CVE-2022-0529exploit ×2 5.5 medium 2.0% unzip_project, redhat, unzip, enterprise_linux, fedora A flaw was found in Unzip. The vulnerability occurs during the conversion of a wide string to a local string that leads to a heap of out-of-bound write. This flaw allows an attacker to input a specially crafted zip file, leading to a crash or code execution. 8 Oct
CVE-2026-110639 9.3 critical 3.0% no CPE yet @mborne/extract before 0.2.1 contains an OS command injection vulnerability that allows attackers to execute commands by supplying shell metacharacters in archivePath or targetDir options. Attackers controlling these values passed to extract() can inject commands into unquoted shelljs exec() strings in the unzip, 7z, tar-bz2 and gz extractors, running them with Node.js process privileges. 16 Oct
CVE-2022-0530 5.5 medium 2.0% unzip_project, redhat, unzip, enterprise_linux, fedora A flaw was found in Unzip. The vulnerability occurs during the conversion of a wide string to a local string that leads to a heap of out-of-bound write. This flaw allows an attacker to input a specially crafted zip file, leading to a crash or code execution. 8 Oct
CVE-2026-59803 8.7 high 1.0% no CPE yet rpcx through 1.9.3, fixed in commit 047aec1, contains a denial-of-service vulnerability in protocol.Message.Decode (protocol/message.go). When a message has the compression flag set, the payload is gzip-decompressed via util.Unzip with no limit on the decompressed output size. The only built-in size guard, protocol.MaxMessageLength, is checked against the compressed on-the-wire frame length, not the decompressed size, so it provides no protection. Because decoding (and decompression) occurs in readRequest before authentication, a single unauthenticated connection can send a small (under 2 MB) gzip-compressed message that expands to gigabytes of heap allocation, leading to out-of-memory conditions and service unavailability. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2026-72819 8.7 high 1.0% no CPE yet Grav CMS before 2.0.13 contains a remote code execution vulnerability in the Flex Objects plugin settings validation that allows authenticated users to execute arbitrary code by uploading a ZIP file containing PHP code. Attackers can bypass routine name validation by using array notation instead of string notation, call the unZip routine with a malicious archive, and write PHP files to the web root for execution. 8 Oct
CVE-2025-13645 7.2 high 1.0% wpchill, modula_image_gallery The Modula Image Gallery plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion due to insufficient file path validation in the 'ajax_unzip_file' function in versions 2.13.1 to 2.13.2. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Author-level access and above, to delete arbitrary files on the server, which can easily lead to remote code execution when the right file is deleted (such as wp-config.php). 18 Oct
CVE-2026-104081 7.2 high 1.0% no CPE yet KodExplorer before 4.55 contains a path traversal vulnerability in the unzip_pre_name() function within app/function/helper.function.php, where a single non-recursive str_replace() sanitization pass can be bypassed using crafted filenames like "....//", combined with PclZip's extract() call in KodArchive.class.php lacking the PCLZIP_OPT_EXTRACT_DIR_RESTRICTION option. Authenticated attackers can upload a malicious ZIP archive with traversal sequences to overwrite arbitrary files such as core JavaScript assets, enabling stored XSS that leads to admin account takeover and subsequent remote code execution via unrestricted PHP file upload. 9 Oct
CVE-2026-59193 6.9 medium 1.0% getgrav, grav Grav is a file-based Web platform. Prior to 2.0.0, an authenticated admin.super user can crash Grav or fill the disk by uploading a specially crafted ZIP archive through the Direct Install tool because Installer::unZip calls ZipArchive::extractTo without limits on uncompressed size, entry count, or directory depth. This issue is fixed in version 2.0.0. Sun 25 Oct
CVE-2025-13646 6.6 medium 1.0% wpchill, modula_image_gallery The Modula Image Gallery plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file uploads due to missing file type validation in the 'ajax_unzip_file' function in versions 2.13.1 to 2.13.2. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Author-level access and above, to upload arbitrary files with race condition on the affected site's server which may make remote code execution possible. 18 Oct
CVE-2026-68924 4.9 medium 1.0% no CPE yet MobSF is a mobile application security testing tool used. Prior to 4.5.1, the unzip function in mobsf/StaticAnalyzer/views/common/shared_func.py logs that an archive member exceeding ZIP_MAX_UNCOMPRESSED_FILE_SIZE is being skipped but does not continue to the next member, so an authenticated user can upload a crafted ZIP or APK whose oversized member is extracted to disk when the aggregate ZIP_MAX_UNCOMPRESSED_TOTAL_SIZE limit has not yet been reached, potentially exhausting disk space and preventing further scans. This issue is fixed in version 4.5.1. Thu 22 Oct
CVE-2026-44257 9.3 critical 0.00% no CPE yet efw4.X is an Enterprise Framework for Web. Prior to 4.08.010, efw.file.FileManager.unZip writes zip entries to disk using new File(baseDir, zipEntry.getName()) with no canonical-path check. An entry name such as ../../../pwned.jsp escapes the intended extraction directory and lands anywhere the Tomcat process can write — including the servlet context root. Combined with the framework's multipart /uploadServlet and an event that calls file.saveUploadFiles + FileManager.unZip, a remote attacker with no credentials drops a JSP webshell and executes arbitrary commands as the Tomcat user. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.08.010. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-93471 8.7 high 0.00% no CPE yet Improper Handling of Highly Compressed Data (Data Amplification) in esaml_binding in dropbox esaml allows an unauthenticated attacker to exhaust server memory and crash the Erlang VM via a crafted compressed SAMLResponse. esaml_binding:decode_response/2 base64-decodes the attacker-supplied SAMLResponse, inflates it with zlib:unzip/1 with no bound on the output, then converts the result to a charlist with binary_to_list/1 before parsing. This runs on the SAML consume (ACS) and single-logout endpoints, which accept unauthenticated requests by design, and it runs before any signature check. A small deflate stream reaches a compression ratio near 1000 to 1, so a request body of tens of kilobytes inflates to hundreds of megabytes and then to several gigabytes of list heap, so a few requests exhaust memory and take the node down. This issue affects esaml: from 0.1.0 onward. Thu 22 Oct
CVE-2026-90954 7.8 high 0.00% no CPE yet A flaw was found in BusyBox's dpkg-deb archive extraction. The ar archive handler flushes deferred symlinks after each archive member, unlike the tar, cpio, and unzip handlers which flush once after the last member. A specially crafted .deb archive with two data.tar members can exploit this ordering: the first member declares a symlink pointing to an absolute path (e.g., '/'), which is deferred as unsafe but flushed after the first member. The second member declares a regular file whose path traverses the now-live symlink, resulting in a file being written outside the intended extraction directory. This could allow an attacker to write arbitrary files to arbitrary locations when a user extracts a crafted .deb package. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-40180 7.7 high 0.00% quarkiverse, quarkus_openapi_generator Quarkus OpenAPI Generator is Quarkus' extensions for generation of Rest Clients and server stubs generation. Prior to 2.16.0 and 2.15.0-lts, the unzip() method in ApicurioCodegenWrapper.java extracts ZIP entries without validating that the resolved file path stays within the intended output directory. At line 101, the destination is constructed as new File(toOutputDir, entry.getName()) and the content is written immediately. A malicious ZIP archive containing entries with path traversal sequences (e.g., ../../malicious.java) would write files outside the target directory. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.16.0 and 2.15.0-lts. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-13723 6.5 medium 0.00% no CPE yet A vulnerability in the `zipx.Unzip` extraction routine of Develar's app-builder allows an attacker to overwrite arbitrary files on macOS APFS by exploiting a Unicode Normalization Collision combined with symlink following behavior. APFS treats certain Unicode equivalent filenames as identical (e.g., ß ↔ ss), while app builder performs no canonical normalization before validating or writing paths. As a result, a crafted ZIP archive containing: • a symlink entry named ss pointing to a target file, and • a regular file named ß containing attacker controlled data, will cause the second write to follow the symlink and overwrite the target file. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2026-107224 6.5 medium 0.00% excelize Excelize is a Go language library for reading and writing Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. From 2.1.0 to 2.11.0, a Zip64 uncompressed size with the high bit set is converted from uint64 to a negative int64 before signed size-limit checks and allocation. ReadZipReader obtains UncompressedSize64 through FileInfo.Size and passes the wrapped negative value to readFile. When a crafted Zip64 entry declares an uncompressed size from 2^63 through 2^64-1 and the workbook is opened, the negative size bypasses unzip limits and reaches make as a negative capacity, allowing an attacker to panic during workbook opening. No fixed version is available as of this review. 13 Oct
CVE-2026-47078 4.8 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Relative Path Traversal vulnerability in Erlang OTP (stdlib zip module) allows writing files outside the intended extraction directory via a crafted zip archive. zip:unzip/1,2 and zip:extract/1,2 validate entry paths using zip:check_dir_level/2, which tracks directory depth as a running integer counter: .. decrements it, normal path components increment it. The caller rejects only paths where the final counter value is less than zero. A path such as ../x/y causes the counter to go negative mid-traversal then recover to zero, passing validation while resolving to a location outside the extraction directory when joined with the current working directory via add_cwd. This vulnerability is associated with program file lib/stdlib/src/zip.erl. This issue affects OTP from OTP 27.1 before OTP 27.3.4.15, OTP 28.5.0.4, and OTP 29.0.4, corresponding to stdlib from 6.1 before 6.2.2.4, 7.3.0.1, and 8.0.3. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2025-10995 1.9 low 0.00% openbabel, open_babel A security vulnerability has been detected in Open Babel up to 3.1.1. This vulnerability affects the function zlib_stream::basic_unzip_streambuf::underflow in the library /src/zipstreamimpl.h. Such manipulation leads to memory corruption. Local access is required to approach this attack. The exploit has been disclosed publicly and may be used. 19 Oct
