CVE-2026-68582exploit 9.3 critical 0.00% no CPE yet Vikunja versions >= 0.24.0 and <= 2.3.0 contain a broken object level authorization (BOLA) vulnerability in the task-collection endpoint (GET /api/v1/projects/{project}/views/{view}/tasks). The endpoint loads the requested project view from the URL path without verifying the caller is authorized for it. For a link-share token holder, the task scope is pinned to the share's own project, but the view is taken from the attacker-controlled path and never re-validated. As a result, a holder of any project share link can read any other tenant's kanban bucket records — bucket titles and the full created_by user object (username, name, id) — for every view in the instance. The same missing pre-authorization view load also creates a project/view-ID existence oracle (404 vs. non-404) usable by link shares and ordinary authenticated users. Task contents remain constrained to the share's own project and are not disclosed. Fixed in 2.4.0. Fri 23 Oct
CVE-2026-34727 9.1 critical 0.00% vikunja Vikunja is an open-source self-hosted task management platform. Prior to 2.3.0, the OIDC callback handler issues a full JWT token without checking whether the matched user has TOTP two-factor authentication enabled. When a local user with TOTP enrolled is matched via the OIDC email fallback mechanism, the second factor is completely skipped. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.3.0. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-68581 8.6 high 0.00% no CPE yet Vikunja versions 0.22.0 through 2.3.0 fail to validate the principal type in API token management. Because user IDs and link-share IDs are independent numeric sequences and both resolve through a generic web.Auth.GetID() interface, a link-share JWT whose numeric ID equals a target user's ID is treated as that user by the /api/v1/tokens endpoints. An authenticated attacker can obtain a target's numeric user ID via authenticated user search, then create link shares on an attacker-writable project until the link-share sequence reaches that value, and use the resulting link-share JWT to list, create, and delete the target user's API tokens (including issuing a new token with attacker-chosen scopes under the target's permissions). Fixed in version 2.4.0. Fri 23 Oct
CVE-2026-35595 8.3 high 0.00% vikunja Vikunja is an open-source self-hosted task management platform. Prior to 2.3.0, the CanUpdate check at pkg/models/project_permissions.go:139-148 only requires CanWrite on the new parent project when changing parent_project_id. However, Vikunja's permission model uses a recursive CTE that walks up the project hierarchy to compute permissions. Moving a project under a different parent changes the permission inheritance chain. When a user has inherited Write access (from a parent project share) and reparents the child project under their own project tree, the CTE resolves their ownership of the new parent as Admin (permission level 2) on the moved project. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.3.0. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-57458 8.1 high 0.00% no CPE yet Vikunja is an open-source self-hosted task management platform. In version 2.3.0, a scoped API token limited to the `oauth.authorize` permission can call `POST /api/v1/oauth/authorize`, obtain an OAuth authorization code, and exchange the code at `POST /api/v1/oauth/token` for a normal bearer JSON Web Token (JWT) and refresh token. The resulting credentials are not restricted by the original API token's permissions, allowing access to routes outside its declared scope for the same user. Version 2.4.0 fixes the vulnerability. 16 Oct
CVE-2026-62376 8.1 high 0.00% no CPE yet Vikunja is an open-source self-hosted task management platform. Versions prior to 2.4.0 store password-reset, email-confirmation, and account-deletion tokens in the `user_tokens` table in plaintext. If an attacker gains read access to the database through a backup leak, misconfigured storage, or SQL-level exposure, they can immediately use pending tokens to take over user accounts without knowing passwords. Version 2.4.0 fixes the issue. 16 Oct
CVE-2026-35597 7.5 high 0.00% vikunja Vikunja is an open-source self-hosted task management platform. Prior to 2.3.0, the TOTP failed-attempt lockout mechanism is non-functional due to a database transaction handling bug. When a TOTP validation fails, the login handler in pkg/routes/api/v1/login.go calls HandleFailedTOTPAuth and then unconditionally rolls back. HandleFailedTOTPAuth in pkg/user/totp.go uses an in-memory counter (key-value store) to track failed attempts. When the counter reaches 10, it calls user.SetStatus(s, StatusAccountLocked) on the same database session s. Because the login handler always rolls back after a TOTP failure, the StatusAccountLocked write is undone. The in-memory counter correctly increments past 10, so the lockout code executes on every subsequent attempt, but the database write is rolled back every time. This allows unlimited brute-force attempts against TOTP codes. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.3.0. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-62367 7.5 high 0.00% no CPE yet Vikunja is an open-source self-hosted task management platform. In versions 1.0.0 through 2.3.0, when an administrator enables the per-provider `emailfallback` option on an OpenID Connect provider, Vikunja links an SSO login to a pre-existing local (username+password) account using only the `email` claim from the IdP. The fallback never checks an `email_verified` (or Microsoft `xms_edov`) signal and never requires the matched account's password. An attacker who can obtain a token from the configured issuer carrying a victim's email logs in as that victim with a full session, with no consent or interaction from the victim. Version 2.4.0 fixes the issue. 16 Oct
CVE-2026-111922 7.2 high 0.00% no CPE yet Vikunja from 2.2.0 before 2.7.0 contains a permissive CORS configuration that trusts every localhost and 127.0.0.1 port with credentials, even when service.publicurl is set. Attackers controlling a page on any localhost port can send a credentialed request to the token refresh endpoint and read the returned bearer JWT to take over the logged-in user's account. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-35602 7.1 high 0.00% vikunja Vikunja is an open-source self-hosted task management platform. Prior to 2.3.0, the Vikunja file import endpoint uses the attacker-controlled Size field from the JSON metadata inside the import zip instead of the actual decompressed file content length for the file size enforcement check. By setting Size to 0 in the JSON while including large compressed file entries in the zip, an attacker bypasses the configured maximum file size limit. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.3.0. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-111919 7.1 high 0.00% no CPE yet Vikunja 0.22.0 before 2.7.0 contains an improper access revocation vulnerability that allows removed collaborators to keep receiving project data through webhooks they created. Former collaborators keep receiving task titles and descriptions through their webhook, including content created after their access was revoked. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-111917 7.1 high 0.00% no CPE yet Vikunja 2.3.0 before 2.7.0 contains an improper session validation vulnerability that allows attackers to keep WebSocket access after revocation because handleAuth never checks the JWT sid claim against the sessions table. Attackers holding a stolen access token can open or maintain connections to /api/v2/ws after session deletion or TOTP enrollment, continuing to receive the victim's notification.created pushes, including comment, task and project content. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-35594 6.5 medium 0.00% vikunja Vikunja is an open-source self-hosted task management platform. Prior to 2.3.0, Vikunja's link share authentication (GetLinkShareFromClaims in pkg/models/link_sharing.go) constructs authorization objects entirely from JWT claims without any server-side database validation. When a project owner deletes a link share or downgrades its permissions, all previously issued JWTs continue to grant the original permission level for up to 72 hours (the default service.jwtttl). This vulnerability is fixed in 2.3.0. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-35599 6.5 medium 0.00% vikunja Vikunja is an open-source self-hosted task management platform. Prior to 2.3.0, the addRepeatIntervalToTime function uses an O(n) loop that advances a date by the task's RepeatAfter duration until it exceeds the current time. By creating a repeating task with a 1-second interval and a due date far in the past, an attacker triggers billions of loop iterations, consuming CPU and holding a database connection for minutes per request. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.3.0. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-35600 5.4 medium 0.00% vikunja Vikunja is an open-source self-hosted task management platform. Prior to 2.3.0, task titles are embedded directly into Markdown link syntax in overdue email notifications without escaping Markdown special characters. When rendered by goldmark and sanitized by bluemonday (which allows <a> and <img> tags), injected Markdown constructs produce phishing links and tracking pixels in legitimate notification emails. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.3.0. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-40103 5.4 medium 0.00% vikunja Vikunja is an open-source self-hosted task management platform. Prior to 2.3.0, Vikunja's scoped API token enforcement for custom project background routes is method-confused. A token with only projects.background can successfully delete a project background, while a token with only projects.background_delete is rejected. This is a scoped-token authorization bypass. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.3.0. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-111921 5.3 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Vikunja 0.13.0 before 2.7.0 contains an incorrect authorization vulnerability that allows project members with Write permission to delete admin-tier link shares because the delete permission check reads an unloaded share object. Attackers can send DELETE requests to the v1 or v2 projects shares endpoints with sequential share IDs to revoke admin links and invalidate existing share sessions. 21 Oct
CVE-2026-111918 5.3 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Vikunja from 1.0.0-rc0 before 2.7.0 contains an improper authorization vulnerability in RecalculateTaskPositions that allows authenticated users with zero accessible projects to write task_positions rows for all tasks instance-wide. Attackers can delete their Inbox after repointing default_project_id, then create empty-filter saved filters to persist cross-tenant references and amplify writes for denial of service. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-111920 5.3 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Vikunja 2.6.0 contains a broken access control flaw in getProjectAccessForUser (pkg/models/project_access.go), which resolves a user's effective project permission as the maximum over the project tree, silently overriding explicit lower-permission shares on sub-projects. A collaborator with write access on a parent project but read-only access to a child project can modify the child project's tasks and content. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-115507 5.1 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Vikunja 2.2.0 before 2.7.1 contains an HTML injection vulnerability in CreateConversationalHeader in pkg/notifications/mail.go that interpolates display names and task and project titles raw into email anchors. Authenticated users can craft titles or display names that close the anchor and inject phishing links into task-comment and task-mention notification emails sent to project members. 23 Oct
CVE-2026-35596 4.3 medium 0.00% vikunja Vikunja is an open-source self-hosted task management platform. Prior to 2.3.0, the hasAccessToLabel function contains a SQL operator precedence bug that allows any authenticated user to read any label that has at least one task association, regardless of project access. Label titles, descriptions, colors, and creator information are exposed. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.3.0. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-35598 4.3 medium 0.00% vikunja Vikunja is an open-source self-hosted task management platform. Prior to 2.3.0, the CalDAV GetResource and GetResourcesByList methods fetch tasks by UID from the database without verifying that the authenticated user has access to the task's project. Any authenticated CalDAV user who knows (or guesses) a task UID can read the full task data from any project on the instance. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.3.0. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-35601 4.1 medium 0.00% vikunja Vikunja is an open-source self-hosted task management platform. Prior to 2.3.0, the CalDAV output generator builds iCalendar VTODO entries via raw string concatenation without applying RFC 5545 TEXT value escaping. User-controlled task titles containing CRLF characters break the iCalendar property boundary, allowing injection of arbitrary iCalendar properties such as ATTACH, VALARM, or ORGANIZER. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.3.0. Mon 26 Oct
