| CVE-2023-4911KEVexploit ×24 | 7.8 high | 64.0% | netapp, siemens, bootstrap_os, simatic_s7-1500_cpu_1518-4_pn\/dp_mfp_firmware, simatic_s7-1500_cpu_1518f-4_pn\/dp_mfp_firmware | A buffer overflow was discovered in the GNU C Library's dynamic loader ld.so while processing the GLIBC_TUNABLES environment variable. This issue could allow a local attacker to use maliciously crafted GLIBC_TUNABLES environment variables when launching binaries with SUID permission to execute code with elevated privileges. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2018-19591 | 7.5 high | 6.0% | gnu, fedoraproject, glibc, fedora | In the GNU C Library (aka glibc or libc6) through 2.28, attempting to resolve a crafted hostname via getaddrinfo() leads to the allocation of a socket descriptor that is not closed. This is related to the if_nametoindex() function. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2022-23219 | 9.8 critical | 5.0% | gnu, oracle, glibc, communications_cloud_native_core_binding_support_function, communications_cloud_native_core_network_function_cloud_native_environment | The deprecated compatibility function clnt_create in the sunrpc module of the GNU C Library (aka glibc) through 2.34 copies its hostname argument on the stack without validating its length, which may result in a buffer overflow, potentially resulting in a denial of service or (if an application is not built with a stack protector enabled) arbitrary code execution. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2022-23218 | 9.8 critical | 5.0% | gnu, oracle, glibc, communications_cloud_native_core_unified_data_repository, enterprise_operations_monitor | The deprecated compatibility function svcunix_create in the sunrpc module of the GNU C Library (aka glibc) through 2.34 copies its path argument on the stack without validating its length, which may result in a buffer overflow, potentially resulting in a denial of service or (if an application is not built with a stack protector enabled) arbitrary code execution. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2019-9169 | 9.8 critical | 5.0% | gnu, netapp, glibc, cloud_backup, ontap_select_deploy_administration_utility | In the GNU C Library (aka glibc or libc6) through 2.29, proceed_next_node in posix/regexec.c has a heap-based buffer over-read via an attempted case-insensitive regular-expression match. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2021-33574 | 9.8 critical | 4.0% | gnu, fedoraproject, glibc, fedora, cloud_backup | The mq_notify function in the GNU C Library (aka glibc) versions 2.32 and 2.33 has a use-after-free. It may use the notification thread attributes object (passed through its struct sigevent parameter) after it has been freed by the caller, leading to a denial of service (application crash) or possibly unspecified other impact. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2021-38604 | 7.5 high | 4.0% | gnu, fedoraproject, glibc, fedora, communications_cloud_native_core_binding_support_function | In librt in the GNU C Library (aka glibc) through 2.34, sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/mq_notify.c mishandles certain NOTIFY_REMOVED data, leading to a NULL pointer dereference. NOTE: this vulnerability was introduced as a side effect of the CVE-2021-33574 fix. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2021-3326 | 7.5 high | 4.0% | gnu, netapp, glibc, e-series_santricity_os_controller, ontap_select_deploy_administration_utility | The iconv function in the GNU C Library (aka glibc or libc6) 2.32 and earlier, when processing invalid input sequences in the ISO-2022-JP-3 encoding, fails an assertion in the code path and aborts the program, potentially resulting in a denial of service. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2019-25013 | 5.9 medium | 4.0% | gnu, fedoraproject, glibc, fedora, ontap_select_deploy_administration_utility | The iconv feature in the GNU C Library (aka glibc or libc6) through 2.32, when processing invalid multi-byte input sequences in the EUC-KR encoding, may have a buffer over-read. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2016-10228 | 5.9 medium | 4.0% | gnu, glibc | The iconv program in the GNU C Library (aka glibc or libc6) 2.31 and earlier, when invoked with multiple suffixes in the destination encoding (TRANSLATE or IGNORE) along with the -c option, enters an infinite loop when processing invalid multi-byte input sequences, leading to a denial of service. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2021-35942 | 9.1 critical | 3.0% | gnu, netapp, glibc, active_iq_unified_manager, e-series_santricity_os_controller | The wordexp function in the GNU C Library (aka glibc) through 2.33 may crash or read arbitrary memory in parse_param (in posix/wordexp.c) when called with an untrusted, crafted pattern, potentially resulting in a denial of service or disclosure of information. This occurs because atoi was used but strtoul should have been used to ensure correct calculations. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2021-43396 | 7.5 high | 3.0% | gnu, oracle, glibc, communications_cloud_native_core_binding_support_function, communications_cloud_native_core_network_function_cloud_native_environment | In iconvdata/iso-2022-jp-3.c in the GNU C Library (aka glibc) 2.34, remote attackers can force iconv() to emit a spurious '\0' character via crafted ISO-2022-JP-3 data that is accompanied by an internal state reset. This may affect data integrity in certain iconv() use cases. NOTE: the vendor states "the bug cannot be invoked through user input and requires iconv to be invoked with a NULL inbuf, which ought to require a separate application bug to do so unintentionally. Hence there's no security impact to the bug. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2020-29573 | 7.5 high | 3.0% | gnu, redhat, glibc, enterprise_linux, cloud_backup | sysdeps/i386/ldbl2mpn.c in the GNU C Library (aka glibc or libc6) before 2.23 on x86 targets has a stack-based buffer overflow if the input to any of the printf family of functions is an 80-bit long double with a non-canonical bit pattern, as seen when passing a \x00\x04\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x04 value to sprintf. NOTE: the issue does not affect glibc by default in 2016 or later (i.e., 2.23 or later) because of commits made in 2015 for inlining of C99 math functions through use of GCC built-ins. In other words, the reference to 2.23 is intentional despite the mention of "Fixed for glibc 2.33" in the 26649 reference. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2023-5156 | 7.5 high | 2.0% | gnu, redhat, glibc, enterprise_linux | A flaw was found in the GNU C Library. A recent fix for CVE-2023-4806 introduced the potential for a memory leak, which may result in an application crash. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2019-12972 | 5.5 medium | 2.0% | gnu, opensuse, binutils, leap, ubuntu_linux | An issue was discovered in the Binary File Descriptor (BFD) library (aka libbfd), as distributed in GNU Binutils 2.32. There is a heap-based buffer over-read in _bfd_doprnt in bfd.c because elf_object_p in elfcode.h mishandles an e_shstrndx section of type SHT_GROUP by omitting a trailing '\0' character. | 8 Oct |
| CVE-2020-29562 | 4.8 medium | 2.0% | gnu, fedoraproject, glibc, fedora, e-series_santricity_os_controller | The iconv function in the GNU C Library (aka glibc or libc6) 2.30 to 2.32, when converting UCS4 text containing an irreversible character, fails an assertion in the code path and aborts the program, potentially resulting in a denial of service. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2023-25139 | 9.8 critical | 1.0% | gnu, glibc | sprintf in the GNU C Library (glibc) 2.37 has a buffer overflow (out-of-bounds write) in some situations with a correct buffer size. This is unrelated to CWE-676. It may write beyond the bounds of the destination buffer when attempting to write a padded, thousands-separated string representation of a number, if the buffer is allocated the exact size required to represent that number as a string. For example, 1,234,567 (with padding to 13) overflows by two bytes. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2023-0687 | 9.8 critical | 1.0% | gnu, glibc | A vulnerability was found in GNU C Library 2.38. It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects the function __monstartup of the file gmon.c of the component Call Graph Monitor. The manipulation leads to buffer overflow. It is recommended to apply a patch to fix this issue. VDB-220246 is the identifier assigned to this vulnerability. NOTE: The real existence of this vulnerability is still doubted at the moment. The inputs that induce this vulnerability are basically addresses of the running application that is built with gmon enabled. It's basically trusted input or input that needs an actual security flaw to be compromised or controlled. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2021-37600 | 5.5 medium | 1.0% | kernel, netapp, util-linux, ontap_select_deploy_administration_utility | An integer overflow in util-linux through 2.37.1 can potentially cause a buffer overflow if an attacker were able to use system resources in a way that leads to a large number in the /proc/sysvipc/sem file. NOTE: this is unexploitable in GNU C Library environments, and possibly in all realistic environments. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2020-27618 | 5.5 medium | 1.0% | gnu, netapp, glibc, ontap_select_deploy_administration_utility, a250_firmware | The iconv function in the GNU C Library (aka glibc or libc6) 2.32 and earlier, when processing invalid multi-byte input sequences in IBM1364, IBM1371, IBM1388, IBM1390, and IBM1399 encodings, fails to advance the input state, which could lead to an infinite loop in applications, resulting in a denial of service, a different vulnerability from CVE-2016-10228. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2020-10029 | 5.5 medium | 1.0% | gnu, fedoraproject, glibc, fedora, ubuntu_linux | The GNU C Library (aka glibc or libc6) before 2.32 could overflow an on-stack buffer during range reduction if an input to an 80-bit long double function contains a non-canonical bit pattern, a seen when passing a 0x5d414141414141410000 value to sinl on x86 targets. This is related to sysdeps/ieee754/ldbl-96/e_rem_pio2l.c. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2019-7309 | 5.5 medium | 1.0% | gnu, glibc | In the GNU C Library (aka glibc or libc6) through 2.29, the memcmp function for the x32 architecture can incorrectly return zero (indicating that the inputs are equal) because the RDX most significant bit is mishandled. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2019-6488 | 7.8 high | 0.00% | gnu, glibc | The string component in the GNU C Library (aka glibc or libc6) through 2.28, when running on the x32 architecture, incorrectly attempts to use a 64-bit register for size_t in assembly codes, which can lead to a segmentation fault or possibly unspecified other impact, as demonstrated by a crash in __memmove_avx_unaligned_erms in sysdeps/x86_64/multiarch/memmove-vec-unaligned-erms.S during a memcpy. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2026-84243 | 7.0 high | — | the gnu c library, glibc | The gettext family of functions in the GNU C Library version 2.0 and later accept LANGUAGE environment variable entries that contain '/' or that are equal to "..", unless the program is setuid or setgid (AT_SECURE). An attacker who can set LANGUAGE in the environment of a program that uses gettext can make it load a message catalog (.mo file) from an arbitrary location in the file system. A crafted .mo file can crash the program through out-of-range offsets, or supply translations whose format directives do not match the arguments passed by the program. That causes undefined behaviour in the printf family of functions and may allow arbitrary code execution with the privileges of the program. The safety of message catalogs relies on them being installed in trusted, read-only locations, and the directory traversal bypasses this. The fix for CVE-2014-0475 rejects ".." path components in locale names passed to setlocale or taken from the LC_ALL, LC_* and LANG environment variables. gettext reads LANGUAGE directly and appends each colon-separated entry to the message catalog directory, so that fix did not cover LANGUAGE. LANGUAGE is only used when the LC_MESSAGES locale is not "C", "C.<encoding>" or "POSIX", so the attacker must also be able to select another installed locale, for example through LANG or LC_ALL. Exploitation also requires that the attacker can place the crafted file in a location readable by the target program, and that the environment crosses a trust boundary without the program running as AT_SECURE. An example is an SSH server that accepts LANGUAGE and LANG from clients through the AcceptEnv directive and restricts an account to a forced command; the attacker may use this to escape the restriction. | 19 h ago |
| CVE-2016-10739 | 5.3 medium | 0.00% | gnu, opensuse, glibc, leap | In the GNU C Library (aka glibc or libc6) through 2.28, the getaddrinfo function would successfully parse a string that contained an IPv4 address followed by whitespace and arbitrary characters, which could lead applications to incorrectly assume that it had parsed a valid string, without the possibility of embedded HTTP headers or other potentially dangerous substrings. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2026-89092 | 4.2 medium | 0.00% | no CPE yet | The nscd service in the GNU C Library 2.3.4 onwards may crash due to a stack overflow when a malicious DNS server returns too large a response for a DNS query, resulting in degraded DNS resolution for the system. Exploitation of this bug needs a system that has nscd enabled and using an untrusted DNS server for name resolution, with the compromised DNS server being capable of processing records large enough to result in a stack overflow in an nscd thread stack. During experimentation, bind 9 was unable to handle large records, but that could change in future or with a different name server. In typical installations, nscd is executed in an isolated context as its own user without a shell, due to which any compromise of that service is isolated. There is a remote possibility of nscd cache corruption if an attacker manages to get the stack pointer into a desired point in the heap, potentially resulting in other caches in nscd being overwritten with corrupt data through the stack overflow, until the buggy code path eventually results in a crash. Finally, a crash in nscd may result in performance degradation when resolving names, but it does not result in a denial of service. | Mon 26 Oct |
| CVE-2019-19126 | 3.3 low | 0.00% | gnu, canonical, glibc, ubuntu_linux, fedora | On the x86-64 architecture, the GNU C Library (aka glibc) before 2.31 fails to ignore the LD_PREFER_MAP_32BIT_EXEC environment variable during program execution after a security transition, allowing local attackers to restrict the possible mapping addresses for loaded libraries and thus bypass ASLR for a setuid program. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2021-27645 | 2.5 low | 0.00% | gnu, fedoraproject, glibc, fedora, debian_linux | The nameserver caching daemon (nscd) in the GNU C Library (aka glibc or libc6) 2.29 through 2.33, when processing a request for netgroup lookup, may crash due to a double-free, potentially resulting in degraded service or Denial of Service on the local system. This is related to netgroupcache.c. | 14 Oct |
| CVE-2025-8224 | 1.9 low | 0.00% | gnu, binutils | A vulnerability has been found in GNU Binutils 2.44 and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects the function bfd_elf_get_str_section of the file bfd/elf.c of the component BFD Library. The manipulation leads to null pointer dereference. Local access is required to approach this attack. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. The name of the patch is db856d41004301b3a56438efd957ef5cabb91530. It is recommended to apply a patch to fix this issue. | 15 Oct |
