CVE-2023-48795exploit ×5 5.9 medium 94.0% openbsd, putty, openssh, filezilla_client The SSH transport protocol with certain OpenSSH extensions, found in OpenSSH before 9.6 and other products, allows remote attackers to bypass integrity checks such that some packets are omitted (from the extension negotiation message), and a client and server may consequently end up with a connection for which some security features have been downgraded or disabled, aka a Terrapin attack. This occurs because the SSH Binary Packet Protocol (BPP), implemented by these extensions, mishandles the handshake phase and mishandles use of sequence numbers. For example, there is an effective attack against SSH's use of ChaCha20-Poly1305 (and CBC with Encrypt-then-MAC). The bypass occurs in [email protected] and (if CBC is used) the [email protected] MAC algorithms. This also affects Maverick Synergy Java SSH API before 3.1.0-SNAPSHOT, Dropbear through 2022.83, Ssh before 5.1.1 in Erlang/OTP, PuTTY before 0.80, AsyncSSH before 2.14.2, golang.org/x/crypto before 0.17.0, libssh before 0.10.6, libssh2 through 1.11.0, Thorn Tech SFTP Gateway before 3.4.6, Tera Term before 5.1, Paramiko before 3.4.0, jsch before 0.2.15, SFTPGo before 2.5.6, Netgate pfSense Plus through 23.09.1, Netgate pfSense CE through 2.7.2, HPN-SSH through 18.2.0, ProFTPD before 1.3.8b (and before 1.3.9rc2), ORYX CycloneSSH before 2.3.4, NetSarang XShell 7 before Build 0144, CrushFTP before 10.6.0, ConnectBot SSH library before 2.2.22, Apache MINA sshd through 2.11.0, sshj through 0.37.0, TinySSH through 20230101, trilead-ssh2 6401, LANCOM LCOS and LANconfig, FileZilla before 3.66.4, Nova before 11.8, PKIX-SSH before 14.4, SecureCRT before 9.4.3, Transmit5 before 5.10.4, Win32-OpenSSH before 9.5.0.0p1-Beta, WinSCP before 6.2.2, Bitvise SSH Server before 9.32, Bitvise SSH Client before 9.33, KiTTY through 0.76.1.13, the net-ssh gem 7.2.0 for Ruby, the mscdex ssh2 module before 1.15.0 for Node.js, the thrussh library before 0.35.1 for Rust, and the Russh crate before 0.40.2 for Rust. 15 Oct
CVE-2026-73429 5.3 medium 1.0% no CPE yet Russh is a Rust SSH client & server library. Prior to 0.62.4, a malicious SSH server can crash a russh client session with a malformed KEX_ECDH_REPLY containing a server ephemeral value that is not 32 bytes long. The client-side Curve25519Kex::compute_shared_secret function in russh/src/kex/curve25519.rs passes the decoded exchange.server_ephemeral value to clone_from_slice without validating its length, causing a deterministic panic before the server host key is verified. The panic terminates the spawned client session task and surfaces as a JoinError, while the embedding process normally remains running. This issue is fixed in version 0.62.4. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2026-73430 5.3 medium 1.0% no CPE yet Russh is a Rust SSH client & server library. Prior to 0.62.4, an unauthenticated SSH client can cause a denial of service by sending SSH_MSG_KEX_ECDH_INIT with a 32-byte all-zero Q_C value. Curve25519Kex::server_dh in russh/src/kex/curve25519.rs accepts the all-zero peer public value and computes an all-zero shared secret, after which compute_exchange_hash calls encode_mpint in russh/src/kex/mod.rs and indexes beyond the end of the input while skipping leading zero bytes. The resulting panic occurs before authentication and terminates the server key-exchange task. This issue is fixed in version 0.62.4. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2026-116794 8.3 high — no CPE yet russh is a Rust SSH client and server library that includes an SSH agent protocol implementation. From 0.50.0-beta.12 until 0.65.0, the agent server's Connection::try_sign path in russh/src/keys/agent/server.rs recognizes SSH_AGENT_CONSTRAIN_CONFIRM but returns a hard-coded successful result instead of calling Agent::confirm. In applications that override Agent::confirm to require user approval or another policy check, a process that can reach the agent socket, including the remote side of a forwarded agent, can use a key added through ssh-add -c without that check and can authenticate or sign data as the user while the key remains loaded. The separate Agent::confirm_request hook still runs for every signing request, so checks implemented there remain effective, and implementations that retain the default always-successful Agent::confirm do not lose an approval check through this regression. This issue is fixed in version 0.65.0. 11 h ago
CVE-2026-42189 7.5 high 0.00% russh_project, warpgate_project, russh, warpgate Russh is a Rust SSH client & server library. Prior to version 0.60.1, a pre-authentication denial-of-service vulnerability exists in the server's keyboard-interactive authentication handler. A malicious client can crash any russh-based server that implements keyboard-interactive auth (e.g., for 2FA/TOTP) with a single malformed packet, requiring no credentials. This issue has been patched in version 0.60.1. Mon 26 Oct
CVE-2026-68930 6.5 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Russh is a Rust SSH client & server library. Prior to 0.62.5, russh dispatches channel-scoped Handler callbacks for recipient channel IDs that were never opened or confirmed in russh/src/server/encrypted.rs, server_read_authenticated, and the exec_request callback. Version 0.62.5 fixes the issue. Fri 23 Oct
CVE-2026-116774 4.3 medium 0.00% no CPE yet russh is a Rust SSH client and server library that includes an SSH agent protocol implementation. From 0.60.0 until 0.65.0, channel-open parsing accepts a peer-declared maximum_packet_size of zero and passes it into ChannelTx::poll_writable in russh/src/channels/io/tx.rs. The Channel::data, Channel::make_writer, and Channel::into_stream asynchronous write paths then calculate a writable size of zero and remain pending forever because window adjustments cannot satisfy a static zero packet maximum. An authenticated client can strand server writes, and a malicious server can strand client writes, allowing affected tasks, channels, and connections to accumulate without surfacing an error. This issue is fixed in version 0.65.0. 12 h ago
CVE-2026-116773 4.3 medium 0.00% no CPE yet russh is a Rust SSH client and server library that includes an SSH agent protocol implementation. Prior to 0.65.0, the client Session::process_packet path in russh/src/client/encrypted.rs accepts repeated packets encoded with russh's private msg::EXT_INFO = 7 before authentication, while the standards-compliant EXT_INFO message number 82 does not reach the affected handler. The handle_ext_info function appends every parsed extension name to received_extensions without clearing, deduplicating, or bounding the vector. A malicious SSH server that deliberately sends private message number 7 can therefore retain an unbounded number of attacker-controlled extension names for the session lifetime, causing progressive client memory exhaustion. This issue is fixed in version 0.65.0. Tue 27 Oct
CVE-2026-73489 4.3 medium 0.00% no CPE yet Russh is a Rust SSH client & server library. Prior to 0.62.4, an authenticated SSH client can cause a denial of service by sending a pty-req channel request with more than 130 terminal-mode records. The parser in russh/src/server/encrypted.rs stores terminal modes in a fixed 130-entry [(Pty::TTY_OP_END, 0); 130] array but continues increasing the mode count, then constructs an out-of-bounds slice and panics before the application pty_request handler runs. The panic terminates the server session task without causing memory corruption. This issue is fixed in version 0.62.4. Sat 24 Oct
CVE-2026-111061 4.3 medium 0.00% no CPE yet russh is a Rust SSH client and server library that includes an SSH agent protocol implementation. Prior to 0.64.1, the agent server spawns a separate long-lived task for every SSH_AGENT_CONSTRAIN_LIFETIME record in a constrained add-key request. The loop accepts repeated lifetime records, clones the key blob into each task, and does not roll back tasks when later constraint parsing fails. An attacker that can speak the agent protocol locally or through agent forwarding can exhaust memory and tasks until the agent process is starved or terminated, denying SSH agent service. This issue is fixed in version 0.64.1. 19 Oct
CVE-2026-116696 3.3 low 0.00% no CPE yet russh is a Rust SSH client and server library that includes an SSH agent protocol implementation. Prior to 0.65.0, russh::keys::agent::server::serve in russh/src/keys/agent/server.rs accepts repeated SSH_AGENT_CONSTRAIN_CONFIRM records while adding a key and appends every Constraint::Confirm record to the key's retained constraint vector without a count or memory limit. A process that can connect to the agent socket, including the remote side of a forwarded agent session, can repeatedly add constrained keys and cause renewable memory growth that persists for the process lifetime because keys without a lifetime constraint do not expire. This issue is fixed in version 0.65.0. Tue 27 Oct
