CVE-2026-35337 8.8 high 1.0% apache, storm Deserialization of Untrusted Data vulnerability in Apache Storm. Versions Affected: before 2.8.6. Description: When processing topology credentials submitted via the Nimbus Thrift API, Storm deserializes the base64-encoded TGT blob using ObjectInputStream.readObject() without any class filtering or validation. An authenticated user with topology submission rights could supply a crafted serialized object in the "TGT" credential field, leading to remote code execution in both the Nimbus and Worker JVMs. Mitigation: 2.x users should upgrade to 2.8.6. Users who cannot upgrade immediately should monkey-patch an ObjectInputFilter allow-list to ClientAuthUtils.deserializeKerberosTicket() restricting deserialized classes to javax.security.auth.kerberos.KerberosTicket and its known dependencies. A guide on how to do this is available in the release notes of 2.8.6. Credit: This issue was discovered by K. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-10686 7.5 high 1.0% zephyrproject, zephyr Zephyr's IPv6 forwarding path re-sent routed unicast packets without ever decrementing the IPv6 hop limit. Both routing branches of ipv6_route_packet() (subsys/net/ip) were affected: the explicit-route path (net_route_packet()) and the on-link cross-interface path (net_route_packet_if()). Each set the packet forwarding flag and called net_send_data() with the hop limit untouched and no expiry check. Per RFC 8200 the hop-limit decrement is the mechanism that bounds packet lifetime and terminates routing loops; without it, a device acting as an IPv6 router relays looping packets indefinitely. An on-path attacker who can induce or exploit a transient L3 loop turns it into a permanent forwarding storm, causing CPU/bandwidth resource exhaustion (availability DoS) on the forwarder and adjacent links; path-discovery and loop diagnostics that rely on hop-limit expiry are also defeated. Affected configurations. In every affected release the forwarding path is reached via CONFIG_NET_ROUTE (enabled by default when CONFIG_NET_IPV6_NBR_CACHE is set), together with CONFIG_NET_ROUTING for cross-interface routing. Note that CONFIG_NET_IPV6_FORWARDING and CONFIG_NET_IPV4_FORWARDING — which appear in the fix and in this advisory's evidence notes — were introduced after v4.4.0, when the routing options were split and renamed; they do not exist in any affected release. When auditing a v4.4.1-or-earlier configuration, look for CONFIG_NET_ROUTE and CONFIG_NET_ROUTING. IPv4 is not affected in any release. The IPv4 forwarding path (net_route_ipv4_packet() in route_ipv4.c) was added after v4.4.0 and has never shipped in a release. Its TTL decrement and IPv4 header-checksum recomputation landed on main as part of the same fix, so the evidence notes below discuss it, but no released version is reachable by way of IPv4. Affected releases are v1.8.0 through v4.4.1: v1.8.0 introduced net_route_packet() and v2.2.0 added net_route_packet_if(), and neither decremented the hop limit. v4.3.1 carries the explicit-route fix but not the on-link one, so it is affected as well. Fixed on main by 7d8f1afa7345 (explicit-route path) and 589eadc74efa (on-link path). Fri 23 Oct
CVE-2026-9140 8.7 high 0.00% no CPE yet A denial-of-service security issue exists in the 1719-AENTR. The security issue stems from improper handling of a UDP unicast network storm, which causes the device to become overloaded and lose communication. A power cycle is required to recover. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2026-12656 8.7 high 0.00% no CPE yet A denial-of-service security issue exists in the affected product and version. The security issue stems from improper handling of network storm traffic, which can interrupt communication, cause device faults, and affect open TCP and UDP ports. A power cycle is required to recover the device to its normal state. 16 Oct
CVE-2026-89499 7.8 high 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ring-buffer: Stop remote reader update when page swap fails The remote swap_reader_page callback can return -EBUSY when the writer moves the head before the remote catches it, particularly during an event storm on a small buffer. __rb_get_reader_page_from_remote() currently warns about that failure but continues with the unchanged reader ID and rearranges the local page list as though the swap succeeded. Handle the callback failure as a recoverable error. Report it with pr_warn_ratelimited() and return NULL. Callers already handle a NULL reader page as a failed attempt. This avoids splicing the same page as both the previous and new reader without flooding the log under contention. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-23422 7.8 high 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dpaa2-switch: Fix interrupt storm after receiving bad if_id in IRQ handler Commit 31a7a0bbeb00 ("dpaa2-switch: add bounds check for if_id in IRQ handler") introduces a range check for if_id to avoid an out-of-bounds access. If an out-of-bounds if_id is detected, the interrupt status is not cleared. This may result in an interrupt storm. Clear the interrupt status after detecting an out-of-bounds if_id to avoid the problem. Found by an experimental AI code review agent at Google. 15 Oct
CVE-2026-74550 7.5 high 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: do not send ICMP/NDISC Redirects when peer allocation fails When inet_getpeer_v4() or inet_getpeer_v6() fails to allocate a peer entry under memory pressure or tree size caps, redirect handlers previously fell back to sending un-rate-limited ICMP/NDISC Redirect messages. In IPv4, ip_rt_send_redirect() called icmp_send() directly when peer == NULL. In IPv6, ip6_forward() and ndisc_send_redirect() passed a NULL peer into inet_peer_xrlim_allow(), which returned true when peer == NULL. Because ICMP/NDISC Redirects are not part of the default global rate limit mask (sysctl_icmp_ratemask), sending redirects when peer == NULL creates an un-rate-limited ICMP packet storm. Fix this by failing closed in ip_rt_send_redirect(), ip6_forward(), and ndisc_send_redirect() when peer is NULL. 16 Oct
CVE-2026-41081 6.5 medium 0.00% apache, storm Improper Handling of TLS Client Authentication Failure Leading to Anonymous Principal Assignment in Apache Storm Versions Affected: up to 2.8.7 Description: When TLS transport is enabled in Apache Storm without requiring client certificate authentication (the default configuration), the TlsTransportPlugin assigns a fallback principal (CN=ANONYMOUS) if no client certificate is presented or if certificate verification fails. The underlying SSLPeerUnverifiedException is caught and suppressed rather than rejecting the connection. This fail-open behavior means an unauthenticated client can establish a TLS connection and receive a valid principal identity. If the configured authorizer (e.g., SimpleACLAuthorizer) does not explicitly deny access to CN=ANONYMOUS, this may result in unauthorized access to Storm services. The condition is logged at debug level only, reducing visibility in production. Impact: Unauthenticated clients may be assigned a principal identity, potentially bypassing authorization in permissive or misconfigured environments. Mitigation: Users should upgrade to 2.8.7 in which TLS authentication failures are handled in a fail-closed manner. Users who cannot upgrade immediately should: - Enable mandatory client certificate authentication (nimbus.thrift.tls.client.auth.required: true) - Ensure authorization rules explicitly deny access to CN=ANONYMOUS - Review all ACL configurations for implicit default-allow behavior Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-64213 5.5 medium 0.00% linux, linux_kernel In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hwmon: (lm90) Add lock protection to lm90_alert Sashiko reports: lm90_alert() executes in the smbus alert context and calls lm90_update_confreg() to disable the hardware alert line, without acquiring hwmon_lock. Concurrently, sysfs write operations (such as lm90_write_convrate) hold the hwmon_lock, temporarily modify data->config, and then restore it. If an alert interrupt occurs concurrently with a sysfs write, the sysfs path will overwrite the alert handler's modifications to data->config and the hardware register. This unintentionally re-enables the hardware alert line while the alarm is still active, causing an interrupt storm. Add the missing lock to lm90_alert() to solve the problem. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-35565 5.4 medium 0.00% apache, storm Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) via Unsanitized Topology Metadata in Apache Storm UI Versions Affected: before 2.8.6 Description: The Storm UI visualization component interpolates topology metadata including component IDs, stream names, and grouping values directly into HTML via innerHTML in parseNode() and parseEdge() without sanitization at any layer. An authenticated user with topology submission rights could craft a topology containing malicious HTML/JavaScript in component identifiers (e.g., a bolt ID containing an onerror event handler). This payload flows through Nimbus → Thrift → the Visualization API → vis.js tooltip rendering, resulting in stored cross-site scripting. In multi-tenant deployments where topology submission is available to less-trusted users but the UI is accessed by operators or administrators, this enables privilege escalation through script execution in an admin's browser session. Mitigation: 2.x users should upgrade to 2.8.6. Users who cannot upgrade immediately should monkey-patch the parseNode() and parseEdge() functions in the visualization JavaScript file to HTML-escape all API-supplied values including nodeId, :capacity, :latency, :component, :stream, and :grouping before interpolation into tooltip HTML strings, and should additionally restrict topology submission to trusted users via Nimbus ACLs as a defense-in-depth measure. A guide on how to do this is available in the release notes of 2.8.6. Credit: This issue was discovered while investigating another report by K. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2025-58066 5.3 medium 0.00% no CPE yet nptd-rs is a tool for synchronizing your computer's clock, implementing the NTP and NTS protocols. In versions between 1.2.0 and 1.6.1 inclusive servers which allow non-NTS traffic are affected by a denial of service vulnerability, where an attacker can induce a message storm between two NTP servers running ntpd-rs. Client-only configurations are not affected. Affected users are recommended to upgrade to version 1.6.2 as soon as possible. 18 Oct
CVE-2026-40557 4.8 medium 0.00% apache, storm_prometheus_reporter Improper Certificate Validation via Global SSL Context Downgrade in Apache Storm Prometheus Reporter Versions Affected: from 2.6.3 to 2.8.6 Description: In production deployments where an administrator enables storm.daemon.metrics.reporter.plugin.prometheus.skip_tls_validation (by default it is disabled) intending to affect only the Prometheus reporter, the undocumented global side effect creates an attack surface across every TLS-protected communication channel in the Storm daemon. The PrometheusPreparableReporter class implements an INSECURE_TRUST_MANAGER that accepts all SSL certificates without validation, with empty checkClientTrusted and checkServerTrusted methods. Most critically, when the storm.daemon.metrics.reporter.plugin.prometheus.skip_tls_validation configuration option is enabled (default = disabled) for HTTPS Prometheus PushGateway connections, the INSECURE_CONNECTION_FACTORY calls SSLContext.setDefault(sslContext), which globally replaces the JVM's default SSL context rather than applying the insecure context only to the Prometheus connection. This payload flows through storm.yaml configuration → PrometheusPreparableReporter.prepare() → INSECURE_CONNECTION_FACTORY → SSLContext.setDefault(), resulting in a JVM-wide TLS security downgrade. All subsequent HTTPS connections in the process - including ZooKeeper, Thrift, Netty, and UI connections - silently trust all certificates, including self-signed, expired, and attacker-generated ones, enabling man-in-the-middle interception of cluster state, topology submissions, tuple data, and administrative credentials. Mitigation: 2.x users should upgrade to 2.8.7 if the Prometheus Metrics Reporter is used. Prometheus Metrics Reporter Users who cannot upgrade immediately should remove the storm.daemon.metrics.reporter.plugin.prometheus.skip_tls_validation: true setting from their storm.yaml configuration and instead configure a proper truststore containing the PushGateway's certificate. CVE-2026-12629 4.6 medium 0.00% no CPE yet The ARM PL011 UART driver in drivers/serial/uart_pl011.c fails to acknowledge receive error interrupts. On the PL011, the framing, parity, break, and overrun error interrupts (PL011_IMSC_ERROR_MASK) are cleared only by writing the interrupt-clear register UARTICR; reading the data register clears the RX interrupt and the per-byte RSR status but not the error interrupt status in MIS. The interrupt service routine pl011_isr() acknowledged only the CTS modem-status interrupt and never wrote icr for the error bits, so an asserted error interrupt remains pending after the ISR returns. When an application enables error-interrupt reporting via the public uart_irq_err_enable() API, an attacker who controls the serial peer can deterministically assert these error bits by injecting line errors on the RX line — a baud/stop-bit mismatch or mid-character break (framing/break error), a flipped parity bit (parity error), or FIFO flooding (overrun error). Because the error interrupt is never cleared, the interrupt line stays asserted and the CPU re-enters pl011_isr() immediately and indefinitely, producing an interrupt-storm livelock from which the core makes no forward progress. The impact is an availability-only denial of service (permanent hang), reachable from an external or removable UART peer. Exploitation is gated by configuration: the error interrupt is off by default and no in-tree subsystem enables it, so only applications that explicitly call uart_irq_err_enable() on a PL011-based, interrupt-driven port are affected. The fix makes pl011_isr() acknowledge the pending error bits via uart->icr, breaking the loop, and additionally clears the latched RSR status in pl011_err_check(). Fri 23 Oct
CVE-2025-69230 2.7 low 0.00% aiohttp AIOHTTP is an asynchronous HTTP client/server framework for asyncio and Python. In versions 3.13.2 and below, reading multiple invalid cookies can lead to a logging storm. If the cookies attribute is accessed in an application, then an attacker may be able to trigger a storm of warning-level logs using a specially crafted Cookie header. This issue is fixed in 3.13.3. 11 Oct
CVE-2026-99188 unscored — no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: stmmac: dwmac1000: clear the RGMII status interrupt Since commit 2e2c878a3141 ("net: stmmac: remove SGMII/RGMII/SMII interrupt handling") nothing on the RGMII path reads GMAC_RGSMIIIS, so RGSMIIIS stays pending behind GMAC_INT_MASK from the first link change on. stmmac_resume() resets the MAC in stmmac_hw_setup(); the reset sets GMAC_INT_MASK to 0 until dwmac1000_core_init() writes the mask again, and the pending status storms the line: dwmac_dma_interrupt: unexpected status 04000000 A register dump at the first message on ODROID-HC4 showed it: core int_status 00000001 int_mask 00000000 pmt 00000000 rgsmiiis 0000000d When the resume thread runs on the CPU that takes the MAC interrupt, the storm starves it: a soft lockup, then a watchdog reset or a hang. Read GMAC_RGSMIIIS in dwmac1000_irq_status() when the status is not masked, as the driver did before 2e2c878a3141; the read clears it. Wake-on-LAN resume from s2idle with the resume thread and the MAC interrupt on one CPU: Helios64 (dwmac-rk), 7.3-rc6, soft-locked in 3 of 3 resumes without a fix and in 0 of 10 with this patch; it ran with an out-of-tree dwmac-rk change that keeps the GMAC powered across suspend. ODROID-HC4 (dwmac-meson8b): 0 of 10 with this patch, 2 of 2 without a fix on a 7.3-rc5 build. irq_rgmii_n went up by one per resume. 22 h ago
CVE-2026-98767 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: dwc3: gadget: fix IRQ storm on invalid event buffer count When dwc3_check_event_buf() reads a GEVNTCOUNT value exceeding the event buffer length, commit 63ccd26cd1f6 ("usb: dwc3: gadget: check that event count does not exceed event buffer length") returns IRQ_NONE without writing back GEVNTCOUNT. Since the DWC3 interrupt is level-triggered, the uncleared IRQ source keeps the line asserted, causing a tight IRQ storm that accumulates 99,900 unhandled interrupts and triggers spurious.c:184 BUG -> kernel panic. The resulting call stack: __report_bad_irq+0xac/0xc8 note_interrupt+0x340/0x468 handle_irq_event+0xac/0xc0 handle_fasteoi_irq+0x120/0x228 gic_handle_irq+0x68/0x108 ... kernel BUG at kernel/irq/spurious.c:184 To reproduce, write a bogus value exceeding the event buffer length directly to the GEVNTCOUNT register: devmem <DWC3_BASE + 0xc40c> 4 0x1004 Write the bogus count back to GEVNTCOUNT to clear the IRQ source, consistent with the stale event clearing pattern in dwc3_event_buffers_setup(), and schedule error recovery to reinitialize the controller. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-97515 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: i3c: master: svc: Prevent IRQ storm from false SLVSTART on NPCM845 On NPCM845, when a target on the I3C bus gets stuck holding SDA low, the controller reports a false Master Request (MR) in-band interrupt event. The driver handles this by emitting a STOP condition to restore the bus. However, the hardware quirk SVC_I3C_QUIRK_FALSE_SLVSTART indicates that emitting a STOP condition may spuriously set the SLVSTART interrupt status bit. In the Master Request case, this creates a feedback loop: the STOP triggers a new SLVSTART event, the IRQ handler fires again, the controller still reports an MR type, another STOP is emitted, and the cycle repeats indefinitely, resulting in an IRQ storm that can lock up the CPU. Clear the SLVSTART status bit explicitly after emitting the STOP in the Master Request IBI handler when the SVC_I3C_QUIRK_FALSE_SLVSTART quirk is set. This breaks the feedback loop without affecting normal SLVSTART processing, which is already guarded in the top-level IRQ handler by checking that MSTATUS is in SLVREQ state. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-74653 unscored 0.00% no CPE yet In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: serial: 8250_of: clear stuck empty-FIFO RX-timeout on LPC32xx The NXP LPC32xx UART (PORT_LPC3220) can latch an RX character-timeout interrupt while the RX FIFO is empty: IIR reports UART_IIR_RX_TIMEOUT (0x0c) but LSR.DR is clear. A character timeout is only cleared by reading RHR, but serial8250_rx_chars() reads RHR only when LSR.DR is set, so nothing ever clears the condition. The interrupt is level-triggered and re-fires immediately, so on a single-core ARM926 the resulting interrupt storm livelocks the CPU. It is reproducible when userspace repeatedly opens the front-panel port (ttyS1): serial8250_do_set_termios() re-enables interrupts on unlock and the handler then spins forever with iir=0xcc lsr=0x60 ier=0x05, tripping the soft-lockup detector in serial8250_handle_irq_locked(). LPC32xx has no dedicated 8250 glue driver, it's driven by the generic 8250_of. Add a hardware specific handle_irq for PORT_LPC3220, wired up in of_platform_serial_setup() the same way fsl8250_handle_irq is installed. The handler follows dw8250_handle_irq(): on an RX timeout with an empty FIFO (LSR.DR and LSR.BI clear) it does one throwaway RHR read to clear the condition, then calls serial8250_handle_irq_locked(). No real received data is ever discarded, and it is a no-op on healthy UARTs which never report a timeout with DR clear. This is the same class of bug already worked around in other 8250 drivers; see commit 424d79183af0 ("serial: 8250_dw: Avoid "too much work" from bogus rx timeout interrupt") which reports the identical iir=0xcc/lsr=0x60. See also UART_RX_TIMEOUT_QUIRK in 8250_omap, and the note in 8250_bcm7271. 21 Oct
