvm exec`, or to `nvm-exec` via `NODE_VERSION`, and at least one version is installed. nvm's own `.nvmrc` parser strips comments, so a bare `nvm use` is not affected; however, the bash `cdnvm` and zsh `load-nvmrc` auto-switch hooks documented in the README read `.nvmrc` as-is and pass it to `nvm ls` and `nvm version`, so a user with one of those hooks installed runs the attacker's command just by changing into a directory under a malicious `.nvmrc`; scripts that run `nvm use "$(cat .nvmrc)"` are affected the same way. Version 0.40.6 passes any version pattern containing `#` or a newline through the `.nvmrc` content parser first, so no `#` reaches the sed program. 22 h ago
CVE-2026-9153 6.5 medium 0.00% gnu, sed Arbitrary File Read vulnerability in Rapid7 InsightConnect Sed Plugin on Linux allows authenticated attackers to read arbitrary files via the expression parameter due to insufficient input validation. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2026-9154 6.5 medium 0.00% gnu, sed Arbitrary File Write vulnerability in Rapid7 InsightConnect Sed Plugin on Linux allows authenticated attackers to write attacker-controlled content to arbitrary file paths via the expression parameter. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2026-5958 2.1 low 0.00% no CPE yet When sed is invoked with both -i (in-place edit) and --follow-symlinks, the function open_next_file() performs two separate, non-atomic filesystem operations on the same path: 1. resolves symlink to its target and stores the resolved path for determining when output is written, 2. opens the original symlink path (not the resolved one) to read the file. Between these two calls there is a race window. If an attacker atomically replaces the symlink with a different target during that window, sed will: read content from the new (attacker-chosen) symlink target and write the processed result to the path recorded in step 1. This can lead to arbitrary file overwrite with attacker-controlled content in the context of the sed process. This issue was fixed in version 4.10. Mon 26 Oct
